We worked with Amani (photographer) and Jenny (for contact). We were a bit hesitant to select a wedding photographer online, but Jenny provided excellent communication, and Amani's photos were really excellent, capturing feelings and moments other photographers might have missed. We recommend them with enthusiasm.

Stylish & Hip Weddings were fantastic from the moment we were warmly greeted by Jenny, the owner, in her cool apartment, shooting the shit about old New York, music and the like. She made us feel like we had known her for years! Jenny also offers great advice on wedding prep overall and it is well received. She should branch out in to a full service for wedding planning and such as she knows what she's talking about! Although she couldn't shoot our wedding, Jenny highly vouched for her number two, Jonica. Looking at her portfolio we knew we would be getting a stellar photographer. On the day of our wedding Jonica struck a perfect balance of being laid back in her approach, yet directive with her instructions. She was so natural at identifying moments, poses and backdrops and it all felt so organic! Many of my guests commented about how pleasant and chill she was which in a stressful time such as a wedding is exactly what you want! She was not in your face at all but knew how to blend in and yet capture the brilliant highs of our special day. Receiving the link to view our photos just 3 weeks after our wedding was awesome in and of itself - what speed! The photos are absolutely fantastic. Jonica captured a breadth of amazing shots from small decorative details which I wanted, to more formal family portraits to candid fun shots. She did an amazing job and for a very decent price. Look no further, this is your photographer!!

I HIGHLY recommend Stylish & Hip Weddings! My husband and i used them as our wedding photographer this past July and we couldn't have been happier. Jenny was FANTASTIC! Super responsive, empathetic to budget-conscious brides and the pictures, which we received just a few weeks after our wedding, are priceless. Beyond my expectations. Jenny fit in so well at the wedding that our guests thought she was just another friend! She also gave us super helpful advice about filling out our marriage certificate accurately plus giving a thank you toast to our guests. Jenny was great! She showed up right on time and we appreciated her calm assertiveness in the hectic hour leading up to the ceremony. She did a wonderful job catching the fun energy of the dancing portion of the night. She does candids very well. We also appreciated how quickly the edited photos were ready and available for viewing online. Thank you! In the posed shots, I must admit that she did overlook some things such as crumpled clothes or trash bags in a corner. I’m happy with those photos because of the wonderful memories they evoke, but I do wish she had noticed those things, as they are a bit distracting and could have easily been remedied at the time. (I might try to photoshop those out.) Overall we are very happy with the photos though.

We had the honor of having Jenny (the owner of Stylish & Hip) as our wedding photographer a few weeks ago. Needless to say she is the BEST! She is bubbly, fun to take photos with and has an amazing eye for capturing the perfect moments. Our photos are absolutely AMAZING! Stylish & Hip was perfect. From the moment we met Jenny, we knew we found our photographer. She is warm, upbeat, and exceptionally talented. While we did extensive research on photographers in the NYC area, she was the only photographer we met with and we couldn't be more pleased. When the Most Reverend Matt Levy and partner in crime / wife Jenny Macfarlane zoom up onto the DUMBO sidewalk, on an effortlessly stylish Italian scooter, you know you are in for the ride of your life. Handshakes, hugs and pleasantries exchanged and Matt was his element. As a Master of Ceremony I can honestly say I have witness no better. From top to tail he oozed charm, wit and ever so much New York style. (Even in his wife's sunglasses) His words captured 17 years of love, laughter, friendship and all the other little things that make our relationship. If you want to have heaps of fun and barrels full of laughter during your wedding. Mr. Levy is the man for you. Jenny is far from your typical wedding photographer. For a start she is the epitome of a New York punk rocker. Effortlessly cool, laid back, yet with a real passion for her craft. To say her photographs are wonderful is an understatement. How she's managed to get so many great shots of two very introvert Scots is beyond us. From climbing on top of cars to hunting down the perfect location there is nothing she can't or won't do to get the shot that will last a lifetime. Jenny is "pure magic" as we say back home. Jenny and her team were incredible to work with - they were very organized, professional yet easy going and managed our large families very well. She was never intrusive yet got all the great shots of the wedding, party and everything in between. We also did a photobooth which was a huge hit. The pictures were ready so fast and the quality of her printing and the photo booth is awesome. Definitely recommend!

