planning became months of unnecessary stress because their dishonest business practices.
I purchased my dress in November 2025. After choosing a dress, my stylist (Aubrey) rushed me through the checkout. She took measurements and recommended I order one size up from the sample. At checkout, she told me I had to put a 50% deposit down. As I’m actively tapping my card, Aubrey mentions there will be a tariff fee but it will be removed if the tariffs go away by the time my dress arrives. She tells me to check my email to review and sign my purchase agreement. I click the link, which takes me to a payment portal that says “You’re good to go!”. Once I get home, I review the email receipt and see a blank copy of the purchase agreement attached, which I never had the opportunity to review or sign. I notice their policy is actually a 25% deposit. I also see that the tariff fee was $350 plus a $150 shipping fee that wasn't disclosed. I also noticed my waist measurement in the portal way off.
The next morning, I call the dress store immediately and speak with the manager, Tamika. She offers to have me come try on other dresses, and refuses to cancel my order despite the undisclosed fees. Tamika also re-measures me and confirms the waist measurement is five inches off. I asked to be sent the size chart before the dress was ordered. He agrees, but I never receive it.
In February 2026, the tariffs were deemed illegal, so I called the store to ask if the fee would be removed. I was told that they would “have to see”. Again, I ask for a copy of the size chart. They don’t send it. I continue making payments on the dress, but leave a balance, expecting the tariff fee to be removed at some point
On June 15th, my dress arrives and I make an appt for the first time slot the next morning. When I arrive to the salon, the lady behind the desk immediately asks me to pay my balance. I ask if I can see and try on my dress first and she responds by telling me “I guess, but it doesn’t matter because its your dress either way. You signed a sales agreement.” Girl what.. that was incredibly rude but okay. I explain the reason I hadn’t paid the remainder online is because I was waiting for the tariff fee to be removed. She brings Nick out (who is very nice, but unfortunately works for the worst business ever). Nick tells me I can try on my dress while he looks into it. I try on the dress and it fits (thank god). Nick says only his manager can remove the tariff fee, but Tamika is on an airplane and is unreachable. We agree I will come back on Friday. Nick also says Tamika will call me on Thursday to discuss the issue. She never calls me.
On Friday, Tamika INSISTS that they paid the tariff when the dress was *ordered*, not when it came into the country. Which is not how tariffs work… After arguing for a couple minutes, she emails the owner. While we waited for a response, Tamika looked through my file for the signed sales agreement and was unable to produce one (obvi) because Aubrey never printed one out to show me and have me sign. Tamika finally says the owner has agreed to remove the tariff fee "as a one-time courtesy." She again *insists* they paid a tariff. ALSO, when I checked out, the total went down way more than $350, which means they were charging tax on the tariff fee.

I'm one of those people that has always dreamed of dress shopping. Planned it with my Nana, talked about being a grown up and doing this... but l've always been a plus size girl, from 3rd grade to now, and I've always modified what I thought I would experience compared to what I thought the straight size girls experienced dress shopping. And truth be told, at other bridal stores, that is the case.
I can say that not one bit of this shopping experience was modified. I felt like a beautiful bride from the first dress I tried to the last one, the ones that weren't for me didn't feel discouraging or like my body was wrong in anyway. I felt loved and seen and celebrated, and when I found the dress, there isn't a single part of my mind that said, "it would be perfect except for this part of my body in it".
There were plenty of dresses in the perfect sample size to try on, and I could see exactly what my body would look like. The price point on the rack was typical with beautiful options under $1000 as well, and they offer payment plans too.

