I got married 6/3 on Vilano Beach and would recommend Sun & Sea over and over. In my experience Steven was fantastic and truly brought my vision to life which was documented so clearly by Marie (photography). If you are a bride who truly does not want to lift a finger, Sun and Sea is for you.

From a recent bride...I would not recommend this company to any excited couple looking to plan their wedding. Serious lack of communication which will lead to extreme planning anxiety. Concerns will not be addressed by planners or owner. They will poorly execute what was agreed upon in your contract, then blame the couple for their inability to set up your wedding. There are lots of places in North Florida that can help you plan the wedding of your dreams and I would steer clear of Sun & Sea.

Our day was fantastic from start to finish. Steven worked out all kinks prior to the date & made everything look absolutely breathtaking. We were impressed with the professionalism and how everything flowed together perfectly. Traffic on the island was an issue, so we were a bit late to the beach, but they did not make us feel rushed at all. Our first interactions with Sun and Sea was with Nick- he was so upbeat and responsive, it helped set the tone for the rest of the planning and wedding itself. Steven was our coordinator and did a fantastic job guiding us through the whole planning process. He offered great suggestions and the rationales behind them. Our Officiant- Vicky was endearing and helped keep things on track leading up to and through the ceremony. Zach did a wonderful job setting up for the ceremony- it looked stunning. Wes kept the mood fun and rocking out with the music throughout the wedding. Marie was a lifesaver with the photography and offering tips/pointers to my first time Maid of Honor. And last buy certainly not least- Leidy was our day-of reception coordinator. She did a great job keeping everything on track and making sure things ran smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for a better team- it turned out better than we could have hoped for!

Our planner was Josie. We wanted a simple elopement package and she delivered. We did all communicating on our wedding portal since our schedules don’t line up with normal working people. We were never out of the loop of what was going on and what was expected and when. She had a schedule all laid out for the wedding day which I appreciated. She texted me the morning of my wedding when it was raining for our outdoor destination beach wedding assuring me we could hold off on starting of the rain was going to be stopping. Luckily at the start of the wedding it was barely sprinkling then stopped but she was reassuring that we would make it work one way or another so I wasn’t stressing. Our photographer Marie with Appleseed Photography was AMAZING and our pictures are beautiful. She had them to us digitally with all printing releases in a very timely manner. Our officiant was Derek and he was also AMAZING! Their laid back but very professional personalities made it easy to relax for photos and the ceremony but still professional enough to keep us in line. I’m glad they were the team selected for our big day even though it was a much smaller scale then they are probably use to, but for a Monday afternoon it was small and perfect to us! I appreciate EVERYTHING they all did for us and if there is a vowel renewal someday I would love to work with them again! I HIGHLY recommend this company.

Had the best experience with Josie and the crew. It was a small ceremony with a few friends and family and had zero stress. The entire process from start to finish was exceptional.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about working with Sun & Sea and all of their amazing staff and coordinators! My husband and I chose the Odd Birds package and got married next to the St. Augustine fort and every part of it was beautiful and perfect. When it comes to reviewing all of the people I worked with I have to begin with the star of the entire event our coordinator Steven Romero, otherwise known as the most amazing and kindest person you will ever work with especially since he takes everything you care about and does whatever he can to make it work into your special day. If something can't work he is honest and lets you know of other options that are just as good and sometimes even better than what you originally wanted. He was extremely helpful the whole way and answered my questions the same day every single time, even when he was on vacation he sent me a message helping me out. Next was our fantastic photographer Marie, she set up a time to call before the wedding so we could get some details sorted beforehand and both go into the day knowing what needed to be done. She was great at working with what little sunlight we had to make sure all of the most important photos were taken care of first. She even came with us on our horse carriage ride to take photos with the Christmas lights and we had a great time with her as her personality was just so friendly and welcoming. Connor and Zach, we only got to meet the day of but they helped to make sure everything was set up and that we moved to our positions at just the right moments. Our DJ Shawn was yet another wonderful person we got to work with, he made the music easy and stress-free, listened to all of our requests, and changed anything we needed just by us simply asking. He brought the best energy to the whole reception and kept our guests dancing and having fun all night. He even called before the wedding so we could talk and hammer out any last-minute details and understand the changes we were having to some of the traditional events that we decided to put a spin on. If I were to do everything over again I would still pick Sun and Sea every time, not just because of the amazing packages and services that were provided but also the people that helped to make our day the most perfect day I could have asked for.

