From start to finish, our experience with Ashley was a pleasure. I was totally clueless when it came to wedding cakes, and wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but she made the process easy and fun. She is extremely responsive, I bothered her with MANY questions and she would always get back to me and was always reassuring. The tasting was great. EVERYTHING she makes is out of this world and it is hard to choose a favorite. I love that she pays attention to little details, uses really high quality ingredients and you can see she really takes pride in what she makes. It was important to me that our cake looked pretty but also actually tasted good. Our cake was devoured at our wedding with not one piece leftover, and I got many comments from guests saying how good it was and asking who made it. On the cake we had plenty of fresh figs, blackberries, and greenery to match my decor. It was stunning. I would recommend her to anyone, you wont be disappointed!

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! She has a fun tasting set-up and is willing to make you pretty much whatever you want! Ashley was very pleasant to work with throughout my wedding planning process. There was a situation in which we were not receiving each other’s emails and I began to get frustrated. She apologized for the situation despite it being out of her hands and offered to provide the figs and blackberries we had requested free of charge, which I felt was very generous. However, when I looked at the cake on my wedding day it had less than a handful of blackberries and I’m pretty sure just a single fig that was cut in half, so I would have been writing a very different review had I paid $30 for a single fig! I’d recommend asking for specifics on what you’re getting if you are unsure. That being said, I found the cake to be super pretty and it tasted great. I normally wouldn’t pay what I did for a cake but for a special occasion like a wedding it really makes for a great decorative element!

Ashley was outstanding to work with. I gave her a bunch of photos that I liked elements of each and she read my mind into creating the most perfect cake for our day, that was delicious to say the least! Looking forward to our first anniversary so I can eat the topper!

Ashley is such a talented artist and baker and created the most amazing wedding cake for us! We had admired her work on Instagram for a while and when we reached out to her she was able to help my husband and I mesh together our two styles perfectly. He loves semi naked cakes while I’m a little more traditional so we had two clean frosted tiers with the top being semi naked. Everyone loved the details of our gold monogram and the blush watercolor effect and we got so many compliments from our guests! We got the funfetti flavor and it was so delicious, the frosting was perfectly light and fluffy. If you’re having a wedding in NY Sugar Lane is definitely the place to go for your cake!

Ashley is an extremely talented artist and a very skilled baker. She had us come in to taste all the different combinations and we had such a blast. The cake she created for us was absolutely amazing, it was exactly what we wanted from both a looks and a taste perspective. We received multiple compliments from our guests that it was the best wedding cake they have ever had (even better than the cake at their own weddings). Ashley will not disappointed! She is extremely easy going and patient. She worked closely with us to design the exact cake we wanted, and it was beautiful. We chose cinnamon icing with blueberry filling and almond cake (highly recommended). It was so delicious! We are so happy we kept the top tier for our 1 year anniversary (thanks for the suggestion, Ashley). We were blowing away by her designs on Instagram/website and immediately knew she could create what we wanted. With little information, she was able to design and tailor to us perfectly. Her designs are out of this world and she delivered our cake to Manhattan with no issues. We highly recommend Ashley and we look forward to making up an excuse to get another cake from her!

This review is long overdue, but the wedding cake Ashley made for us was so perfect that she deserves a glowing review even a year later. We could not have asked for a more delicious or beautiful cake. Ashley is an incredibly talented baker and artist, and her sugar flowers are unlike any I've ever seen. Apart from how happy we were with the final product, she was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was so amenable to our requests, gave us multiple breakdowns so that we could make an informed decision that worked with our budget, and made the experience so stress-free. We recommend her without any reservations, and would not hesitate to use her for future events.

The cake Ashley made us was not only absolutely beautiful but tasted incredible!! Our wedding was very small, immediate family only, and all I keep hearing is how much they loved the cake. Especially from the family members that hardly eat cake most of them had 2 slices if they could get their hands on a 2nd. I couldn't imagine a more perfect cake. We have been to a lot of weddings and the cake has never even touched how good Ashley's was. It might sound strange but we did an almond flavored cake, with cookies and cream buttercream and fresh raspberry jam. I love that she uses locally sourced and organic ingredients as well. The entire process of working with Ashley was simple, easy and a pleasure. We will definitely be reaching out in the future for other event cakes! Seriously, nothing can top a cake made by Sugar Lane!