osed to come back a month later for measurements. The guy who sold me the dress left, and no one from the store reached out to let me know. This is where it all starts to go down hill.
I had to deal with the rude store manager, Tamiko, and the owner, Anne, who became unresponsive, exemplifying their poor customer service. Their awful customer service, made me apprehensive about continuing business with them, and what my future experience will be. Tamiko and Anne were wishy-washy, rude, abrasive, and lacked empathy. The "it's not us it's you" type of mentality. "We've tried everything," but a really sad attempt at putting the customer first.
Be wary of signing anything here. Do not pay in full. Make sure you're 100% certain this is where you want to buy your dress. After Nick left, the customer service turned me off completely. Their contracts only protect them. I'm now stuck in a contract with a dress that hasn't been ordered but paid for in full, and now they refuse to budge on any refund, despite the horrendous customer service. Again, it's never their fault.
Even my bank couldn't help. Tamiko and Anne have no remorse. They'll take your money and run. They even suggested I measure myself and send the measurements, then they'd order the dress and mail it to me since I'm uncomfortable coming in.
This has ruined my bridal experience. Instead of refunding me for a dress that hasn't even been ordered, or even taken measurements they're trapping me in their contract.
Remember, the many reviews they have are because Nick asked for them right after appointments. READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! You will see a pattern here. I was not the only one robbed. Save your time, money, and sanity by going to a reputable, professional place. Don't end up in my situation.
Sadly, this was my first and only stop, and now I'm stuck. This is how I remember my bridal dress shopping experience--fighting with the owner and manager for my money back after experiencing terrible customer service. This should be a happy time, but now the dress will have an awful story attached to it. Which now, I am unsure if I can even afford another dress since I never got the money back from them for doing absolutely nothing. And still no dress!
Anne stated that she opened the shop due to a disappointing experience she had, yet she shows no empathy when others face disappointment. It would have been easier if she refunded me, but instead, they're keeping my money and standing by their poor customer service.
Be cautious if you shop here. Do not pay in full or sign anything until you're 100% sure this is the experience you want. Then you better pray nothing goes wrong, because again, it's never their fault. READ THE CONTRACTS CAREFULLY, THEY DO NOT PROTECT YOU. That includes damages to the dress, if they order the wrong dress, etc... nothing is their fault. Personally, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. You're better off going some place reputable and professional. Do your research, I sure wish I did.

When we arrived, we were welcomed by Tamiko, my bridal stylist. She brought us over to the area that we were going to be using, and while she set up the snacks, my maid of honor and I perused the racks and racks of dresses. Once everything and everyone was settled, Tamiko asked some questions about the engagement, the wedding, and of course the dress. We immediately jumped into it, we grabbed a few dresses just to figure out what cut and fabric I liked, and I’m glad we did because I didn’t really know. The whole time we were trying on dresses, Tamiko was with me and she was amazing - she really listened to me, encouraged me, and knew how to zip and clip those dresses! Hahaha. We pulled a few more dresses and little did I know, my dress was in that selection - actually, my top 3 were in that selection! When I tried on “the” dress, I reallyyyy liked it, I just wasn’t ready to use the “love” word yet and get ahead of myself. I tried on the last dress but instantly knew that I wanted to go back to the other dress and try it on with a veil and accessories. The veil was the push that I needed, that was my dress, I could imagine myself walking down the aisle and partying at my reception. Tamiko pulled the most perfect veil and headband to go with my dress, and as soon as I walked out to show everyone, that was confirmation. Strut Bridal was my one and only stop in my wedding dress shopping, it’s a beautiful shop, and the plus size dresses are what initially attracted me to this shop but they now have straight sizes too, so it’s truly size inclusive. I 100% recommend Strut to any future bride, and I 100% recommend Tamiko as a stylist if you’re able to get her! Thank you Strut!

ut was a dream. I had been worried I was going to feel awkward or pressured when dress shopping but Nick and the rest of the team balanced the line of being supportive and giving space perfectly.
Though the outside of the shop may look small, Strut had a wide variety of dresses, veils, and accessories. One thing they did that I loved was not sharing what sizes they were pulling as you tried things on. I don’t know if it was intentional but it did help me get out of my head of obsessing over what dress size I was and just enjoy the dresses and process as it happened.
Additionally, I appreciated how true to my budget Nick was able to stay.

