Our cake for our wedding was a hit with all of our guests! The cake was beautiful and tasted absolutely amazing! The price we paid was 100% worth it for the delicious cake we received! Ashley was amazing to work with and so easy to communicate with! 12/10 would definitely use Sugar Beats Bake Shop again!

I selected Sugar Beats Bake Shop for our wedding and I definitely made the right choice! The cake flavor is out of this world and many guests told us it’s the best cake they have ever had. Along with that, Ashley is amazing to work with—professional and responsive! I highly recommend!

Can't say enough good things about Ashley and Sugar Beats Bake Shop! We had Ashley bake our wedding cake and cupcakes and they were beautiful and absolutely delicious! She created exactly what we had talked about at our tasting. She has such an amazing selection of flavors and cake stands to fit any color scheme and vision. We were able to order our custom cake topper as well and not have to worry about that separately! I have had so many guests comment on how great the cupcakes were and ask for her info to use her themselves! We will definitely be using her for our dessert needs in the future! What started as a search for a wedding cake vendor for our fantasy themed handfasting- has ended up as a likely lifelong relationship! We initially chose Sugar Beats for their prices, reviews, and beautiful decorated cakes, as well as the fact they offered a smaller cake and cupcake combo. We also appreciated the fact that they offered a tasting (which was more like a feast tbh! They had 4 mini cakes in our preferred flavors.) We were enamored by their Red Velvet (his favorite) and Pink Champagne (My Favorite!) We rounded it out with the ever popular white wedding almond to give our guests some cupcake variety! Ashley was super easy to work with and talk to, and was very receptive of our request to try and dye the red velvet purple, and the cupcakes blue/pink/ and purple as well. It was also a relief that although they were generally closed- that they were willing to do our Monday wedding. They rent a huge variety of beautiful stands, take care of the decorating of the cake table on the day of, AND allow you to leave cake toppers/flowers/signs with them in advance so you literally don't have to worry about a thing cake related. And speaking of cake- not only did it turn out gorgeous, it was DELICIOUS! We got so many compliments on the cupcakes and are still eating the leftovers. We super appreciate Ashley's offer to provide a small cake on her client's anniversary as well- vs freezing it. I truly want to appreciate her baking in it's best quality! Between our deposit and our wedding, I have either ordered cupcakes for other events or picked up a cup of cake crumbles a handful of times. I just know we will be back next year for our year and a day ceremony and then time and time again after that whenever we have a need for delicious cake! I truly regret that I don't have a photo of the cake table to add, but will have to add one once we get our professional photos back. Thank you Ashley- and see you soon!

The customer service was very accommodating to our needs. She helped us plan exactly what we would need for our wedding size. We showed her inspiration pictures and gave her creative freedom from there. The cake turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend booking with Sugar Beats for your weddings and events!!

Absolutely stunning cake!!! Ashley and her crew was wonderful to work with! The amount of professionalism and kindness was the perfect way to help ease the stresses of planning a wedding. We wanted a cake that was Gothic in style, but not gimmicky, and she was excited to take on the challenge without judgment. It was really hard to choose flavors because they all tasted delicious! We also allowed her the artistic freedom to design it and SHE NAILED IT! We had a great experience Sugar Beats Bakery for our wedding. The owner was very easy to work with and accommodated all our requests. She made us a special bride and groom cake, which was beautiful and delicious. She also did a great job setting up our entire dessert display, even though we had other desserts for our guests that my mom had baked. The price was very fair for tasting and for the cake itself.

Our wedding cake was so pretty and, more importantly, tasted great! We had two tiers (8” pink champagne and 10” red velvet), semi naked with cream cheese frosting for 100 guests. They were punctual with drop off, applied the flowers our florist left, and made the whole process so smooth. Since they offer to make couples a small cake for their 1 year anniversary, we didn’t have to freeze the top layer either. Highly recommend this place for any event needing a cake.

We found Sugar Beats Bake Shop through a google search and we could not be more pleased with our choice. The day of our cake tasting, Ashley was hard at work making cakes and was in the shop herself. Our cake and design was absolutely stunning and perfect. The mini desserts she provided are still raved about when we look back with our friends and family. Sugar Beats did the cake and some mini cupcakes for our wedding. The whole process was smooth and could not have gone any better. From the cake tasting and consultation to them delivering and setting up at our venue it was an absolute pleasure to work with them. I was a little stressed out planning the wedding but Sugar Beats made the cake one of the least my worries because they had it all handled. We went with the white almond flavor and I’m not exaggerating when I say it is the best tasting cake I have ever had. We are very much looking forward to having it again at our anniversary!

