though I stayed with my mermaid style dress I was happy to at least know for sure what I liked and didn't like. She helped me figure out the best fit and even the color of my dress. She listened to me and both of my mothers. I had the most magical experience here. I am so happy I found strut being a plus size bride. There is nothing worse then feeling that you can't find your dream dress because of your size. Thank you Strut for an amazing experience!!! I can't wait to wear my beautiful dress in my wedding day! It is going to be just perfect.

your size... STRUT doesn’t do that! They put you in the size you are or bigger. And damn did It feel good to just be in dresses that fit! I walked in feeling defeated but they turned that around real quick! I had told them ahead of time the type of skirt I was looking for. I arrived and they had my name on the board and greeted me with the most genuine smile. I talked to my stylist telling her how horrible my experiences have been and how I need a win. She apologized on the behalf of the industry and promised I will leave with smile and probably a dress. She pulled the dresses (or similar ones) that i asked for before the meeting. Trying them on I realize this wasn’t what was what I actually was going to look good in. The stylist asked if I was willing to leave the ball gown dress behind and adventure into a different fit. I reluctantly agreed. She pulled a dress my mom and sister had asked about when we 1st walked in and looked at their dresses. I tried it on and it fit really well. After taking my mind out of the ball gown I fell in love! Yes I ugly cried... I stayed in the dress and asked question. I wanted a corseted dress and this was zipper. They said that they can see if it will be able to be ordered that way and if not then their seamstress would be able to do it! She was there and confirmed all the alterations I wanted to add to the dress (sequins and sleeves). I didn’t have one problem and DID leave with a smile and a dress. I returned to pick up my dress a month ago and put it on and didn’t want to take it off it fit perfectly! I go back in April for alterations! I can’t recommend this place enough! If i could give it more stars I would. My cousins fiancé actually found her dress here as well! If you are a “plus size” bride you don’t need to go anywhere else! Just a heads up parking is scarce. I recommend to park in the parking lot across the street.

n't mention or tie the corset that was sown into the gown, if she had I would have NEVER bought it because of how my breasts pour out of dresses like that. Low and behold that's exactly what happened at my first dress fitting. I was devastated! I had to pull it together because I was getting married in 2 months and I HAD to find a wedding gown. Yulina was beyond helpful and just so kind hearted to my mom and I. We needed a lot of reassurance and hand holding that day because of our terrible experience at the other boutique and she gave it to us! I found a better wedding gown at Strut because of Yulina! sparkle and amazing details. I’m a plus size 18 and dreaded going dress shopping I put it off for months. I think it’s even harder because when you search online the same wedding dresses come up over and over and it’s hard to see anyone with a similar body type and you don’t really see many pretty options. I’m a visual person I need to see what something looks like on me I can’t imagine it. I went to one other wedding dress store that also specialized in plus size dresses and was so frustrated with how everything replied on a built in corset. I already had in my mind I would probably have to get something maid but then I walked in here and actually got excited. They had all kinds of styles they were not the type with the corsets. They even had low back dresses. The first thing they did was put me in a proper bra the kind with boning down the waist. I think that made a huge difference in how I looked in dresses. Yulina was amazing she pulled beautiful dresses and was great about adding straps, belts, petticoats, what ever to show you how you could change the look of the dress. I really liked that they have seamstress they can send you to and that they could do some customization to dresses. They were able to add lace to a dress order longer train add sparkle tulle etc. I do plan to go back to look at bridesmaids dresses here. If you are a size 12 or above you really need to check this place out! I tried on low back dresses that I would have never thought I would look good in and they were beautiful. They even had a section of boho dresses. I wish I would have came sooner and not put off shopping for a dress. Ask for Yulina she’s amazing and excellent at showing you how you can change the look of a dress. If you live far away it’s worth the trip. If you come here help spread the word because I know I am not the only plus size bride who was loosing sleep about going wedding dress shopping. Just come here!

t, Yulina, was amazing!! She asked all the right questions and gave me my own Say Yes to the Dress experience, just like on tv. I tried on multiple dresses and picked one with some customizations that Yulina helped me pick out. My party even got their bridesmaid dresses at Strut, the options were so much cuter then other places. I had plus size girls and a size 2 and the dress we picked was beautiful on all of them. I highly recommend going to Strut, don't waste your time anywhere else.

