Style Matters and Max Abstrax understood the assignment! They were super easy to work with, understood our vibe quickly, went above and beyond, worked with our entire vendor team seamlessly, and everyone couldn't stop talking about how great the dancing was at our wedding. We so appreciate Max and Spencer and everyone at Style Matters!

DJ Disko Kitty (Margot) is absolutely incredible. When I say every song was perfect - every song was so perfect, to the point where my friends and I were saying "how did she know?!" It was the best dance party ever. She's also very easy to work with and clearly a consummate professional - she ran through everything she needed from us in one easy call, and then everything was so smooth on the day of. We cannot recommend working with her enough!! THANK YOU Margot, you are so wonderful!!!!

We were lucky enough to get "Duke" as our DJ for our November wedding. He was the BEST! He came recommended by our day-of coordinator, and that recommendation was affirmed in our first meeting when he came prepared with a list of questions that really go to the core of my and my partner's music tastes, which are quite different. To be fair, I'm more a fan of pop and country fan, and my partner is a huge believer that country isn't real music, and EDM / dance pop is where it's at. Duke was able to help us find some common ground and create a playlist that played to both of our preferences and kept the dance floor alive all night long (though my partner would likely still argue that he snuck in one too many "pop country" hits to the playlist for his taste lol). Duke brought so much fun energy to the evening (beyond just the music he also was an amazing emcee) and kept even our older guests engaged and excited to come out and party with some fun oldies toward the beginning of the night before transitioning to more traditional "club" vibes later on that the bridal party could vibe with. Duke was also great in helping us curate our bridal party intros and music for dinner, throwing in some fun Disney songs that had our guests laughing and singing along, absolutely setting the right tone for the night right off the bat. We knew we would be in good hands with Style Matters, but felt so lucky to have Duke be a part of our day and be our music deity for the night.

We got a Style Matters DJ as part of our venue—they spin at Greenhouse Loft. We were thrilled with Max, who was cheerful, responsive, and easy to talk to. We had a couple of special requests (ranging from special dances to "please don't use the phrase 'ladies and gentlemen'") and he handled it all, including a little light emceeing, without blinking. (Not literally.) Almost uniquely, he made it hard for me to want to leave the dance floor; he just "got" our vibe perfectly. Highly recommend.

Spencer from Style Matters was incredibly easy to work with. The initial call with him was informative, and the DJ pricing fit well within our budget. He was quick to answer all our questions (even when there were multiple coming at him about all kinds of different things!) The DJ we worked with on our wedding day, Margot, was exceptional, professional, and her DJing was beyond spectacular. Our meeting with Margo was about 2 weeks before our wedding, and we chatted with her about setup, which songs we absolutely had to hear (and which we really didn't want to). On our wedding day, she went above and beyond the call of duty. She set everything up herself, she worked with the other vendors for timing purposes, and most importantly, she had the dance floor PACKED from first to last song. She flawlessly transitioned one song to another, she played banger after banger, and we received SO many compliments on the music choices and the atmosphere. "Whatever you're tipping her, it's not enough!" one of our guests said. (Margot, I hope you're happy!) All in all, we were over the moon with the services provided by Style Matters.

For the most part, we really enjoyed working with Style Matters DJs! Our main point of contact, Spencer, was responsive throughout the process and the music questionnaire made it easy for us to make sure the experience was crafted to our tastes. We were assigned DJ Archi, and it was clear (both in meeting beforehand and the day of) that he'd taken the time to thoroughly review our questionnaire. He had a great sense of timing and kept the dance floor full during the reception! We did take one star off for the delayed DJ match. From the original pitch, I was under the impression we'd get our DJ about 1-2 months ahead but in reality we got matched less than 2 weeks before the event. In the end, we felt like this didn't hinder the quality of the DJ-ing, but it was nerve-racking so close to the big day. To Spencer's credit, he was very communicative during this time about his efforts to match us as soon as he could.

Esteban was an absolute gem at our wedding! He kept the party alive and the dance floor hopping all night long. His music selection was on point, and he seamlessly blended different genres to cater to all our guests' tastes. He listened to our tastes and helped provide an awesome set list. Esteban's energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and he truly understood the vibe we wanted for our special day. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ to create the perfect atmosphere. We received so many compliments and many people asked how we found such an awesome DJ. Would definitely book Esteban again!

Ryan from Style Matters was the DJ at our recent wedding and he did a fantastic job. He perfectly captured our vibe based on our requested songs and kept the dance floor lively. It was very easy to work with Spencer to get everything scheduled and everything ran smoothly. I would highly recommend using Style Matters!

We LOVED working with Style Matters and our DJ, Ryan! We had so many compliments about our wedding music. Ryan totally followed our vision of having a super lively dance floor-he used our must play, do not play list, and followed the genres/vibe we wanted. He also was so kind in coordinating music to go with my dad’s speech. Could not recommend him enough!