We loved our pictures, had a blast with our photographer Kristin, and I loved how easy everything was to coordinate. Jenny was very helpful in advance, explained things clearly, and was easy to work with - something of great value when you have tons of other things to take care of. Kristin was great! She took great pictures and we barely noticed her around during the reception - which was exactly what we wanted! Basically we got exactly what we wanted for less than other photographers we were exploring.

Jenny & Matt, It is hard to put into words how much you both made our wedding day the best day of our lives. Jenny, you are truly a gifted photographer. Every photo is perfect, looking through them for the first time brought back pure happiness to the point I cried with joy. Jenny, you have managed to capture the happiness that myself and Ashley shared in every image. Matt, what can we say about Matt? Matt was able to put who we are into words better than we could ever have expected or hoped for. The love, seriousness and of course the humour that were our vows captured who we really are. Your role in our day really brought the personal touch of warmth and togetherness to the ceremony. Matt and Jenny, it felt we were amongst old friends with you both. Our entire experience will always be unforgettable, we wouldn't of changed a thing and it's something we will be forever grateful for.

After a lot of back and forth, my spouse and I decided to elope in NYC - which I promptly typed into Google. Immediately, Stylish and Hip Weddings popped up and I was blown away with their photography, spirit and overall approach to exchanging vows. My first email to Jenny was immediately responded to and that just set the tone for incredible customer service, great suggestions, a fun outlook and the exact tone I wanted set for my wedding day. After all is said and done, I am extremely happy with how our wedding turned out and I would not change a thing (except maybe how much I sweated. That was embarrassing). Jenny and her team were amazing throughout the whole planning process. From inviting us to her house for a drink and dropping off a candle during the holiday season, we always felt very well taken care of. She also uses a few different surveys to help get to know the couple as well as possible in order to tailor the experience to their wants and needs. Our wedding day was VERY hot and Jenny did a great job of taking a lot of wonderful photos in a short amount of time as to not keep people uncomfortable for too long. Jenny's personality is very warm and comforting and helps put everyone at ease on a stressful day.

Jenny photographed our wedding in April 2015. I spent hours researching photographers online looking for one who could capture candid and quirky moments (in addition to standard posed shots) and Jenny really came through for us. Although the wedding was rather traditional, we still wanted the photos to have some "personality" and Jenny got that. She was lovely to work with, responsive and even stayed late when our cake cutting ran a bit behind schedule! We're really happy with the photos. Thanks Jenny!

We are so happy that we found Jenny and Matt! Unique, warm and caring people, that made our wedding the perfect venue. Also very good with our kids aged 5 and 2. Very easy to communicate with both before hand and during the ceremony. A lot of ideas when it came to the photo-session and still very perceptive to our ideas. We love Jenny and Matt and would warmly recommend them at anytime.

We used Jenny to photograph our wedding this past June and couldn't have wished for anything more. Jenny was incredibly helpful throughout the process and always responded very quickly to my emails and questions. She was a huge asset on the day of the wedding, helping me get to the venue and setting up the most amazing first look for my husband and I. She made the "posed" pictures quick and fun and then was very innocuous for the rest of the night. Most importantly we ended up with better pictures than I could have imagined. They are spontaneous and fun and beautiful and really capture the essence of our celebration. We also used Jenny's husband Matt for our photo booth and those pictures turned out equally as amazing. It poured for our entire (outdoor) wedding and neither Jenny or Matt seemed to notice or care. They are true professionals determined to make you have the best day of your life! They are some of the best photographers around for half the price. I wouldn't have chosen anyone else. I would highly recommend them!

We loved Jenny from Stylish & Hip Weddings! She was so easy to work with- very laid back and fun, while still taking care of business and making sure we got all the photos we wanted. She quickly and easily corralled our family for formal portraits (no small feat), and was done before anyone could get tired. Spending time with Jenny as she photographed our wedding actually turned out to be one of the surprise highlights of the wedding. The photos came out gorgeous, and we loved looking through them. This was the first thing i booked when we set our date! Jenny was so open to our ideas, requests, and I felt 100% comfortable giving her the lowdown on any family photo hot spots because she was so sweet. Jenny and her second shooter gave awesome direction, were down for whatever we wanted, and we all felt immediately at ease with them. We also got our photos back within a week and a half! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding photography experience!

