Sue Takes Photos

of all of our photographic opportunities. She spent a lot of time getting to know us and talking us through what to expect on the day. One of her focus points is candids, and the preview gallery we have seen is full of those special private moments, and so we are really, really excited to see the full set of pictures. Overall, she is a really nice, genuine, and personable individual, and all of our guests had a great time interacting with her and getting to know her. We highly, highly recommend Sue for your wedding or other photography needs!

irst vendor that we considered for photography (recommended by our venue) had an extremely rigid policy around reserving the right to use our photos for their own marketing (or else require us to pay them $500 lol). Sue had the complete opposite stance on this, which put us as ease immediately from our first call. She combines her artistic and creative talent (in addition to photography, she is an excellent classical musician) with a unique perspective from a variety of life experiences enhanced by her extensive travels. We love the way she's captured us, our family, our pets, etc. for both our engagement shoot (included in her package) as well as our wedding. Her prices are extremely reasonable given the quality of work and the level of service she and her team provides. We highly recommend anyone to consider her.

y! Every image is stunning and she did a fantastic job herding my crazy family into stunning portraits while also capturing everyone's personality! I adore all the shots of people laughing and having fun and at the same time I was left speechless by the gorgeous posed shots that captured so much amazing detail from our venue. I got my photos back while on a weekend girls trip and everyone was physically screaming each time I swiped to a new picture! Sue takes so much time and care to get to know you to capture your relationship perfectly. When I look at the photos of my husband and I, they perfectly capture moments I will cherish forever. There are drama shots, romantic moments, goofy laughs, and they all feel completely true to our relationship. Her team was amazing and there was always someone nearby to "get the shot!", and my guests told me they felt like celebrities! Communication was a breeze and our photos came back much earlier than I was expecting. I truly couldn't recommend her more, she was such a special part of my day and I will remember her each time I look at the photos!

great photos but is also someone you enjoy spending time with—because you'll spend most of your wedding day with them! Sue was absolutely perfect in both regards. The photos turned out beautifully, capturing all the special moments, and she and her team were so relaxed and fun to work with throughout the day. If you’re looking for a photographer who will make your day even more enjoyable and give you stunning photos to cherish forever, I highly recommend Sue Takes Photos.

he way to Maine just because the location was important to us. She guides shot ideas that came out beautiful even for those who feel nervous getting their picture taken. On our wedding day, Sue and her team went far above and beyond not only taking breathtaking pictures and video, but also helping to guide the day and support us during some unexpected moments! She is kind, thoughtful, and professional. Sue joined in with our family and friends and made our day even more magical. We cannot thank her enough for all that she did. the unforgettable dedication on our wedding day, my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with Sue's services. Throughout the entire experience, Sue and her helpers were attentive, communicative, and super friendly in doing their jobs. It was clear that we were working with professionals who were passionate about their business, and that passion was reflected in the gorgeous memories that they captured. We received our quality photos back in a really reasonable time, too, which sealed the deal on a perfect job by Sue and her team. We recommend Sue to anybody looking to make their special occasion, that very special and fleeing day, last forever in beautiful photographs.

mforting during our big day. I could not give a HIGHER recommendation - this is the photographer for you!

will allow you to encapsulate memories that will engage you for a lifetime. From her first prints shared, Sue demonstrated her unique and uncanny ability to capture the moment, including the warmth, tenderness, and emotions that made it special. The key to exceptional photography is anticipating the moment and putting oneself in the proper position to capture it. When our dog got loose in the church, Sue was able to secure a photo of her midstride, floating above the floor, in a perfect frame with crisp detail. This moment alone speaks volumes of her proficiency and adeptness in identifying and anticipating where to be at a moment’s notice. Sue met with us and had all the details preplanned to ensure she was prepared for the day. Sue was incredibly attentive yet always hiding in plain sight to capture each and every moment that made our wedding day so special. Sue was fun and creative, and her artistic vision takes you on a photographic journey of your special day. We cannot speak highly enough regarding how impressed we were with her professionalism, willingness, and proficiency to document every detail of our special day.

ful job editing and putting together a wealth of beautiful and artful images that capture so many little details of the day, which will always be treasured. Most of all, we so appreciated her joyful and professional style throughout the event itself! She simply brought a lot of great energy which really made so much easier all of the people-wrangling and various scheduling demands of the day. We really just enjoyed having her and her assistant Emily there with us! Thank you!

uded many options we hadn't even considered. On the day, she walked with us around the venue to find the best locations, and the photos testify to her excellent eye for detail. We were particularly impressed by her attention to textures and lighting. We can be a bit camera shy, and appreciated Sue's candor to help keep us from feeling too awkward! When time came for family photos, Sue kept things orderly and got all the shots we wanted succinctly. Throughout the reception she was excellent for capturing moments that we are very glad to have and remember. I cannot recommend Sue highly enough. Her presence and professionalism greatly improved our wedding, and we will treasure the photos she took for us for years to come.

f our wedding day. She responded to our inquiries very quickly and professionally and was a joy to work with. She covered the entire event from start to finish in a most unobtrusive way......the mark of a true professional! And, finally, all of this at a very reasonable price.

to direct you while also making you feel at ease so the photos feel natural. And she's great at photoshop for post editing, which can be underappreciated. If you want one less vendor to stress about in your planning, go with Sue!

great moments on our wedding day.

h with consideration of our most flattering angles, gorgeous light, and perfect composition. I have been lucky enough to work with Sue on other photography projects in the dance world as well, and her eye for flattering composition, timing and light is always unique and right on point. We are so lucky to have found Sue, and hope to work with her again throughout the different seasons of life!

tist of the highest caliber with a keen eye for detail. Unique and highly creative, her work is never cookie-cutter! She is always striving to take her skills to the next level and it’s clear in every single gallery. Sue’s work has been featured on the covers of many famous publications and yet she’s still remarkably humble and down to earth. Though her business is new to Connecticut, she has been working as a photographer for many years. Sue has done multiple photo shoots for my company as well as for my friends and colleagues’ companies. I genuinely admire her work and especially love how she is able to capture touching, precious moments that would normally fly by in an instant. Stylistically, you’ll see that she portrays deep, natural colors as well as light and airy ones, because she takes inspiration from the moment with respect to lighting and the couple’s own style. It’s marvelous! Sue respects that each person being photographed is truly unique and captures their beauty. She cares deeply about her clients and knows exactly how to bring their vision to life. Her excitement for each new opportunity is heart warming and she’s a delight to be around. Better still, Sue turns around a full gallery in the blink of an eye. She’s so invigorated by each photo shoot that she can’t help but start editing right away! I highly recommend Sue Takes Photos!

Her style is so wonderfully refined and polished (but not overly so—), and I am over the moon about how the photographs turned out from our New York elopement. The pictures are so iconic—forever grateful. (And how can I not give an extra, 6th star on this review?!)—seriously—she goes the extra mile. Cannot recommend her more highly—!!!!

onventional, she’ll go for it! I specifically remember her diving on the ground of the dance floor to get some really cool pictures; you can’t expect anyone to do that, but she will for her art! She was with us for the entire day, on time and ready while we were getting ready in the morning, and she stayed until all of the action was over. She also did our engagement photos, which was another great experience! She has a great eye and was able to direct us into the space (The Highline in NYC, which can be very busy!) to get some really beautiful photos. At the end of the night it started to rain, and she asked us to get in the street for some really magical rainy photos that I wish I could upload here! Sue is a treasure. I promise that if you choose her as your photographer, you will love her and her photos.
