A wedding is such a special day full of so many moving pieces. Jon made music a huge part of our day from the ceremony through the reception bringing joy through sound. He is truly a talent blending songs together, helping navigate events (dances, cake, announcements, etc), and communicating with us so much before our big day. He helped put us at ease of any qualms we had. In addition, our Photo Booth attendant was so sweet! He was helpful, efficient, and helped everyone get in, take some great shots, and get back to the dance floor. I would recommend Sugarbomb to anyone that needs entertainment for their events.

We absolutely loved working with Sugarbomb for our wedding. They were prompt, easy to work with, and the music was truly perfect for both our ceremony and reception. We had so much fun!! I feel like Jalen really got to know us with the questionnaire and phone call together. 100% recommend.

We used Sugarbomb to book our wedding music and could not be happier that we did. Wow!!! Soulcity Shakedown of Sugarbomb Entertainment brought incredible energy to celebrate the start of our lives together. Multiple people told us that they were the best wedding band they’d ever heard. That being said we hope to see them at a loved one’s wedding soon since we cannot say enough good things about them and recommend them to everyone we know getting married. Also, Jon was super easy to work with and made us feel confident that on the big day they’d be able to take care of everything when it comes to the music at the wedding. It’s also important to say that our wedding was in New City,NY and even with travel the affordability was second to none compared to the other bands in the area

We couldn’t have been happier with Sugarbomb Entertainment for our wedding. Jon Ardito, the owner and our DJ, was experienced and smooth throughout the process. In our pre-event meetings, he reviewed the checklist, order of events, and song requests, ensuring everything was exactly how we wanted it. He arrived early on the big day to ensure everything was set up perfectly, which put us at ease. Jon honored our must-play list and captured the vibe we wanted. He effortlessly read the room and kept the dance floor packed all night. His balance of DJ and MC duties was natural and never overdone. We also added draping, uplighting, a dance floor, and the GLAM booth, which transformed the reception space. We were so impressed that my brother booked Jon and Sugarbomb for his wedding next year. We highered Sugarbomb Entertainment for our wedding and got a DJ (ILLMATIQ) and a photobooth through them. They were such a pleasure to work with. Our DJ, ILLMATIQ, was so responsive to out music choices and did an amazing job throughout the night. The music never stopped and everytone had so much fun on the dance floor! The photobooth was so much fun! We got to recieve all the pictures a few days later which was so special. Would highly recommend Sugarbomb for your next event!

We couldn’t highly recommend Sugarbomb and specificity DJ Illmatic enough. The dancefloor was among the most significant, if the single biggest highlight of our wedding.  Sugerbomb was a dream to work with. Jon and his whole team’s experience showed; they managed the AV very well and were very thoughtful about what would and would not work in our space regarding both the AV and lighting. Jon guided us on the microphone setup during the ceremony in the right direction. Their system for managing music preferences is well-considered and thorough (we were quite particular and they were very gracious in working with us on our full playlist that we curated in addition to giving them general preferences). The coordination with our wedding planner and the venu was excellent and didn’t require much engagement from us. In short, they were amazing to work with and we highly recommend! We choose DJ Illmatic for his alignment to our music taste and his expert mixing and transitions from the samples and online music we had heard. He pleasantly surprised us with his insights on how to manage a crowd and his adaptability to our preferences. We spoke on 2 occasions before the wedding and he came to every conversation with thoughtful ideas about how to make the musical experience even better.  He delivered above and beyond on the day of our wedding - the dancefloor was packed throughout the night, every song was beautifully transitioned through, and he lined up bangers after bangers. We still hear about how rare our dancefloor was - there was never a moment where you wanted to leave it. He did also did a great job with a light MC role and navigating background music in a museum with challenging acoustics. 

Jon was amazing! From the prep call to go through our song lists to the end of of special night, the guy never missed a beat. Played every song we requested and at the perfect times throughout the night. He also was excellent at reading the room throughout the night and incorporating songs that everyone loved. Could not have been happier with choosing Jon and Sugarbomb for our night that we wont' forget. Thanks, Jon!

