After getting married last month, we cannot recommend Lara and Studio Nouveau enough! After doing an engagement shoot with her and being blown away, we knew we'd made the right ch...
oice, but then we saw our wedding photos and we couldn't believe how incredible they are. We can't thank Lara (and Lara!) enough for all of their time, their help, their patience, and their kindness. They always managed to be in the right place to capture the important moments, but they never felt like they were in the way or trying to coordinate artificial shots, they were just capturing all of the joy and love on our special day, and it shows in all of these amazing photos. If you're looking for the best wedding photographers, stop looking, you've found them!
Lara with Studio Nouveau was amazing! She was great to work with on the day and knew all the best picture spots at our venue to help us run things flawlessly. She was easy going an...
d open to even adding in more family pictures then we originally said once we realized we forgot some. She had made us an amazing book as well with our engagement photos that we were able to use as our book for people to sign. I can't wait to see the final pictures but the numerous sneak peaks we got a week after our wedding were already flawless. Thank you Lara for everything and for making our day such a breeze with photographs!!
Big surprise- I'm a type A bride and I was super nervous on what vendors we worked with. Working with Lara and her team was by far the best decision I could've made (outside of say...
ing yes to my fiancé). I did SOO much research my brain was about to explode. My degree was related to photography so the moment I saw pixelated photos on bad websites with corny/staged photos I hit NEXT. Her website drew me in and then when she replied to my inquiry I was hooked. She was casual but professional from the start. I met her in her (adorable) studio in Waltham just to understand the process and talk about schedules etc. I saw more of her work in person including the guest books she makes and the custom thank-you notes. Sold, sold, sold. Then she drove up and met us in Portland, ME for our engagement photos. They were NOT corny, perfectly lit, and really captured our personalities in just a couple hours.
Leading up to the day of I was pretty stressed but Lara took the time to walk me through the day-of plan multiple times so that when we actually got to the day I was so relaxed. I knew she was going to keep everyone, not just me, on schedule which was exactly what I needed. It really is like herding cats! After spending so much time planning I really wanted to soak up the day rather than worrying if we were running late. Lara nicely and casually kept things moving right on time. I also really wanted her to get photos of our invites and a couple other details like my shoes/hanger of my dress etc and I completely forgot to ask. Of course she got all those detail shots and WAY more. Side note- When out in a field a bee got stuck in the lining of my dress right before we were taking group photos. Lara didn't even hesitate, tried to grab it, GOT STUNG, and then proceeded to calm ME down.. what a hero! She's the best photographer/bee-slayer out there. You won't regret working with her. She's unbelievably professional and has the best eye. If you're looking for not-corny, high quality work, and someone you'll enjoy working with, go with Lara. You only have one shot to get it right and Lara will get it right.
Holy wow. Studio Nouveau was the best vendor selection we made in our wedding process. We met with the owner, Lara, as soon as we had a date (almost 2 years out) and clicked with h...
er right away. We left her studio and almost immediately booked with her. From our engagement shoot to wedding day, she was nothing but a delight to work with. We convinced her to come ALL THE WAY TO SPAIN for our engagement shoot, and she helped us with everything from location scouting to outfit selection. After the E-shoot and leading up to the wedding, she fielded all my ridiculous questions with grace, connected me with my eventual MUA, and even helped confirm my decision for my dress! She went above and beyond and did WAY more than expected. On wedding day she and her second shooter made sure everything ran smoothly and on time, and reminded us to take deep breaths throughout the day. She captured everything perfectly. On top of her personality and ease to work with, her photos are perfection. To say they're pure magic would be selling her short - because there's no magic/mystery here; this is just raw talent. We are left with incredible memories frozen in time, to help us relive the moments we remember, and to take in some of the ones we were too busy to see. We couldn't recommend Lara and Studio Nouveau more.
Studio Nouveau was recommended to us by a friend for our wedding at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, and we are so happy that we hired them for our engagement shoot and wedding...
! The team is incredibly friendly, responsive and professional. When we met with them in person, they made us feel right at home and we genuinely enjoyed spending time with them! We reviewed the beautiful photographs of other couples they had worked with, and we knew they were the photographers for us!
Admittedly, we were both hesitant to do an engagement shoot. Once we saw the gorgeous wedding guest books comprised of engagement photographs that Studio Nouveau offers we were on board! Because we had originally thought that we would not be doing an engagement shoot, it took place only 6 weeks before our wedding. They went above and beyond to provide us with our photographs and our guest book well in advance. Both are absolutely stunning, and we love looking at them! They really captured who we are as a couple in lovely posed and candid shots!
On the day of the wedding the team arrived early (which was much appreciated!) and was friendly and professional to everyone. They have an eye for detail, and we are thrilled that they made sure to capture each one (especially after months of planning and designing!).
We received a link with a preview just a few days after our wedding, and the photographs are more beautiful than we could have imagined! We cannot wait to see the full gallery! We highly recommend Studio Nouveau, and feel so lucky that we had them with us to document our special day!
Choosing Lara as our photographer for our wedding was one of the first decisions that we made while planning and undoubtedly one of the best. She immediately made us feel comfortab...
le and relaxed, and she has such an amazing eye for detail and artistry. Our engagement photos looked wonderful (and we were so grateful that they were included in our wedding package--it made being photographed on our wedding day feel much more natural!), and we couldn't be happier with the photos from our wedding as well. Lara has a ton of expertise and every suggestion that she gave was spot-on and helped us have a wonderful day. We were also SO appreciative of the quick turnaround with our sneak peeks of both wedding and engagement photos--it was great to be able to show our guests some of the professional photos at brunch the next morning, because Lara had the sneak peek in our email inbox before we woke up the morning after the wedding! We can't recommend Lara and her team highly enough.
I can't even begin to tell you what an amazing experience my husband and I had with Lara. From the first email all the way up to the wedding she was responsive, fun, and put us com...
pletely at ease. I never doubted that our photos would come out beautifully, and she and Christine definitely did not disappoint. We did our engagement shoot with Lara first, and coming from two people who don't love having their picture taken, she was the perfect person to get us both out of our shells. After about half an hour it honestly just felt like hanging out with a friend who happened to be taking some pictures, and they came out amazing!
On the day of the actual wedding, Lara and Christine were an absolute dream. I was so nervous before the ceremony, and they were both sweet and funny and made me feel so much more comfortable. They banged out all of the family and wedding party photos like pros and gave us so much more time to spend with our guests. Not only that, but they've done so many weddings that they knew all the little tricks, and even helped me with my dress and veil when it got stuck in my hair. Honestly brides (and grooms) if you want to be well taken care of by people who truly love what they do, you can't go wrong with Studio Nouveau. I know that we'll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives, and I couldn't be more grateful to Lara and her team for everything they did to make our wedding special.
We cannot tell you enough how obsessed we are with Studio Nouveau and Lara's work. She and her team are true professionals and you can tell they love what they do and it shows in ...
their photos. We worked with Lara for our wedding and engagement photos. Lara is a genius behind the camera and her eye for the entire picture is nothing like I have ever seen or worked with before. Our photos are absolutely breathtaking and we receive so many compliments. Lara and her team make taking pictures such a fun experience. We had such a blast with them and even our bridal party was complimenting at how good they were. I am so grateful for their work and that we have such wonderful memories through pictures of our big day for a lifetime. We highly recommend Studio Nouveau to other couples planning their big day. You will not regret this decision at all!
I wish I could get married all over just so I could work with Lara again! Let me tell you brides and grooms-to-be out there, she is an absolute genius! From the moment you meet her...
you instantly feel like you've met a longtime friend. Throughout the whole planning process, from engagement pictures to the big day, she is professional, funny, reliable and able to answer all of your questions, no matter how crazy they may sound! She makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and truly captures who you are as a couple. Her eye for different angles makes her photos stand out, and she isn't afraid to get dirty (like hopping a few fences) in order to get that perfect shot!
My husband and I were lucky enough to live in the same town as Studio Nouveau, so we stopped in after work one day and sat down with Lara, the owner. We weren’t interested in hirin...
g a videographer for our wedding, which made picking the perfect photographer all that more important. When we sat down with her that hot/humid summer night, and she handed me an iced cold Narragansett summer shandy, I knew we would get along. Lara is easy to hang out with, she had us laughing from the moment we met her - which is very important! You are going to be spending several hours with your photographer, and it can get intense. We knew it wasn’t just about talent - which let me clarify Lara is UNBELIEVABLY talented - but there also had to be a level of comfort. Lara is the ultimate professional, she answered all of my technical, what-if and sometimes ridiculous questions without hesitation. She never caused any excess stress and her speedy & thoughtful replies always helped put this Type-A bride at ease. It was never difficult to get in touch with her & she was always positive & upbeat. We had a great engagement session by the Charles River, we built a beautiful guestbook together, and leading up to the big day she helped us create a timeline that worked with her and our other vendors. It was actually all quite easy. Lara brought Jaime as her 2nd shooter, and together they were a joy to work with on our wedding day. We got all the photos we wanted and she kept us on schedule without being too intrusive. She gives just enough direction without forcing it. My favorite photos are always the candids, and she knows how to capture those moments beautifully. We’ve received many compliments from our wedding party about how much they enjoyed our photographers. I’ve only seen a few of the photos so far, but they are spectacular and I cannot wait to see the rest. Lara is a true talent & a wonderful human being. We felt lucky to work with her!