He told me his stores success rate for finding bride's their dress. I didn't know my budget, so I wasn't sure coming into my appointment if I'd get to be one of those lucky girls, but I was! It was such a magical day, and it wouldn't have been so successful without his expert eye and my mom.

on. When we visited the Chandler store, the process of ordering the dress was seamless and straightforward, and the staff were pleasant and helpful throughout.
However, the issues began after we received the dress. Since we live out of state, we had it shipped directly to us. Upon arrival, we found that the dress was not the correct size in the chest area, measuring 2.5 inches smaller than what we had ordered. While the rest of the dress fit as expected, this discrepancy was a significant problem.
When I reached out to Strut to address the issue, they were quick to offer assistance in finding a seamstress to make the necessary alterations. However, when I inquired about a price adjustment or any compensation for the mistake, I was told that it was a "manufacturing issue and not a store issue," and therefore, they would not provide any discount or financial assistance.
As a customer, I believe that when a manufacturer makes an error, the retailer should advocate on behalf of the customer to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, Strut did not take responsibility or support me in addressing the mistake. At a minimum, they should have offered to cover or contribute to the cost of the alterations required to fix the dress. Instead, we were left to spend over $200 to add a corset back to the dress, as there wasn't enough fabric to use for paneling after hemming.
While the initial experience with Strut was positive, the lack of accountability and customer support when an issue arose has left me deeply disappointed. I would caution others to consider this before choosing Strut Bridal Boutique.

d if they could squeeze me in so I could possibly find SOMETHING and not waste my whole day. They were super cool about letting me in thirty minutes from when I called--so soon that I had to really book it to the shop to make it on time!
When I entered the shop it was decorated neatly but appeared busy and "lived in" in a cozy way and smelled like fresh coffee, since they offered free coffee and water as refreshments near the front of the shop. I had to wait for a while, but this is only because my stylist Tamiko had had an appointment ahead of me and I'd barely squeezed in last moment with no prior warning. My future mother-in-law and I waited patiently, but the owner of the shop and Tamiko assured us several times that they were aware of us and trying their best to get to us, which I appreciated.
I was shown to the back fitting area for me as one of the last appointments of the day and Tamiko took in my preferred style and size and any concerns I had about my wedding dress. I asked for very little glitter and beading, A-line shape, and a sweetheart neckline that I could customize with sleeves later.
She brought me dresses in my price range and in my style somewhat--dress one was meh but not far off from what I was asking for, the second one was fabulous and nearly what I wanted, and the third one was The Dress.
A snag in the moment came in the form of my mom's criticism on Facetime but Tamiko did her best to smooth the moment over and make me feel like I was making my own decision to take the dress home.
Tamiko and another co-worker stayed after hours without rushing me or making me feel guilty for being past hours despite my protests that we hurry so they could go home. The visit ended with a very positive note and big hugs to the stylists there who connected with me on a personal level and made me feel beautiful and welcomed.
I loved the service, personalization, grace, and expertise from my stylist, Tamiko. The prices were pretty standard but didn't feel unfair. The selection for plus sizes was enormous and ranged all the way up to size 38. If you are plus-sized, this shop is the shop I would recommend for your wedding day.

It felt like Melissa was a friend who was invited to join me in this big decision and wanted it all to be just as perfect as I did! My appointment was with Nick and he was absolutely amazing. He started by offering us drinks and snacks and made us feel Uber special. He picked out 4-5 dresses for me to try on based on the limited information I provided and he nailed it on the first try. I tried on all the dresses he brought but I was already in love with the first one. The dress was a real pain too considering all the buttons but he was patient and so kind throughout the entire appointment. I wanted to wear the dress again at the very end and he buttoned it all up for me again without hesitation.

I went during the sample sale, and she put 2 dresses in the rotation that she thought I might like that will help me decrease the cost. Of course I decided on the one that wasn't on sale, but they did offer $200 for picking a dress and ordering that same day.