We had the best experience working with Sugarbomb Entertainment! We hired Soul City Shakedown 10 piece band for our August 2023 wedding and could not have been happier! Jon and the entire crew were so easy to work with, responsive, and truly blew us away with their talent and energy. The band had no problem with learning a new song for our first dance and were exactly what we were looking for in terms of interacting with the crowd and keeping the energy going all night. We also had the guitarist play during our ceremony and a trio for our cocktail hour. Most importantly, the microphone volume and sound quality during the ceremony and speeches was perfect. Would 100% recommend!

Soul City Shakedown played at our wedding in December at Cescaphe Ballroom and we couldn’t have imagined a better performance! The 9 piece band really commanded the room and the dance floor was PACKED the entire night. Brian the guitarist did an excellent job as the musician during the ceremony/precession and the piano and saxophone players were the perfect addition during cocktail hour. Jon Ardito was terrific to work with throughout the whole process. Very laid back, easygoing, and communicative, and he made sure we had everything we needed. We couldn’t recommend them more! We went with sugarbomb because he was recommended by the venue and chose Jon specifically because as the owner we felt he would be the most invested in doing a good job. It was the best decision we made during the whole wedding planning process. I cannot recommend Sugarbomb and especially Jon enough! All of our guests had so much fun. He did such a great job, and gave us so much help and guidance throughout the planning process. A few days before the wedding we decided to add the photo table challenge that we'd seen on TikTok and our photographer recommended (couple sits in the middle of the dance floor and the dj announces tables to come up and take pics with us but we have to get through them in one song) even though it was last minute he was totally adaptable and worked with us. It was so much fun. Jon was an excellent DJ but also an excellent MC for the night. He helped make sure everything ran smoothly and did a great job introducing the speeches. He was funny without making himself the center of the attention. I especially loved how that he announced the last 3 songs, and chose the perfect 2 to put right before our last one. I know they were on my must play list but I had no idea he'd use them like that and it just made the whole night even more perfect. 6 months later I still have people telling me that they think of me everytime they hear one of those 3 songs and virtually everyone I speak to tells me still how it was the most fun they ever had at a wedding. I would get married once a year if I could afford it and I knew sugarbomb and Jon esp would be available to DJ for me everytime.

Sugarbomb entertainment was a pleasure to work with for many reasons: 1) Jon was quick to reply to all of our requests, extremely friendly and offered us multiple options that would fit our needs (photo booths, lighting, multiple DJ's to choose from, strings) 2) Once we selected Sugarbomb they were available for multiple calls as we crafted our day of itinerary. 3) The strings had never heard of our obscure song selection so they learned it for us for a reasonable fee and it sounded amazing 4) We selected DJ Martin from their extensive list of DJ's and he was a true professional. He incorporated all the song requests we had, maybe more importantly he made sure to not play anything we didn't want to hear. He ran the day-of event smoothly. And the best part was the dance party. Multiple guests said it was the best wedding DJ they've heard. He picked all the right songs to keep our guests on the dance floor all night long, highly recommend! 5) The photobooth was a hit! The pictures came out great, we received an online album of all our guests photos and the man who ran the booth was extremely personable and let people have a lot of fun while taking pictures. I highly recommend that you use Sugarbomb entertainment, you'll be in great hands through the entire process

Jon did an amazing job keeping everyone on the dance floor and making the vibe electric. He was super easy to work with and understood exactly what type of music we wanted to hear. Also, having a saxophonist there was such a fun addition to our big day. We highly recommend!

From the moment we chose Sugarbomb Entertainment for our wedding day (and even before we booked!) Jon made the process so easy. He was extremely responsive along the way, and as the day got closer, worked with us to make sure he had all the details exactly right. Admittedly, I am not the most decisive person, and Jon was able to offer suggestions to help make the day even better. Jon and his staff were professional throughout the entire event, even with the many song requests he was receiving (thank you Jon!!!!😅) He had a great energy and the dance floor was packed the entire night. We had a fantastic experience working with Sugarbomb Entertainment and highly recommend them. We engaged Sugarbomb for their DJ offering (Martin) and a photobooth. Sugarbomb was very easy to work with and helped us stay on top of our timeline. Martin was the perfect DJ for us with a combination of helping us see our blind spots in our planning and also accommodating our requests (no matter how many we changed at the last minute). He was also very calm and collected at all times, which was thankfully contagious. He, as promised, made sure that people were dancing on the floor the entire time. We highly recommend asking him to exercise his DJ creativity. He is a true professional. The photobooth was an excellent touch and was well used. We really liked the background of our venue so we opted out of using Sugarbomb's backgrounds (also union labor reasons). We used the option that provides real time prints which we would do again. They are lower resolution than what they will send to you electronically, but it is nice to have something immediately to put on your fridge.