e selection for me and I have had less than satisfying experiences their with friends and family of mine. Being a curvy girl, it was something that had always kind of worried me. I love shopping and fashion, but all the plus size dresses I had seen were kind of boring and basic. Not to mention, there's not that many bridal salons that sell them, at least not in my area. When planning my trip to Long Beach during spring 2017, I live in Washington, I happened to come across the website for Strut. I thought, why not give it a chance? What could it hurt? I called and made my appointment, and that's where it all started. My sister came with me to the salon and we were greeted with smiles and overwhelming positivity. The main person who helped us was Tamiko. She was great! In preparation for coming to the salon, I sent them the link to my pinterest wedding page and answered some questions about my wedding and my style. At the salon I answered some more questions and then it was time to get started. Tamiko had already pulled some dresses for me and had them waiting in the dressing room. Upon walking into the dressing room I saw it. THE dress. I pointed to it and said "I want to try on that one!" And I did lol. It was love at first sight. I ended up trying a handful of other dresses on, but came back to that first one. Tamiko made me feel so comfortable and confident in every dress. She was funny, honest and genuinely cared about my happiness! I really had no intention of buying a dress that day, but the dress had other ideas lol. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I had pinned this dress at least 4 times and didn't even realize that I had! They really do their research and prep work at Strut! I left the salon that day just to sleep on it, and returned a couple days later to try it on once more and ultimately purchase my dress. The purchasing process was easy and stress free. I put down half the amount and have made montly payments since. They are very accomidating and are always friendly and helpful on the phone when I call. My dress should be in sometime in October, at which point I will go back for measurements and alterations. I am excited to see my dress again and see those friendly Strut ladies! Overall I would give Strut 10 out 10 stars and would recommend it to anyone looking for a dress. If you want a place where you will feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable Strut is for you! I saw the dress I wanted the second I walked in and once I put it on I knew it was the one! It was such a great experience from beginning to end ( I just went back to drop off my dress to get cleaned and preserved last week). yet I still was able to try on every dress I liked! (since they are pretty reasonable all the ones I picked were within the budget) Strut was the second bridal salon I went to. The first dress I tried on, I cried. At first I thought it must be THE dress. and then when I tried that dress on again, and wasn't as in love, Tamiko suggested maybe it was because it was the first dress that fit me! Boy was she right! I am a size 18 in jeans and a large bust - the first place made me feel I would never be able to try on my dress until it was ordered or customized - but in we walk to Strut, and bam first dress zipped up perfectly! Tamiko was fantastic through the whole process - from my first email through saying yes to the dress! I felt like my dress was just missing a little something that the #2 dress had and when she explained I could add it, I knew I found my dress! I told myself all week prepping for the appt that i would not but instinctively and would need to think at least over night (plus I had two appts the next day!) but I knew I found it and was so happy to yes! I'm excited to continue working with strut when my dress comes in, and my bridesmaids to order their dresses! Only thing I would say - nothing to do with the store - if you are coming a distance (which I was over an hour half away) prepare for traffic and finding parking!

de everything such a GREAT experience. Initially, they put a dress in the dressing room that I didn't think I was going to like at all. On the hanger it was just.. eh. When I put it on, it felt like the skies opened and the heavens were singing because I FOUND THE ONE! I was literally going "OK, CAN I GIVE YOU MY MONEY NOW? LIKE RIGHT NOW?" I am a last minute bride, so that means they could only pull certain styles for me. I thought that meant samples ONLY, but no.. they did something that no other salon ever did for me, look and see if my size was in stock so they could order it and rush it over. So.. in one week, I am going to receive the dress of my dreams. Not in a month, not in 4 months, not in 6 months, in ONE WEEK! Thank you so much, Strut! You definitely brightened up this bride's YEAR.

we only have a few wedding dress shops here, and practically none of them had plus size dresses available to try one. I found a plus size bridal store in Los Angeles and made an appointment. A few days before the appointment, I was researching online and found Strut. I called with the hope of being able to schedule an appointment for the same day as my other appointment, but knew that it was a slim chance, because of the short notice and they may not be able to accommodate my group size. Tamiko answered the phone and got me scheduled for the day I wanted before the other appointment I had already scheduled. She asked me questions to get a sense of what I was wanting, what I was looking for, and my sizing. She was so professional and friendly. The day of the appointment, a group of 11 of us, including myself, made the 2 and half hour drive to Strut. We walked to the front door, and I immediately fell in love with their display dress. The entire staff greeted us and made us feel so welcomed. They had set up lots of chairs in the back for our large group and got us set up. Maritza was assigned to help us, and I couldn't have been happier. She listened to everything I had to say...my wants, my fears, and my concerns. She was AMAZING. She helped me try on at least 10 different dresses, and I ended up finding my dream dress for a great price. Maritza made me feel amazing and eased all of my fears and concerns. I didn't end up needing the appointment at the place we had scheduled for later that day. All of us that were there were so pleased and happy with not only the assortment of dresses, but the overall atmosphere and kindness of the staff. I would highly recommend Strut Bridal to any bride.

