Sugar Shack Bakery

Monica and the whole crew at the Sugar Shack Bakery is unbelievable and so sweet. They were the only group in the area when they heard what we wanted were right on board. They custom created our wedding cake flavors of lavender and lemon and worked with me for months perfecting it. We were very happy to try out all the prototypes and when it came to the big day it was oh so yummy. I recommend dropping by Wimberly to see them and grabbing a bite to eat there at the same time. We will definitely continue to use them in the future for any baking needs.

We had a bridal topper,125 cupcakes, and a grooms cake. The cupcakes were in 5 different flavors:(yes you can do that with cupcakes)peanut butter and banana,Oreo,red velvet with cream cheese frosting,Italian cream cake,and chocolate fudge. The price of the cupcakes was so good that we had extras for people to have 2 or more and then take some home with them, and who wouldn't love that? Then we had the best carrot cake I have ever tasted in my life for our bridal cake. It was moist with just the right amount of spice and with cream cheese and butter cream icing...Best choice ever. The grooms cake was triple chocolate sour cream espresso cake with Bavarian cream filling! I wish I could teleport to wimberly just to have some of that cake again. My husband and I will definitely order some for our first anniversary.

We used Sugar Shack bakery for our wedding cupcakes. We decided to forgo a traditional cake and use cupcakes instead. The cupcakes were DELICIOUS!! They were beautiful too! We had maple bacon flavor (made with real bacon) and a white sour cream cake with lemon icing. Everyone loved them! We ordered extra a few days before and the bakery was very accommodating to everything we asked for. Luckily we ordered extra because there weren't many left at the end of the night! The pricing was fantastic, the ladies that run it are so helpful and polite. Overall we were very highly satisfied and will be stopping in at the bakery anytime we're in Wimberley!

While I did not deal with Sugar Shack directly, all I can base them on is their final product. Which let me assure you, was OUTSTANDING! My family handled taking care of getting all of this sorted out, but I heard nothing but good things. I know they were on a pretty tight timeline given that we decided to have the cake made pretty last minute. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted but I had a few pictures for ideas. They were able to take all of those and turn them into an outstanding cake. I hope that everyone can have a vision for their wedding cake and have it seen through by Sugar Shack like they did for me!

My husband and I had a great tasting experience and found the staff to be really professional and helpful. We opted for cupcakes in various flavors and also ordered a small round cake for us to cut and serve. We picked up the order ourselves and really appreciated the care they took in packaging everything to ensure smooth transport to the venue. The cakes were soooooo delicious and our guests really liked having variety. I absolutely recommend Sugar Shack Bakery to those with dessert/catering needs in the future.

We had a hard time choosing which flavor because everything we tried was delicious. We ended up deciding on a lemon cake with real blueberry filling between the layers for our wedding cake, and the Texas whiskey cake for the groom's cake. Both turned out beautifully. I even threw multiple changes at them just before the final payment was due. They were very understanding and they got everything right. I was able to drop off my cake stand and cake topper beforehand for them to transport with the cake which was nice, because we live four hours away and it was two less items to remember to pack. They were able to take our ideas and turn them into exactly what we envisioned. They even made a miniature golfer to top the groom's cake. We were very happy with Sugar Shack, and we also recommend you try them for breakfast =)

We had heard such great things about Sugar Shack that it pains me to write this review. From the very beginning things were rocky. We had an appointment for a tasting and when we showed up, the woman we were supposed to meet with wasn't there. She had forgotten about us and didn't tell the other staff. So we ended up having to wait for her to rush over, and had a very impromptu tasting. We were a bit irritated right off the bat, but the taste of their cakes made up for that in a hurry. We showed them a picture of the cake we envisioned, which depicted a worn, leathery brown/yellow baseball. We were assured it would be no problem to replicate this cake. I don't know where the communication breakdown happened, but when we first saw the cake (walking over to cut it during our reception), I almost lost it. The cake definitely looked like a baseball - but bright white. It looked like a 10 year old's birthday cake. We were so extremely disappointed. The flavor, once again, was astoundingly good. The design however was way off the mark. When we got home the next day, the first thing I did was email Sugar Shack and ask what happened - and it's now been 10 days and I have not received a response. I sadly cannot recommend Sugar Shack to do any custom work for you. Their cakes taste fantastic, but the customer service and design aspect were highly lacking.
