The barn is absolutely beautiful and we loved having dinner and drinks there. I can't believe how beautiful the barn is! And Starr recommended a BBQ caterer who was amazing and the food was delicious! We also loved staying at the cabin that night and waking up to a sunrise with the horses. I chose the venue from out of state and had no idea what to expect as I only saw photos online but I was completely blown away by how beautiful the setting was and how helpful Starr and Matt were in every way. They checked in with us through out the wedding day to see how they could help or if there was anything we needed which was so appreciated. And they were so helpful communicating by email before the wedding. I had a lot of questions over email and Starr was always so helpful and responsive. I can't wait to return to Summer Star Ranch, it was incredibly beautiful and the wedding was more than we could ever have asked for. Thank you Starr and Matt for the best day ever!

t to York from Helena is beautiful. We wanted to give our guests the MT views that we fell in love with. The drive is scenic and there is wildlife on the way out to the Ranch. The Ranch property is big. Lots of locations to choose from for your ceremony. As much as I wanted our ceremony outside, Mother Nature had different plans and we moved it into the barn due to rain. Summer Star owners and staff were on top of the weather forecasts and moved quickly to accommodate our wedding schedule. Nothing to stress about. For a Bride to Bride talk: I highly recommend renting out the cabin the night before your wedding and have a sleepover with your bridesmaids! We had a lot of fun and you can actually see the city lights of Helena off in the distance. Not only do you have front row seating to a beautiful sunrise you also can sleep in some before hair and make up arrive :) With everything said and done, we highly recommend Summer Star!

Kabota making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be. The venue itself is beautiful and was the perfect balance of being closely connected to the outdoors without having to worry about weather conditions. We also stayed the night in the sweet cabin on the ranch and it was lovely. The barn is spacious. We were so happy with everything. It is about a 30 minute drive out to the ranch and this was a slight hassle for some of our friends who flew in. I would recommend using the local school district bus service as a shuttle to future brides. This is something Starr and Matt suggested, but we opted not to. Hindsight is 20/20 :)

All of the tables and chairs are on-site, included in the venue fee, and the owners even helped with set up which was an extra perk because it was one less thing to have to take care of on an already busy day. We booked the venue for the entire weekend, which served us well as we held the rehearsal dinner there and set up for the wedding the night before. They have a glamping tent and cabin that the bridal party utilized to get ready in and you can stay in them overnight if you want. They were super accommodating to us with requests and were on sight (not hovering though) and available if we needed anything. The owners went above and beyond to help us meet our vision for the perfect day. They have a large freezer at the venue stocked with tons of ice so you don’t have to worry about hauling a ton of ice up to the venue. They chopped wood for the fire pit and our for guests camping across the road. Highly highly recommend.

Starr and Matt were so helpful every step of the way. They never made us feel like we were an inconvenience (which I’m sure every meticulous bride has felt) when we would ask to come up for a walk around for the THIRD time! They were so patient and accommodating- we loved them!

This has to be the best (or at least one of the best) wedding reception venues in Montana--it's so beautiful in a perfect Montana setting. Our guests came from around the world and had such an amazing time!