ut. I traveled from Wash, DC to LA to go there. I checked out some others in LA while I was there but Strut was by far the best. Tamiko is awesome! I didn't feel like I was in a "plus store". I felt like I was in a bridal salon where the dresses fit me like any other woman. Tamiko and the other girls in the store were personable and fun. They brought us glasses for our champagne and shared snacks with us. They had all types of dresses in a fun, trendy, loft style environment. Don't forget to ask Tamiko for the magic slip. It's awesome and will make you look amazing :) On top of that, it's important to support the 12+ bridal boutiques so that they can grow and expand. Happy shopping girls.

ong with me. After trying on dress after dress and nothing really fit I became discouraged. I eventually just settled on a dress at David's Bridal. However, I did not make the purchase or a payment at the time. I was so tired of hearing "Once it comes in your size its going to look amazing on you." I pretty much just gave up. Another young lady from my church was married last year and recommended Strut's bridal to me. I didn't really want to go because I was tired of being disappointed and I liked my dress even though I didn't love it. But after talking to my mom and sister I decided to go and give it a try. Why not? It can't hurt I didn't pay for the other dress so I called and made an appointment and the rest is history. Once I arrived Tamiko was so nice and helpful. She took my information and then after I finished my paper work she set me up with my stylist Maritza. Maritza was awesome!!! She came along asked me questions and really tried to get a feel of who I was and what style I was looking for before she started pulling dresses. Once she pulled the dresses she took me in the dressing room. My mom and auntie were waiting patiently in the dressing room with me and Maritza came in and put them out and told them to have a sit and relax. Maritza keep communicating with me, making me laugh and helping me put on my dress which I definitely did not get at the other bridal salon's I visited. When I found my dress she knew it and so did I. My aunt even cried. I put down my payment that day. They have remained in contact with me keeping me update on the status of everything. I was so impressed that I cancel my appointment with David's bridal for my bridesmaids and made an appointment with them. My bridesmaids felt the same way. I would definitely reccomend this bridal salon. I am a size 20-22 and they made me feel special. Oh and by the way the dresses actual fit me! Thank you so much Maritza and Tamiko.

was a bit back and forth on whether I wanted a lace dress or organza and wanted something a little different. Stephanie had me try on a few that I picked out and then she had saved the best for last. It was a perfect combination of a little color, and organza with stunning lace detail. In short it was perfect and came in 600 under budget. I cannot put into words how amazing it was, everyone was happy and supportive and overall I could not have asked for a better experience.

otherwise. My bridal consultant was Stephanie and she was adorable. Very helpful in showing the different styles (since I didn't know exactly what I wanted) and seemed open to help me try on as many as needed till I found something I really wanted. I picked out a dress and made the needed down payment and went on my way. Later that evening I was going through pictures on my phone of all the different dresses I tried on and I came across one that I didn't really give much attention to. All night I kept thinking of the other dress and how I really liked the way it looked just wasn't a fan of the straps as they were uncomfortable. So the next day I called and spoke with Ann (the store owner) and she had me text her the dress to see if it was still there (as this was the main day of the sale) and to ask one of their seamstresses (luckily she was at the store at the time I called!) if removing the straps was possible. She text me back quickly to let me know it was possible and I was able to switch out the dress I originally picked for the one I couldn't stop thinking about. They really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase and would recommend this store to anyone looking for personal service and a wide selection of plus size dresses.

I was looking for a flowy and ethereal type of dress for my forest wedding, and it was impossible to find at other stores. My stylist, Stephanie, was absolutely amazing! She made me feel comfortable. She LISTENED to what I wanted, and every gown she pulled was something I really liked. She was a PRO at pinning me in the dresses, not every stylist can give you a good idea of what the dress will look like after alterations. I never felt rushed, or pressured. I actually had fun at this appointment, I left SMILING. Other stores I left in tears, and NOT in the good way. It was an hour drive to get there for me, and it was absolutely worth it! Don't let where other bridal stores are limited define what you should wear on your wedding day!

lus size wedding dress store in all of California. I was disappointed in the dress selection because they were mainly ball gown type. I am a big girl, I don't need to look bigger than I am. I yelped and googled desperately looking for another dress store. I called a couple of places and they recommended I take a friend to try on the dress and if I like it, they will order my size. UMMM...OKAY?!?!? So I find Strut and the lovely employees that allowed me to try all the dresses that I loved. My girls brought the dresses in and the Strut girls had to hesitation to allow me to try them on. The selection was much larger and the prices were much more reasonable. Tamiko and the other girls were so helpful in finding accessories and making the dress look flattering as can be. Then I found the one...well my girls did. It had just the right amount of bling to make mom happy and the right amount of lace to make me happy. It was a sleeveless and I was looking for sleeved. Tamiko and the girls found me the most beautiful shoulder piece that I would be able to have the alteration person sew on a small sleeve to make me feel comfortable. I asked them to write the information down so that I go back with my parents. My dad saw the dress on me and immediately wore his sun glasses. That is when I knew that this dress was the one. So thank you Strut Bridal for being an option for us plus size girls!