Where do I begin, Vicky was amazing from start to finish! They handled everything flawlessly. Great communication, kind professional crew and everything turned out even better than could of imagined. So when I decided to get married in Florida, living states away, I wasn’t sure what I should do. All I knew is we wanted to be married on the beach. My sister (she lives in Florida) found sun and sea. The staff were amazing, and so responsive. Steven Romero was the best! He took care of literally everything for me. The day before our wedding, I contacted him because I was so worried about the rain (it had rained everyday at the time the wedding was suppose to be). On such short notice they allowed me to change my wedding time up five hours! Our planner Steven also officiated our wedding, which was awesome, seems he is who I had with me through my entire journey! He did a beautiful job, and it couldn’t have went any better. Everything was exactly how I dreamed it would be and more. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If you’re thinking of booking, please do it! It’s worth every penny! From the first day we called Nick and his team at Sun and Sea Weddings my fiance (now husband) and I knew we were in excellent hands! Our Coordinator was Vicky and she ensured the preparation process was stress free and that our wedding day was everything the two of us dreamt it would be, SIMPLY PHENOMENAL!

The venue I picked was Anastasia Park but the weather wasn’t letting It happen. They were absolutely amazing in working with me to make sure my special day was perfect and they were so easy to plan with. I would recommend all of my friends to use them if they want a stress free wedding. Josie was a doll to work with.

I can not say enough good things about my experience with “Sun and Sea Beach Weddings”, and specifically my wedding coordinator, Josie Ortiz. I spent literal months trying to figure out how to plan and execute my wedding and reception myself and keep things economical; eventually I realized that there was just no possible way to do it all myself (not for me and my sanity anyhow). Then I spent another eternity looking for a wedding coordinator that I could actually afford – I knew that I wanted a beach wedding, and I had already settled on Jekyll Island Beach, I also had my heart set on The Great Dunes Beach Pavilion as the perfect place for my reception. I was actually just googling “Jekyll Island Beach Wedding Photos” and stumbled across “Sun and Sea Beach Weddings” online. They put all of the puzzle pieces together for me. They have a variety of packages available from little baby elopements to a full wedding/reception like I did; but the really great thing is that you can customize anything and everything – so it isn’t just a wedding kit that you walk into, it’s still your wedding, that you planned, and you can make it your own. I started with the “Great Dunes Package” and went from there. Once you pay your deposit and sign your contract you are paired up with a wedding coordinator. I was paired with Josie, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her calm, patient, nature made the process easy, and she significantly reduced my stress level. She always listened to all of my ideas and concerns and offered solutions based on her expertise. She and I did most of our communication via email, that was my preference, but they will work with you however you prefer. When we were working on more detailed portions of the planning process we would schedule phone meeting and talk through everything – I never felt rushed, or like “just another bride”, I always felt like my wedding was as important to Josie as it was to me. I could go on forever – but the point is that I seriously never could have navigated the wedding planning process/or survived the day of without Josie. The package that I selected included some basic catering from Southern Soul, an hour of professional photography, a DJ, and the officiant. I told them that I preferred to work a different caterer, and that was no problem at all, they gave me a credit for the catering, and I handled all of that on my own. You can really do anything like that. For example, I decided to work with one of their photographers, Jeannie Capellan. I knew going in that I wanted a more in depth, complete, photography package than what was included in my contract, again that was no problem at all – it was easy to work with them to customize the photography package to meet my expectations. I upgraded the photo package to be the full event photography, plus an hour before hand. Jeannie was like an angel sent from heaven to help me get through the day. She was so kind and helpful – She went way above and beyond what I would have expected from any photographer, but especially from someone that I had literally never met or spoken to prior to the event. I absolutely cannot wait to see my photos – it’s only been a couple weeks since the big day so she is still working on the edits, I can’t even put into word how excited I am to see what she created. Honestly, everyone that I interacted with from Sun and Sea was incredible. I chose to use their officiant, we are not religious so that selection wasn’t incredibly important to us, he was terrific - he had a really infectiously positive attitude, and my husband and I appreciated that about him more than he will ever know – we were especially nervous about being in front of everyone at the ceremony and he made it so comfortable and joyous for us. In addition, the DJ was perfect – everyone was on their feet dancing and having the best time! At the end of the event the tear-down crew got started as we were still lingering around – they were all pleasant as could be. The entire staff far exceeded my expectations. I also decided to hire a videographer – we had several friends and family members that couldn’t make it, so this was an upgrade that I decided we needed. The videography was an independent contract outside of Sun and Sea. We used Roy with Stanced Media for the videography – he works with Sun and Sea all the time, so it was basically like he was part of the team – I didn’t have to tell him anything or organize anything; Josie, Roy, Jeannie, the DJ, and the officiant were like a group that shared a brain, it made everything so easy for me! I received so many complements from my guest about how beautiful and elegant my wedding was, I even had a few people tell me that out of all the weddings they had ever attended, mine was their favorite! I feel like there is a very slippery slope with beach weddings getting tacky, Josie listened to and understood all of my concerns, and she and I worked really hard to make it perfect! I am a very particular person, and except for the weather I wouldn’t have changed a thing! If you are considering using Sun and Sea Beach Weddings, I highly recommend that you go for it.