Overall great experience with Style Matters and our DJ, Max! All of our must-haves made the cut the night of, and the planning process was relaxed. They were really open to my detailed list of requests/flow of the night as it related to music and we really appreciated that.

We loved working with Style Matters/Spencer and our DJ, Larry! The process leading up to our wedding was professional but not overly-stressful, and it felt like the detailed info we submitted about our music preferences was absolutely taken into account. We got so many compliments about the music during + after the event—Larry was attentive and smart with his curation, had impeccable taste, and totally went with the flow and adapted when there were some technical issues at the venue beyond his control. Huge, huge thanks to Larry & Style Matters for making our wedding absolutely MAGICAL!

Devin was our DJ and he KILLED IT. We had SO many people compliment us on our DJ - I didn't want to miss a literal minute on the dance floor because Devin really listened to us and kept the party going! One of my wedding party members said something along the lines of "I thought it would peak too early with all the good songs at the beginning but it just kept going!" The end of the night came way too fast, I could have stayed and danced for another 3 hours, easily!

We worked with Style Matters DJ Duke for our wedding ceremony and reception in March 2023 at Greenhouse Loft and could not have asked for a better experience. DJ Duke was experienced, incredibly detail-oriented, communicative, and thorough throughout our planning process. He listened to our (many) musical preferences and desires and somehow managed to incorporate our lengthy list of must-have songs, keeping us and our guests on the dance floor all night long. DJ Duke kept the vibes immaculate and helped us throw the dance party of our dreams. We highly recommend!

Chris at Style Matters was our Dj for our wedding. He did an amazing job from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. He was super easy to work with, very responsive, and accommodating. He did a great job taking our reception music "likes" and creating a fun party where everyone at every age was dancing. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Spencer was our DJ at our Chicago wedding and sooooo amazing. Truly made us have the most epic fun party. Everyone was dancing the entire night. I could not be happier with Spencer. Working with Spencer and Max was a breeze. What is arguably one of the most important aspects of a wedding was the least stressful because Style Matters considers your music opinions and styles when choosing a DJ for your big day! My husband and I wanted the dance floor to be packed all night with some great hits, and Max went above and beyond. We have gotten so many compliments from family and friends following our wedding on how there was never a dull moment on the dance floor!! Max read the room while seamlessly including the music that we had requested. 100/10 could not recommend more!

Style Matters provided the dj for our wedding gat Greenhouse loft. We selected DJ Duke after looking at reviews. Duke had a short meeting with us the week before the wedding. He absolutely nailed the vibe of our wedding at each stage (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and rehearsal) and we got so many compliments on the music. Duke rally understood what we wanted and he did a great job editing the songs to fade together. I would recommend him to anyone.

We had our wedding at Greenhouse Loft which works with Style Matters DJs. The process of booking was the easiest part of planning a wedding and it was awesome! We ended up working with DJ Duke, who is so incredible! We completed a questionnaire and had a virtual meet and greet leading up to the big day, and just from that he was able to capture us as a couple and play some amazing music. Our guests could not stop talking about how good the music and how fun Duke was. We cannot thank Duke enough for creating such an awesome night!

Style Matters was super easy to work with, they were so laid back and it felt like they didn't need much from us to do their job, but they still did everything very well! We got matched with Duke about a month before our wedding. We had a call with him to go over what songs we did and didn't want to hear at our wedding and also what we wanted out of our wedding as a whole, which was to have people out on the dance floor all night! He did a great job taking what we said and then running with it. In addition to the music on the dance floor, he made sure to know exactly what music we wanted during the ceremony and during cocktail hour and dinner. Whenever we had places where we didn't know exactly how to phrase what we wanted, he was able to help us flesh out exactly what we meant. He even did a fantastic job of learning the particular style of music we wanted for the dance lesson we had so that it would go smoothly. Overall, we could not have been happier with how the evening turned out and the soundtrack to our wedding!

