Sugar Coated Bakery is the BEST place to get your wedding cake! They are punctual, professional, extremely affordable, and the cake is SOO delicious. A ton of our guests made it a point to comment on how they never eat cake at weddings, but asked where we got the cake from.
One part of the process with Sugar Coated Bakery that I especially love is the option to order five custom cake samples for $25. This was an affordable way to decide what cake we wanted. My (now) husband and I ordered two boxes, came up with a scoring chart, and tried all sorts of delicious cake that helped us decide.
I know I'll be getting a cake for EVERY occasion from Sugar Coated Bakery!
We love sugar coated bakery and typically get all our birthday cakes and celebration cakes through them. We were emailed pretty late (10 pm) the night before our cake tasting appointment to cancel. Once we rescheduled and went in for our cake tasting a few weeks later it felt VERY rushed. We were pretty much handed the platter of cakes and the baker said she would be back to see which we selected. The cake was good enough as expected.
Sugar Coated did an awesome job on our wedding cake and mini cupcakes. We did a small, 2-tier cake for cutting and served mini cupcakes for our guests. We chose Sugar Coated because they have the BEST buttercream frosting and put together really fun favor/filling combinations for the cupcakes. We had guests taking home extra cupcakes at the end of the day because everyone loved them so much!
These guys took good care of us, and baked our wedding cake exactly the way we wanted it. It ended up being delicious, and lots of guests complimented it. Also, they include a free fresh-baked top layer cake on your 1-year anniversary (so you don't have to take up a ton of room in your freezer for a year with your top layer).
Though the cake was not completely the design i had ecpected, it came out gorgeous and even better, tasted amazing! All of my guests loved it!
We did a 4 tear cake with 4 different types of cake. all came out good! very nice family run bakery!
Sugar Coated created a beautiful wedding cake following a picture of what I wanted. It was a gorgeous three tier white cake with real red roses cascading down the side. It was elegant and modern. I really can't remember how it tasted but my guests said it was very good. The owners are a married couple and they are great to work with -- very friendly people.
We had sugar coated bakery do our wedding cake and they were fantastic to work with. The cake was absolutely beautiful and yummy and the price was perfect
I searched high and low and this bakery was by far the most reasonably priced. My cake was unique, personalized, tailored and designed to my ideas and looked like something out of a magazine. It was regal and elegant--and delicious!
When my fiance and I were looking for cake vendors, we discovered Sugar Coated Bakery. We believe in giving people our age who are starting their own business a chance. We wanted a four tier cake with the very top tier designed as a mug of beer overflowing onto the over tiers, and the remaining three tiers as a Celtic design with our wedding colours. Sugar Coated Bakery assured us this would be "awesome" and was eager and seemed confident to do it. When we got to the hall on our wedding day, our wedding coordinator told us our cake was "sinking". When I walked in to see it, it looked like the leaning tower of Pisa! Our reception venue had to move it off the dance floor and hide it in the corner because the vibrations from people walking across made it even more unstable. The beer mug looked more like a mug of ginger ale and Sugar Coated Bakery used white paper/cardboard rings to separate the tiers - with staples in them! Now we forever have pictures of our poorly executed wedding cake complete with leaning, staples, and yellow-y foaming ginger ale mug. Not at all the vision we had hoped for. However, the cake did taste very good.
Sugar Coated Bakery helped my husband and I complete our non-traditional wedding cake arrangement of having 10 8" round cakes (one for each table) and a 2-tiered cake for the wedding party. They were very accommodating in scheduling a last-minute tasting and making further arrangements via email--and the cakes themselves were fantastic! The cupcakes at the tasting didn't do them justice =) The price was perfect--just around $250 for the combo of the 2-tiered and the 10 smaller cakes--delivery was free to out venue on Pelham, and overall I was very satisfied!