We got married this past September, and it was wonderful working with Jon Ardito and his band Soul City Shakedown of Sugarbomb Entertainment. The group is extremely talented and highly professional to work with. From the beginning, Jon was quick to respond to our inquiry and ask us detailed questions to ensure we were paired with the most appropriate band in the entertainment group to fit the vision for our wedding. As the date approached, he was proactive and helped us organize music selections for our ceremony, cocktail hour, entrances, first and last dances, and gauge what we (and our guests) would enjoy hearing throughout the night on the dance floor. Wedding planning is stressful enough and the thought of selecting music/songs can seem overwhelming when you have an eclectic taste. Jon broke down the night into different phases and provided guidance along the way. This allowed my husband and I to thoughtfully plan what certain points of the night would look and sound like, while still letting the band have fun, be creative, and play tunes they love most too. (As musicians ourselves, the later was extremely important to us.) Soul City Shakedown was tight! The emcees got our party started right and kept our guests engaged the whole time. We were out on the dance floor moving (and singing along) to jazz standards, blues, funk, disco, Motown, with some classics in between all night long. Many of our friends and family are musicians and commented how great the band sounded in the venue space (Globe Dye Works) as well. Working with Jon and Soul City Shakedown was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. The group captured our vision and ran with it, making it a memorable experience for all. We highly recommend working with Sugarbomb!

Jon Ardito from Sugarbomb Entertainment did such a great job at our wedding. Jon was super easy to work with and customized the music for the night to our taste and was able to read the room and keep everyone dancing all night. With so many things to stress about at a wedding, it was so nice that Jon and sugarbomb entertainment made it very streamlined and stress-free.

We got married in May, and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience working with Jon and with Sugarbomb entertainment. From the very first phone call, Jon was engaged, conscientious, eager to hear about our thoughts, and ready to suggest alternative or additional options. We were interested in having live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and he talked through what those options could look like, addressed any concerns we had, and connected us with a wonderful pianist (who did a beautiful job!). In the months leading up to our wedding, Jon was always responsive, and was proactive about reaching out to set up times to discuss our music choices, event schedule, and other details. We never had any concerns about him or his team! The wedding itself was perfect--he did a great job throughout the event, carefully attended to our musical preferences, and kept the dance floor packed with his selections! We can't recommend him highly enough.

We looooved working with Jon from Sugarbomb Entertainment! My fiance wanted to have a Jazz trio at the cocktail hour, and Sugarbomb had a great package for the ceremony pianist, Jazz trio, and reception DJ. The Jazz trio was a huge hit! We loved the ambiance they added to our outdoor cocktail hour! Jon killed it as our reception DJ. I gave him very little direction on music, but every song he played was a banger. He kept the party going and was a great emcee for the whole evening. We also had a dance instructor teach a lesson, and Jon was great at coordinating and making sure the instructor was set up well. Thank you for everything, Jon!

We booked Jon at Sugarbomb for our June 2023 wedding after hearing amazing reviews from friends in the area. They were not wrong!! We had SO much fun with Jon! He took the time to walk us through the evening beforehand, and understand our vibe/vision for the night. Execution was flawless! We had also booked our lighting through Sugarbomb, we went with uplighting during dinner and some motion changing uplighting for post-dinner dancing. Everyone had such an amazing time, can't recommend Sugarbomb enough. Thank you, Jon!

Ricky Martin did a fantastic job DJ'ing our wedding. We had a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, from kids to grandparents - he managed to get the dance floor bumping for all, including desi/indian songs! He also helped the bride's nervous father sing a song karaoke-style. We highly recommend Ricky & sugarbomb entertainment!

Soul City Shakedown (Sugarbomb Entertainment) was the key to a fantastic evening. The musicians and singers were all amazing… and the singer who came out and sang on the dance floor keep the energy fluid! All of our guest wanted to know where we found such an amazing band. Jon Ardito was in touch with us several times to make sure he understood the run of show and that we were aligned with music preferences. In addition to the dance music they provided lighter jazz during the cocktail hour. We could not have been more satisfied.