Ashley at Sugar Beats was phenomenal from the start! Starting with the cake tasting to efficient communication. She exceeded our expectations. The cake was delicious, I ate the almond and red velvet. My husband LOVED the dark chocolate cake. I would highly recommend.

Ashley was great to work with - met with us for a personal and private tasting at her appointment only bakeshop. We got to try 4 flavors (and take home the decent size taster cakes!) and discuss our inspiration images, the colors we wanted, and the general vibe we were hoping to achieve. We came up with the perfect marriage of all our ideas - though she also gave us time to change our minds until closer to the wedding. She was kind to offer rentable cake stands, custom cake toppers, etc. Everything turned out amazing! The white wedding cake was fluffy, but not dry, with smooth buttercream (honestly the best one) and the red velvet was rich and decadent with thick cream cheese icing. Highly recommend!

We had our wedding cake made by Sugar Beats. Ashley from Sugar Beats worked with us in a meeting to decide what kind of cake that we wanted (flavor, filling, color, etc). She was straightforward in what to expect and spoke in a professional manner. She also has a wide range of options available for what size/layers of cake we wanted. Sugar Beats delivered the cake on the day of our wedding without any problems. Ashley ensured that the stacking of the layers of the cake were nicely done. She was also flexible to accommodate the last minute headcount changes. The cake was delicious and everybody loved it! It was also very beautiful and nicely decorated in icing! First, the in person tasting we did was so delicious and fun! Ashley was always on top of keeping good communication up until the wedding day and had no issue making changes to our cake size just days before the big day to accommodate our larger than expected guest list. The way our cake was decorated was beautiful and the cake was delicious! We are still enjoying leftovers and can't wait for our 1 year anniversary cake from them as well!

Sugar Beats was the baker for my wedding. Sugar Beats is very accommodating and transparent. I have not worked with a vendor that is so transparent with their pricing. A bonus with Sugar Beats is that you can rent the cake stands. Also, their cakes are delicious.

Our experience with Ashley and Sugar Beats Bake Shop was absolutely spectacular! She made the process of creating our dream wedding cake a seamless process! During the tasting, Ashley walked us through all of the dessert options, size options and pricing. It was a delight to sit and chat while eating some delicious cakes! For our wedding, we had a 3 tiered cake with multiple mini desserts (Cookie Dough Shooters, Red Velvet Cake Shooters, Strawberry Cheesecake Parfaits, and Baked Apple Roses). Everything tasted amazing! Our only complaint is that we didn’t save more for ourselves!! The process of designing our cake was so easy. She has so many options when it comes to the tier sizes and heights and the level of detail in her work is next level! When my now husband and I had picked out our design, I photoshopped photos of the designs in the size and shape of the cake we wanted and she made it happen! It was identical to what we wanted which was perfect! Not only did Ashley and her team make choosing everything easy, they made the dessert table and setup at our reception look fantastic! She had everything we could have needed to present the desserts and our cake beautifully! This was a great bonus because we didn’t have to buy additional items on our own. We could not have chosen a better bakery! Not only was everything delicious, but Ashley is an all around great person! I cannot wait for more special occasions to treat ourselves to another one of Sugar Beats Bake Shop’s cakes!

We worked with Ashley and she was amazing to work with! Her cakes were so good and were an absolute hit at our wedding! She made our cake look even better than what we had imagined, and she makes sure that she takes your vision and amplifies it to be even better than what you expect for your cake! Everything about our wedding cake was perfect! Not only was it delicious, it looked amazing as well. Ashley did a great job and we are forever thankful. I am just going to echo what i said on the Google Review here---- but I cannot stress enough how wonderful everything was!!! What can I say, except PHENOMENAL!! My wedding was just recently, and this cake and extra desserts were perfect in every way. Our cake was 3 flavors, Pistachio for the top two layers, Mocha Chocolate for the 3rd and Red Velvet for the 4th. All absolutely delicious. We also had Cookie Dough Bites and Key Lime Pie Shooters, and when I tell you I had about 5 of those each.... soooo good!! But an added bonus, Ashley Westhoff was a delight to work with. She took time to get to know us and make sure we were all on the right page from the start. Truly an amazing baker and person.

Can’t recommend more. Clear communication, smooth day of delivery and set up, and the cake was so delicious we did not have any leftover with multiple guest getting seconds.

I'm a huge cake person so when I say this was by far one of the best I've ever had, I absolutely mean it!! Also, Ashley absolutely killed it with the naked cake design. It was seriously too good to cut into 😊 Thanks again for going above and beyond!

Our cake was amazing! We went in for a trial with Ashley, and it was the best tasting cake by far. We showed her a picture, and she made our cake exactly how we wanted it! We also rented a beautiful cake stand that pulled the entire look together! The cake delivery was on time and easy! Would highly recommend.

