The staff was genuinely excited to get to make a 5 tier cake, because they said that many couples do not go with cakes that size any more for weddings. They cake decorator spent a lot of time planning with us to make sure that the cake was exactly what we envisioned, and it turned out even better. Because we live out of town, my parents picked up our tasting box on the way to visit us. During the planning meeting, they gave us another one to make sure we did not change our mind on the flavors because a little time had gone by since we had our initial tasting. Because we were using real flowers (which was their recommendation because the cost of making the number of flowers that I wanted was much more), they worked with the florist to make sure that they timed when to arrive to get the cake set up and place the flowers. They also had a perfect base to set the cake on that we rented from them. The cake was absolutely gorgeous. I actually asked to look at it for a couple of minutes before we cut into it because I didn't want them to take it away! It tasted delicious and we received many complements! Thank you to the staff at Sugaree. We love your bakery and we loved our wedding cake!

for the perfect wedding cake. At first I was a little hesistant because they don't give as many flavor choices for wedding cakes as other bakeries I had visited. But don't let that deter you--their wedding cake flavor selections are SO good that it didn't matter! We ended up choosing two of the flavors for our tiered cake--chocolate with strawberry mousse for the hubs and Florida pound cake with raspberry for me. Oh, I dream about the pound cake! Everyone was raving about both flavors, but especially that pound cake. And when we went for our consultation, Pat was very helpful and patient (since we didn't go in with a very clear idea of what we wanted). After going through many picture ideas for inspiration, I found what I wanted and our cake turned out exactly like I had imagined. It was beautiful. I can't wait until our year anniversary to have that pound cake again! The bakery also offers the most delicious muffins, cookies, pies & other baked goods so check those out too! I also have to say that there was a recent scary incident in the neighborhood at one of our local bars. To help support the shaken up crew, Pat generously provided them with tons of baked goods. I just thought that was so cool and it made me happy & proud to know that Sugaree supported a neighbor in need. So not only was our wedding cake beautiful and SO delicious, but Pat and the rest of the Sugaree crew are great people-- I highly recommend this bakery!

hey were very easy to work with even though I was planning the wedding from out of state. Pat was great and took the time to help me pick the perfect design for my cake when I had no idea what I wanted coming into the shop. My husband and I loved our cake, from the design to the taste, and recommend this bakery to all!

We had a relatively small wedding (about 65 guests), and I never felt like we were less important than a couple with a 300-guest wedding. I will be recommending Sugaree to everyone I can! (On top of the amazing wedding cake, the shop is super cute with tons of delicious treats to choose from!)

s from our guests. I will say that we communicated with the bakery from out of state, and they are not set up to do that well. It worked out well in the end, and they were very flexible with us. But we weren't able to put a deposit down on a date until we met with them in person which made me anxious. They "penciled us in." In the end, our cake was beautiful, delivered on time, and exactly what we asked for.

I made the mistake of waiting a while between the tasting box and actually ordering the cake because I couldn't remember what some of the fillings tasted like. We ended up with vanilla cake with chocolate filling and fudge cake with tiramisu filling. The cake was awesome. We had a three tier, square cake with little dots in our wedding colors and it was beautiful. We had an entire sheet cake left over so I took some to work with me and it was gone in hours. Pat was great to work with and she can make some tasty cake!

Even guests who said they normally don't care for cake raved about this one. The cake was decorated beautifully, as well. Sugaree is a pretty small bakery with limited hours, but if you are looking for a wedding cake vendor in the St. Louis area to make a cake that will be the talk of the reception, you can't go wrong with Sugaree Baking Company. They don't make fondant cakes though (which is one of the main reasons we chose them...no one really likes the taste of fondant). Easy five star review from us!