e of their great energy and enthusiasm, they got us out of our shells and the results were incredible. We love our photos and will cherish them forever. They truly made our wedding day extra special and we can't thank them enough! Great work, ladies!
Studio Nouveau is freaking amazing!!! I worked with Lara and she is professional, down to earth, and unbelievably accommodating. We did an engagement shoot/family/ and newborn all ...
rolled into one. I changed my mind and decided to cancel my wedding and elope and she was on board and completely willing to go anywhere we wanted for our elopement in such short notice. She made sure we had every picture we wanted to capture and was adventurous and willing to do whatever it takes to capture our special day. And to top it off our pictures are breathtakingly gorgeous. I don't even have to recommend Studio Nouveau or Lara to my friends because once everyone saw our pictures they asked immediately who did them because of how amazing they are. I plan on working with Studio Nouveau in the future and will absolutely recommended to all of my friends, family and strangers.
I really can't say enough positive things about working with Lara and Studio Nouveau, who photographed our engagement shoot, pre-wedding dinner, and wedding day. Lara is everything...
one would ever want in a photographer - professional, knowledgeable, personable, fun, and extremely talented. In the months leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day, Lara treated us with the same care as a close friend. Not only did she provide advice and support as we planned our destination wedding, but she also made sure everything ran smoothly and looked beautiful on our wedding day, during which she also gracefully and cheerfully navigated multiple roles of friend, event coordinator, and photographer. In doing so, she surpassed our expectations of what and how a "wedding photographer" should be. To say her photos are beautiful is an understatement. As a bride, I didn't realize that I would miss certain events - my father greeting guests as they arrived, my husband's nervous smile as he anticipated seeing me walk down the aisle, the faces of people I love as we said our vows. Those moments are sacred and special, and I would have missed every one of them without Lara's photos. She perfectly captured all of the important moments of the day, and hiring her was the best decision we made. We couldn't be more grateful for her hard work and immense talent.

