Sugar & Spice Cafe and Spice Catering

the moment we spoke to Billy, told him our vision and he created a custom menu that absolutely nailed everything we talked about, we knew Sugar & Spice would be one of our favorite vendors to work with. Throughout the planning process Billy was nothing but a pleasure to talk to and deal with. We thought things couldn’t get much better until we were introduced to our Maître D, Erick. Between the two of them they put out fires, were a calming voice and understanding sounding board and were just overall our favorite part of wedding planning. And then of course there’s the food. We were told my multiple people it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. At first I figured It was polite words to a bride and groom but this same review then came from 2 specific guests that we know for a fact would not lie, so trust me, this is the gods honest truth. We also had a ton of pizzas delivered for an after party, most of which did not get eaten because our guests were thoroughly and legitimately full and satisfied from dinner. There are truly not enough words to express how grateful we are to have found and worked with the Sugar & Spice team.

th, caring, thoughtful, thorough, extremely flexible and made THE BEST food. He walked through our venue with us several times to make sure it had what we needed, supported us through some challenges with the venue, came a day early to coordinate rental delivery and set up and made sure my husband and I were fed and happy throughout the wedding weekend. All of the staff we interacted with at our wedding was so pleasant and professional and made sure we had what we needed. We were greeted immediately after our ceremony with each of our signature drinks and a tray of passed hors d'oeuvres just for us so we got to try all of our food. Our guests are still raving about the food from the day of and my husband and I are still raving about how wonderful Billy and his team were to work with. I want to have another event just to work with Billy and Sugar & Spice again.

oiled machine working there. They knew the venue in and out. They also knew what to recommend for us for the venue. The day of the wedding, Spice Catering ensured that we ate and that we always had drinks if we wanted them. They were flexible with us in determining if we keep the ceremony/cocktail hour inside/outside due to the weather forecast. They also had plenty of staff to greet guests as they entered and to serve our guests. Erick, our maître d', helped our day of coordinator set everything up, take everything down, and ensure the timeline was followed smoothly. Erick was amazing to work with and took the time to get to know my husband and I to best support us on our wedding day. Our guests complimented how delicious and hot the food was and mentioned it as a highlight of the wedding. We HIGHLY recommend Spice Catering.

ar in addition to food for cocktail hour and buffet for reception. Our guests were raving about the quality of the food. It's the best we've ever had at a wedding! The waitstaff as well were attentive. As the bride I felt especially catered to as I leaned on Laura as our Maitre'd. I would highly recommend Sugar and Spice to anyone planning an event.

s easily our favorite vendor to work with. He is a great communicator and is always very responsive. We planned our wedding from another state, and trust was so important to us and we fully trusted Spice Catering! All of the food was delicious! Our guests were so impressed by it, and we received so many compliments on how good everything was. They also have excellent staff, who made the meal service seamless. Truly, so impressed by each employee! Kate, who worked with us on the bar was also such a pleasure! The bartenders were awesome and rarely was there a line or long wait for a drink. It was great!! I highly recommend working with Spice Catering to anyone!