Jon was awesome and great to work with! We went with Central City Orchestra for our band, and they were phenomenal! Everyone was saying they were the best wedding band they have ever heard. The dance floor was full all night- young and old. We also got the photo booth and I highly recommend doing that as well! We got to pick our own design for printing and have an attendant there all night. I highly recommend working with Sugarbomb and Jon for your wedding or any event!

Jon and Sugarbomb provided with us a great service for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. After meeting with us, he understood our musical tastes and weaved it in throughout the day. He provided all the equipment we needed for our vows, to our speeches and to bringing the party on the dance floor. Hard-working & patient are two of the first words that come to mind when describing Jon. Back in January, my fiance and I went to one of Soul City Shakedown's showcases, and they blew us away! Right off the bat, Jon was willing to answer all of our questions and accommodate our wishes (we decided to include a string duo for our ceremony & cocktail hour in addition to SCS for our reception). Then, Covid hit. Jon remained optimistic and supportive as we decided to "wait and see" if we could make our mid-July wedding happen. Unfortunately, our venue had to abide by NJ's guidelines -- our guest list had to be cut from nearly 130 to fewer than 15 of our family members, everything had to be outdoors, and we could not have a band/DJ (the venue didn't want our wedding to conflict with their outdoor dining entertainment). Through all of that mess, Jon stayed supportive & professional. Although we were only able to have the string duo play for our ceremony, I would still absolutely recommend Jon & Soul City Shakedown to anyone who's looking for a high-quality, well-run band by a genuinely good guy.

We had Jon and Soul City Shakedown perform at our January wedding and our guests are still talking about them! They were the BEST! From start to finish, Jon was extremely professional and easy to work with. Jon’s team will make it happen. Jon came highly recommended to us by our venue and catering vendor – you can tell Jon is a hardworking guy. He listened to us to understand what we wanted and then worked with us to make our dream wedding happened! The music and the atmosphere was perfect for our wedding. It started with the romantic ceremony and cocktail hour with the string trio. Then, the amber lighting (arranged by Jon’s team) made for some great shots and the dance floor was going strong all night! Cheddy is a talented DJ and did great job with emceeing. We are so grateful that we had Jon and his team as our partner!

We worked with Jon and Soul City Shakedown for our wedding and I can’t say enough amazing things about the experience! The band was so much fun and did a great job at keeping the energy high all night. Jon was extremely easy to work with and helped provide suggestions but also accommodated all of our asks. I love when vendors hear you out but also stand firm in their recommendations, after all they are the pros and do this all the time! Jon explained to us what works best and provided suggestions to make the night go smooth. We loved having SCS at our wedding and they made the entire evening a blast!! Jon and DJ Cheddy were incredible!!!! They were super focused on what vibe we wanted, and made sure the night was a big party (as we requested)!!!! DJ Cheddy had everyone on the dance floor in no time!! We are super grateful for these 2 and HIGHLY recommend them!! 😁

We hired several musicians with Jon and it was a great decision. We had the string trio play at the ceremony, pianist at the cocktail hour, and DJ at the reception. Jon was easy to coordinate with and all the musicians at our wedding were great and so friendly. Jim was our pianist as well as leader of the string trio and he was great! We also had DJ Cheddy at the reception that made things a lot of fun. We would definitely recommend booking anyone through Jon!

I may be biased BUT these guys are incredible! The one important thing for us at our wedding was to have everyone dancing and I must say, our DJ/MC had the dance floor completely packed! We had a pianist/guitarist during the ceremony and cocktail. Kat has the most amazing, angelic voice! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! We got so many compliments on the music and still do to this day!

Being in the business, I have connections with many bands and dj's. There was no doubt that we would hire Soul City Shakedown for my only daughter's wedding. Jon and his band were amazing all night. My daughter's only concern was that on a Sunday, folks would leave early. The event was over at 11pm and the dance floor was still packed. I will continue to recommend these guys. Thanks again Jon!

