There are a lot of pros and cons to working with Studio Vieux Carre.
PROS: Their editing skills are wonderful. The music correspondence with each segment of video was lovely. The cinematography is really excellent. The video we received is som...ething that would be perfect to show family members/friends/guests since it is brief and contains the most important elements. It is obvious that they spent a lot of time working on our video to put together each component (from each separate camera) and make it a seamless video that fades from one scene to the next without flaw.
CONS: The length of the video is extremely short (22 minutes) for such a lengthy event (4 hours). Due to the length of the video, many of the important parts of the reception were cut very short - the bridal party dance was not included, the first dance was only about 25-30 seconds long, the father/bride and mother/groom dance was about the same, and the cutting of the cakes were very brief. Their prices are high. However, it is simply not enough content for the married couple or their parents. Our wedding was April 2010 and we received our video January 2011. So, if you want a quick turn-around, you probably won't get it here unless you make some type of arrangements with the company prior to hiring them. Their customer service is not the best. I called so many times trying to get a status update and was consistently routed to voicemail. I emailed many times and often had to forward my messages multiple times in order to get a response. I was told our video would be delivered to us by Thanksgiving in order to share with family and friends. Since we do not live in the same state as our families anymore, we really wanted it for Christmas and received it in January, which meant that none of us were able to watch it together for the first time. I think that if we were able to set up some kind of session to talk with the company about what we wanted and were looking for in a wedding video, they would have been able to customize it to better fit our needs. The main problem was that we hired them without really knowing many details of what to expect and naturally assumed that our video would be much longer, containing all of the parts that were especially important to us. If we had known that the video would be so brief, we would have either purchased a different package (if they offer longer videos) or gone with a company that could give us what we were really looking for.
As a result, we will end up purchasing the raw footage and creating a video from that for ourselves to keep and cherish. At least they offer the raw footage as some companies do not. Unfortunately, we didn't realize we would be purchasing it...