Being an LGBT+ couple, my husband and I, when we decided to do a destination wedding in coastal south Georgia on Jekyll Island, we weren’t sure what to expect in terms of customer service and experience when we knew we needed help with the ceremony. Well we had nothing to worry about because Sun and Sea went above and beyond! We had the most beautiful ceremony on Driftwood Beach that we could have asked for and it was all thanks to Steven and his team that helped us create memories that will last us a lifetime. Every step of the way, Steven gave us excellent communication and was patient to answer every single one of our questions. He was clear, concise, and available at all times and let us know what we could and could not do based on our Driftwood location. We appreciated Sun and Sea giving direction and giving us the flexibility to choose options from their set packages to make the experience of picking things out from a distance more manageable. Steven even did a beautiful job officiating our ceremony and always putting us first and his team did an excellent job setting up and taking things down where we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. Even the things you can’t plan for, like the exact location on the beach for our ceremony, ended up being perfect because Steven and his team go out of their way to make the experience as elegant and meaningful as possible. Overall, we had a great experience and we highly recommend using their services. The only feedback we would give is that Sun and Sea provides an excellent backdrop and service, but outside of what you receive from Sun and Sea, you still have to spend the time/money on those personal touches to truly make it your own experience so just keep that in mind.

Sun and Sea is a personal company with individuals who care about making your marriage a special celebration. We loved our ceremony and the script that was used. Bonya was very kind and worked very hard to make things run smoothly and seamlessly. I’m thankful I didn’t have to worry with seating and directing everyone and that my attention was on Christopher and how I was feeling in the moment. I’m thankful for Dan and his patience with us because my husband and I are goofballs on camera and know maybe two ways to pose for pictures lol. It felt like a whirlwind but in a good way because we just did what we were told and didn’t have to make decisions which is extremely nice when you’re taking in the commitment of marriage. We are a young couple who paid for everything and we were able to have a beach wedding, with decor, planning, an officiant and photography for less than $2500. We could not find this pricing anywhere else in ST. Augustine. They make it possible for couples who really want to celebrate this milestone be able to focus on what’s important and make the day memorable for them. I had such a pleasant experience with Sun and Sea. From my initial booking to the day of my wedding it was always a pleasure to work with them. My ceremony was at Coastal Kitchen and they were incredibly eager to help with some of my more special requests!

My husband and I just used Sun and Sea Beach weddings for our October wedding on the beach the weekend after a hurricane!! They were great with keeping me updated on our location at Vilano Beach. The decorations and bouquet were stunning. The photographer photos were amazing and sent in the timeframe I was given. Everyone that helped before and during the wedding were very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend them for a stress free, perfect wedding!!

Sun and Sea provided us with exceptional service on our wedding day and the months leading up. We worked with Steven and we have nothing but great things to say about him. What we appreciated most with sun and sea was the option to incorporate our own vision for our wedding. They were so flexible with us choosing our colors, arch, bouquet, location, and literally everything else. They also have so many options to choose from with their designs. When we looked into vendors, everywhere else had one look and no changes could be made to it. So I really appreciated them working with us on our specific vision. Every step of the way in the planning process was seamless. The day of was beautiful! We had a very windy day on the beach and everything was super secure! It is definitely worth every penny to have sun and sea manage your wedding ceremony! I’m a very DIY person and I could have never pulled this off on my own! Reflecting back on our wedding day, I wouldn’t change a thing! Beautiful, stress free, and easy!

