as our wedding coordinator and honestly it was the best decisions we could have made. She helped guide us through the process, timelines, and decisions and never seemed to mind the random texts I’d send her when something popped in my mind. She was a true godsend and we cannot thank or express our gratitude for her enough. Once we checked in at sugar hollow she seemed to continuously anticipate our needs before we asked. We had sent her some inspo pictures and honestly she turned through pictures into a reception we couldn’t have been imagined, when we first walked into overmountain hall I was shocked that this was our wedding reception. My friends commented how it looked like it was straight from Pinterest and Nicole did all of that. Truly I don’t think she charges enough for all she does and we couldn’t have had the wedding we had without her.  The staff (Nicole, Hannah, Jamie, Jennifer) an everyone behind the scenes were amazing, they were all personable and friendly and willing to help with anything we needed even if it wasn’t their job. They allowed us to truly take in the experience and allow our family and friends a relaxing time spent with us. Every single one of them were amazing.  The food was exceptional and did not taste like your typical wedding food. We had the taco bar, full breakfast spread, chicken Bryan and beef medallions, and the chicken and waffle bar and every single thing was delicious and our guests praised the food.  Our guests loved the cabins they were in and everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were. We stayed in the Sitton house in the honeymoon suite and it was perfect. I loved how functional the space was and being able to hold our friends and family in one spot for gatherings but that throughout the three day stay we never felt like we were on top of each other.  Overall I truly could not recommend this venue more. It was a once in a lifetime experience and I wish I could go back and relive it. I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a unique wedding venue that provides the best service and truly makes the experience as stress free as possible. us feel like we weren’t 500 miles away. Our guests fell in love with the property and loved getting away in the mountains of Tennessee. We got married on March 18, and the memories made here are priceless! 

nd we decided with both our families all over the U.S. that we wanted a destination, in the mountains, small but not super small wedding, My parents, having gone through some tough times lately, I didn't want them worrying about decor, catering (we own a catering business) nothing... I wanted all of our roughly 50 guests to be able to not only celebrate with us, but to stay on site AND not have to limit it all to just ONE DAY. Sounds like I'm asking wayyyy to much right? ... When I tell you Sugar Hollow Retreat provides ALL of what I just mentioned AND MORE ! I truly mean it. I could go on and on about the beautiful venue alone! Look at the Amphitheatre or the overlook , look at Overmountain Hall, the on-site homes for you guests... you'll see what a BEAUTIFUL dream the venue is, but anyone looking for a wedding like the literal fairytale dream of one my Husband and I just had, should also know that when you book with Sugar Hollow, you have a team, a family, of WONDERFUL individuals from day one. Nicole, Anna, all the amazing women that make up the dream team - they are truly the whole package. You think, oh we are just one of 100's they work with a year - no - I promise you will feel like not only are you are the most important but like you are the only one. The best way I can describe the way Nicole takes action to make sure your items you bring ( not that you need to bring any they provide the MOST BEAUTIFUL decor) are placed in the most perfect way, but also to the way she quickly became what I considered a very close friend, I mean she stood with me holding my hands before I walked down the aisle to make sure I was ready.. she absolutely had way more important things to do but it meant the world to me. Then to Anna and her team, The FOOD!!! ya'll... this isn't just some quick catering run of the mill menu, it is absolutely PHENOMENAL!! and all our guests would attest to that. Again, I'll say it a million times.. Sugar Hollow Retreat, is the ultimate DREAM. I think my last sentence will speak volumes for itself, when we checked out on the last of our 3 day micro-wedding, spending that time not only getting to love on 50 of our closest family and friends that traveled from Colorado and Arizona but also to have them attend our wedding on day 2, I held on to hugging Nicole feeling like I was leaving a best friend I may never see again, and Sugar Hollow's staff feeling like this amazing group of people just gave me and my husband the ultimate picture perfect drean of a wedding.. That in itself is the biggest comfort to a bride planning a destination wedding with all the worries and unknowns... believe me, when I say I didn't think it was possible to ever find a place like this, it is. Sugar Hollow Retreat is a true unbelievably perfect wedding venue.