Our DJ Max was acceptable? I found him to be a really talented DJ, and I danced the entire night, but most of our specific requests, must here songs, and special dances were not listened to or honored. it felt like Max had an agenda and that's what he delivered - which was enjoyable - but not custom. Spencer is really great, but the first time we chatted he took the call from his car which I tried to not to read into, but he sold us on the amount of communication and dialogue we would have with our selected DJ and that wasn't delivered on. it sort of felt like he forgot our wedding? Even though we paid the full fee upfront and early. I had to reach out to follow up on some opportunities he had promised to communicate including discussing DJs from the team that would meet our style. When we heard back, he said he was still trying to pick a DJ for us and then a short after told us we could have a chat with Max (no other options were presented). When we met Max I was really hopeful - he seemed super experienced and seemed to pick up on our vibe. He even said "check me off your list," which was encouraging. We sent a spotify playlist his way. We requested more old school classic wedding songs for the majority of the evening and then the last hour more modern pop rock - feeback from our guests was that there wasn't enough old school for the older guests to enjoy. We asked for an anniversary dance which did not happen. Our wedding coordinator needed to ask him to start the couple, and parent dances. We'd requested the final song be Meatloaf's "I Would Do Anything for Love" the musical recording - I had to go an ask him to play this after he'd started a different final song - which was kind of embaressing and not ideal. Max had also offered to trim our first dance. We sent him the time stamps for what we wanted cut about a week before hand. I asked if he could send the edited version for us to practice with and I didn't hear back from him until the night before. When we arrived at the venue I had asked if we could take 5 minutes and practice with the cut - it was disheartening and stressful to find that the cut hadn't been prepared so we had to listen to the entire song in front of early guests as they arrived so we could provide the cut (again). Overall, we felt super overlooked and a low priority. But I will say I think Max is really talented, and I think our experience may have been more a fluke - it felt like there were some bigger issues going on behind the scenes that made this a less than enjoyable experience for us.

Style Matters gave us the biggest dance party I've ever experienced. Spencer threw down exactly what we were looking for and the dance floor was full for the entire reception. Spencer was always quick to respond and listened closely to our requests and needs. We knew we were in good hands as soon as we booked Style Matters. Everyone is still raving about how much fun it was. 5 stars doesn't even do it justice. Thank you so much for giving us the wedding dance party of our dreams!!!

We worked with Marco for our July wedding and it was our pleasure to do so. Style Matters was included as part of the package with our venue, Greenhouse Loft. When we first connected about a week before our wedding, we knew we’d been matched with a thoughtful professional. Marco was incredibly attentive to all of our requests on our wedding day and helped ensure the evening moved as smoothly as we hoped. We and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere he created on the dance floor—we are still getting compliments on it days later. Would book him all over again!

We had Ryan DJ our wedding. Ryan was great in all aspects from start to finish! He offered to hold a call with us to help get a better understanding of what music we were wanting. While we were a bit nervous since we didn't get to talk to Ryan until 2 weeks prior to the event, everything was still smooth! We've been to quite a few weddings where the DJ wasn't playing great music and the dance floor was dead. We didn't want this to happen and we were concerned our DJ wouldn't play our music. But, this didn't happen!! Ryan was very accommodating and did everything we asked for. We had such a great time and we're so happy Ryan was able to make this day as special as we had imagined. Our guests are still talking about how great the music was and how so many people were dancing throughout the entire night. Highly recommend!!

We worked with John as our June 2022 wedding DJ and everything that day was perfect! All the way from cocktail hour to the end of the night, the vibe was exactly what we wanted and all the songs we wanted to hear were played. Even the announcements/introductions throughout the night were spot on. Leading up to the wedding day we worked with Spencer to get all the details sorted out and us paired with a DJ. Responses were always prompt and helpful which was much appreciated. Closer to the wedding communication lacked a little bit so we got paired with our DJ (John) closer to the wedding than we had hoped. We didn't have as much time to go over the wedding day details as we would like, but at the end of the day the form we filled out explaining our must plays/don't plays/timing/details/etc was followed perfectly and we couldn't have asked for a better DJ at our wedding. I would highly recommend having Style Matters DJ your wedding/event!

We worked with DJ Duke through Style Matters for our wedding. He was very personable and took the time to get to know us and our musical tastes prior to the wedding. The event ran very smoothly and the dance floor stayed crowded all night. Duke really listened to our suggestions/preferences and found the best way to put everything into a cohesive set that was approachable for everyone. We got so many compliments on the music! Duke provided us with a full setlist afterwards so we could relive the magical evening. Couldn't be happier - highly recommend!

My wife and I opted for Style Matters for our wedding. Our Contact with Style Matters, Spencer, was very receptive at first, but as our wedding drew closer it felt like we needed to initiate all the conversations in order to receive any details or instruction. After paying our deposit we didn't hear back from Spencer until we reached out two months before the wedding to see if there were any next steps we should take. He sent over a music questionnaire (Brief breakdown of the day/first dance/must plays/ strong recommends/do not plays etc.). We spent some time filling the questionnaire and sent it back to him a month before our wedding. He let us know that he would review the questionnaire and get back to us with a DJ. We then reached out to Spencer 9 days before the wedding asking for our DJ's contact information. Spencer informed us that Julio would be our DJ and he would reach out to us shortly. We were able to touch base with Julio five days before the wedding. Julio did a great job getting everyone on the dance floor and our guests really enjoyed the night. There were some small inconsistencies however that we felt would have been resolved if we had been introduced to Julio earlier. The music played during cocktail hour was not what we had listed in the questionnaire. Our first dance song was supposed to be "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" by Stevie Wonder, we instead danced to a cover of the song. And while the music played by Julio matched the style and tone we discussed over the phone, there were some songs left unplayed from our "must plays" and "strongly recommended" from the questionnaire. Overall we really enjoyed our wedding and Julio was definitely a big part of that, but our experience with Style Matters is mixed. We felt like an afterthought at times, and if left unprompted we don't know if we would have heard back from Spencer.