We also planned everything from several states away which can of course make things more difficult, but no problems were had. I can't recommend this venue enough. Before we chose this venue we spoke to several other couples who had been married there to see how it went and they all felt the same way we do now. We are even hoping to make Summer Star Ranch a spot we come back to occasionally since the ranch was so off the beaten path and we'd love to stay and get a horse ride in one of these days! hen weave through a beautiful canyon before winding up a hill that leads you to gorgeous mountain a field views. The owners were willing to answer any questions I had and responded to every email within hours. Starr and Matt are seriously the most generous couple. They invited us out to the ranch several times for personal tours of the property so we could nail down all of our questions about decor and logistics prior to the wedding. On the day of the event, they acted as our personal attendants, making themselves available in anyway possible so that the wedding would run smoothly. On example is that Starr checked in on my bridesmaids and me early in the morning and brought us extra coffee. The day before they were with us during set up and rearranged the whole place (tent and ceremony site) to fit our vision. For the wedding itself, they had several people standing guard ready to queue the wedding party for when to go. They also allowed us to basically have the whole ranch to ourselves to do with it how we please for the weekend. We had our rehearsal dinner out there as well and Matt was ready to light the bonfire whenever we wanted. They essentially acted as silent wedding planners catering to our every need and anticipating what we needed before we even had to ask and they were never in the way. As far as the venue itself, it couldn't be more majestic. The panorama views of fields and mountains, the camping available for our guests just walking distance to the ceremony, the glamping tent and cabin for the wedding parties to get ready in, the act that everything was so close to each other- everything was so wonderful. The ranch made for a truly magical and chic Montana wedding. The antler chandelier above the dance floor and Edison lights strung around the inside of the tent complimented our decor perfectly. The rustic wooden picnic tables added a classy touch in lieu of traditional venues' cheap looking tables and chairs which usually require heavy decor to make them look presentable. I can't recommend this place enough! Everything was perfect and the owners made it that much more special. When my new husband and I made our way back to the cabin after the reception, there was a note, a bottle of prosecco and a framed photo of our first kiss waiting for us on the table. If you are looking for the perfect backdrop for your chic Montana wedding the Summer Starr Ranch is for you.

Not only were they extremely helpful and accommodating from the get-go, but I cannot say enough good things about how amazing they were the day of our wedding! We had a sudden weather change - it turned into winter overnight - and Summer Star was quick to assist with the last minute details to make sure that our special day was very special indeed! They went above and beyond, even helping with holding horses before and during the ceremony. The facilities are impeccable as well - complete with fully functioning outhouses for your guests and a lovely cabin and glamping tent to get ready in! Our experience with Summer Star was absolutely wonderful, and we would definitely highly recommend them for your special event!!

Summer Star Ranch is the most amazing venue. It’s gorgeous and perfect for a beautiful wedding. However, what really makes the venue is the spectacular owners and team that run the ranch. Working in the event industry I know that the venue employees can make or break your event. Starr, Matt, Laura, and Kelly were fantastic to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was everything we wanted. Answering numerous questions, helping to problem solve, and allowing us to come to the property on multiple occasions to look at the venue as we went through the planning process. They could not have been more kind, professional, and caring. They truly care about you and they want you to get married at their property and have a fantastic day. It’s so much more than just a business to them. They also give back to our local community and to us that means everything. If you’re lucky enough to happen upon the ranch for your special day - book it. It’s the best wedding decision you’ll make and it’s worth every penny.

Matt and Star are honestly 2 of the nicest, most accommodating, helpful people we have ever been blessed to meet. Matt made our vision of how we wanted our aisle way to look possible. Star was by my side all through the rehearsal and on the big day to make sure I/we had anything and everything we needed. They coordinated our ceremony beautifully - it was absolutely perfect and we couldn't have done it without them. The view was second to none! Could not have been any more perfect for our time together as a family. So glad we were able to do it together at the Summer Star Ranch! ...the rest is history. One hour before the ceremony it started raining, and, of course, we had originally planned an outdoor ceremony. Matt and his team were so amazing! They kept me calm and quickly moved the entire ceremony inside the reception tent which was just as beautiful. Oh, and not to mention my father ended up in the ER the morning of and Matt offered to drive into town and pick him up to ensure he made it to the ceremony and then drive him home after. The team at Summer Star Ranch are absolutely amazing, and are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure you have an absolutely perfect day. We did and we wouldn't change a single thing. Our guests loved everything about the Summer Star Ranch. It truly is where city chic meets the wild west. And if rain on your wedding day is good luck then we are set for life! Thank you all so much for everything you did to give us the most perfect day!

, under the stars (which might I add are breathtaking since there is no light pollution there). On the day of the actual wedding, I was curious to see how they would set it up. Needless to say, they blew me away AGAIN. Everything was planned out down to the tiny details and even though the ceremony took place near the open field, there was still a clever way to keep the bride concealed from the groom, don't want any bad luck of course! It honestly was the type of wedding I dream of having some day.

square dance. There was a fun BBq themed dinner the night before where we danced to a country band. The ceremony was so gorgeous with the amazing Montana backdrop at the ranch and the reception under the tent was unbelievable. It was a weekend we will never forget.