I am absolutely SPEECHLESS!!!! Our wedding cake was not only delicious, it was VEGAN!! My husband is vegan and he really wanted a vegan wedding cake and after much searching, we were lucky to find Ashley. She made our cake come to life. The inside was almond raspberry vanilla with vegan Italian meringue buttercream. Our guests were raving about it. Ashley also made our cake look like mountains to fit our mountain/rustic theme. By far the BEST CAKE I EVER HAD!!

My word, I don't even know where to begin with Ashley and Sugar Lane Cake Shop! Our wedding cake was extraordinary. So much so, that we actually cut our top tier in half the day after our wedding so that we could have just a few more bites before we froze the rest and waited a year to eat it again! Ashley is an incredible artist. You can feel the care she puts into making each of her cakes perfect (Ashley also made a simply delicious bridal shower cake for me, as well. A rustic chocolate cake with a cookies and cream frosting that was devoured by all of my guests!) and each cake is equal parts exceptionally delicious and beautiful. Ashley provided the absolute best cake tasting that my husband and I went to with interesting flavor combinations and the freshest ingredients. I honestly couldn't picture going with anyone else after we met Ashley and tasted her samples. Ashley herself is also a treat - a fantastic person who is incredibly responsive and helpful. She was wonderful. She even helped us find our wedding coordinator when I was in a complete panic about getting everything done on time! The day of our wedding, our guests raved about our cake and how delicious it was. There was nothing left at the end of the night! If you go with Ashley and Sugar Lane Cake Shop for your wedding cake, I am sure you'll have the same exceptional experience.

Ashley is the absolute best. First of all, I want to be her best friend and I wish she could have been a guest at our wedding. Not only are her cakes GORGEOUS (seriously, go look at her gallery), but the taste is absolutely unreal. Fun fact, James and I are a military couple and he wasn't able to go to the tasting. Ashley packed up every single option individually, and labeled them so that I could bring them to him on base so he could be involved in the process. She is incredibly reasonable, thoughtful, and wildly talented. We got this adorable 3 tier cake, but used sheet cakes to serve all of our guests. I walked into the reception and almost cried at how gorgeous and personal it was. It was covered in flowers, with this freehanded navy blue water color, and gold specks. Tears. I will never use another cake shop for any special occasion again- and you probably shouldn't either...

Ashley was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the moment meeting her at our tasting we knew we had to book her! My cake came out absolutely beautiful and was everything that I hoped it would be. It was so delicious, everyone at our wedding is still raving about it ! We did one side almond cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream and the other side almond cake with blueberry filling and cinnamon buttercream. EXQUISITE If I could give Sugar Lane Cake Shop ten stars I would! Thank you Ashley, the cake was perfect- you are so talented.

Our wedding cake was an absolute show stopper. Ashley really outdid herself. It was an incredible masterpiece of edible art. We had a Chinoiserie porcelain themed wedding and gave Ashley free reins to do whatever she wanted as long as she stuck to the theme. We are creative people ourselves and we know how important it is to let Ashley do her own take on the theme. Not only did the cake look great, it tasted amazing too. We had 3 different flavours. Champagne cake with maple and honey buttercream, chocolate cake with cookies & cream and chocolate buttercream and a victorian sponge cake (white cake with fresh strawberries and strawberry filling.) Which wasn't in her menu but she made it for us when we requested it. Ashley also made 6 gluten free cupcakes for the cake table. We wished we saved a little piece of each tier for ourselves. I will be contacting Ashley for all my cake needs in the future.