selection for me to try on and I was very excited. Prices were comprable to other salons. I decided to change my dress selection to a dress that I found at Strut.
I only tried on dresses that were off the shoulder or with sheer sleeves as I am uncomfortable with my arms out due to my size and also I need my bra support, so I do not wear strapless dresses.
The service was ok, but not stellar like the experience that I had at the other salon, but I was I moved foward and ordered my dress. I asked about adding more bling to the dress and was told that the seamstress could add appliques and once the dress returned that she would go over some options. Although the sample dress fit perfectly, the woman assisting me suggested that I go up in size to have more coverage in my bust, so I did.
Luckily, my dress arrived a few weeks early, but unfortunately, I was out of town and was unable to make an appointment for pick-up within the required week, so was told that there was $150 to store the dress beyond that. We went around about that for a second, before the manager agreed to waive the fee.
I took the full day off from work to pick up my dress and to have the seamstress take the dress in (as I ordered a size up) and to see her suggestions for the appliques. Needless to say, the seamstress was not informed and I was told that was a differnt appointment, to which I would need to pay some nominal fee. I was extremely disapointed and annoyed as I was blamed for the miscommunication and 'the notes' didn't have any of the details that were discussed. Then I was told that the seamstress didn't have availability for 3 weeks.
Finally I went to try on my dress and of course it's strapless!! The MOST important thing that I discussed that I DID NOT want! I was told that 'the notes' didn't have anything about the sleeves and that I was not 'charged' for them and that they were $225. I almost blew a gasket! I showed all 50 pcitures from my dress appointment which all showed me in sleeves!! I suggested that they take the $175 tip and get my darn sleeves! The manager then went to get the sleeves from the sample dress and asked if I would like to shcedule my alteration appointment. I said, absolutely NOT! I will use someone unaffiliated with Strut to do my alterations as I suspect me sizing up was an attempt to ensure that their partners have a stream of income as well. It just was a big let down with a bunch of hidden and uncommicated fees. Not the experience that any bride wants or deserves.

joy a little charcuterie! Omg, it was so much more than that. Nick and Tamiko went out of their way to make the entire experience unforgettable and to ensure I felt special. They coordinated with my loved ones, set up an amazing spread of snacks and displays, and implemented some personal touches that I am still so moved by.
They were so warm, affirming, and thoughtful. I have always been terrified of the dressing room, but Tamiko made me feel so comfortable. She and Nick are brilliant and honestly knew what would fit me better than I did. They brought in dresses that I would have never thought I'd look good in, and I quickly saw myself in a different light. This sounds so cheesy, but it was literally a healing experience for me and my body image. It allowed me to love my body and, quite possibly, see myself the way my fiancé sees me.
I knew I was going to find my dress because I had so much trust in Tamiko and Nick. Near the end, I tried on a dress and fell in love with it, but I decided to try on the last two just for fun. The moment I put on the next dress, I felt overwhelmed because I did not think I could EVER pull it off. I asked Tamiko what she thought because I just didn't trust what I was seeing, and she gave me her honest opinion that she liked this one more. When I stepped out, my family and friends loved it, but Nick's comment really stuck with me. He said, "Now, this is the dress that gives you that Jessica Rabbit shape!" This is a long-winded way of saying that I cannot recommend Strut enough. I drove from San Diego to Long Beach because of the amazing reviews from my friends who also traveled to Strut for their wedding dresses, and it was absolutely worth the trip. I also highly recommend a private appointment if you'd like to bring more people or if you feel like you'd enjoy that type of experience! I loved being able to bring all those that I wanted there, and they even offered a tripod to Facetime those who couldn't be there. I wasn't planning on having a bridal shower, and now I definitely don't need it because the entire appointment felt like one. Thank you, Tamiko, Nick, and Strut! I can't wait to go there again for my Bridesmaids dresses!

