nd keep things economical; eventually I realized that there was just no possible way to do it all myself (not for me and my sanity anyhow). Then I spent another eternity looking for a wedding coordinator that I could actually afford – I knew that I wanted a beach wedding, and I had already settled on Jekyll Island Beach, I also had my heart set on The Great Dunes Beach Pavilion as the perfect place for my reception. I was actually just googling “Jekyll Island Beach Wedding Photos” and stumbled across “Sun and Sea Beach Weddings” online. They put all of the puzzle pieces together for me. They have a variety of packages available from little baby elopements to a full wedding/reception like I did; but the really great thing is that you can customize anything and everything – so it isn’t just a wedding kit that you walk into, it’s still your wedding, that you planned, and you can make it your own. I started with the “Great Dunes Package” and went from there. Once you pay your deposit and sign your contract you are paired up with a wedding coordinator. I was paired with Josie, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her calm, patient, nature made the process easy, and she significantly reduced my stress level. She always listened to all of my ideas and concerns and offered solutions based on her expertise. She and I did most of our communication via email, that was my preference, but they will work with you however you prefer. When we were working on more detailed portions of the planning process we would schedule phone meeting and talk through everything – I never felt rushed, or like “just another bride”, I always felt like my wedding was as important to Josie as it was to me. I could go on forever – but the point is that I seriously never could have navigated the wedding planning process/or survived the day of without Josie. The package that I selected included some basic catering from Southern Soul, an hour of professional photography, a DJ, and the officiant. I told them that I preferred to work a different caterer, and that was no problem at all, they gave me a credit for the catering, and I handled all of that on my own. You can really do anything like that. For example, I decided to work with one of their photographers, Jeannie Capellan. I knew going in that I wanted a more in depth, complete, photography package than what was included in my contract, again that was no problem at all – it was easy to work with them to customize the photography package to meet my expectations. I upgraded the photo package to be the full event photography, plus an hour before hand. Jeannie was like an angel sent from heaven to help me get through the day. She was so kind and helpful – She went way above and beyond what I would have expected from any photographer, but especially from someone that I had literally never met or spoken to prior to the event. I absolutely cannot wait to see my photos – it’s only been a couple weeks since the big day so she is still working on the edits, I can’t even put into word how excited I am to see what she created. Honestly, everyone that I interacted with from Sun and Sea was incredible. I chose to use their officiant, we are not religious so that selection wasn’t incredibly important to us, he was terrific - he had a really infectiously positive attitude, and my husband and I appreciated that about him more than he will ever know – we were especially nervous about being in front of everyone at the ceremony and he made it so comfortable and joyous for us. In addition, the DJ was perfect – everyone was on their feet dancing and having the best time! At the end of the event the tear-down crew got started as we were still lingering around – they were all pleasant as could be. The entire staff far exceeded my expectations. I also decided to hire a videographer – we had several friends and family members that couldn’t make it, so this was an upgrade that I decided we needed. The videography was an independent contract outside of Sun and Sea. We used Roy with Stanced Media for the videography – he works with Sun and Sea all the time, so it was basically like he was part of the team – I didn’t have to tell him anything or organize anything; Josie, Roy, Jeannie, the DJ, and the officiant were like a group that shared a brain, it made everything so easy for me! I received so many complements from my guest about how beautiful and elegant my wedding was, I even had a few people tell me that out of all the weddings they had ever attended, mine was their favorite! I feel like there is a very slippery slope with beach weddings getting tacky, Josie listened to and understood all of my concerns, and she and I worked really hard to make it perfect! I am a very particular person, and except for the weather I wouldn’t have changed a thing! If you are considering using Sun and Sea Beach Weddings, I highly recommend that you go for it.

mony. Well we had nothing to worry about because Sun and Sea went above and beyond! We had the most beautiful ceremony on Driftwood Beach that we could have asked for and it was all thanks to Steven and his team that helped us create memories that will last us a lifetime. Every step of the way, Steven gave us excellent communication and was patient to answer every single one of our questions. He was clear, concise, and available at all times and let us know what we could and could not do based on our Driftwood location. We appreciated Sun and Sea giving direction and giving us the flexibility to choose options from their set packages to make the experience of picking things out from a distance more manageable. Steven even did a beautiful job officiating our ceremony and always putting us first and his team did an excellent job setting up and taking things down where we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. Even the things you can’t plan for, like the exact location on the beach for our ceremony, ended up being perfect because Steven and his team go out of their way to make the experience as elegant and meaningful as possible. Overall, we had a great experience and we highly recommend using their services. The only feedback we would give is that Sun and Sea provides an excellent backdrop and service, but outside of what you receive from Sun and Sea, you still have to spend the time/money on those personal touches to truly make it your own experience so just keep that in mind.