The staff were equally wonderful-kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the day smooth and special. Nicole and the entire team really go above and beyond. Literally the only important note for future couples and guests- the roads within the venue are gravel and hilly. It’s definitely something to prepare people for, especially those who might be driving in the dark or in less rugged vehicles- but it’s absolutely worth it once you arrive. Overall, we’re so glad we chose this venue. It left us and our guests with unforgettable memories.

From the earliest stages of planning to the final goodbyes, they were organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our celebration perfect. A special shoutout to Nicole, who guided us through every decision from recommending incredible vendors to helping with the tiniest details. She truly held our hands through the entire process and made what could have been stressful feel seamless and fun. We hosted 86 guests, and having most of them stay on-site made the weekend feel so special and intimate. The on-site houses were clean, cozy, and comfortable. The new houses are especially lovely and gave us options to gather throughout the weekend. The food at Sugar Hollow was incredible as well. Sugar Hollow catered the entire weekend, and every single meal was delicious. We really enjoyed our Italian feast (chicken piccata & Eggplant parm) and the brisket BBQ was fantastic. From the welcome dinner to the wedding reception, our guests couldn’t stop raving about each meal. They also did a great job managing dietary restrictions, our guests made multiple comments on how appreciative they were for it. Our wedding was a mix of indoor and outdoor aspects, and the staff helped us make the most of both. The flow of the weekend felt effortless, and we were able to fully soak in the beauty of the mountains and the warmth of our people. We couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect place to start our marriage. Sugar Hollow Retreat gave us not just a wedding day, but a weekend we’ll cherish forever.

The menu options are great and they’re also really flexible and try to make changes you may want whenever possible. The staff was incredible (special shout out to Nicole of course). Overall, I cannot recommend this venue enough. If you’re looking for a fun, family weekend and elevated camping vibes-this is it. We did yoga on the lookout deck and had a field day. Also, ending every night at the top of the mountain was the best. Campfires, hanging out in sitton house, eating leftovers from the events-it was awesome!  5 stars and a special thank you to everyone at Sugar Hollow!

s wedding. No detail was missed, no question unanswered, no vendor not coordinated by them allow us to enjoy the weekend. Even with a couple of "hic-ups" from a water heater issue, torrential downpours the morning of the ceremony, to a power outage at the hall--which was rectified well before the ceremony (and completely out of their control)--they were quick to react and ensure that those things were fixed quickly without so much as a blip of time in the day. The food was some of the best we have had, the staff polite, helpful and so friendly. Not one guest left a meal feeling hungry or that they had just consumed "wedding banquet food" It is a whole other level of culinary masterpieces, from the BBQ to the wings for lunch and the chicken, crab cakes, pork and prime rib for dinners!! Truly amazing. Our guests were so impressed with everything from the accommodations, to the property amenities (hiking, etc.), the kindness of the staff and the food. More than once was I told by multiple people that this was the best wedding they had ever attended. I can't speak highly enough about this venue and their staff--truly and honestly one of the best places in the mountains to hold a wedding!! If you want your daughter (or son) to have a picture perfect dream wedding--then this is your place. Side note to Nicole--thanks for "willing away the rain and bringing a rainbow to end the ceremony!! Forever grateful to you and the entire staff of Sugar Hollow for making my daughters dream wedding come true!

ny of my needs and questions. Nicole made everything run so smooth from the first time we met. I truly don’t think I could have gotten through the weekend with her or Jamie. They had calmed my nervous and had gone way above and beyond for everything. It was like planning your wedding with your bestfriend. I can’t express how much I truly appreciate everything they had done for us. I could not have picked a better place to have our wedding. Any single problem you could think of they could solve it in less than an hour. On top of that being able to have our family and friends stay on site in the cabins all weekend was a dream. I absolutely recommend this place.