Nothing but perfection. From the start, we reached out and were able to schedule a super last-minute cake tasting. The flavors we tried were all so tasty, that it was hard to pick a flavor. We chose to do a lemon cake, which was absolutely delicious. I lost count of how many people said it was the best cake they ever had! Ashley really had a beautiful artistic eye. We handed her a box of Lego flowers and asked her to make it beautiful, and she knocked it out of the park.

Ashley was fantastic to work with! She answered all our questions and was very flexible when we wanted to change from our original order. Not only are her cakes and cupcakes delish, she makes sure to decorate them to perfectly fit your theme! The rental also includes the cake/cupcake stands which was a huge cost saver for us! Ashley was so wonderful throughout our whole wedding process! It was "icing on the cake" (pun intended) that she uses almond flour! It reminded me of how my grandparents used to bake and that bit of nostalgia really took it home for us! We loved working for her. Oh, and the desserts were DELICIOUS!

Ashley was easy to communicate with and made it extremely simple to order our wedding cake! We had three tiers, each with a different flavor. Each one we picked was delicious, and we got multiple compliments the day of. I did ask for to go boxes knowing we would have extra cake, but they seemed to be forgotten. I didn’t catch it until after I was done getting ready. That was the only con per se, but we made it work!

Ashleigh created the most amazing cupcakes for a shower my sisters threw for my daughters bridal shower. The theme was a garden party and each cupcake was a different color and type of flower: hydrangeas, roses, dahlias, etc. The colors were beautiful and the taste of the cupcakes was out of this world. I have dreams about her amazing frosting and perfect 'sponge' of her cakes. Her professionalism and timeliness is right on! I highly recommend Sugar Beats Bake Shop for your event. We’ve used Sugar Beats Bake shop three times in the past. Twice for birthday parties. The last was my parents 50th wedding anniversary. She recreated their original 5 tier wedding cake from scratch using just a single picture! It was seriously impressive and all of our guests loved it!

Ashley made the most beautiful cake for a shower that I hosted. She made my vision come to life and designed a cake that made the guest of honor over the moon happy. This was an easy 5 star. From the moment I reached out to Sugar Beats Bake Shop, Ashley was instantly helpful! Her knowledge of how much cupcakes, cookies, and cake we would need was spot on but the best part was after we got married and getting to see the cake of our dreams sitting at the venue ready for us to celebrate!! When we got to cut into the cake, I had to go back for another bite! We absolutely loved everything!! 😊

Ashley did an absolute amazing job on my wedding cake and dessert table. Everything was delicious and I got so many compliments. We loved working with her from the start when we went to her bakery for a taste test, YUM! She listened to what my vision was and was spot on, her communication with us was great and pricing is very reasonable. You wont be disappointed if you use Sugar Beats Bake shop!

After multiple tastings, we chose Sugar Beats. The cake was good, Ashley was great – she listened, came up with great design ideas - we left our tasting feeling we’d found our match. Everything went well up to the day of the wedding. The cake was delivered and set up by Ashley. Our planner returned to our venue and found the cake leaning, and furthermore – dowel rods were placed under the unfinished cardboard base, sticking out for all to see and the cardboard bending around it. Our reception was held at a high-end venue, and this “look” was obviously not fitting for its location. The cake table was not confirmed by Ashley prior to set and needed to be moved. It took 6 people to move this table to ensure that the cake wouldn’t fall due to its instability. The cake was not level on at least 3 tiers, the cakes weren’t centered on top of each other when stacked, so it was glaringly apparent why the cake was leaning. The gold accents on the cake were to be metallic, not a yellow/brown paint job. The edges of the cake weren’t sharp and crisp. I will give credit where due, the beading to mimic the beading of the wedding dress looked great. Everything else looked rushed. A call was placed by the planner to ask about the dowel rods and how we could make the appearance look better. Ashley immediately stated that the acrylic stand was the issue causing the cake to be crooked. Simply not true, the layers not being level, the cakes not being stacked evenly - basic fundamentals – was why the cake didn’t stand straight. While on speaker, with multiple witnesses, the MOB expressed her disappointment in the finished product. From a distance, if you disregarded the dowel rods, it was crooked, but didn’t look horrible. If you looked more closely, much of it was sloppy. We shared that we were surprised that Ashley would have been proud of the overall display of the cake she left. Ashley was upset that we were unhappy, and asked what she could do at that point. Obviously at that point there was nothing to be done. She offered – not asked by us - to make a refund, and we agreed to that, and appreciated her offer to do so. We were disappointed, but we didn't let the evening be derailed by that. We found some leftover florals to cover the base and dowel rods and made it look better. Ashley did post pictures of our cake on her Instagram page (minus the dowel rods - we have those) and went as far as to add some extra verbiage – not noted in other posts – regarding the time and effort, time spent away from family/interests, to provide a product – we can assume this passive aggressive message was directed at us. After the event, Ashley spoke with our planner. Her concern - would we be retaliative and what she should be expecting. Our planner assured her that we would not go that route because we felt Ashley handled things appropriately – or at least we took Ashley for her word. Ashley told our planner, multiple times, that she would be reaching out to us – almost a month, we’ve heard nothing. Ashley asked the planner for our address to mail us a check, almost a month, we’ve heard nothing. It’s very disappointing that this is how she’s chosen to handle the situation. Initially, we were impressed, we weren’t going to provide a less than stellar review, but we do feel it’s necessary that others understand her business approach. We have had wedding guests inquire for their upcoming wedding, and we've suggested other options.