I wanted them to adjust for me. Right off the bat, they were more than willing to do anything I requested, one of them being to have my siblings supply the bar service. Yeah, I thought it was a great idea, and Billy, Kate and Leann were ready to help in any way, giving advice on how to do it, you know, since they are literally the experts. We quickly started to realized we were in over our heads. 3 months before the wedding I panic emailed Billy and asked if they could still do the bar, and he and Kate worked their magic and got us the bar we wanted, with the specialty drinks we wanted, and the specialty alcohol we wanted, all with a great price and an amazing attitude. BUT that's not even the best part about Sugar and Spice. When my husband and I went for our tasting, we were absolutely blown away. Everything was AMAZING. I don't like fish, but we wanted to offer it at the wedding, so I had to try it, and I even liked it!! I also have a few vegans in my family, and Billy was so prepared for that, it tasted so good. The chicken and steak were OUT OF THIS WORLD. We did not expect the food to be this amazing at the wedding since we are just 2 people and the wedding was 150 people.... we were SO wrong. The food was just as good, if not better! Everyone was raving about how the food was hot, fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection. And I'll have you know, it was a torrential downpour, they were cooking under a tent outside with a portable kitchen, the buses were over an hour late, so all of the events were now also an hour late! I mean, come on, how is that even possible!! Absolutely so impressed. To top it all off, we had ordered so many cocktail hour food items, and everyone was raving about everything! Mac and Cheese Station, Sliders, Soup Shooters, and so much more! I could go on forever about the food, but I promise, you will never be disappointed!!! Billy has some serious talent. Now on to the background planning. Billy and Leann were so great in this department. They were there with us through every step with all the advice we could need and all of the assistance they could give. I said I wanted to make and decorate my own cake, they said sure just let us know flavors and size. I said we make our own coffee and would love to serve it, and they just told us how to they needed it ground. I said I wanted to create my own centerpieces and they said make up a prototype and have everything in a box and we will recreate it on all of the tables. They went so above and beyond. I honestly couldn't be any happier with the way they made my wedding turn out. The day before the wedding, I was feeling so overwhelmed with all of the tasks that needed to be done, and when Billy and Leann showed up at the venue, it felt like they washed away all of my stress, and gave so much assurance that they had this under control. And they did. Wonderful people, wonderful company, highly recommend!!

mize our menu, handled the ordering of all our glassware and cutlery, and provided a day of coordinator who was really helpful. They answer emails very quickly and were very easy to communicate with from the selection process to the wedding day. The food was DELICIOUS! Our guests gave so many compliments. The bar service was excellent!

so helped us with coordinating rental company and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. The Maitre'd services were such a huge help for us because we did not have a day-of-coordinator or planner. Helene and Leanne were so helpful in coordinating all of the logistics and ensuring the day ran smoothly. We are so happy that we chose Billy and his team for our wedding catering!

vision. We started planning our wedding about a year out from the date, so we had time to explore options. Billy stayed flexible and accommodating. As our date got closer, Billy and our maitre d' Helene were very helpful. They ran our day-of planning and saved us a ton of money in hiring a coordinator. Once the day arrived, all we had to do was enjoy our wedding and Sugar & Spice took care of the rest. Our guests loved the food and we had a really amazing time. Thank you so, so much.

ng short of amazing. From delicious food to wedding day set-up and logistics, they did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a caterer! From our very first conversation with Billy he was extremely knowledgeable, flexible to our needs and patient with all of our questions. He took the time to understand what we wanted for our big day, made suggestions and was always willing to hop on a call to chat through things with us. Our tasting was excellent and he really set the stage for what was to come with the food that was going to be served. As our wedding got closer we had a walkthrough with our maître d', Brandon, at Locust Grove. He took the time to walk us through everything from wedding and ceremony setup and logistics, to cocktail hour flow and our reception timeline for things like dances and speeches. He answered all of our questions (not to mention the random questions that came to mind in the weeks leading up to the wedding) and gave really sound advice and suggestions for how things should be set up and structured the day of. On the morning of the wedding Brandon was immediately in contact with us. Naturally, I anticipated some questions to pop up throughout the day but, to my pleasant surprise, there were none and I can honestly say that everything was set-up perfectly. The reception room looked beautiful, all the signage was where it needed to be, name cards were taken care of, memory photo table looked great, etc. etc. Beyond this, Brandon and staff also did an amazing job coordinating with our DJ for the ceremony and he was incredibly attentive throughout the entire evening (checking in on us for drinks, ensuring we had food from cocktail hour, double checking on some logistics, etc.). As we went around to talk to guests every single person we spoke to raved about the food and I can honestly say, they were not wrong! Cocktail hour was amazing; the food was delicious, fresh, well prepared and everything was beautifully set up. Dinner was served on time and was just as great as it was the day of our tasting and dessert went off without a hitch! Tremendous thank you to Billy and the whole team for the great work they did!