Ashley was a pleasure to work with and helped guide us through the cake tasting and selection process. Her work is just stunning and while we weren't going to have a big cake - she helped us manage to our budget in selecting a small two tier, which was simply decorated (with some fresh flowers) and then having sheet cakes to cut from. We got several compliments on our cake flavors (we went with two different ones) and had fun in the process. I'd love to go back to her for additional cakes in the future! Ashley was a pleasure to work with. We ordered a gluten free cake, and it was delicious! Gluten free is typically dry and overly sweet, but Ashley has a way of baking moist and perfectly flavored GF cake. Everything from the initial tasting to pre wedding discussion to the final presentation was perfect. I couldn’t be happier. Definitely plan on going back to her for any larger events.

My cake came out absolutely beautiful and was everything that I hoped it would be. We went for a simple buttercream cake and trusted Ashley 1000% to exercise her amazing creativity. She is truly an artist! Upon arrival at our venue, Ashley adorned our cake with fresh flowers (roses, succulents, greenery, etc) provided by my florist and it came out perfect. Prior to our wedding, our tasting was so much fun and Ashley provided all different samples to try. We went with a delicious almond cake with fresh raspberry and vanilla buttercream....EXQUISITE! If I could give Sugar Lane Cake Shop ten stars I would! Thank you Ashley, the cake was perfect- you are so talented.

Ashley is talented beyond words!! I used Ashley for my bridal shower cake and our wedding cake. At my shower, everyone said they are most excited for the cake at my wedding! Her tasting is done so beautifully — she has all cake flavors and buttercream options available and fillings. She makes it so fun and is so patient with any design questions. We chose to do a 3 tier wedding cake with a double height bottom — which looked incredible! We did semi rustic buttercream and Ashely placed my flowers on my cake and it looked gorgeous! We couldn’t decide one flavors because EVERYTHING was so delicious so we ended up splitting our wedding cake — we did champagne cake and coconut buttercream and then almond cake with pistachio buttercream and raspberry. I don’t know if we will be patient enough for our year anniversary to eat the top tier! We will certainly be using Ashley for all future events! Thank you thank you !! xoxo

Oh my gosh, where do I even start! Ashley is truly gifted and talented. This has been the best experience ever. Not only did Ashley create my daughter’s wedding and bridal cakes but she outdid herself yet again, seven months later, at my wedding! Her combination of fruits and flavors are fresh and tasty. But best of all, are her eloquent designs and artistry...absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend Ashley for all events needing that special cake (and she also makes delicious gluten-free cupcakes!). Thank you, Ashley. You are amazing!

I knew I was going to love Sugar Lane Cake Shop from the moment we got to the cake tasting. The presentation of all the different cakes and buttercream was beautiful - and the cake tasted even better! Ashley gave my mom and I total freedom to combine whatever cakes and buttercream flavors we wanted to try. We ended up choosing two different combinations - almond cake with pistachio buttercream and lemon champagne cake with coconut buttercream and raspberry. They were both AMAZING! We decided on a rustic buttercream three-tiered cake and a half sheet cake. All of our guests said the cake was delicious! Thank you to Ashley for helping to make our wedding day so wonderful and delicious!