We absolutely loved working with Chris, DJ MassTransit! He was an incredible DJ, creating a great vibe all night long and helped keep the dancing going until midnight. Can highly recommend working with Chris at Style Matters.

Margot at Style Matters was such a phenomenal DJ for our wedding. We had a chance to meet her before and discuss what kind of party we were looking for and she knocked it out of the park! Margot kept the party going and our dance floor was packed the entire time. She made our wedding so memorable and fun. Spencer, the owner, was also a huge help in getting us settled and paired with the right DJ and he picked an incredible DJ with Margot. Thanks for such an energetic and fun party and a huge shout-out to Margot and Spencer at Style Matters. Pick them for your wedding; you won’t be disappointed!

Style Matters DJs came to our rescue when our original wedding DJ backed out with only a few months notice. I believe the original DJ backing out was a blessing in disguise as Style Matters was absolutely incredible. We booked with Spencer, the owner, which was easy and great. We were matched with Jonathan for our wedding reception. Jonathan was wonderful to work with and the vibes were amazing. People were dancing until last call and had the time of their lives. He even strictly enforced our “do NOT play” list even when guests requested those songs, which was appreciated haha :) We would recommend them to anyone!

Duke at Style Matters did exactly what we asked him to do: create a party atmosphere where our friends felt like they could get real rowdy to our favorite jams. We started out with 70s and 80s classics, took it into a 2000s pop punk power hour around 1030 or 11PM, and closed out the night with Queen and The Killers. I didn't leave the dance floor for four hours. He did a great job.

DJ Disco Kitty made it an absolute party (in the best way)! We had many of our own song requests, and she put a few of her own spins in that were great. We were told by many of our guests that it was one of the most fun weddings they've attended. Would recommend her if you are looking for a fun dancefloor!

We had Mike as our DJ for our New Years Eve wedding and he blew it out of the water. Everyone was dancing and celebrating all night, and we couldn't have asked for it to go better! Thank you Style Matters!

DJ Esteban was great the night of our wedding! He was really easy to work with and couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our celebrations. Spencer was equally great to work with in the planning. We were worried about the sound at our venue but he personally was there to make sure everything sounded great. We would highly recommend Style Matters and DJ Esteban.

I could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! Spencer and his drummer kept the dance floor going all night - everyone had a blast. He was so easy and fun to work with, and everything from the planning to the actual day went very smoothly. I highly recommend them!!

Our daughter’s wedding was held in Chicago at the Union League Club a couple weeks ago after we postponed for a year. Spencer stayed with us! He was super fun and easy to work with. He made great suggestions for music for the on-site ceremony and for the cocktail hour. It was all perfect … the best was the reception! Spencer and his drummer kept the dance party absolutely jamming for 4 solid hours. Easily over 100 people on the floor getting down without a break! Exactly what we all needed! A total blow out dance party that pleased EVERY SINGLE GUEST. We are still hearing the raves about it! Can’t offer more stellar reviews. Had the best time and clearly so did all of our guests! DJ Max sure knows how to throw a party! We’ve never seen a dance floor so packed from end-to-end, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how many “grown ups” (parents, aunts, uncles, etc) were out on the floor. Max took our brain dump of song ideas and seamlessly threaded them into a playlist that appealed to all demographics, including weaving in some songs that we hadn’t thought of. Our only trouble was finding a time to take a break from dancing… any time we tried to leave, another favorite song came on! Highly recommend DJ Max from StyleMatters!

One word... WOW. Scotty absolutely blew us away, and more importantly, had both us and our guests on the dance floor EVERY SECOND from dinner until closing time. We had our wedding on 9/12/21, so we put together our questionnaire early summer so Spencer could match us with our DJ about a month or so before the wedding. After reviewing what we were looking for, Spencer recommended two different DJ's and we did some digging before deciding that Scotty looked like the guy for us! From the first Zoom meeting, we knew we made the right choice. He just GOT us, and really understood what type of event we were looking to have. Music is so important to us, so having someone we meshed with so well was a huge plus. I don't even know where to begin for day-of; Scott hyped up the bridal party, took care of every timeline detail, played ALL of our favorites and songs we didn't even know we wanted to hear (but definitely did), and turned it into the biggest dance party we could have ever hoped for. I did not expect to spend so much of my wedding night on the dance floor but I know there is going to be a LOT of footage of me dancing and jumping around with my friends, and I cannot WAIT to see it. THANK YOU SCOTTY - you made our wedding!

