The cake was DELICIOUS. All of my guests raved about how wonderful the cake and cupcakes were. And if this review were based solely on the product, it'd be 5 stars. I have to me...
ntion, however, how awful the bakery was to work with. I paid in full for my April 2020 wedding in March 2020, and of course had to reschedule. It took multiple unanswered emails and unreturned phone calls to finally be able to speak to the owner and get our new date confirmed. And then leading up to the new date, I tried multiple times calling and emailing with no response. My wedding was in June 2021, and I had no communication with the bakery since September 2020 because I don't live locally and couldn't just walk in. I honestly wasn't sure I would have a cake until I showed up at the reception. Also, we agreed on white icing, and the icing on the cupcakes was multi-colored. And we hadn't discussed the color for the cupcake wrappers (I hadn't thought of it); I would think the baker would verify with the bride what color she wanted (I would have chosen white) or at least advised what they were going to be, but instead they were also completely multi-colored in bright colors that clashed with the rest of my reception colors. I've never had such a difficult time working with anyone in any company in my life. If being incredibly stressed out and ignored by the owner leading up to your wedding date is worth it for a delicious cake, go ahead. I wish I had hired anyone else, though.
Honestly almost didn’t have a wedding cake for our wedding because she stopped responding to us after taking our deposit. Luckily we got a new baker 3 weeks before the wedding, bec...
ause it took our wedding venue owner physically walking into her business twice (she is only open 4/5 days a week so the venue owner had to go back) and we took that as a sign to change bakers. Completely unprofessional & if you read her reviews it seems like a pattern she has with her company. We are getting messages from fellow couples who had been in the same scenario. Our wedding was three months ago and I feel compelled to write this on here specifically because this is where I found her. The Knot should definitely be careful with suggesting this place . Make sure your money goes to someone who truly appreciates their customers & has a business with integrity. Anyone who has had a bad experience with her, especially if you had your money stolen like we did, should report her to the Better Business Bureau. I’m usually not a review type person, but if I can save another couple from this situation that’s what counts.
I'm still having dreams of my wedding cake! Serena with Sugar Cloud made the utmost delicious two-tiered cake that I would happily indulge in on a daily basis if at all possible. U...
pon first bite, we knew she was our baker and then it was the troubling task to settle on flavors. Leading up to the wedding, tears would come to my eyes when describing how delicious her cupcake samples were and she certainly did not disappoint when it came to our special day. The cake looked stunning and was more than I could imagine yet tasted just as delicious as I remembered. I highly recommend Sugar Cloud to anyone in the area of Cashiers/Highlands, NC.
Serena was amazing to work with and her cake and cake push pops were the hit of our wedding! Everyone thought the Bubbly pops and brew pops were so creative and yummy! Can’t wait t...

at incorporated family heritage from both sides of the family. The Hungarian cookies, Highland beer pops, macaroons and Scottish cookies flew off the table. Her creativity and dedication to "pure" ingredients is obvious in everything she does. In addition, she went out of her way to make sure the "goodies" arrived in Georgia in perfect shape.
Serena was SO wonderful, and her dessert table was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. We came to Serena about a month before our wedding date because our previous ...
baker backed out on us. Immediately, Serena set up a tasting and she was incredibly punctual for our entire relationship. Even more importantly than her excellent communication and INCREDIBLY reasonable prices, her desserts are so so good. I got so many compliments from my guests, they were totally enamored of her baking. I cannot recommend her enough!
The cake wasn't delivered. Unfortunately I cannot give a great review.

ve for gems into our wedding. Serena made the most amazing amethyst geode cake for us. Her first one and she nailed it!!!! I live in California and had never tried her cakes or met her in person I went soley off reviews and photos. Her cake tasted AMAZING and looked gorgeous too! It was the hit of the party no one wanted to cut into it because it looked that good! Everyone was talking about THE CAKE!!! I would recommend her a million times over to anyone in the western North Carolina area. She is a very talented woman! Thanks for making the cake of my dreams!
Serena is wonderful! She was friendly, and responsive. She met with us at our hotel for a tasting, and was very informative. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and very tasty! She ...
is very good with fondant, and sculpted cakes.
I highly recommend Serena, and her hummingbird cake!
I was so excited for my wedding cake and could not have been more disappointed with everything from this place. If I could give it no stars I would. She was 15-20 min late for our ...
initial appointment which I should have taken as a warning for her complete lack of professionalism. Throughout the whole process she was difficult to get ahold of and never returned calls or messages. When it came to the wedding, I walked into the reception to see the most embarrassing and pathetic wedding cake; not even close to what was ordered. I was so embarrassed and upset that I almost told them to take the cake in the back because I didn't want our guests to see it. On top of that, we had ordered 3 dozen tarts from her that were no where to be found. She was called and told us that the tarts were going to be 2 hours late to our reception. They never came.
We got married at the Fields of Blackberry Cove in early May and Artista Cakes made our wedding cake. Serena met us for a cake tasting when we were visiting Asheville and we could ...
not believe how delicious every flavor was. Needless to say, Serena did a fabulous job with our cake and we were not disappointed in the least! The cake was beautiful and tasted even better than it looked! Serena clearly is so talented, professional, and easy to work with. We recommend Artista Cakes to any couple wanting not only a beautiful but also delicious cake!
After first speaking with Serena about our wedding cake needs, I felt like I had found the needle in the haystack. I was blown away by her variety of delicious flavors, willingness...
to do a multi-flavor layered cake, experience making naked cakes, reasonable prices, and flexibility to meet us in Cashiers for our tasting. The final product was so delicious and truly the best wedding cake I've ever had. Several of our guests had multiple slices to sample the various flavors. We're saving our topper for our 1 year anniversary, but I'm already anxious to dig into it. :) Thank you so much Serena!
Oh my goodness! Serena is a true artist and took what I meagerly described as an idea and turned it into a pure vision. She did such an amazing job on our cake! It was so, so bea...
utiful!! And tasted so good the whole thing was eaten! I don't think I've ever known wedding cake to taste that good and look so good! She is a goddess! I had asked her to match a sash on my dress as decor on my cake and she was magically able to do so...from pictures. She is absolutely the best!

Carolina-and needless to say, we did! Serena was phenomenal every step of the way and our wedding was everything I could dream of & more! She created everything we envisioned in terms of the cake design, flavor and all! Our guests couldn't stop talking about our “Blue Moon” grooms cake (SO UNIQUE & AMAZING DESIGN) & how elegant our 5 tier wedding cake was. The Grooms Cake was Vanilla Bourbon pound with cream cheese filling (so moist & delicious) and our wedding cake was Vanilla Bean with cream cheese filling. Both cakes were perfection-Serena was a pleasure to work with and she is the best in Asheville!"