ence as you rent the whole property from Thursday to Sunday. We had a Welcome Party on their overlook deck on Thursday night to welcome guests as they came into town. We had a Brunch and Rehearsal Dinner on the patio at OverMountain Hall on Friday. And our wedding Saturday was perfect! We also loved the fact that so many of our guests were able to stay on site. They are building even more cabins to allow for more guests! We received so many compliments on how unique our wedding was and how the bridal party and close family enjoyed being able to stay on the property together. One of the things that really drew me to this venue was the flexibility they offered. Some of the other venues we looked at were extremely strict on what vendors you could use and access to the venue. Sugar Hollow Retreat has fantastic coordinators! Nicole and Jamie were fabulous to work with! They were very helpful with the planning process and worked with us to make the things that were important to us work such as having a plated dinner. She made us feel so welcome and answered all our initial questions. The wedding coordinator, Nicole French, is nothing short of amazing! venue a truly unique and memorable experience. The planning, service, and experience of the staff is excellent. The knowledge they have regarding wedding planning in general and the vendors specific to the area was a huge help as we worked through all the details. We planned our wedding from out of state and the vast majority of our guests were from out of state as well. We had 65 guests stay on property with us Thursday through Sunday, and they all remarked about both the beauty of the location as well as how clean, well-equipped, and unique the different houses on property are. We catered in 3 meals (including our wedding night and rehearsal dinner) and provided 3 additional meals via Publix pickup with no issues. All of the planning done between us and the venue staff made it so that once we were there, we didn't have to leave property once all weekend. It truly allowed us to relax and enjoy time with our family and friends. The staff was also very flexible with us and the specific things that were important to us for our wedding. For example, we had our DJ keep the music going until 2am and some guests continued an after party even beyond that. Lastly, the staff was always around on property for anything we needed and to make sure the rehearsal and wedding day went smoothly. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to stay for a weekend with their guests in one of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen. We couldn't have asked for anything better for our wedding day.

ience. We opted for the all inclusive package, and the coordinator, Nicole French, really make the entire experience so easy and stress free! She booked all of the vendors, discussed seating arrangement options, decor, literally everything down to how much alcohol we needed to purchase for our guest count. Phenomenal experience all around. The quality of everything from the rooms, to the vendors, to the planning and execution was beyond anything we could have hoped for. The coordinator Nicole French is amazing to work with! Her communication was excellent and she handled everything so beautifully that there was no stress leading up to or during the day of the event. All of our guests cannot stop raving about how stunning and fun the entire weekend was! I cannot recommend Sugar Hollow enough, we truly had the wedding of our dreams and created memories that will last a lifetime.

getaway for all of our guests. The coordinator Nicole was incredibly helpful and made everything go smoothly the entire weekend. Wautaga Lake is very close and recommend renting boats and exploring the lake. There is limited cellular signal which made us happy because it made all of our guests hang out instead of being on their phones. Highly recommend getting married here!!

setup. The peace and tranquility that comes from the blissful smokey mountains were absolutely remarkable. Nicole was wonderful throughout the whole process from the tour to the day of. She put all the details together more than my wildest dreams and took all stress of planning away. We love Sugar Hollow and just hope our friends and family have a wedding there in the future so we can come back!!

oop and I truly never was stressed. Booking was so simple, the venue/lodging was beautiful and so clean. Our friends and family were all complimenting the venue the entire weekend. There was plenty of space for friends and family to stay (since we are out of town visitors) and we had plenty of space to visit and just enjoy our time with everyone. We had a mishap with our rehearsal dinner vendor and Nicole was at the cabin within 10 minutes of my frantic phone call and had an entire rehearsal dinner to us in less than 30 minutes. I cannot say enough good things. The day of the wedding everything went so smoothly and I genuinely just enjoyed 3 days worth of relaxing and marrying the man of my dreams. WELL worth the $, sugar hollow retreat is absolutely fabulous.

age and decor. There were 5 cabins and the lodge was perfect for all the wedding party and friends. All the kitchens were supplied with updated appliances and utensils. We wished our stay was longer and the cell phone reception better. But that’s the only complaints.