We have nothing but great things to say about Margot and Syle Matters! From the beginning, we knew we needed to find a DJ who could mix bachata, cumbia, Spanish rock, and more with early 2000s hits and some wedding classics. We met with Spencer, voiced these desires, filled out the questionnaire, and he paired us with Margot. Dang, did Margot deliver! She was absolutely fantastic. As soon as we were paired, we chatted on the phone twice, and I sent her a few more emails the week of the wedding. She was very responsive and so easy to work with the entire time. She wanted to make sure she really understood our vision. During our wedding, our dance floor was packed. I, quite literally, didn't leave it all night. At one point, she realized there was a trend of when more people were dancing and pulled me aside to discuss making some changes to our approach. She was so observant, and her suggestion kept the dance floor full until 12:30am. She was so, SO awesome to work with! We were in great hands with Style Matters from beginning to end, and you will be too. **For those of you who need control, like myself, you will need to give part of it up as Spencer works through the pairing process. It may take some time, but it will work out perfectly.**

After reading the reviews on Style Matters I figured this would be a great place to hire our DJ. Working with Spencer was fine in the beginning, but we weren’t able to find out who he would pair us up with until right before the wedding, which was a slight concern of ours. We were able to watch a 5 hour showcase of all their DJs about a month before our wedding, but I was very concerned because I didn’t feel that any would be the right fit. However, I decided that Margo was the best choice based on that showcase. I liked her music and she even played one of my favorite hip hop songs from the 90’s. We met with Margo about 2-weeks before our wedding to review our completed questionnaire laying out all of our “must plays” “likes” and “do not plays”. We discussed the vibe that we were going for, and the type of crowd that would be attending. My description specifically said that I want it to feel like a Miami club as we get deeper into the reception (going to 1:00 AM). Margo assured us that she had a clear understanding of the music that we wanted to hear. The music is such an important part for us and I wanted to make sure that our guests were jamming all night on the dance floor. We know what our family and friends like to hear to get them dancing, but we didn’t quite get there. I feel that she struggled to get people on the dance floor early on and at times the music was a bit cheesy (i.e. "Footloose"). Maybe it’s my fault for expecting a club DJ, when we hired a wedding DJ. Overall she did a good job and I appreciate that she played a lot of Prince (since I’m the biggest fan), but it really bummed me out to hear our guests telling me about ways the music could have been better. I wished that we would have been introduced to our DJ much earlier in the process so that we had more time to fine tune the playlist. I would have vetoed many of the songs. Overall I wished the music selection would have been better into the night so that we got that Miami club vibe that I was hoping for. It felt more like wedding music than club music.

Chris was SO FUN! the night ran smoothly, he helped plan a surprise for my husband, and kept everyone dancing the night away!!! plus he REALLY read our form and made sure to sprinkle in as many details as possible!!!!

From our very first in person meeting with Spencer, to our pre wedding Zoom with Max, we knew we were in good hands. Style Matters was super supportive after we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and worked with us to secure our new date. Max was our DJ and we were so grateful! He is an all around stellar human being and was so kind and fun to work with. He had our dance floor packed from start to finish and did an excellent job with the transition of songs. The Hora length was perfect and got everyone out of their seats. Our friends and family all left saying they danced the night away and it really was Max who created that environment. DJ Chris was incredible to work with from our first Zoom meeting all the way to the last song of the night on our wedding day. During cocktail hour he was able to incorporate some jazz pieces exactly like we were hoping. He was excellent at reading the crowd and getting people back on the dancefloor with just the right songs. I highly recommend Chris, and the Style Matters team as a whole!

SM provided its DJ services for my best friend's wedding and it was an absolute blast! They had everyone and their mothers on the dance floor (literally) all night. My fiancé and I had such a great time at my best friend's wedding, that we decided to hire them for ours. Let me tell you that what...this is a great group of people who are easy to work with and very understanding! I highly recommend Style Matters!!!

DJ Duke was great! He really kept up the celebratory energy the entire evening and even helped our wedding party pull of a surprise dance. I was a bit worried how the DJ would work with roughly 30 people, but he did an incredible job. I cannot recommend him enough. My parents and siblings were all thrilled with the music which is no easy feat.

We began planning our wedding pre-COVID and immediately booked Style Matters - they were highly recommended by our venue and had great reviews. COVID happened, we postponed to later in 2020, and Style Matters was SO understanding and flexible. They worked with us for our new date, and we ended up finally having our mini-wedding on 10/2. Our DJ was Duke, and he did a fantastic job blending the varying tastes of all of our guests. Really went above and beyond my expectations at every point in the wedding planning process.