stine were incredible. They were there to (discreetly) capture every moment and were so friendly and personable to put us at ease during the couple/group photos. It was a pleasure working with them from start to finish.
I would give the Studio Nouveau 6 stars if I could. Lara and Christine were an absolute treasure to work with for our wedding photography. They innately knew how to gorgeously capt...
ure our day - from the big picture moments down to the delicious details that make my designer heart sing. Our photos are one of my most precious heirlooms to date. On our wedding day, my husband and I felt that we were in great professional hands working with these ladies. We loved being able to relax and enjoy, and it really comes through in the photos! Several family members were not able to attend our wedding, but they have been thrilled to relive our day with us with the spectacular photos. Many thanks to Lara and Christine!!
The Studio Nouveau team was great! From our first meeting with them, through prep and our wedding, they were wonderful and on point. I would highly recommend Lara and her team!

as well curated and fantastically organized. Lara's approach is professional yet totally fun. She not only captured all the details from a gorgeous perspective but was respectful during the ceremony - which meant a ton to my dad! I can't wait to have Lara take on another shoot with us again in the future!

ara and her team is like having your friends photograph you! It is just such a comfortable experience. I couldn't imagine not having Lara there on my wedding day helping keep me laughing when trying to stick to our schedule. The photos were AMAZING and I would recommend her a million times over again!!
Our experience with Studio Nouveau has been the best. When we first met with Lara, I knew we had to have Studio Nouveau photograph our wedding. She is so professional, personable, ...
talented, and responsive – everything a bride could possibly want! Lara was even willing to climb snow covered hills on a cold winter day to get the perfect engagement shots. On the wedding day, Lara and Val were so fun to work with and made us feel at ease. I didn’t have to worry about a thing as they knew exactly when and where to go for the best shots. When we got our photos, I was in awe. They are stunning, creative and natural – no forced or awkward poses. Lara and Val captured all of the special moments and emotions from the day, and the attention to detail is amazing. We’ve received many compliments and I’m so thankful that I have all of these beautiful images to remember the day by. They even put together a slideshow with music – an unexpected bonus! I really can’t say enough good things about Studio Nouveau and highly recommend them!

ng our engagement photo shoot, (which I suggest to every engaged couple in order to get used to the camera always being there during your big day) Lara made my husband and I feel completely comfortable and made it seem like we were just taking a walk in the woods.
Lara and Val are professional, creative, and genuinely fun women that it was like having a couple more girl friends around while getting ready. They also were able to think on their toes when the bus coming to pick the entire bridal party up for the first look was rear-ended. In order to stay on schedule they suggested an even more wonderful place to do the first look instead. I'm so happy they were there to help in that moment!
After each photo of family and friends Lara would say, "A+++", well, Studio Nouveau we give you an, A++++ for your hard work, creativity, fun attitudes and for just being awesome! We will be looking at our pictures in 50 years from now thinking of how glamorous and special you made us feel that day.
Thank you!

ely felt comfortable working with her. The photos from that shoot were AMAZING.
Fast forward to the wedding... Lara emailed us days before letting us know the weather, sun set time, and made an itinerary that was easy to follow. Her creativity comes out big time in the photos. She has such an eye for cool backdrops, fun photo opportunities, and awesome angles. She was by far the best decision we ever made for our wedding. We will be asking Studio Nouveau to photograph again for sure. I can't wait to see the final pictures!!!
Well worth the money. If I could give 10 stars I would!