This is the WORST venue ever. As a bride, I have to tell you that they started cleaning up while my singer was still performing. It was 9:20pm when a woman and gentleman came and started blowing off candles, cleaning up the tables. She was RUDE and ARROGANT telling my guests it was time to leave. My contract stated we had to vacate by 11 and the party had to end by 10 yet before 9:30 with all my guests confused awaiting for cake she started cleaning not allowing me to feed my guests any cake or pass our party favors. Furthermore, we stayed at the house and one of the members of the wedding party almost fell from the 3 floor rooftop due to an unsecured railing. When I notified the personnel, I was told “the railing was not meant to be leaned on”. Overall for a bride This was a terrible experience. Weddings are stressful to plan as it is, the last thing I needed was this type of experience. I have videos to prove EVERYTHING.

If you are looking at Sun and Seas Beach Weddings and wondering if you are about to be scammed, fear not! They are 100% legit and our coordinator Steven made the process super easy. The only thing we had to do was show up with our marriage license and get married. Even when Hurricane Nicole decided to show up a few days before, Steven was confident they could still get it done AND THEY DID!! We had an absolutely stunning arch on Driftwood beach that made for a day we will never forget. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

From the very beginning, the entire team at Sun & Sea was a pleasure to work with. They made the process seem seamless. They were willing to listen and willing to accommodate even the tiniest of requests. Our intention was to do our vow renewal on the beach; however Mother Nature disagreed with our plans and sent us Hurricane Nicole. When it became evident our location was no longer an option, the team thought quickly and came up with a back up plan. And when the back up plan needed a backup plan, they were flexible and accommodating- changing designs to fit the now indoor setting but still giving us the beach feel that we so wanted. They even were open and willing to change locations up until an hour before we were scheduled to start. Having sweet Varnia lead the way as our officiant, Dan perfectly matching the feel on his guitar, and Marie as our fun photographer made the day even more magical. In the end, the entire team- Steven, Varnia, Marie, Maddie and Dan- were a true pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Sun and Sea to anyone planning a wedding or vow renewal.

My husband and I have nothing but compliments about the services we received. We were getting married amidst a hurricane in Ponte Vedra, FL. As we were surrounded by chaos, Steven called to check-in on us and our plans. In sorting through the commotion, Steven remained calm and professional. Buying services from someone you never met, especially wedding services made me nervous. However, I was impressed by the professionalism of Steven (planner), Vania (wedding day coordinator and officiant), Cameryn, and Marie. Everything turned out better than we could have ever expected given the little amount of time and effort it took on my end as a bride. I had expected it to be so much more complicated, but they all made the process very easy and everything was done seamlessly. I have no bad things to say here! If you’re a bride and want to save time and money, or are doing a destination wedding, but want to receive a quality product and outcome, this is for sure the way to go!

We would like to thank Sun and Sea for making our daughter’s wedding a most memorable occasion. We booked the Castlegate (Vilano Beach, St. Augustine, FL) wedding package so the couple’s wedding party could stay with them right on site and enjoy a five-day celebration. They had a blast! If booking Castlegate, it’s important to know that the beach house is across the street from the beach and is located in a residential neighborhood, so there are constraints on parking, noise, outdoor music, and reception times. We were able to work around these constraints by using the public parking lot, Uber, DJ inside, and ending the reception at 10:00 P.M. The youngsters continued their celebration elsewhere, and we old folks were able to retire early. 😊 Vania and her team were responsive and accommodating and brought our daughter’s dream wedding to fruition. The bouquets, décor and florals were exceptionally gorgeous and exceeding our expectations. Thanks again, Vania and team! We planned our wedding on Jekyll Island from Ohio. It was held outside in the Courtyard at the Westin. From the start Steven was professional and caring. The flowers were the most beautiful blue & purple orchids anyone had seen! The photographer was hands on supplying Bobby Pins for the flowers in my hair to assisting with safety pins for my bustle! The Sun and Sea team guided us down the aisle as the ceremony was picture perfect! I loved the arbor and the pictures taken on the beach! Sun and Sea made our dreams come true - thank you so much!

AMAZING experience with Sun and Sea Beach Weddings… highly recommend! We weren’t sure about what we actually wanted to do about a ceremony…didn’t want a huge wedding, and didn’t want to deal with cutting family/friends from the guest list. So when we found the Sun and Sea elopement package, we were thrilled. Josie was our wedding planner and my hero! I live out of state, and Vicky, my wedding planner, made the entire process so easy and stress-free to plan and organize from a far. She is extremely detail-oriented, personable, and truly an expert in what she does. On the weekend of my wedding and wedding day, we were able to show up and just relax knowing everything was taken care of and in good hands with Vicky. Every detail of my wedding was actually by far better than I had even envisioned. On my wedding day, there was a patch of heavy rain expected to come through at my ceremony time, and Vicky was on top of this early, monitored the situation, and had a backup plan in place that only delayed us slightly but did not take away from the courtyard wedding experience we envisioned. It actually turned out better under the lanai, because of the small size of our wedding, and it amplified the sound of the violin. All of my family and friends also had nothing but great things to say about Vicky, the venue, and the overall experience. Sun and Sea truly makes dreams come true! I cannot thank them enough for the work that they put in to make this a day I will treasure forever.