Style Matters DJs is the absolute best! Our primary Wedding goals were to get our people to the dance floor and make them want to stay there... and Dustin delivered! We had guests of all ages from everywhere (Chicago, Texas, California, Germany, New York, Costa Rica, etc.), and he knew how to play a perfect combination that everyone enjoyed. Having only provided Dustin with some minor song suggestions, we had full trust in his skills of reading and energizing the room. Both Spencer and Dustin were excellent at communication and organization throughout the entire process. They gave me full confidence from the beginning. Could not recommend them enough.

Ryan was our DJ for our August wedding and did a wonderful job with a large (175 guests) wedding in a room with tricky acoustics. He kept people on the dance floor all night and was professional and straightforward in his emceeing - no cheesy gimmicks here! He was really responsive and aside from one video meeting to talk through our music questionnaire, didn't need much else from us. While the Style Matters team is filled with professional, non-cheesy and great DJs, I think it's worth mentioning that communication was a little uneven with Spencer and that the process of pairing you up with a DJ after you fill in a detailed questionnaire, closer to your event date, was a little nervewracking for us. Ryan was assigned a few weeks ahead of the wedding so it felt like we had a big to-do even as other items had wrapped up. However, if you're willing to be patient and a little persistent on that, their detailed questionnaire really guides you through thinking about your event and music and Spencer is able to pair you with someone who will do a great job!

My husband and I chose Dustin Harris for our wedding DJ via Style Matters. The entire process with Dustin was fantastic. He was professional, responsive and organized. He understood our vibe and played an excellent set for our reception. People of all ages commented on it being the best party/wedding they had been too and I’m sure Dustin (and our live drumline) had a lot to do with it. Thanks Dustin and Style Matters for making our music wedding dreams come true! Also recommend attending the Style Matters showcase in the spring to help you select your top DJ choices.

Max, from Style matters, kept our guests on the dance floor all night! My goal of dancing the night away at my wedding happened thanks to Max—this comes with a small regret that I didn’t take more photos with guests or eat the late night bites, but the dance floor was too lit! All of our guests were impressed, and our moms were very pleased as music was a high priority for them. Plus he did a great job introducing/pronouncing our bridal party with complicated names. He really nailed our wedding playlist with a variety of genres in multiple languages with minimum mic time (good sign of a DJ we almost forgot he was there until last call).

Spencer and John were great to work with! John made sure to play all the songs we wanted to hear and was an amazing DJ/MC! He made sure things went smoothly with the ceremony music, reception intros, and dances! Highly highly recommend!

If you’re looking for someone to DJ your wedding but don’t want a ‘wedding DJ’ book Style Matters! They have several awesome and talented people working for them to suit your music style. We loved Jonathan! He was able to connect with us and understand our music taste right away. We had a wide range of music requests and had certain ideas of how we wanted each part of the wedding to feel through the music. He created a music flow and vibe that took us from our ceremony, to cocktail hour, then to the reception flawlessly. Older guests and our friends alike commented on how good the music was. It was exactly the party we hoped for! Jonathan and Spencer, the owner, were both very chill and professional which made it very easy to work with them. We are so thankful to the Style Matters team for making our wedding so fun. Things couldn’t have been better!

Mission accomplished!!! People were ranting and raving over Style Matters Dj, Dustin! A Dj can make or break a wedding and Dustin went above and beyond to make it everything we wanted and more!! Coming from out of town, we made sure to set up phone calls and emails to keep connected with details leading up to the day. His response was prompt and suggestions and flexibility were incredible. Song selection was on point for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and we absolutely loved the blending/transitioning of music! He kept the dance floor moving all night long and we are still hearing from our guests that they wish the party was still going on! Our day was everything we could have dreamt of and Dustin was a large part of making that happen!!

August 2019: Max was our Style Matters DJ and I cannot put into words how great he did! Our wedding guests were dancing the entire night and the music was absolutely perfect. I attended the Style Matters Spring DJ showcase and know that the other DJs are equally as talented, you can’t go wrong with choosing Style Matters. Style Matters + DJ Dustin are solely responsible for me not taking a bathroom break for 3 hours on my wedding day. Dustin kept playing so many bangers I literally must have sweat everything out and not realized I didn't go to the restroom all night. Not to be biased, but the set he played on our wedding day is by far the best I've ever heard and the reason why our dance floor was packed the entire night. Music is my passion and being of a latino background, I was worried that we weren't going to get a good mix of English and Spanish music... thankfully I met with Dustin about 2 weeks out from our wedding day and he was super nice and pumped about the ~very extensive~ lists I provided him. He even said I should be a DJ (which is the best compliment I have ever gotten haha)! To say he nailed it is a severe understatement. Additionally, he was able to slow down the song we wanted for our first dance and it was perfect. I wish I could give Dustin and SM a million stars! Thank you Dustin!! I wanna re-live the reception so bad because I had SO much fun!