Stylish & Hip Weddings Photography did an amazing job at our wedding! The entire team was fun, energetic, enthusiastic, and just great in every way! The photographers, the Photo Booth, the videographer - all got the job done but not in the way that annoys the guests. They listened to our requests, met our needs, and exceeded our expectations. We were so happy at the wedding, and that was just the beginning. Their professionalism after the wedding was even more impressive. The speed at which they turned around the proofs (carefully selecting and pre-editing their favorites) was quite impressive. Then when we finally got around to selecting the pictures for the albums, they turned that around equally as fast and the layout was amazing (and the patience of dealing with my minor tweaks that were probably not necessary to begin with but my OCD got the better of me was very reassuring). The video editing was fabulous and fast too - and again, when I had tweaks, a new version was in my inbox within a few hours. I can honestly say that within 3 months of our wedding we had 3 complete photo albums as well as a fully edited video (3 different versions of various lengths!) and we couldn't be happier! I would highly recommend Jenny and her team to any couple looking for a wedding photographer who can do it all!

We are from Brisbane Australia and stumbled upon Stylish & Hip Weddings after looking at a lot of NYC Photographers- for us there was no-one else even to consider after seeing their amazing pictures. On our actual wedding day, Jenny was incredible. So full of love and passion and excitement, she helped make our day incredible. Then receiving the pictures- OMG! They are just incredible- she has such an eye for great shots! Coming to a different country to be married is incredibly daunting, but she was incredible, and we can't thank her enough. Definitely recommend!

We worked with Jenny for booking and planning and Mariliana for our actual photography. Both Jenny and Mariliana were very easy to work with, personable and professional. Jenny was very responsive and detailed with planning how we wanted our photos. She provided some recommendations for photography sites. Mariliana was super sweet and an awesome photographer. Our photos came out beautiful. She was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. It was like being photographed by a close friend! Her eye for photography was exactly what we needed for our New York City elopement. She followed us all around Central Park and Times Square trying to get the perfect photos. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a photographer. We did notice some mistakes in two of our edited photos. This review is a few months overdue, but I've been spending all this time looking back at our amazing wedding photos taken by Mariliana at Stylish and Hip Weddings. Tracking down the Stylish and Hip Wedding website was so bittersweet...FINALLY I had found the wedding photographer that could capture exactly what we wanted - all the unfiltered, genuine and fun moments of one of the only days we will ever have both of our families together! I assumed that came at a pretty hefty price tag. Wrong! Jenny was super responsive and flexible and really helped us tailor a photography package that fit within our tight wedding budget. My husband and I are not major hams when it comes to the camera so we really wanted someone who could blend in and take pictures without obviously taking pictures...Mariliana nailed it! Between Jenny, Mariliana, and the Stylish and Hip Wedding editing team, they really made some magic happen. It even rained on our wedding day, forcing us to hold our ceremony in a pretty dark restaurant and forego some of the outdoor group pictures, but everything turned out amazing. I recommend Stylish and Hip Weddings to everyone and anything. Honestly, I get all teary eyed thinking about how awesome it was! I'm going to go look at our pictures again.

I was referred to Jennifer MacFarlane at Stylish & Hip Weddings by her wonderful husband the Most Reverend Matt Levy who served as the officiant at our wedding. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am. Jenny was quick to respond to all of our questions and she was so helpful with keeping us on track with what we needed to do with our wedding planning. When our initial wedding venue had an unfortunate closure just months before our date, and we had to plan an entirely new wedding with new vendors on a new date in just a few months, she was a pleasure to deal with. She had our backs and she was very helpful and understanding in continuing to work with us. Jonica was our day-of photographer and Frank was our day-of videographer. The shots of our ceremony and reception are amazing. Both Jonica and Frank were very nice and helpful throughout the night, offering suggestions as to where we should take some posed pictures. The best part though I think, was they were able to capture our whole wedding from beginning to end! We wanted a relaxed, party-style wedding with a bit of traditional stuff thrown in, and they totally got that and now I have pictures to prove it. Stylish and Hip was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. At first we were disappointed that Jenny was unavailable, but after corresponding with Kristin, we knew that she was the perfect fit for our orchard wedding. She was so professional, kind, and easy to work with. She captured beautiful moments and staged lovely portraits. Most of all, Kristin made us feel so at ease on our wedding day. She paid attention to all of the small details that really mattered to us, and I never worried that a special moment or detail was being overlooked. She really made the whole experience that much more amazing. When we got the photographs back and shared them with family and friends, everyone was blown away. My husband and I eloped from Scotland to get married in NYC on 5th September 2014. Jenny and Mariliana were both great to work with. Jenny was super responsive and we took care of all the logistics via email before the wedding day. She was flexible in creating a custom package for us too. We met Mariliana once before the wedding to go over the timeline, and she was very helpful with that. On the day of, she was completely unobtrusive, and her presence felt very natural. She was able to handle the tight timeline for all the photos on such a hectic day. The photos turned out amazing, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants natural photography that's not stuffy!

