From our first meeting, it was evident that they had a clear approach to their roles in taking photos – Becky will be leading the group, telling them where to go or how to smile, whereas Kaleb will be taking gorgeous, detailed photos at the same time. This results in the classic wedding photos from Becky, with glamourous “behind the scenes” photos from Kaleb. They include an engagement session, which helped us relax more, and that was our first glimpse into their style. Becky kept us organized moving forward – she develops a great timeline, checks in about what photos are most important, and will tour the venue ahead of time to start coming up with plans about how to get the best photos. On the day of, they kept the schedule in place and did not disappoint. They’ll join you on the dance floor and catch the funny, emotional, or absurd moments in a wedding day, all while making you feel comfortable and smile naturally. We got sneak peeks of the photos quickly, and then the final photos within 3.5 weeks! All photos are gorgeous and reflect what we wanted from wedding photos. Becky and Kaleb do not disappoint, and we highly recommend them!

e everyone felt confident and comfortable behind the camera and got all the pictures we wanted - Becky befriended our flower girl to get her to smile in photos and even jumped on Kaleb's shoulders at one point to make sure they got the perfect angle! They scoped out our photo spots ahead of time, gave great in the moment suggestions on photo locations and poses, and captured our wedding day perfectly! We got our photos back earlier than expected and they are so beautiful - not only did they capture all the moments we wanted but so many more that we didn't even realize! Highly recommend!!

the camera. Our entire gallery was delivered to us so quickly (a little over a week). They were very quick to respond to our initial emails and coordination emails leading up to the photo shoot day. They were great to work with and we will definitely reach back out to them again for future photos we need taken!

and Kaleb apart from other photographers we talked to was their kindness, friendliness, and sincerity. From the moment we started talking to them on Zoom to to our wedding day, it felt like we were always talking to good friends who really cared about us. It never seemed like they were just "on the job" so to speak. Their communication was extremely prompt, cordial, and professional. We had a Zoom meeting, FaceTime meeting, emails, and texts. Becky was always quick to respond and give advice where needed. Becky and Kaleb also sent several sweet gifts throughout our engagement. Each gift had a handwritten card in it - handwritten cards have a special place in my heart, so I really appreciated the time they took to write them out! Our engagement session with them was magical! I was soooo nervous leading up to it. My husband (fiancé then) and I had never gotten professional pictures before. I am generally a pretty shy/anxious person, so though I was excited to see how the pictures turned out, I was very nervous that I would look silly in them. Becky and Kaleb eased those fears right away. It seemed like we were hanging out with old friends, and at times, it even felt like they weren't even there. They gave us so much space to be ourselves and be silly. I felt like spending that much time just focusing on my then fiancé (and not have to worry about photographers or looking silly) caused me to fall even more in love with him, if that's even possible! Becky and Kaleb also arrived at our engagement shoot site early to ensure they could find some great spots to shoot pictures! Throughout our engagement session and wedding, we REALLY appreciated that Becky and Kaleb could comfortably model all of the poses they asked us to do. It really helps that they are married themselves! I am definitely more of a visual learner, so it made things a lot less stressful for me to see a pose done before trying to recreate it. As I mentioned, I am an anxious person, especially when it comes to time/schedules. I had created so many spreadsheets and schedules for the wedding day. What I really needed on the day of the wedding was someone to tell me that everything would be ok, and that we were just fine on the schedule...even if we were a few minutes behind. Becky and Kaleb did just that! They helped me so much in staying calm throughout the day, while still keeping everything running smoothly and on time. They were also great with changing plans a bit when it started raining for some of our group pictures. Finally, I'm getting to the reason we actually hired them in the first place! The photos! WOW, are they gorgeous! Not only are they absolutely stunning, but they also really capture the true heart and soul of our day. Becky and Kaleb captured so many raw, tender, beautiful moments. We still have no clue which pictures we will actually purchase to hang up in our house - there are wayyyy too many beautiful ones to choose from! Thank you, Becky and Kaleb, for giving us both an amazing product in our photos....but also an amazing process along the way! We are so thankful for you both, and we hope to work with you guys again at some point!

This made our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures feel like us instead of super staged. I cherish all the photos that they have taken and the only issue that I had was there were too many good ones that I had a hard time picking the best ones for our photo album. They will be our first to call when we ever want to have family photos taken in the future and our ONLY recommendation to people engaged. You will not find a more professional, kind and talented set of photographers! You can not do better than Pen and Lens. My Grandmother past away a few weeks prior to our wedding and we ended up moving our reception two weeks prior. Becky and Caleb were nothing but supportive. They even captured some very special photos of my Grandfather's reaction who has Alzheimer's. The day of they were on top of everything and made everything so smooth. They had a set plan and adapted to anything that came their way. I am so beyond thankful for both of them. I will be calling them in the future for any photos that we need! My papa is my favorite person on this earth, it was a really special moment for me to get a few moments alone with him and talk to him before I walked down the aisle.