I wholeheartedly recommend Style Matters, and specifically Dustin Harris for your wedding or other event. After filling our the survey, Spencer matched us with Dustin. He DJ'ed our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We were pretty specific in what we wanted -- we didn't want your typical wedding music. We wanted a lot of 80s and 90s music, no electric slide, no cha cha slide, or other choreography dances. We met up with Dustin a few days before the wedding. We went through the survey with him in detail - he was very enthusiastic about our choices and was excited to DJ the wedding. The meeting made us feel very confident in Dustin (with good reason!) On the day of the wedding the ceremony music was perfect - we used several Vitamin String Quartet songs, which worked very well! During dinner and the reception I kept instinctively turning to my new husband and saying "I love this song!" I feel like it's pretty rare that I say that, so Dustin definitely hit the mark! Everyone on the dance floor was having a great time and I loved how he seamlessly mixed from one song to the next. I have no hesitation recommending Style Matters and Dustin!

Ryan N. arrived 1.5 hours late to our wedding. Our ceremony's officiant depended on using his microphone, and it was a major cause of stress to everyone involved with our wedding. Ryan played the wrong song for my wife’s father/daughter dance. Once we corrected him, one speaker wasn't working until the middle of the song where there was an abrupt spike in volume. This is most likely because Ryan was still moving speakers onto the dance floor while everyone was waiting for the dances to start. I made multiple requests for our first dance songs to be shortened, which Ryan did not do. We completed the Style Matters survey and communicated to Ryan multiple times our taste in music. I assumed he would pick music that reflected our favorite bands throughout our relationship, based on the information we gave him. Instead he played the most basic wedding songs which any phone with spotify could have accomplished. I lost count of the times I told Ryan to skip his songs. I asked my groomsmen to take control of the playlist. I should have expected this experience based on my email communication with Spencer Lokken. Spencer waited until the absolute last minute to pair us with a DJ after months of frequent email requests. My fiance and I are lucky that everything else in our wedding was perfect. Our experience with Ryan and Spencer was offensive and unprofessional. In the days following the wedding, Ryan has still not reached out to us to offer any explanation. Spencer responded to my google review with a condescending email that asked me to excuse Ryan’s multiple “mistakes”. Out of respect for anyone planning their wedding, I urge you not to hire from Style Matters.

Wish I could give 10 stars. We worked with Spencer in coordinating everything. Our DJ turned out to be Chris/DJ Mass-Transit. Spencer would reply to our e-mails and requests almost immediately. Chris is one of the most kind people we've ever met. Of all things complimented during our event, outside of the bride, Chris and his playlist was #2. He and Ernie (the drummer) kept people moving all night, just as we requested. Playlist catered to all people, young and old. If you're not hiring a drummer to play alongside your DJ in 2019, I'm not quite sure what you're doing. Ernie was an integral part of our night that had people scratching their heads saying - "why didn't I think of this?!" We also booked String Theory - a trio of musicians who played our Wedding ceremony. The trio was very accommodating. Our guests were arriving late and sporadically but the strings were able to "just go with it." They played our requests and all songs were recognizable and sounded beautiful, to say the least. Seeing the bride walk down the aisle to the song we shared our first kiss to was a moment I will never forget. Thank you for that moment, String Theory! To the Style Matters team - you have a special place in our heart and can only say great things. Keep up the great work.

My sister chose Style Matters for her wedding back in 2015. Her DJ was awesome, and she received so many complements from her guests about the music. When I got engaged, I knew I wanted to use Style Matters after her amazing experience! I was lucky enough that the same DJ, Andrew Pascale, was available! We had the same awesome experience with Andrew. The dance floor was packed all night, and We received so many compliments from our guests! I highly recommend Style Matters! Ask for Andrew! :)

We used Style Matters for our wedding on May 18th. The owner Spenser was incredibly professional and we had a great one-on-one meeting in the beginning. Music is extremely important to me for the wedding and I felt like I was in good hands. Our DJ was Max and he was incredible! We had the most raging dance party and all thanks to Max who kept it going. He was so nice and really understood what my partner and I wanted for our music. He understood the things I did and did not want. He even remembered that my mom had specific music choices and he was able to work it in! If anyone needs a DJ, they need to book Max at Style Matters!