erfectly - and it did! From Day 1 Billy treated us like family. I called him all the way back in September 2020, almost a full 2 years (COVID engagement) before our actual wedding day. The moment we talked through my vision I knew I was working with an expert in the craft, and the kindest human being. These two things kept things moving and warmed our hearts through what can be a stressful process again and again. In the weeks leading up to the wedding we worked more and more with Brandon who is an absolutely super hero of a human. Brandon is organized, has fantastic communication skills, and works to get every last detail from the timing to the decorations to the people movement absolutely perfect. People kept telling me “be prepared for things to go wrong” but you know what, they DIDN’T. The Spice team works tirelessly to keep people’s glasses full, their appetizers bottomless, and the timeline flawless. If you’re on the fence, do yourself the favor to just sign with Spice. A direct quote from one of our guests was “there are good weddings, and there are excellent weddings, but this wedding might be one of the best ones I’ve been to.”

at a wedding they have ever had (and I agree with them). Working with Billy is amazing as you really feel that he is there for you throughout the whole process. He would constantly check-in to see if we need anything and worked with us to design an unforgettable menu. Any issues that arose were delt with swiftly by their team and all of the staff there on the day of the event were kind and helpful. Additionally, their prices were more than reasonable allowing for us to add extras and still stay below competitors' prices. They really go the extra mile and make you feel like your wedding is the only wedding they will ever work on. Can not recommend it enough to anyone getting married or having an event in the Hudson Valley!

nd his team were SO helpful and communicative in the wedding process. They truly made it so everything we envisioned was possible. On the weekend of my wedding, they were unbelievably organized and everything was smooth as can be. Lastly, every piece of food on the day was amazing and everyone loved it. 10/10 recommend Spice catering for your celebration!!!

sted. We would recommend Sugar & Spice to anyone looking for catering that is thoughtful, well-presented, and delicious!

made amazing food, but the staff was also friendly, accommodating, and even got to boogie on the dance floor! Thank you!

ible, and responsive. Billy actually reached out to us when he heard we were in need of a caterer from a friend and we are so glad he did! They were always available by phone, text and email to answer our many questions. We truly felt that they wanted to make our wedding day everything we’ve ever dreamed of. Brandon worked so hard to set up all of our decorations just as we wanted them. It rained the majority of the day before our ceremony. They were willing to make a game time decision and quickly set up for an outdoor ceremony when the weather cleared up. Our family and friends have been RAVING about their food since the event. There was not a single thing that they made for us that we didn’t like. Their staff were professional and hard working. We would not have been able to get through the wedding planning process without them. Thank you!

a buffet and it could not have been better. Plus Billy is so knowledgeable with local vendors, processes, etc. it made everything a breeze. Highly recommend!

Billy, Andrea, and all the staff at the party were so lovely and helpful from the first time we talked on the phone until the very last item was packed up at the end of the party. They understood the demographic of our party and advised us on the menu which was very helpful because we wanted everything! We had a cocktail party rather than a sit-down dinner which gave guests the freedom to mingle (and saved us from assigning tables- also something I'd do if I were getting married again!). The food was DELICIOUS- I can't say enough about how scrumptious it was. My only regret is that I was chatting and missed a few of the passed hors d'oeuvres :-( While we loved the delicious food, having a seasoned caterer to advise us and help plan/manage the event was priceless. The party wouldn't have been nearly as successful without Andrea and the wonderful staff- they are pros!

ver think about doing business with Loshinsky), Sugar and Spice quickly got up to speed and did a great job catering our wedding and a brunch the following day. The food was delicious and creative and everyone on their team was kind and a pleasure to work with.

ything. The whole reception we were constantly taken care of. Superb catering service!

about the AMAZING sandwhiches and soups, the food was the highlight of our reception! Everyone at Sugar and Spice was so positive and uplifting and provided us with such a great day, plus the prices are unbeatable! Additionally, Andrea was incredibly helpful guiding us through the reception process: recommending vendors, helping us pick rentals, suggesting table settings etc! We didn't have a wedding planner but she filled those shoes and then some! I would reccomend them a million times; you won't be disappointed!"
