h were nervous about photographers would be an understatement. Adena assuaged all of that. From the first planning conversation (and all subsequent ones) to our engagement shoot to our wedding itself, Adena worked to make sure that we were comfortable, at ease, and confident as we went through our day. After we booked with her, she even sent us a little welcome package with some friendly wedding reminders and some surprise gifts. On the day of our wedding, some unforeseen circumstances meant that we arrived at the venue about forty-five minutes after we were scheduled to do so. Adena was ready to go with our list of photos and ran a tight ship that we still got everything done five minutes ahead of schedule. She helped make sure everything was clearly and efficiently communicated to wedding party and family so everyone knew where they had to be and when to make all photos as smooth as possible. During the reception, she captured so many small (but significant) moments that made us so excited to see as we flipped through each picture. At all stages, she was extremely prompt and timely with getting each deliverable back to us, most of which, before they were contractually due. The photos themselves were beautifully shot, edited, and framed. Adena captured the authenticity of our day and our love and presented it fantastically. Now that we have our album, we cannot stop looking at it. We could not be more thankful.

n rattling off a pre-written list of things that *would* be photographed for us, Adena was interested in getting to know us -- our unique personality as a couple and as individuals -- and what we were most interested in having captured on our wedding day. The result of that personal touch and thought shines through in our wedding photos, which are objectively beautiful pictures but also so uniquely "us". We also can't overstate how helpful Adena was in making our wedding day run smoothly. As someone who had photographed at our venue (Liberty House) before, she was full of suggestions and helpful tips - from the hotel we should choose for great first look photos, to a flawless timeline, and so much more. She and her #2 (Laura) showed up on time - early actually! - on the day of and kept things running more-than-smoothly. One of our favorite parts of the day was our doing couples photos together, which felt so easy and fun to do together -- we owe that to the vibes Adena and Laura brought. Adena managed our massive bridal party, family, and friends (210 guests) with ease and was so organized that we ran ahead of schedule and had time to fully relax and take in the moment before walking down the aisle. We are so grateful we chose Studio A Images as our wedding photographer and so highly recommend to anyone! We love our photos and loved working with her.

She was friendly, super detailed, and organized. I never wondered if she was going to get back to me or if I had forgotten anything. I know she's a busy photographer but she always made me feel that #1 client. Having Adena and her assistant around for my actual wedding felt more like having a good friend by my side. And that is really where Adena shined. The pictures she ended up creating for us felt personal, authentic, detailed, and exactly how I remember the day. This is in large part because Adena "got us". Dealing with her during the wedding and after the event was a pleasure. Our albums are more than we could have hoped for! And I forgot to mention the engagement picts, included in her very reasonably priced package, came out fantastic – they really captured the love felt! She let my daughter and then fiancé choose any location – they chose Central Park – and dedicated nearly a whole afternoon to getting hundreds of pictures! Her portfolio included many same-sex couples, and each couple seemed to be represented through their own unique tastes and styles, nothing felt "packaged" or filtered through a manufactured aesthetic--and what's more, she was a local. When we spoke with Adena by phone, we were impressed by her ability to use non-gendered language when discussing our plans (so many other vendors were fixated on who was 'the bride'). Adena continued to impress us throughout the entire planning process, with conscientious suggestions and assurances that were always spot-on. On the day of the wedding, rain loomed, and a few unavoidable issues came up with other vendors, but Adena's photography was the one factor we were not worried about. She navigated our pre-wedding pictures expertly, managing 25+ family members all while keeping calm and focus, and keeping us calm and focused as well. At the wedding ceremony and reception she managed to be everywhere at nowhere at once-- totally unobtrusive, but also capturing every special moment, including many we did not get the chance to witness ourselves until we saw her photographs. We recently received the photographs of the day and are beyond thrilled with the work. Everything we like about Adena's photography is there: attention to detail that is editorial-worthy, candidness that is documentary-like, and composition that is flawless. We got the pictures quickly, a few weeks after the wedding, and I couldn't believe all the great candid shots she got. All of the guests were photographed and my mom was so excited that she finally was able to get a picture with all of her grandkids – something that hasn’t been able to do at past events. It was important for us to choose a photographer who was comfortable photographing a same sex couple and she was. She was experienced professional who made us feel comfortable behind the camera. She included a photo session before our wedding in our package. That gave us an opportunity to get accustomed to her style and for her to get a better feel for us. The fact that she really understood us was captured in the photographs that she took at our ceremony and reception. We absolutely loved our photos. She seemed to know exactly the shots that would be most meaningful to us during the entire day. She also took the most fun shots of our guests at the reception which made the photo collection of our special day a true reflection of all of the joy and fun we had. Adena was exceedingly professional and low key but also determined to get every shot we asked for. She even risked life and limb climbing up a tall ladder on the sidewalk outside of our church to capture a shot of everyone who attended the wedding ceremony. It’s one of our favorites.

She captured our posed photos efficiently, providing helpful but not overly long direction about positioning, etc. She took the time before the wedding day to get to know us and our preferences. Like most pros in this business, she offers the opportunity for the bride and groom to dictate which shots are important, etc, but she doesn't make you do her job for her in this respect: she knows how to find the best shots without being micromanaged! We wanted the key family photos, of course, but otherwise, we just wanted her as an invisible force documenting the day's events and capturing special, candid moments. Adena was happy to deliver. She was prompt, professional and friendly. She went above and beyond in several ways, including some little, but important, details - like making sure I removed my hair tie from my wrist before walking down the aisle, which I would have forgotten and which would have been in my pictures forever (whoops!). She has a great eye for detail. We lucked out with a beautiful, sunny day (and she took full advantage of that for photos), but we had the impression that she would have camped out in a blizzard if necessary to make sure she got there early. She really provided some much-needed guidance for this relatively low maintenance bride and groom, and we are looking forward to having our photos to cherish forever as a result of her great work!