I found Sugar Lane Cake Shop on The Knot, and immediately needed to see more. After looking on Instagram I knew we had to have our wedding cake made here. The cake tasting was amazing & we had so much fun! Every combination Ashley presented was so delicious we couldn’t decide and we ended up with 3 flavors for our 3 tier cake. Ashley is so talented!! I met with Ashley for a cake tasting last year and knew immediately she was the one to make my wedding cake! Her cake and filling flavors were so creative, fresh and delicious. Attention everyone who doesn't like fondant! Ashley at Sugar Lane Cake Shop is the baker for you. For our wedding in June, Ashley baked a creation that was equal parts beautiful and delicious. The flowers that she handmade completely out of sugar, were so lifelike that my husband and I felt guilty eating the cake! She is super talented and we were so lucky to find her for our wedding. I would recommend Sugar Lane to anyone searching for an artisanal baker. Ashley is reliable, friendly, artistic and her cakes are divine. Ashley is phenomenal!! She so incredibly talented and easy to work with. We were blown away with our tasting for our upcoming wedding and booked her on the spot. Creative flavor combos, organic and truly fresh ingredients, beautiful designs. The tasting was unique because she had us mix and match many different buttercreams, fillings and cakes until we found our favorites. With this approach, we felt like we really played a role in customizing our cake for the big day. My bridal shower was last weekend and she created a gorgeous pink ombré two tiered cake with fresh raspberry and chocolate filling, plus a few vegan, gluten free cupcakes to accommodate guests with food allergies. She even provided an elegant cake stand, plus a cute cake topper. Everything was delicious and my friends and family cannot stop raving about it. This makes us even more excited for our wedding cake!! Finding Ashley was one of the highlights of our wedding planning process and I will absolutely work with her every time we need a cake for a big event! I would also say that it sometimes takes her a little time to respond to emails because she spends her days baking and prepping for weddings. So for nervous brides to be who prefer same-day responses, do not worry, you are in great hands!

Ashley is truly a GEM! Her work is unbelievable because not only are her cakes GORGEOUS but they also taste DELICIOUS. She was great to work with very responsive to our ideas and the tasting was such a fun experience. Her flavors are super fresh and actually taste like what they are suppose to be. Ashley is amazing! so down to earth, helping to make a hectic time of planning much lighter. The cakes both GF and regular were AMAZING and flew off the cake table, literally. Ashley seriously pulled through when it came to our wedding cake! I wasn't completely set on the idea of a cake - more of a savory person - but my husband really wanted one...that was until we met Ashley and tasted her cakes. "Unbelievable" is truly the only way to describe her flavors and her work. She is a pleasure to work with, designed a picture perfect cake that actually tasted AMAZING! Sugar Lane Cake Shop was our first and only cake tasting for our wedding! I dreaded the idea of a fondant cake - I greatly dislike it. When I came across Ashley’s beautiful cakes with NO fondant and AMAZING sugar flowers I immediately sent an email to set up a tasting. My husband didn’t even want to go because he doesn’t eat cake(until we met Ashley) - more of a muffin and cookie guy. He told me to pick whatever I wanted and he’d be ok with it. Let me tell you, we went together and he ate almost everything! He said we are booking with her now and we did. He picked almost all the flavors too :) We loved how she had different flavors and it wasn’t the typical chocolate and vanilla bakery cake. Everything was delicious and Ashley is such a sweet person to work with. Our wedding cake was everything we dreamed of! It was delicious and beautiful. Everyone commented on it! Ashley is a true artist, the sugar flowers she creates are just incredible. We have already asked her to make our daughters 2nd birthday cake!

Ashley was incredible to work with! She took the time and listened to all of our suggestions, asked for photos of exactly what we wanted, and let us sample as much cake as we needed ( not a bad way to spend a Saturday). The cake she created was STUNNING. Literally the cake of our dreams, and she even took the time to source the perfect vintage cake stand - above and beyond service. Oh, and it also tasted AMAZING! So many guests complimented the cake and how delicious it was. From start to finish the experience was flawless. If you like beautiful, tasty cakes (and are a bit of cake snob who hates the idea of a fondant cake, like myself) Ashley will literally make the cake of your dreams - buttercream frosting with champagne vanilla cake and raspberry filling was unreal as well as the lemon cake with pistachio frosting!!

I don't even know where to begin when it comes to our wedding cake. This was one of the things we were most looking forward to since we did our tasting a year and a half prior to our wedding. Ashley is the sweetest person to work with. She is kind, compassionate, loves what she does, and really listens to her couples to convey what they want in their cakes. She is more than an artist, she is a MASTER at sugar flowers. The flowers she made for my cake were so life-like, and also very delicious. We had a 3-tiered cake and she had no qualms about us doing different flavors on each tier... Chocolate mint cake with oreo buttercream, almond cake with chocolate and raspberry sauce, and champagne cake with chocolate and salted caramel buttercream. My guests RAVED about the look of the cake and the taste of it. It's been 3 weeks and I still have friends telling me how they loved my cake. From start to finish I have loved working with Ashley. She is an amazing baker, artist, visionary, and friend. Let her make you an amazing cake, you seriously won't regret it.

