We cannot give this venue and the staff enough credit. Five stars doesn’t come close to the service we were provided. In less than 24 hours, Jessica, and everyone at Strong Mansion, executed the most beautiful wedding celebration. Did I mention...
that the venue had just had their last wedding of the season the weekend before? On Thursday, around 9 am, Jessica was contacted and asked if there was any way to pull off a wedding, Friday (yes the day after the inquiry) at 3 pm. Without hesitation, Jessica and Stronghold Inc, sprung into action. Rehearsal the same day, only 6 hours after they were contacted. In addition, Jessica took our numerous boxes of decorations and told us, they would take care of it. Little did we know that they would take every idea we had thought of and more to create the most beautiful wedding. If you’re looking for a venue that truly wants to make YOUR wedding day dreams a reality with kind, friendly and caring staff, Strong Mansion is your venue.

Strong Mansion is a beautiful and unique place. They only have one wedding a day, and the amount of time spent there can be adjusted based on your budget. All the staff that work there helped us plan our day to the letter. They answered all our...
questions in a timely manner leading up to our day, made sure our vendors did everything they were supposed to do the day of, and helped us clean up at the end of the night. We loved getting married at Strong Mansion, and our guests enjoyed their time there as well, everyone gushed about how beautiful it was! We cannot recommend Strong Mansion enough!

This venue is gorgeous. Our wedding was in the fall, so the lack of air conditioning was no problem. We ordered 2 heaters for the tent which kept the reception nice and cozy. At our rehearsal, we were able to leave alcohol, wedding favors, and ...
decor in the office which made things so much easier the day of. The day of coordinators were extremely helpful and everything went so smoothly.

Strong Mansion is by far one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen! It was the second or third venue my husband and I saw and it only took us driving up to the front of the mansion to know it was most likely going to be the one. The gro...
unds and mansion are so incredibly beautiful and well kept! It was a dream and fairy tale to be married there. We chose the pergola site for our ceremony. I loved that the ground was flat and had a focal point. Carly and Chris were great to work with and answered any questions I had about the venue or day of. We had a different woman for the evening of rehearsal and it was a little testy and stressful. We arrived 10 minutes early and she immediately took me aside into a separate room to ask me a bunch of questions about the ceremony. I was very confused as to why all these questions were being asked at that moment and not well ahead of time (questions like each person in the wedding party name, order walking down the aisle, how many song changes there will be). It just felt very unnecessary to be doing this as rehearsal was about to start. A few people in the wedding party were lost and trying to find there way.. only about 10 minutes late and also my officiant was running a little behind due to traffic. This person that ran our rehearsal kept hurrying us along saying lets start when they hadn't arrived yet. She informed me that due to the sun going down faster then usual because of the season that rehearsal would be cut down to 5pm-6pm instead of 5-6:30pm. I was not happy with how pushy she was to hurry and finish early and springing that on my literally as we walked into the venue for rehearsal. It was all just very unnecessary. Also, a lot of this information did not seem to make it to Chris the next day, because the day of the wedding she asked me all the same questions and I got a little frustrated with that. Other then that everything went smoothly and great! Amazing venue!!

Strong mansion was a beautiful setting! Our guests loved it and it was such a great place to be both married and have our reception. The views were incredible. The staff let me visit a ton of times for the weekly tours, with best friend, then f...
iancé, then mother, and finally our planner. The only thing to keep in mind are the following: Many map apps lie about the location; the best way to talk to the staff is via phone during business hours; and they care a lot about the site, so some things (like tossing rice or bird seed) are not allowed. We solved this by arming our flower girls with bubble guns, which made them a hundred times happier than flower petals would have anyway. Only other advice: we went for one extra hour (total of 5) for our wedding + reception (appetizers, diner, dancing) and ran out of time. I wish we'd gone for 6 hours.

When we began to consider venues for our wedding, my husband immediately mentioned Strong Mansion. We are both from Germantown, MD and have fond memories of Sugarloaf Mountain hikes and he even installed a number of the mile marker posts on the...
hiking trails as a part of his Eagle Scout project. Despite our familiarity with the area surrounding the mansion, I had never visited, and was blown away during our walk through. There is so much history associated with this place, and as the people who run it have a family connection to the place, they know a lot about the place. We loved the fact that was had so many options, from where we wanted our ceremony to take place (there are three options), which vendors we wanted to use (there are no required vendors other than the rental company for the tent extension if you need it), and which rooms we wanted to use (the girls had reign of the entire 3rd floor! nice for getting ready without accidentally coming across the boys). The staff was also incredibly helpful on the day of the wedding. One person (maybe it was Christie?) came across a little harsh and bossy, but in the end we really appreciated it because she helped everything run so smoothly. I mean, the woman has helped out at hundreds of weddings and knows exactly what she is doing. She was also incredibly helpful when I mentioned that we were thinking about taking a few pictures up the mountain as the sun was setting. She immediately called up the gatekeeper and had him hold the gate for us, just so we could get a few shots (which were gorgeous!). Strong Mansion was the perfect place for us to get married and we had so many compliments on our venue. Definitely recommend.

The first thing that drew us to Strong Mansion was how picturesque and beautiful the outside area is. It is incredibly ideal for pictures, the pond area served as a great location for the ceremony! Another great thing about the venue was that...
it is very affordable, especially since the venue already has a tent included in the rental. The only downside is that they have very strict rules and regulations and you only get the mansion for 7 hours for setup, the ceremony, reception and clean up. If you want more than 7 hours you will have to pay extra.

I had my wedding at Strong Mansion this Spring and it was absolutely beautiful. When we were looking for venues we went to several in the Marlyand area that could accommodate an outdoor wedding with around 150 people and that were affordable. ...
We fell in love it when we saw it. On the wedding day everyone gushed about how beautiful the venue was. There are multiple ceremony areas that you can use based on the number of people you have and time of day. We did ours in the pond area. The seating is set up so that people sit on either side of a little pond. Since this creates a non traditional aisle, we had the bridesmaids and groomsmen alternate which side they walked down the aisle. You should note that the walkway is grass. I wish I had gotten the shoe caps for my bridesmaids since everyone's shoes (including mine) were sinking in the ground. In some pictures it shows a beautiful draping at the top of the tent--note that you have to pay for that, but it makes a huge difference. A great thing about the venue is that it has dedicated parking with a parking assistant, is private, and they plant flowers so that you are surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The bridesmaids were able to have the entire top floor to get read in, and there were extra rooms for family to hang out in if they needed it. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better venue. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the mansion and staff are pretty strict about what you can and can't do (but hey, it's a historical venue). Also the mansion can be difficult to communicate with at times due to when they are open. But you learn to work with it and in the end it wasn't a problem at all. I'd highly recommend paying the extra money for an additional hour if you are having your ceremony and reception on site and if you want dancing. Otherwise, you are on a pretty tight schedule. Definitely take a look at Strong Mansion! It's beautiful and worth the trip.

lanning phases and the day of the wedding. I would give 5 starts, except that they "don't really do email", which is a little inconvenient. So, when we had questions we had to call during regular business hours. And needed to mail contracts/paperwork rather than emailing.

n added perk is having Lori and Chris as on-site managers the day of your wedding. They help to ensure that all vendors follow the required guidelines and keep everything running smoothly. They do so at no added cost to you. We also went with their suggested vendor, Canapes (Note, Strong does not have any required vendors - you are free to choose your own, but I recommend going with their suggestions!). Canapes was absolutely incredible and knew the ins and outs of working at Strong Mansion, since they've done so countless times before. Definitely schedule an on-site visit to this venue - you won't be sorry.