There are so many things I would like to say about Sun and Sea Weddings. They were absolutely amazing. I worked closely with Steven, and he was on top of everything from start to finish. I live in Colorado and was anxious about finding someone I could trust to plan our elopement to Florida. The sign-up process was very detailed and provided me with all the options I didn't even know existed. And they got back to me right away to help start planning our elopement. We chose the River to Sea Preserve location in St. Augustine, FL, and I couldn't be happier. Everything went off without a hitch. From the very start, Steven was on top of communication with me. I was unable to have many phone conversations due to the nature of my job, but that did not hinder or hold up any of the wedding planning. Steven provided me with all the information I needed to make the day exactly as I imagined it would be. They even were able to accommodate my personal choice for a wedding bouquet. The flouriest simple just asked for a picture and provided an estimate. On the day of the wedding, everything was set up in advance with plenty of time for us to arrive. Naturally, we were running a little bit late, (my dad took a wrong turn on the way) but that did not phase them in the slightest. I was in constant communication with the staff who were waiting for me at the beach to arrive, guided us through the timing of when to walk down the aisle, and even were so helpful with moving the decorations up the beach multiple times due to the rising tide. The photographer was amazing and she did such a wonderful job. We opted to do a second location for pictures at the Washington Oaks Gardens, and I am so glad we did. It was absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with it the second we arrived. I can't wait to get our pictures! I highly recommend Sun and Sea Weddings to anyone who is looking for a destination wedding. There was no stress involved with the planning process whatsoever.

Vania has been easy to talk to and always replies quickly to any questions or concerns that we may have had. On our wedding day she was so patient and understanding! Everything was set up beautifully and so well thought out. The decorations and set up was everything that we expected/wanted and then more :). Our photographer, Ben was amazing and the photos came fast and were beautiful. He was able to get all the photos before the rain caught us. Although the day went by super fast it was well worth it to have Sun and Sea Beach Weddings to be there for us, making our dreams come true.

Steven, our wedding planner, helped us throughout the entire process, and I cannot express how easy he made everything. Every little detail was gone over and double checked to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted it. Plus, Steven was very transparent and honest with us throughout the entire process, and to me that is something special. Jeannie was our photographer, and not to sound like a broken record here but we couldn’t have asked for more. She made everything feel very natural, and our photo session yielded great results. She even let us go into the water for pictures which was a big item on our wishlist. She handled the difficulties of being on a windy beach with absolutely no issues. Shawn and Zack set up our decor and chairs, and it looked wonderful. It was set up in no time, taken down in no time, and they were there the entire time in case anything needed their attention. Planning a destination wedding can be both exciting and stressful at the same time. I was very grateful to find Sun and Sea Beach Weddings. Vania was our coordinator and she was great. Vania and her team went over and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. My guests were also amazed with the set up for the ceremony and the reception. Every staff member we dealt with for the entirety of booking our wedding till the day of and beyond have been awesome. Josie was supremely helpful with every question and concern we had throughout the whole planning phase. The day of was super windy and my veil kept coming loose, she did her best to reattach it but once I started walking towards the arbor the wind snatched it. Our day was absolutely beautiful and more than we could have dreamed. We were super thankful we found a company that provided us a gorgeous beach wedding without breaking the bank. We would highly recommend this company.

I strongly suggest staying away from this company. There were multiple problems the day of our wedding from this company, but the ultimate slap in the face was the complete lack of care. Even after the officiant showed up an hour late, the photographer demanded extra payment on the beach and refused to take our wedding photos, Josie (the wedding coordinator we had never met) not having the music for our ceremony, and having to find and hire our own officiant literally minutes before our ceremony, the owner, Nick, told us our attitudes ruined the day, not his company. For a business that promises perfection and claims to be in the wedding business, they treated our wedding as if it didn’t matter. STAY AWAY

I found the design of my dreams and was fortunate to be given Steven as my planner. He took such pride in the design of our wedding.