We turned to Sugar Lane Cake Shop when we had an issue with our venue's cake baker, which left us without a cake about 3 weeks away from our wedding. Ashley was so easy to work with, she made our last-minute order a breeze, and handled our mixed vegan/traditional cake order like the pro she is. She created such a beautiful vegan cake for us - vegan almond with raspberry filling and an espresso buttercream, and a traditional lemon sheet cake with raspberry filling and a lemon buttercream. All of our guests could not praise the cake enough, and we will be lucky if the top lasts to our first anniversary- my husband can barely wait! I'd give her 10 stars if I could!

5 stars just does not seem adequate enough for how amazing Ashley's cake was! She made a vegan cake that people are still raving about. Even the waitstaff commented that everyone loved the cake. Besides it being so so delicious, it was beautiful! I showed her a picture of a cake with wildflowers and she not only perfectly executed it but was willing to go through our florist and look for the best prices for flowers. She was very accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. I cannot recommend working with sugar lane for your wedding, you will certainly not regret it!

Ashley's cake at our wedding...OMG it was not only amazingly breathtaking but people were asking for more & craving more...we couldn't even wait the year to eat the top tier...we NEEDED it one night...it was the best cake I have ever had, hands down! DELICIOUS!!! I loved her work & her eye and palette for cake & design... it's true talent & beauty. Can't wait to have another occasion that calls for her cake!!

We hired Ashley at Sugar Lane Cake Shop to make our cake for our wedding June 3, 2017. I found her on the knot after an extensive search for a bakery who had the same design vision as I did. Ashley was a pleasure to work with, I described to her what I was looking for and could tell right away she totally got my vision. Sure enough I was right! Our cake was EXACTLY what I wanted, semi-naked and ruffled buttercream with gold leafing. So perfect, even down to the placement of the flowers! It was amazing and tasted just as amazing as it looked! Absolutely beautiful work and so delicious! Thank you!

Ashley was incredible at working with us through the process of choosing a cake. She even travelled to our home in NYC for a tasting and helped us decide on a design and worked within our constrained budget. The end result was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Those flowers she creates are insane! I don't know how she makes them look so real. Not to mention the cake was DELICIOUS. Our guests were raving out how beautiful it looked and how amazing it tasted as well. If we ever need another cake, Ashely will be the first person I'll call.

Ashley was so wonderful to work with. Not only did our cakes come out amazing, they tasted phenomenal. Everything was so delicious! We also had Ashley make our favors - jars of raspberry jam! I have had guests ask if I have any left over because they love it so much! Ashley is so talented - everything on our cakes came our so perfect. I cannot say enough about her and her work. It was the best cake we ever had. And the tasting she hosted for us was great - she allowed me and a few guests to come and try every. single. flavor. That is NOT traditionally offered at bakeries. Usually they give you a few of the "popular" flavors, but Ashley gave us every option and we took advantage. Sugar Lane Cake Shop is absolutely fantastic!!

Ashley was an absolute pleasure to work with. I am from LI but live in NYC and would travel to her no matter where she was just to have her cake at my event. She was so great and we totally trusted her judgement when designing our cake. From flavors to aesthetics, she knew exactly what we were looking for. Our cake tasting was so much fun - so many new, innovative, exciting flavors to pick from. Everything tasted fresh and clean, nothing tasted overly sweet or fake sugar-y. You could really taste the quality of her ingredients which was huge for us since we love great cakes an know that not every bakery uses the best, quality, fresh ingredients. The cake, filling, and icing options were so fun and creative - she pairs together the most perfect combinations, the cake is so outstanding. Everyone loved our cake and still talks about it. Ashley is fantastic. Great flavors, great creativity, great decorations that are so tastefully done, but most of all, great service!!! I can't wait to use her again for future events! Ashley was great to work with for our wedding 11/5/16. We were in a bind, less than a month before our wedding without a cake, after many failed trial cakes that didn't have the natural buttercream look. As soon as I saw Ashley's site, I knew her cake would be the one. We placed our order sight-unseen, no tasting because of the rush of busy season, and we were thrilled with the results. It was beautiful, and everyone loved the cookies & cream filling. Thank you!