We worked with Ryan from Style Matters and he was absolutely incredible. We met with him a couple weeks before the wedding and went through each tiny item in detail. He was thorough, all the while getting to know us and our taste. He really took the vibe we were hoping to create and ran with it. Our guests had a great time on the dance floor and it was packed from the first song to the last one. Prior to the dance floor opening up, he did a great job introducing speeches, taking extra care to ensure he pronounced all names correctly! He worked with our ceremony musicians to get set up and had microphones/podiums where we needed them during the ceremony and the speeches. He was responsive to requests while making sure he hit each of the songs on our must play list! He was great to work with and certainly knows how to keep guests dancing all night!

We worked with Jason for our wedding at Untitled Supper Club, and we couldn't be happier! Music was of our highest priority, and Jason fully understood and embraced our preferences and vision. When we met Jason a few months prior to the wedding, he genuinely desired to get to know us as a couple first before diving into his profession and the event logistics. It gave us confidence that Jason would tailor the night to how we wanted. We wanted the night to feel like a big party, and thanks to Jason, that desire was fully met! Not only did we dance for the majority of the night (which is rare for the bride and groom to get to do), but our guests were also dancing non-stop. At multiple points in the night, not a single guest was sitting in their chair - everyone was packed on the dance floor! Jason also went above and beyond to dress in velvet (which was part of our wedding "theme"). It made us so happy to have someone who truly cared about making the night special for us. My husband and I used Style Matters for our October wedding. We had seen Andrew Pascale's work at a previous wedding years prior, and knew we had to have him for our big day. Style Matters had no problem pairing us with Andrew, and we couldn't be happier. We met with Andrew a few weeks before the wedding to go over our musical vision for the wedding day, and Andrew delivered on the big day. From our ceremony music, to our cocktail hour, to dinner and dancing, everything was perfect. Andrew did an amazing job of reading the crowd, and knowing exactly what we wanted to hear next. Wow. I cannot say enough good things about Style Matters, including Spencer (owner) and our amazing DJ, Ryan! From the get-go, we knew working with Style Matters was going to be easy and fun. They were recommended to us from our wedding coordinator (Five Grain Events) because they weren't your usual hokey DJ, and we couldn't have selected a better company or DJ for our wedding! Spencer was very easy to work with - he listened to what we were looking for in our DJ and reception music and made a great recommendation to us. Ryan ended up being the perfect man to emcee and DJ our wedding reception! We met with Ryan about 2 weeks before our reception to go over the vibe and type of music we wanted played during cocktail hour, dinner, special dances, and the dance party. Ryan completely hit it out of the park the entire night. He was a no-fuss emcee, guiding the night along perfectly. We told him we wanted a crazy fun dance party, and he delivered! Our guests were on the dance floor the entire night! Ryan was great at reading the room - he switched songs to infuse energy, played some mixes to spice things up, and played some of our suggested songs to get people on the dance floor. I swear, there were times I thought he was reading my mind. When we got to the last dance song (Prince, Don't Stop Me Now - highly recommend!), we still had at least 50 people on the dance floor! Our guests are still raving about how our wedding had the best dance party they've ever seen. If you're looking for a DJ that play some good music, skip the hokey stuff (i.e. Chicken Dance), and will truly give you an amazing night to remember, I highly recommend going with Style Matters. We had Duke as our Style Matters DJ for our wedding and we were so impressed with him! Duke really took the time during our conversations leading up to our wedding to get to know our style and what our guests would enjoy. Day of, he coordinated well with our jazz trio during cocktail hour to ensure that the wedding party introductions to prerecorded music flowed well with the live jazz. Duke can really read a crowd and knows how to blend a variety of songs and beats to keep the party going, whether that is higher energy or a slower jam. Our guests were on the dance floor all night. We would highly recommend Duke and the Style Matters community for a wedding or special event DJ!

We got married 9/28/18 at Ovation Chicago. Our Style Matter's DJ was Dustin and he did a fantastic job from the initial interview through the event. We had ambitions for a 5+ hour dance and Dustin (and guest appearance from Spencer) kept it going the entire time. We provided him with comprehensive list of our music preferences and his song choices both on and off list were perfect. I could not have crafted a better playlist myself. My husband and I had some very specific guidelines/asks for the DJ we would be hiring for our wedding reception. Style Matters was a perfect fit (in particular - Max!), followed to the letter exactly what we asked for. That included a long playlist of songs hand chosen by us, played in a specific order. We completed a questionnaire in advance, detailing our vision for the part music would play in our event. They were conscientious that it was important to meet our expectations and that definitely happened. We also hired String Theory (a trio with 2 violinists and a keyboardist) through Style Matters. They played for the first hour of our reception, prior to the DJ and were very receptive to playing the songs we requested/asked them to learn as well as playing their own. The theme from Game of Thrones was their choice and a huge hit! Highly recommend Style Matters and we will definitely be using them at the very next opportunity.