WOW - we knew we were in good hands when we booked with Jon way in advance of our wedding. We told him what we were looking for and our budget and he steered us in the right direction. DJ Joel was AMAZING. I can't rave about him enough! Not only was he easy going but he was easy to work with - I was not stressed at all about what needed to happen for our DJ or day of. Joel knocked it out of the park both at the ceremony and the reception. For starters, our ceremony was outdoors and in a location where there were no electrical outlets. Joel brought his portable speaker system and none of my guests had any issues hearing the music, us, or our officiant. The real icing on the cake was our reception -- Joel did such a good job getting the party started that we had to have him ask people to sit down to eat their dinners! Countless guests from our party have approached me to ask about Joel and how we booked him. We couldn't have asked for anyone better to make our party so successful. I can't stress enough how awesome the entire day/night was - if you're on the fence, don't be! Hire Joel! He's fantastic!!

THE best dance band in PA hands down, no question - from the first email to final details, Jon was professional, patient and easy to work with when we decided to move forward with Soul City Shakedown.  We made a few special requests and had two unique parent dances, and let's just say that there's nothing this band CAN'T do - truly!  I trusted Jon prior, but I have to say we were absolutely blown away once the big day arrived and they well exceeded our expectations. Nomi was our MC/lead singer and she was absolutely phenomenal.  She made her way to the dance floor several times getting all our guests riled up, and if that wasn't enough the band kept made my husband and I cry like two big married babies during the last song of the night xD Overall it was the one key element guests could not stop talking about, I was so happy to find this gem of a group from the heart of Philly.  Thanks for making the trip all the way out to Hawley, PA SCS - we love you so much and cannot wait to visit you all sometime in Philly!  E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!

Soul City Shakedown is such an amazing band!! We still have people telling us how awesome our band was at our wedding months after! Jon was always very responsive and the band was very accommodating to what we wanted them to play! They also really know how to read the room and get people dancing and they time the cake cutting/special dances etc. perfectly. Everything went seamlessly. We would HIGHLY recommend them for your event!

I chose this band after hearing only 30 seconds of them playing. We caught the last bit of their last song for a trial but that was all I needed to hear to know they were the ones for our wedding. I cannot even begin to count the number of guests who complimented our choice of the band. Everyone always starts with: "It was all so beautiful....and that band!" Jon was SO professional and did an absolute above and beyond job controlling the vibe of the room. They knew how to get the crowd quiet for toasts and exactly when to start bumping up the beat to initiate some serious dancing. The sound and vocals were absolutely TOP NOTCH. They even helped us with a few unique requests: a pre-recording for our introductions, an unconventional "first dance" song AND some polka for my polish descent grandfather who has quite the polka moves for an 89 year old. Jon was extremely accommodating with all of our requests and truly gave us everything you would ever want in a band for your wedding.

WOW! Of all of our fabulous vendors, our guests left the party talking about Soul City Shakedown. The band had our guests up and dancing all night long, and the energy they brought to the party was above and beyond. Jon was prompt and prepared and had every detail of the day covered. His musicians are so incredibly capable - any genre, any style, they can do it and knock it out of the park. Gnomi, our emcee for the evening, was both professional and polished while also being warm and inviting. If music is important for you on your big day, look no further. We can't say enough good things about Jon Ardito's Soul City Shakedown, and our guests have been raving about the quality of the band. We had the 6-piece band, and they perfectly executed exactly the vibe we wanted, and the emcee Gnomi struck the perfect balance of letting our guests chill and then getting everyone on the dance floor. She really read the room, and even changed some song lyrics on the fly to fit some common themes of the day! That was awesome! Jon was super easy to work with, very helpful with suggestions for me, and he has put together a band with amazing quality at a very competitive price compared to other bands we looked at. The value is mind-blowing!! I would definitely recommend Soul City Shakedown to anyone who loves live music that is well-executed, needs a versatile band who can cover a wide range of genres, and acts extremely professionally while having a blast. Amazing band, so easy to work with, one of the best singers we've ever heard. Book them quick - we promise you won't be disappointed. We used Soul City Shakedown and worked with Jon Ardito for our wedding this past April and could not be happier. The majority of our wedding party danced almost the whole night, which we don't see happen too often in our 5-6 weddings we've been going to for the past few years. Would highly suggest booking for any event but they definitely made our wedding a very memorable time.