both have large families from all over the country and knew we wanted a space to REALLY spend time with them, and show them the beauty of East TN. Sugar Hollow provided that and then some. First of all, the views from the venue/property are truly some of the best we have ever seen (and we are from East TN ourselves). The cabins/houses are so homey and versatile, but the property gave our friends and family so many things to do outside of them. From lawn games and fires, to hiking or kayaking, it gave everyone space to do their own thing throughout the day. One of our absolute favorite things was having the ability to have everyone on site gather at The Lodge Thursday/Friday night for dinner. We provided dinner and drinks both evenings, and even had live music Friday night for our rehearsal dinner. The Lodge became a beautiful gathering place all weekend, and besides actually getting married, the time spent there with our closest friends and family was hands down the most memorable and best time of the weekend and debatably our entire lives. Now onto the actual wedding and Overmountain Hall.. I couldn't have dreamed a more beautiful spot to get married. The hall had everything we possibly needed, including the most gorgeous bridal suite that even had windows that allowed me and my bridesmaids to watch people roll in for the ceremony (one of my favorite parts). We are still receiving compliments on the views from OMH and the hall itself. My husband says the view of the mountains behind me as we said our vows was the best view he's seen in his entire life. As if the venue itself wasn't a dream, Nicole and Kaleigh (and Marty!) were SO helpful during the planning process and were there what seemed 24/7 to answer all the questions I had. They felt like friends at the end of the process. Really, truly, this place is magical and the magic was felt the entire weekend by my husband and I and our guests. There are SO many more details I could include and boast about, but this review would be endless. Sugar Hollow was THE best decision we made for our wedding and I would recommend it (and do it) over and over and over again.

and Sugar Hollow offered just that! Having on site accommodations was such a convince and really added to our whole experience. We had all of our bridal party stay in the lodge with us, and our family’s stayed in the other on-site cabins. Everyone loved their cabins and said how comfortable their beds were. The lodge, the largest cabin, was big enough for us to host a brunch on Friday morning, with all the equipment we needed to serve a large crowd. It served as a gathering place for everyone for the whole weekend and it was perfect. Everyone had a private room, but could also congregate in the bar or by the fireplace. Sugar hollow has several options for your ceremony location, so we used one of their locations, the overlook deck as our first look location. We wanted all of our friends and family to experience all the beauty this venue had to offer so we planned a group hike on Friday to the overlook deck, it was the perfect spot for photos with everyone and we loved that everyone got to see the spot where we would do our private first look. There are tons of trails on the property but we took a gravel road up to the overlook so it was easily accessible for people of all ages. A few of our guests also used some of the trails during down time. On of the other locations on the property is the Overmountain Hall, which was too beautiful to use just once, so we had our rehearsal dinner there, where we had a fire and played bags. The day of the wedding us girls got ready in their beautiful bridal suite, equipped with Hollywood mirrors and cute decor which was perfect for getting ready pictures. Our ceremony took place right outside of Overmountain Hall and it was just breathtaking with the sunset in the mountains behind us. We loved their covered patio and side patios with cocktail tables right outside of overmountain to use for our cocktail hour. The reception space at Overmountian Hall was everything we wanted and more! Just stunning! Their catering kitchen and bar came in handy, and the space was perfect for our group. One of my favored things about this space is their fireplace, and their beautiful tables and chairs! To top off the beauty of Sugar Hollow their staff is amazing! Marty, the owner is the property checked in with us when we arrived to make sure everything was okay, and she was so sweet! She went above and beyond to help us during our wedding weekend and even helped us intercept a very important package to prevent a groomsman attire mishap. Kaleigh, the main coordinator at Sugar Hollow is one of the reasons that we booked Sugar Hollow. She was so amazing helping with vendor suggestions, and making my vision come to life. Even their maintenance man was so nice from the second we came for our tour, to helping set up the day of. Our friends and family just raved about how much they loved the venue, and we loved that we got to share such an amazing experience with them! With all that this venue has to offer, there is no beating it!

are absolutely gorgeous. It is also truly a retreat--our guests absolutely loved getting to spend the whole weekend together and it made logistics easier too. Kaleigh is so lovely to work with and is extremely experienced in wedding planning and coordinating; I was shocked to find someone as detail oriented (dare I say obsessed) as myself, but Kaleigh did not disappoint!
