a way that has made me wonder how many special occasions I can possibly have so I can order more cake from Sugar Couture! Cake tasting with Penny was one of our favorite parts of the planning process--Penny is an amazing listener and artfully intuitive. She knows her stuff, is organized, and made the cake planning process amazing and seamless. We had dreams of a tiramisu wedding cake, knowing it wouldn't be possible for the amount of our guests (we wouldn't want something so yummy collapsing under the weight of all that espresso!). But, she worked with us to create a cake that made our dreams come true--an espresso dipped cake with alternating flavors of espresso and vanilla buttercream. It was so good that even typing that description makes me sad I can't run to Williamsburg as we speak for another cake.
Know how most people keep a portion of their wedding cake for their first anniversary? Wellllllll....we took the top tier home, yes. But, we ate it all within a few days after our wedding. It was just far too good to imagine it with freezer burn a year later--but if we're being honest here, it was too good not to eat it all then and there. Alas though! I have already contacted Penny about making us a mini cake for our first year anniversary! Sugar Couture is where it's at--go with Penny and trust me, you will not be disappointed!

Something overwhelmingly joyous about seeing something on paper come to life and Penny could not have been more professional throughout every step. Penny's cakes are worth every penny (no pun intended) in our book and we are looking forward to stopping by the storefront again to grab a treat!

cake right then and there, which I’d contracted her to recreate for me before I bought my wedding dress! She had a wide variety of flavors to choose from, ranging from the traditional to the more exotic (like lemongrass sponge-cake and passion fruit buttercreams). All in all, her cakes are beautiful and delicious, inside and out. In addition, she was amazing to work with as she’d custom-designed two macaron flavors for our escort cards and two types of desserts to accompany the wedding cake for our guests. She was very patient with me and the many questions I had. She was so nice to offer me advice on aspects of planning my wedding that didn’t have to do with the cake and the sweets. I would definitely go back to her again to have her design a cake or a special dessert for another event in the future.