Ashley and Sugar Lane Cake Shop was simply amazing. Our relationship with Ashley started in the middle of the winter maybe 9 or 10 months before the wedding. We did a tasting and expected to do many more tastings after. However, her cakes and frostings were sooooo good. The next tasting we did sealed the deal and we knew that we must use Sugar Lane. Ashley was exceptionally accommodating , my "wife" (so weird writing that) and I have completely different tastes, Ashley allowed us to choose two flavors each and 2 of the 4 tiers would be my wife's flavors and 2 would be mine. Other Cake shops were not willing to do that. Have I mentioned the cake tasted amazing and looked amazing as well. We went with a 4 tier, ruffled buttercream cake, with 2 tiers filled with pistachio and raspberry, 2 tiers with cookies and cream and chocolate ganache(clearly my tiers). Everyone at the wedding was complimenting us, not only on the design and appearance of the cake but also the taste. Simply and elegantly amazing, I will recommend Ashley and Sugar Lane to anyone who asks and probably those who don't ask as well.

Absolutely beautiful and delicious wedding cake ! My guests were raving about how amazing it tasted.. they still bring it up! I had a design in mind and once I saw the SugarLane website I knew Ashley was the one to make my cake. Her hand crafted sugar flowers are gorgeous and stunning- they look so real!. She has an amazing aesthetic and my cake came out more beautiful than I could imagine. Ashley was wonderful to work with and we had so much fun during our cake tasting. She is professional and has very fair pricing. Worth every penny! I dedicated an entire page in my wedding photo album just to the cake because it was that pretty! My husband and I were beyond happy with our experience with SugarLane !

My husband and I eat cake at every wedding so we know a lot about how much wedding cakes can suck, especially in Long Island. Since we were having a vineyard wedding out in Long Island we wanted to find someone nearby. I searched all over The Knot, local bakeries, friends recommendations, etc... and was consistently disappointed by the service, taste, photos of cakes, and lack of style. It wasn't until we stumbled upon Sugar Lane Cake Shop on The Knot and saw their website and Instagram that we fell in LOVE! The photos and style of cakes are beautiful and honestly my husband and I thought it was too good to be true to find something like this in Long Island especially with such quality ingredients. We decided a tasting wouldn't hurt, so we went for it and we ended up spending our entire session tasting and arguing about what flavors to pick for our cake. Ashley was very helpful narrowing down the flavors for us. Her creativity is astonishing! Our cake was so beautiful! Our guests and even our photographer who got really close to the cake thought the flowers were real. Another important thing was BUDGET. And Ashley was super helpful in meeting our budget, but not compromising taste or style. I really can't believe it. Sugar Lane Cake Shop was by far the best vendor in all of our wedding planning. As someone with very high expectations, Ashley exceeded them! My husband and I can't wait to recommend Sugar Lane Cake Shop to our friends so we can eat delicious cake at their wedding. Coming from a family who'd prefer dessert over a main course, I knew that my wedding cake had to both look great and taste even better. After a disappointing tasting with our venue's preferred bakery, I sought other options and stumbled upon Sugar Lane's website and Instagram. Every photo was more beautiful than the next, and I felt like Ashley 100% matched the style and vibe I was looking for. After reaching out to her via e-mail, she couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating - she gave us options for working within our budget, and always answered my (many!) questions promptly. It truly felt like I was working with an old friend - not a vendor I had just met! When we went to the tasting, every flavor and filling was so good that we had an insanely difficult time choosing. The end result was beautiful and so delicious that we didn't even wait to eat our top tier - it was gone within a month! I can't wait to work with Ashley again and am so excited to have found a cake designer that is not only incredibly talented, but such a wonderful person as well. Thanks for everything, Ashley!

