What Set Them Apart for Me Professionalism with a Personal Touch Kyle and Barbro remembered the little details that mattered to us across three multi-day, multi-cultural events. They were responsive, kind, and always ready to help. I never felt like I was asking too much—they handled everything with grace and a smile. Fair and Transparent Pricing They catered three events for us, ranging from 50 to 200 guests, with customized menus and signature drinks. Unlike other caterers, they didn’t charge extra for customizations—they only billed us for the food. Kyle was open and honest about costs, always ensuring fairness and clarity. We had multiple tastings to refine our menus and drinks, and I never felt pressured or nickel-and-dimed. Spectacular Taste and Customization Henna Night: We had an Indian-American fusion menu. My Indian relatives said Kyle’s chutneys were better than homemade. The custom desserts—thandai mousse cake and chocolate peanut butter cake—were phenomenal. Guests even asked to take leftovers home! Rehearsal Dinner: Italian menu without beef. Both the meat and vegetarian lasagna were a hit, and the tiramisu was perfect. Wedding Day: We’re Pacific Northwest salmon snobs, and Kyle’s salmon was one of the best we’ve ever had. Cooking it perfectly for 100 guests is no small feat. The crepe station and sweet/savory pretzels were also raved about. Exceptional Service Their team was incredibly responsive and detail-oriented. All our events were at home, and they did multiple site visits to plan layout and logistics. On Henna Day, when I couldn’t eat or drink because of the henna, Barbro appeared like magic—feeding me, giving me water, and checking in constantly. On the wedding day, she coordinated vendors, helped with my dress, kept the processional on cue, and made sure I was hydrated and composed. Barbro and team handled everything so smoothly that I only heard about minor hiccups the next day. After each event, my family kept telling me how amazing the entire team was. Their service delivery was flawless. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Seattle, and Kyle’s cooking easily ranks in our top 5 of over 100 New American restaurants we’ve tried in the Seattle area. From start to finish, Kyle was warm, professional, and a joy to work with. He was open to our ideas, crafted a kid-friendly menu with care, and paid close attention to allergies. We even shared cocktail inspiration and his team delivered beautifully—so much so that guests were asking us for the recipe afterward! On the day of the wedding, his whole team was amazing—efficient, kind, and always smiling. They created a meal that felt elevated yet deeply personal, and helped make our wedding feel both elegant and relaxed. I can’t recommend Kyle enough for any couple who truly cares about food and hospitality. A total standout.

responsive to any questions and emails we had from the start, even agreeing to a zoom meeting with us. At my wedding, the team was so kind. They went above and beyond doing many extra things such as helping out with decorations, helping with my bustle, and even hand washing my plates when they thought the dishwasher too old to use. The food was absolutely delicious, every guests loved it (I recommend the braised short ribs). I will always recommend in the future as working with them for my wedding was the best decision I could make. Thank you again Kyle, Barbro and the entire team!

ugh. Throughout the entire process, Kyle was so accommodating, knowledgeable and pleasant to interact with; we always looked forward to our meetings with him. Kyle's food is so delicious. We had multiple guests gush about the food, saying it was the best wedding food they've ever had and asking who the caterer was. In the early stages of our wedding planning, my husband said he wanted to the food to be one of the highlights and with Subtle Approach we accomplished that in a way greater than we even imagined!

le cooked was honestly better than any restaurant I’ve ever tasted. All their other food was top notch, too. I was surprised with their vegetarian option – roasted cauliflower with a special butter sauce and cherry tomatoes. I love meat but when we tried the cauliflower at the tasting, I was surprised that vegetables could taste that good. For our tasting session, they offered it to us free of charge which we soon found out was because they were so confident in the quality of their food. We even showed up to the tasting 30 minutes late so the food had been sitting and we still loved it. Before Subtle Approach, we tried a tasting with a much more popular caterer who charged us $100 and the food was terrible. Subtle Approach was very accommodating to us changing our order many times before the wedding and handled all the necessary rentals for dining. Their prices were around average or maybe a bit below average when compared to quotes we got from a few other caterers. Overall, I would highly recommend Kyle’s team at Subtle Approach for any catering event because of how amazing their food is! Given the slightly below average price, they are an exceptional value!

and professional. Now….for the food. Our guests were raving about how good it was. It was a simple Italian buffet, but not your ordinary dishes. Kyle made some great recommendations when we discussed the menu items. We will be spreading the word on Subtle Approach Catering and hope to have a future opportunity to use them.

n mind, my husband and I are the only vegans in our families so to have the hard core meat eaters rave about the food meant so much! My uncle had never had vegan food and it was all praise from him. Also, my sister has an olive oil allergy and Kyle made her a special olive oil free plate. He was so understanding and accommodating. If you want a vegan menu (or any other!) at your wedding you must use Subtle Approach Catering! Kyle will not disappoint. Plus, he and Barbro are authentic, kind, humble and beautiful people to have at your special day. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience working with them was. We had a year wait after the tasting and we both daydreamed throughout the year, saying we could not wait to have the food again! It was magnificent! Thank you Kyle, Barbro and team! The food was so amazing, but my personal favorite were the parmesan cheese puffs, compressed watermelon (so creative!), steak bites, and short rib. Our guests raved about it as well – even the vegans! They were great at handling allergies + food needs. They were by far and away a phenomenal vendor. Wedding planning is stressful enough; hiring this team will make it much easier!

(And I work for a touring company, I’ve seen eaten a lot of catering food.). 10/10 I can’t recommend enough!