Run, don't walk to book Ashley at Sugar Beats Bake Shop for all your wedding sweet needs!! Wow, just wow! I'm a huge lover of wedding cakes; basically my favorite part as a guest. Ashley's cakes (multiple flavors) are the best I've ever had. We had soooo many compliments on our cake and cupcakes at our wedding in June of 2023. Ashley was so easy to work with and very reasonably priced. Her shop is the cutest to do a tasting at, and you can shop for all the little add on's you need. Ashley was so great and easy to work with for our wedding cake! The cake is absolutely delicious and the design was exactly what we wanted. We did a four tier cake and we received so many compliments about the cake during and after the wedding. Can’t recommend Sugar Beats Bake Shop enough!

Ashley was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end! We had a specific idea in mind of what we wanted our cake to look like and she took the time to sketch out our vision an ensure we had exactly what we wanted! In addition, the cake & cupcakes were DELICIOUS! We had a 2 tier cake and a variety of cupcakes, and it was all anyone could talk about for days after our wedding! Overall we absolutely loved working with Ashley! She is the absolute best & I will be using her for all my baking needs going forward.

We loved Sugar Beats Bake Shop! My husband and I used her for our summer wedding. Ashley is wonderful to work with! We ordered a traditional wedding cake as well as various flavors of cupcakes for our wedding. She included this all in a lovely dessert display and everything was delicious! My favorite were the strawberry cupcakes. :)

They are very easy to plan with, they were very patient and generous during the consultation, and the flavors and textures are just absolutely amazing. The styles they do are so beautiful you won’t even believe it’s your cake! They were on time for delivery and took care of business. Everyone I’ve had taste their stuff fell in love immediately. We chose Sugar Beats to do our wedding cake and our cupcakes. They were delicious! Everyone said their favorite was the red velvet with cream cheese frosting. We had a few problems through communication over email for how we wanted our cake to be designed, but other than that it was great. She set up the cake/cupcake table beautifully.

We made a thousand decisions when planning our wedding. Hiring Sugar Beats Cake Shop to bake our cake was one of our very best decisions! Ashley is incredibly professional to work with. She made everything so easy for us, and gave us wise advice when we asked for guidance. She made our “tasting” a truly lovely experience, letting us savor several flavors she’d made especially for us in her pretty shop. Honestly, it felt like a little tea party! She helped us with our choices, and we left there feeling great confidence in her. Over the next few months, we communicated through email because she always wanted to keep a record of everything we said. The week of the wedding, she communicated about exactly what time she would deliver the cake so we could let the venue know. And the cake! Oh my. It was the most beautiful cake I’ve seen. And the taste? Amazing. My favorite was the dark chocolate, but several people said the white almond was the best white cake they’d ever tasted. It was very moist, which many white cakes are not. If you are being married in the Kansas City Metro Area, you should absolutely choose Sugar Beats for your cake!

Everything was perfect and DELICIOUS! I had so many compliments from guests and asked who made our dessert and cake. Came on time and looked beautiful. Will definitely keep using Sugar Beats Bake Shop for other events as well.

Sugar Beats did an incredible job with my daughter's wedding cake. It was a birch bark tree with their initials "carved into" it. It looks amazing and also tasted incredible (pink champagne). They also perfected their gluten free version of this same cake for those who have celiac in our guest list. Everything was amazing!

Hands down the best cake! Ashley did an amazing job and we could not be happier with the results. From the moment we taste tested the cake samples we knew this was the shop we were going to use for our wedding cake. Our cake was beautiful and delicious. We LOVED our wedding cake from sugar beats!!! It is so moist and the icing is perfection! We have continued to order more cakes from her and they are amazing! We got white almond wedding cake, pumpkin spice, and chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes for our wedding and they were a huge hit!