If I could give Sugar Lane Cake shop more than 5 stars I would! Working with Ashley was a delightful experience. We had ordered 2 cakes. One small one for our vow renewal out in Montauk, and a large one for our anniversary party at Verde in Bayshore. I have never had such amazing cake in my life. The Montauk cake was almond with a honey and peach filling, and the Bayshore cake was chocolate with cookies and cream filling, and a tier of almond cake with pistachio and raspberry filling. The pistachio and raspberry was an usual combination that we tried at Ashley's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. Overall, I am so incredibly happy at the way they turned out, and I am looking for any excuse to get another cake from Sugar Lane Cake Shop in the future! :)

Where do we begin? Our first experience with Sugar Lane and Ashley was when my wife (then girlfriend) needed a cake for her mom's surprise party. She ordered a small cake, with toppers that were made to look like each of their two poodles. When we picked up the cake, we were AMAZED. The toppers were awesome, and the cake itself was a work of art. That was all BEFORE we even tasted the cake. The cake tasted even better than it looked (which we didn't think would be possible). From that point on, we were hooked. We've worked with Sugar Lane on basically every major moment in our lives since. They made a cake for the day we got engaged, for our engagement party, for my wife's bridal shower, and of course - our wedding cake. The whole process was stress free. We had our tasting (which was SO much fun), and talked to Ashley about all of the specifics of our wedding. She made things so simple for us. I've had the pleasure of photographing some of their cakes, so we knew what to expect. But we were absolutely blown away when we showed up on our wedding day and saw our cake. It absolutely exceeded our expectations, and we got countless compliments on how beautiful it was. The attention to detail, care, and creativity that goes into these cakes is stunning. And have I mentioned how AMAZING they taste?! We had a few different cake flavors and frosting flavors, and it was impossible to decide which combo was better. To be perfectly honest, the mini cake she made us for our first anniversary may not make it the full year, because it's hard to look at in the freezer every day and not want to devour it! Ashley is an confectionary artist!! That's the only way to properly describe her. Being a fellow pastry chef I had extremely high expectations and standards for the company that would be doing my wedding cake - seficicate to say she is now my go to for any cake I need. (A short story... Most people never remember nor care about the wedding cake at the end of a reception- it tends to be the most over looked part of the event - at my 250 person event I had almost every single person in the weeks to follow say "i wanted more cake!!" .... Who ever hears that!!!! Her attention to detail, artistry, and execution is flawless. Combine with her exquisite flavors and buttercream techniques makes her a brilliant shining star in a dull black sky of mediocre fondant crazed people. Ashley was absolutely fabulous to work with. Sweet and accomodating, she came all the way into the city to set up the cutest tasting for us (come hungry). The cake for our big day was flawless and delicious! We decided we aren't waiting to eat the top; its happening next weekend!

I found Sugar Lane Cakes on Instagram. I fell in love with the look of their cakes; they look like art. Granted, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but these cakes are beautiful, and taste even more amazing than they look! We met with Ashley and did a quick tasting. This was the easiest decision my fiance and I made. We barely got out the door and already made up our mind. We wanted a cupcake tower. The ladies at Sugar Lane Cake Shop nailed it! We choose 3 flavors, and we still cannot pick a favorite. I am allergic to dairy, so was fortunate that they make some cakes using champagne instead of dairy if you want. Our guests loved the cupcakes. We were also really excited for them and made sure to sit down and enjoy them. We did 3 flavors: champagne cake with pistachio buttercream, lemon champagne cake with raspberry buttercream, and almond cake with vanilla buttercream. The flavors were perfect for our summer wedding and bold enough to be the perfect end of the night. The presentation was beautiful. We are so happy with our decision to go with Sugar Lane Cake Shop. THE BEST! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Ashley was such a gem to work with throughout our process.