y. I’m thankful I didn’t have to worry with seating and directing everyone and that my attention was on Christopher and how I was feeling in the moment. I’m thankful for Dan and his patience with us because my husband and I are goofballs on camera and know maybe two ways to pose for pictures lol. It felt like a whirlwind but in a good way because we just did what we were told and didn’t have to make decisions which is extremely nice when you’re taking in the commitment of marriage. We are a young couple who paid for everything and we were able to have a beach wedding, with decor, planning, an officiant and photography for less than $2500. We could not find this pricing anywhere else in ST. Augustine. They make it possible for couples who really want to celebrate this milestone be able to focus on what’s important and make the day memorable for them. our own vision for our wedding. They were so flexible with us choosing our colors, arch, bouquet, location, and literally everything else. They also have so many options to choose from with their designs. When we looked into vendors, everywhere else had one look and no changes could be made to it. So I really appreciated them working with us on our specific vision. Every step of the way in the planning process was seamless. The day of was beautiful! We had a very windy day on the beach and everything was super secure! It is definitely worth every penny to have sun and sea manage your wedding ceremony! I’m a very DIY person and I could have never pulled this off on my own! Reflecting back on our wedding day, I wouldn’t change a thing! Beautiful, stress free, and easy!

My contract stated we had to vacate by 11 and the party had to end by 10 yet before 9:30 with all my guests confused awaiting for cake she started cleaning not allowing me to feed my guests any cake or pass our party favors. Furthermore, we stayed at the house and one of the members of the wedding party almost fell from the 3 floor rooftop due to an unsecured railing. When I notified the personnel, I was told “the railing was not meant to be leaned on”. Overall for a bride This was a terrible experience. Weddings are stressful to plan as it is, the last thing I needed was this type of experience. I have videos to prove EVERYTHING.

nse and get married. Even when Hurricane Nicole decided to show up a few days before, Steven was confident they could still get it done AND THEY DID!! We had an absolutely stunning arch on Driftwood beach that made for a day we will never forget. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

When it became evident our location was no longer an option, the team thought quickly and came up with a back up plan. And when the back up plan needed a backup plan, they were flexible and accommodating- changing designs to fit the now indoor setting but still giving us the beach feel that we so wanted. They even were open and willing to change locations up until an hour before we were scheduled to start. Having sweet Varnia lead the way as our officiant, Dan perfectly matching the feel on his guitar, and Marie as our fun photographer made the day even more magical. In the end, the entire team- Steven, Varnia, Marie, Maddie and Dan- were a true pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Sun and Sea to anyone planning a wedding or vow renewal.

ommotion, Steven remained calm and professional. Buying services from someone you never met, especially wedding services made me nervous. However, I was impressed by the professionalism of Steven (planner), Vania (wedding day coordinator and officiant), Cameryn, and Marie. Everything turned out better than we could have ever expected given the little amount of time and effort it took on my end as a bride. I had expected it to be so much more complicated, but they all made the process very easy and everything was done seamlessly. I have no bad things to say here! If you’re a bride and want to save time and money, or are doing a destination wedding, but want to receive a quality product and outcome, this is for sure the way to go!

oy a five-day celebration. They had a blast! If booking Castlegate, it’s important to know that the beach house is across the street from the beach and is located in a residential neighborhood, so there are constraints on parking, noise, outdoor music, and reception times. We were able to work around these constraints by using the public parking lot, Uber, DJ inside, and ending the reception at 10:00 P.M. The youngsters continued their celebration elsewhere, and we old folks were able to retire early. 😊 Vania and her team were responsive and accommodating and brought our daughter’s dream wedding to fruition. The bouquets, décor and florals were exceptionally gorgeous and exceeding our expectations. Thanks again, Vania and team! We live locally and after several planning meetings over the phone, we had the option to come to the office and meet with Josie to go over our final wedding details. What a fantastic bonus that was. I walked away confident that our wedding was going to be just perfect! Josie and the Sun and Sea team went above and beyond for our wedding! Come wedding day, I was so calm and relaxed knowing that our special day was going to be just flawless and beautiful. When I stepped up on the beach decking and looked out to the beach, I was blown away by how beautiful the ceremony set up was. We had met one of the photographers that work with Sun and Sea and we liked her personality and her work, so I requested her for our wedding. Josie was happy to contact Marie to see if she was available on our wedding day. Josie immediately got back to me to share the great news that Marie was available. Marie was phenomenal and she made sure our wedding day was captured beautifully. We are just overjoyed with how beautiful our wedding pictures turned out. he Courtyard at the Westin. From the start Steven was professional and caring. The flowers were the most beautiful blue & purple orchids anyone had seen! The photographer was hands on supplying Bobby Pins for the flowers in my hair to assisting with safety pins for my bustle! The Sun and Sea team guided us down the aisle as the ceremony was picture perfect! I loved the arbor and the pictures taken on the beach! Sun and Sea made our dreams come true - thank you so much!