From the moment I emailed Jenny MacFarlane, I knew she was going to be the right fit for our wedding. She was thrilled to be working with us and was even willing to work with me on a package that would suit the needs of our wedding. She was a delight the day of our wedding. She spent the time to make us feel comfortable during our individual and family photos. She even was able to wrangle a 2nd shooter for our wedding that was able to get beautiful pics of our ceremony and reception. Jenny shot our wedding and my husband and I couldn't have been happier! From the beginning, Jenny was responsive when we reached out, she went to distance to make sure we were pleased with the wedding photography package, and she was friendly and welcoming along the way. Kristin was our photographer at Stylish & Hip Weddings and she did an awesome job. She showed up early and rolled with the punches as we hit a few snags - mom running late, crying toddler, new location for family portraits, etc. The photos all came out really well and I think Kristin did a great job of capturing all of the little moments and making our couples portraits look natural and not stiff. I also think Stylish & Hip is a great value - the prices were competitive and our package got us 7 hours of photography, an album and all of the digital negatives, which is pretty awesome. The team handling our photo printing and the album are awesome too. We asked for a custom photo size for our printed photos and they were able to get the photo printed exactly as we asked. I definitely recommend working with Stylish & Hip Weddings for your wedding photography.

Jenny from Stylish and Hip weddings was the best photographer for our big day! From our first meeting with Jenny, Theo and I felt completely comfortable around her. She came as a recommendation from our wedding planner at The Nomad Hotel and were thrilled that she new the space. Jenny captured the best moments of the day with her documentary style images. When it came time for the day she was prompt (early even), so fun and easy going, she actually made taking wedding photos fun! We wandered all over our neighborhood taking awesome photos that reflected us and our lifestyle. The end result were amazing photos. What we really wanted was photos that captured moments, not stiff, posed unnatural, overtouched wedding photos (aka what most photos are out there). Not only did Jenny do a beautiful job with my own wedding photos, she photographed my best friend's wedding in which I was the made of honor while she was 8 months pregnant! And still did a stellar job.

Jenny is a joy of a person and a delight to work with. She has THE best attitude and made our day so easy and fun. Jenny & Todd were truly amazing to work with, always positive and helpful even in moments of stress (as it always happens during weddings). Jenny's pictures were nothing I've ever seen before, they had so much personality and emotion, I still look at them every single day. Our wedding included different cultures, events, a lot of dancing, people from all around the world and her pictures do so much justice to how crazy and emotional the events were. She's always smiling and just being with her will make you feel relax on your wedding day. Plus, she shot so many pictures and gave us all of them, which is rare to find with wedding photographers. I originally found her in NY Mag under "affordable" photographers, but to me she is a million times better than those "classic" photographers that do the same shot at all the weddings and are much more expensive. She has so much experience with different cultures that she can adapt to everything and get the best pictures out of it. Todd was truly amazing too, his video camera was small so it wasn't too invasive for the guests, I didn't want to have a full crew on the dance floor that would stop people from having fun. He made an amazing 15-minute video that was hosted online and that we were able to share with all of our guests. I cherish that video so much, it is a great keepsake for us that will live on forever and that you can watch whenever you feel like it instead of having to go home and put a DVD in... Highly recommended, love you guys!

Jenny and her colleagues were by far the most amazing cast of professionals we could have hired for our wedding. Our pictures came out far more amazing than we could have ever imagined. They were prompt, eager to get to work, and happy to accommodate any "visions" for pictures we had of our own. Jenny is not the type of photographer who is constantly in your face, she is respectful of the events of your big day while understanding the importance of capturing every moment. Mariliana shot our wedding and we could not be happier. She was very unobtrusive, very quick with any set-ups and a very calming presence. Our wedding was on a boat and she did her homework to make sure she know exactly who we were and what we were looking for in our photos. I have had three daughters get married with photographers present.
