I hired Amanda to do my hair. When I saw her pictures initially, I thought that the product would be amazing. She came to my house to do my hair and the hair for my bridesmaids. The first issue I had was that she was having my bridesmaids hold ...the bobby pins and hand them to her. I felt that was unprofessional.
Styles for the Aisles also did my makeup and my bridesmaids’ makeup. The makeup was good. However, the contract I signed NEVER stated that it was 10 extra dollars for lashes. Her contract changed AFTER I had signed with her, yet she charged me the extra money anyway, which is not professional considering I was provided with one contract initially, that did not include that price. My bridesmaids also didn’t expect that they would have to pay more than the flat fee they were told based on the contract I was provided.
One of my biggest issues was that I asked for a half up, half down curled hairdo. I gave her a reference picture and asked for tight curls. She asked me specifically if I liked looser or tighter curls. I specifically said tight. My hair looked nothing like the picture I provided and I had to have my best friend/one of my bridesmaids fix my hair for the next 2 hours before the ceremony. Additionally, I had a hair clip. It fell out of my hair less than 30 minutes after she left. Additionally, she said my hair would not look exactly like the picture because I didn’t have “layers” even though the picture shown did not have any indicator of layers in the model’s hair. Not only that, but every single one of my bridesmaids had to have their hair redone by one of our professional hairstylist friends on my wife’s side. (The first picture is what I got, the second picture was way closer to what I asked for/what my best friend did to fix it).
I would NOT recommend this stylist to anyone. If I wouldn’t have had my best friend there that has some experience in hair, I would’ve been extremely upset and distraught at my hair, pictures, and the ceremony.
To be perfectly honest, it’s taken me months to cool down about this and if I could’ve gotten all of my money back, I would’ve, but I was way too focused on my wedding day and didn’t want to have a miserable day.
