‘music snob’ and I had a LOT on my ‘do not play’ list and a LOT of silly details about how I wanted music to be played lol!!! My list of music requests was obnoxiously long and could probably have filled up like 5 whole weddings 🙊 Zach was literally so kind, understanding, patient with me and took all of my insane requests into consideration - and was able to navigate my excel sheet of like 18384746627281 songs with ease!!! I couldn’t have imagined the night going any better than it did. He did a perfect job. Also giant shoutout to Jane for doing all of the coordinating for our big day and for suggesting Zach as one of the DJ options after our first meeting. I loved the Stylus website because you could easily listen through mixes from the other DJs to see who would fit your style.

d she knocked the music selections out of the park during our reception! The playlist during dinner was perfect -- I could not believe how many favorite songs of mine ended up in there (not requested on my part!) while she curated the perfect vibe for dinner and conversation. And the dance floor could not have been more electric! I had many friends joking that they couldn't leave the dance floor to go to the bar, because every time they tried, a new song came on that they just had to dance to. DJ Karin also did an amazing job working with us to edit and cut down our first dance song, which was initially almost 6 minutes long. We could not have been happier with our wedding day experience!

incredible energy. We had a mix of music tastes—R&B and pop from the 2000s to today on my end, and oldies and timeless classics from my partner—and Jen blended it all perfectly. It never felt disjointed; the entire night flowed seamlessly with songs that had everyone on the dance floor, from our young niece and nephew to my 94 year old grandma and all friends in between! Beyond the music, Jen was a total pro with the timeline and logistics. She kept everything running smoothly—whether it was coordinating the ceremony music (our friend sang live) to perfectly timing key moments. We felt supported and totally at ease all night, which let us really soak in every second (as it flew by in a blur). Guests haven’t stopped talking about how great the music and energy were, and we couldn’t agree more. DJ Jen is not only incredibly talented, but also warm, detail-oriented, and so much fun. If you're looking for someone who truly gets the assignment and brings the party—she’s it. Book her now and thank us later!

ad our intake call with Jane she didn't even hesitate - she knew immediately that Jim was the right fit for us. And she couldn't have been more right! Our wedding was "Krautrock" themed - think Kraftwerk, Can, Neu!, and Harmonia. If that means nothing to you - you're not alone! They are very niche bands from the 70's German rock scene...And Jim knew every one of their catalogs! The whole process honestly felt like putting together a party playlist with an old friend. Jim did a great job of keeping true to our vision while steering us in the right direction to keep the dance floor hopping all night. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stylus to anyone looking for a wedding DJ. Jim was truly awesome and given how niche our music taste is I can't help but think they have the right fit for anyone.

would be entirely on us to get the energy up so that people would dance. But from the moment the dance floor opened to the very last song, it was PACKED. The transition to a new song that was even better than the last really made it hard to leave the dance floor, and everyone kept telling us how great the music was. Literally everyone we spoke to told us that our DJ was the best they’d ever seen at a wedding. We also skipped all the traditional things (grand entrances/first dance/cake cutting, etc), and she was totally on board with our vision of basically throwing a rager without the traditional interruptions. Because of this, we were worried that everyone would get tired after a while with so much extra time for dancing, but that wasn’t a problem at all. Nobody wanted to stop dancing, and the energy lasted long after the reception ended and we headed to our after party. She also handled the music and audio for our ceremony, which was in the woods on a windy day alongside a very loud and roaring creek after five days straight of rainfall. We were very concerned that nobody would be able to hear our vows above all the noise, but Mariko’s sound equipment and microphone made it easy for all 140 of our guests to hear us perfectly. We loved working with Mariko. Anybody looking for a great DJ in the New York area should hire her, especially if you want the energy of your wedding to be organic and vibey and fun all night long.

Everyone at the wedding told us how good the music was. She took the time to get to know our musical interests, but we mostly let her do her thing. The music felt very us without us having to think about it at all. She is able to keep the dance floor filled or have a calmer place to hang and chat with everyone. All aspects of the wedding felt like their own moment, the welcoming was different from the cocktail hour was different from the dinner. It made our wedding feel like an epic multipart event but was still truly us. We feel so lucky to have had her for our event!! She was so good that we already want to figure out another event to hire her for... And we just finished planning the wedding. So, to reiterate, DJ Mariko is the absolute best! Get her for your wedding.

rtant and treasured loved ones—do not underestimate how good it will feel to DANCE! DJ Mariko is the perfect guide for that celebration. Mariko can read the vibe of the room like no other. She kept all our guests happy with hits for the children through the seventy-somethings. My siblings and I kept doing double takes because even our PARENTS were on the dance floor (“has this ever happened??”). Mariko kept the party going seamlessly until the very end of the night. We had so much fun dancing, in fact, we completely missed the dessert table. An actual quote from the dance floor: “I’m DYING for a bad song, I need to take a break so bad” Another quote: “I may never walk again why did I wear these shoes??” Jane was also fantastic to work with — she listened carefully to our needs, was kind and responsive, and helped match us with the perfect DJ for our special day. He was also incredibly helpful with announcements, flexible, and responsive to a couple of last minute needs. We were a bit nervous looking for a DJ--given some weddings we've been to with odd transitions, harsh genre shifts, or aggressive "everyone better get on the dance floor" vibes--but as soon as we found Paul, we had no more worries. Jen’s energy was a breath of fresh air: down-to-earth, attentive, and just a very cool person overall. Our guests (and other vendors!) were raving about how much they enjoyed the music. We actually don’t consider ourselves big dancers and yet we were on the dance floor with our guests all night! I don’t know how she does it but she reads the room so well and it made for the best time. Our dance floor was going all night long, we literally did not want to leave it. Before the wedding, we met with Mariko a few times to touch base when we had questions. She was so thorough in her preparation for our event, and asked questions about things we wouldn’t have even considered to make sure everything was seamless. Jane from Stylus was also such a key part of helping us find the right DJ for us, and working with her was a breeze! WE LOVE YOU MARIKO AND STYLUS!!

DJ Amber Lynn knows her music, and she puts in an extraordinary effort to ensure that the music matches the couple and the ambiance they’re seeking to a tee. Throughout our planning, she asked thorough questions to fully understand our musical tastes, our goals for each part of our wedding and reception, and had us complete forms that articulated our likes, dislikes, must-plays, do-not-plays, etc. With that information, DJ Amber Lynn masterfully curated the music for our entire day, from pre-ceremony welcome music to the very last dance. We have eclectic tastes, from ’60s garage, to girl groups, to ’80s pop, to punk classics, free jazz, and obscure soul. She managed to weave together our disparate musical preferences in a cohesive, coherent way that never felt forced or awkward — her transitions were perfect! Moreover, she has impeccable timing and room read, knowing exactly when our guests were ready for more relaxation or active partying.