One word: INCREDIBLE. From start to finish everything about working with Ashley was amazing. The attentiveness to what we had wanted, the array of flavors of cakes and fillings was out of this world, and then our visions came together better than I imagined on the day of. Everyone kept talking about how amazing our cake was. I ate it for two days after- that's how good it was. We went with a semi-naked champagne cake with chocolate ganache and salted caramel buttercreme filling. It has been almost a week since my wedding and people are still talking about it. I will never go anywhere else for cakes or baking needs. I was so genuinely happy! Thank you Ashley for everything you did for us and being so wonderful to work with. You made it effortless!

Ashley and the entire team at Sugar Lane Cake Shop were absolutely the most amazing people to work with. When we wanted a "naked cake" for our Long Island, DIY Barn Wedding in May 2016, we searched VERY hard for an affordable (and delicious) wedding cake. We also were determined to use a vendor who supported local businesses and who used local natural and fresh ingredients. Even with our long list of must haves, Sugar Lane delivered. I was first introduced to Sugar Lane Cake Shop cakes at my best friends wedding in December of 2014. When I saw her cake, I couldn't believe that the flowers on the cake were made out of sugar. It looked too good to eat! My best friend also had Ashley make favors for the guests. The mini mason jars and the sugar flowers, that was where I fell in love. I was sold right then and there. I knew Ashley would be making my wedding cake. I didn't even have a date set at that point despite being engaged for over a year, but I knew my cake would be amazing! Ashley is a wizard in the kitchen. Her cake and buttercream is unlike anything you have ever tasted in your life. Every single flavor is one hundred percent delicious. The tasting Ashley does for you and your fiancé is by far one of the most amazing experiences of wedding planning, I wish I could do it all the time! She pairs the most amazing fruit and flavors with this super creamy buttercream that just melts in your mouth. Her presentation is top notch! We had such a great time at the tasting. Ashley is a rockstar. Most people probably don't fall in love with both their wedding cake AND their baker but we did! Ashley is just so amazing! As part of my bachelorette party weekend, a group of us went to a sugar flower class. It was so very cool to see and learn how to make the flowers! We had a great time with Ashley and Fran! I would attend every one of the workshops she offers but unfortunately, I work weekends. If you want a unique cake that is absolutely beautiful and also tastes great, look no further. We loved Sugar Lane's cakes so much that we had TWO wedding cakes! This is one decision you don't have to stress over! Meet with Ashley, you will be beyond impressed!

Ashley was a delight to work with. She had so many great ideas and helped us decide on the perfect cake for our wedding, incorporating flowers from our bouquets into the cake. At the tasting, she had more flavors of cake, buttcreams and fillings than I have room to list here! All of which were so good, it was so hard to choose! We received so many compliments on both the look and taste of the cake! People were standing around it in awe that the flowers were made from sugar! I just love love love Sugar Lane Cake Shop. I was introduced to them by a co-worker. When I went for the cake tasting for my venue I was not impressed with my cake options. I was not sure what I was going to do because my wedding cake was very important to me. When my co-worker showed me the website of Sugar Lane Cake shop, I was in awe!!! I had a cake tasting with Ashley, I knew I had to work with her. Her sweetness matched her beautiful cakes. She worked with me to think of a design that would work with my theme and was really engaged in the whole creative process. This was one of the best decisions I made for wedding. I am so happy are stars aligned and we met. As of this date Sugar Cake shop has made cakes for many of my friends and family and not one unsatisfied customer!!! I love everything about them.

ashley and Sugar Lane were by far and wide the one of the best vendors to work with. from tasting (ashley set up an intimate and amazing tasting for my fiance, my mom and i complete with every cake, icing and filling flavor as well as champagne). once we settled on cake logistics and flavors, we chatted decor, etc. all i had to do was fill ashley in on the little details of our wedding and she did the rest. she delivered pure edible art on the day of our wedding (and traveled a few hours for me too!) our cake was perfect in every way from taste and detail to being the focal point of our dessert table. sugar lane is no doubt the best and ashley will be a forever friend!