They have a store full of beautiful dresses where the sample sizes are plus size. Kelly helped me at my appointment and she was amazing, she helped me try on a ton of dresses and found the perfect dress for me. I never thought I would find such a gorgeous dress that fit me so beautifully. This was the first place I went and I decided I needed to go to at least one other place, but after I did, I couldn’t get back to Strut fast enough to order my dress. I also got my veil from them at a later date and Kelly was able to pull the veil I tried on at the first appointment and ship it up to LA, saving me a trip. She was able to find my dream dress. I was nervous to spend 2k on a dress when I first heard wedding dresses are going for that price. But when I found my dress I was happy to say yes. When I came into the shop, I had the pleasure of working with Brooke, and she was fantastic. She heard me when I told her what I was looking for, and by the end of my appointment, I had the most perfect, gorgeous, most stunning dress I have ever seen. is on par with the complaint submitted to the BBB on 11/21/22 and several 1 star reviews submitted on Google and Yelp. I cannot give this business even 1 star in good conscience. I wish I would have reviewed the BBB website for complaints, and read all 1 star reviews instead of only trusting the overall rating before entering this business - lesson learned! On 2/13/23 I ordered a mother of the bride dress from Strut Bridal Salon. The Strut employee took my measurements at the store and supposedly ordered accordingly. On 4/14/23 I returned to Strut Bridal Salon for my fitting and alterations appointment only to find that the dress was at least 4 sizes too large. After visiting 3 separate seamstresses that the Strut Bridal employee directed me to, all agreed that the dress was too large and would require a full recut/remake for it to fit as intended. All 3 seamstresses, including the seamstress at Strut were unable to do this due to the level of recutting required. After the Strut employee informed the owner of the situation, the owner offered no assistance whatsoever and indicated that Strut had fulfilled the terms of their contract.
BUYER BEWARE – Strut’s contract indicates they will have no accountability for the recommended size provided by their own Strut stylist. Additionally, they will not be accountable for the sizing provided by the manufacturer. I believe that Strut’s contract implies that once the dress is ordered and paid for, they have no obligation to ensure that the dress is wearable, and that their hands are washed clean of any further assistance should the dress not be wearable. I believe that Strut Bridal does not conduct business in good faith and does not deal honestly with their customers. A dress should not require a full remake to be wearable. In my case, this dress required a full recut/remake, not just simple alternations, which costed me nearly the amount I paid for the dress and caused me severe stress finding a master seamstress on my own capable of remaking the dress. I believe my request for half of the cost of the remake ($150) was more than reasonable. I paid over $500 for the dress and the remake was $329 - over half of the cost of the dress itself. Attached are photos of email correspondence between me and the owner of Strut Bridal.
My highest recommendation would be Amy Bridal at 2602 W Baseline Rd #1, Mesa, AZ 85202. This little hidden gem has an amazing selection of wedding dresses and formal wear for people of all sizes, and Amy is a master seamstress with over 35 years of experience, who was the miracle I needed to remake my dress, which is why I'm mentioning her in this review and will be reviewing Amy Bridal separately. Her pricing is very reasonable and she is incredibly helpful.

I had specifically chosen Strut because everyone says they're the best for plus size dresses. I don't know how true that is for their wedding dresses, but for bridesmaids, that was absolutely not the case. Their sizing was...unclear at best (it's the last two numbers on the tag, flipped) and not explained until we specifically asked about it. Dresses were not organized by size or style. Their selection was completely lacking. They had no extra sizing for any of the dresses so if I had found one dress I liked, I wouldn't have been able to see how it looked on my other two bridesmaids. My stylist did not really work with us at all, just checked in every 30 minutes or so and asked us only the date, not anything about our vision and didn't even help my bridesmaids get sized. Thankfully, they knew their sizing from our previous appointment, though.
My hopes were absolutely crushed by this store and I felt so bad for my bridesmaids who weren't able to try on any of their dresses. If you are looking for plus size bridesmaid dresses, especially if you want them to match, this isn't the store for you. I made this appointment solely because of all the good things I had heard about them, so even though I don't like giving bad reviews, I'm leaving the review I wish I had read.

r two main reasons: I’m a plus-size person (usually a women’s size 18 in dresses) and I’m not a feminine person (since buying my dress, I’ve realized I’m nonbinary). I didn’t feel excited about dress shopping, actively tried to avoid it, and went mostly because it made my Mom happy.
Enter Maritza. She is an exceptional listener and really validated my feelings about not wanting the “princess treatment.” She picked all the dresses for me, which was an enormous relief since the idea of browsing the dresses myself was overwhelming to me.
She really hit the right balance of letting my Mom, MoH, and me express our opinions while offering input in just the right doses. After our appointment, we went to another plus-size bridal shop appointment, and it was such a different experience. We called Strut from the car to order the dress we liked best! We were also referred to an absolutely stellar tailor, Lara of Folklore Dress Studio, and she was just as lovely to work with as we made alterations that fit me for the wedding 3 years later!

but my stylist was so wonderful and helped me in all the ways I needed. Not only was she super professional, but she was extremely kind and efficient in helping me narrow down what I wanted in terms of the dress. She gave me encouragement when I needed it and was overall amazing! I knew of the shop because I actually got my prom dress there in 2014 and knew it was where I wanted to find my wedding dress. I was absolutely prepared to have to come back a couple times but we were able to find my dress in the first visit, in fact it was the second dress I tried on! Thank you Strut and Ariana!