ther stores I visited. Strut is a smaller shop in Long Beach, but they have beautiful dresses! I worked with Tamiko during an evening appointment mid-week, and I was so happy with the service. I spent about 15 minutes with Tamiko in the beginning of the appointment talking through what I was interested in (simple, clean, soft-feeling dress), and she proceeded to pull about 8 dresses that I could try on. All were within my budget, and each dress I tried made me feel better and better. Overall, Tamiko listened to what I was asking for and pulled only dresses that she thought would make me feel beautiful, and were within my price range (under $1`,000). The shop was spacious, NOT hot and stuffy like some other shops, and has a loft-type feel with plenty of lighting to take great pictures as you're trying on dresses. It's still mind-boggling why there are so few shops in LA that carry larger sizes, but I am grateful that this is one of them! Highly recommended for anyone who is not fitting into a size 6 or 8 anything :)

e weeks out. They let me know that based on my wedding date, it was time to get going on my dress, and made time for me to come in the next day. They were very sweet and accommodating to myself and my guests (there were 4 ladies, and I would not recommend bringing more!). Although there were other brides in the store, I didn't see them as we were in a semi-private area. I came in with a vision of the dress that I thought would work for me. The second dress I tried on was radically different from it, so I kept trying on other dresses. Finally at the end, I was not able to make a decision, and asked to try on the 2nd dress again, which I'm pretty sure was picked out by my consultant, Tamiko. Wouldn't you know that it turned out to be my dress? I loved being clothespinned into dresses, celebrated by my mother and friends, and able to purchase a dress that was firmly within my budget. The dress came in ahead of schedule, and Strut has been wonderful throughout the whole process. I'm looking forward to my fitting!!

When I walked in to Strut I had already dealt with embarrassing fittings of dresses that had no hope of getting over my curves, and stores where I was told that they had nothing for me to try on in my size, but that was at other bridal salons. Strut became my savior. Not only did I find the most amazing wedding dress, the service and support I received from the ladies at Strut was unparalleled. They reminded me that I was beautiful. They helped me find a dress that was both flattering and dreamy. I was able to walk out of there with the dress of my dreams, and no one balked at my size. I was just a normal girl searching for the perfect dress, and they had it. I am so grateful for the experience I had at Strut. We had a blast, and i found the most amazing dress ever! It was such a positive experience, I would go back and buy a dress there for a party from their selection of bridesmaids dresses. They were nice, and not pushy about me walking out with a dress, which took alot of the pressure off. It was a great experience.

shopping I was both excited and nervous that the place wouldn't have anything that was either short enough for me, or made for a plus-sized bride in mind and worst of all... I would feel like a whale on a day when I was supposed to feel beautiful. What I didn't know was that we were going to Strut, which specializes in brides’ size 12+, stepping in was refreshing and worth the 15-minute challenge to find a park. The attendant who helped me was named Becca and the first thing she did was help me find the right size corset, (40D, who knew?) and start trying on dresses, she let me move away from the A-Line and setting on something much more fitting to my figure that makes me feel like royalty when I put it on, Even the price was very reasonable and my dress will be coming in in February I said yes to the 5th dress on my first visit to a bridal salon, something I never thought could be possible thanks to the wonderful women at Strut.

nce I was going to be in Phoenix I decided to go in to see what might look good on me so I could piece together a pattern to make my gown. When I walked in the door I was greeted warmly, and with it being a smaller place my entourage was the only one there. Angel made us feel very welcome and really took the time to know what I was looking for in a dress. She pulled 10 gowns to start me off with in different styles matching the theme that I wanted, and not a single one of them looked bad. We found THE dress in that first batch, and everyone was in tears when it was on me, including both staff members at Strut. They are willing to work with you on payments for your gown, but we paid it all up front (my gown was a gift from my grandma Jones). Strut also has deals every month. When I went in one of the deals was to get a bridesmaid or mother gown free with full purchase of a bridal gown $1000+. I forgot to ask for the special when we checked out, so I contacted them the next day and they were more than happy to apply it to my purchase, so we got my MOH's gown free as well. They have an amazing selection of gowns there for brides, MOB, MOG, and any other entourage member that needs a dress. They also sell formalwear gowns. I cannot recommend Strut highly enough. All of the gowns were either just the right size or too big for me, which made me feel amazing not having to squeeze into something 7 sizes too small. The staff is very helpful-I have dealt with 4 different ladies there since we also purchased some of my attendants' gowns from Strut.
