As someone who has been photographing weddings for more than 15 years, my interest in photography has grown from simply making pretty pictures -to- creating the most wonderful and powerful moments for kind and loving people, all the while capturing those permanent memories. If I could give more stars, I would! Ellie is the most amazing photographer and l am so glad we were able to work with her!
My husband and I were set to get married early 2024 in Santa Barbara. We had all of our vendors set a year prior and, unfortunately for us, our wedding was cancelled by our venue due to severe weather conditions THE NIGHT BEFORE. While most of our vendors were sympathetic and offered us a refund, our original photographer was not so accommodating. We decided to part ways and eat the cost that the original photographer charged us. Then began the scrambling to find a new photographer on short notice for our new wedding date. In came Ellie! She was so sweet and empathetic. She offered to help us out, knowing that we could not fully afford her services. We met Ellie for an engagement photo session in Washington and they came out AMAZING! My husband and I were pretty awkward in front of the camera, but she made us feel so comfortable. She was able to give us cues to help us capture exactly what we wanted. Her light and airy photography style was exactly what we were looking for and she was able to capture not only the beautiful scenery, but our love for each other as well.
During the time between the engagement shoot and the wedding, she was always in contact with us regarding timelines and helping me plan how the day would run. Her attention to detail and experience made the day run smoothly and right on time. Wedding days are super stressful, but Ellie is so engaging and warm that she made us feel at ease and the photos far exceeded our expectations. She was able to capture the sweet moments we had interacting with our family/friends.
Her photography skills are amazing and she left us with memories that we will cherish forever. She puts so much love into her work and it really shows with her interactions and the work she shares.
She is not only a great photographer, but a great person as well. She is so kind and cheerful and we are so grateful to have met her. We plan to reach out to her to capture every milestone in our lives.

Ellie and her team provide the entire package from capturing the most incredible photos to providing all the support and comfort for a successful wedding day. They go above and beyond to ensure all sessions run smoothly, make sure your vision/ ideas come to life, and provide professional suggestions to ensure the best outcome possible. We could not have imagined a better team to capture our wedding day and engagement pictures. Not only are my pictures incredible, I also got to become friends with Ellie and her incredible team. Sun and sparrow also shot my sisters wedding and from that incredible experience I knew they had to be a part of my big day! Looking forward to booking with them for future life events!

Elle and her team were a godsend for capturing our magical wedding day. This was a destination wedding in Mexico. They flew out and helped coordinate the entire photoshoot schedule. They were our photographers for our grandparents vow our rehearsal dinner fiesta party on a rooftop and our wedding day ! I couldn’t have been more thankful for the creativity, organization, and calming presence! We have the most epic wedding photos because of Elle and her team! She has now become a friend and we will be doing more work together in the future !

We absolutely loved having Ellie as our wedding photographer! She shot our engagement and wedding photos in the summers of 2022 and 2023 in Santa Barbara and Pasadena, CA. Her secondary shooter, Julie, was part of the team on the wedding day and we absolutely loved her too!
- Professional: Ellie was attentive to our needs and gave us plenty of prep ahead of our shoots. She was early at both locations to scout out the best spots for our photos. It was also quite hot on our wedding day and she gave us plenty of time to take breaks while keeping us on track — she did so well that we were actually ahead of schedule!
- Photos: Ellie’s skills and care are so evident in the photos she takes. As two introverts who don’t have our photos taken very often, she offered relatable cues to get the perfect shot every time! Her editing and ability to frame a shot is outstanding. For context, we got married in a Japanese garden and she was able to capture the essence of the garden and us.
- Vibe: Ellie cultivated feelings of safety and peace for both our engagement and wedding photos. From the moment we first had our consultation call, she was able to tap into our love for each other and we were sold! She’s non-judgmental where we were able to be our goofy selves and she was able to perfectly capture the warmth, joy, and excitement that we have for this next chapter in our lives.
Overall, we adored Ellie and Julie and would 100% recommend her and her team for any major life events you want to be captured.

First off, Sun and Sparrow’s level of professionalism was outstanding. They were punctual, organized, and attentive to our needs and preferences. They took the time to understand our vision for the wedding and made sure to capture every important moment and detail. The composition, lighting, and overall quality of the images were absolutely stunning. They have a keen eye for capturing candid moments!! One of the most important parts of taking wedding photos is to feel comfortable. Their friendly and approachable nature made us feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire day!!!

My husband and I are absolutely blown away by Ellie and her photography. Ellie is an artist. She was able to capture engagement and wedding moments that we will treasure forever. We came across Sun and Sparrow’s work thanks to the brochure of recommended photographers from our wedding chapel, and after a quick look to their instagram, it was love at first sight with their work!
It was truly magic that they were available on our wedding day, since we only had 3 months to plan our wedding, and I was doing most of the planning from my country (Mexico). Ellie was super attentive and organized! She scheduled a consultation with me over the phone so we could discuss on my vision, budget, questions, etc, etc. But her attentiveness didn’t stop there! A couple weeks before my wedding, I was feeling very nervous that we wouldn’t have enough time to take all the pictures that I wanted, so Ellie and I organized a coffee date where she really went out of her way and served as a photographer, wedding planner and a friend! I will forever be thankful ❤️
It was amazing seeing Ellie doing her job during the ceremony and reception, she was moving chairs out of her way, directing people, changing cameras! She was doing it all and she was amazing at it.
I even remember she helped with my hair when my headpiece was acting out, she handed me bobby pins that she had in an emergency kit, phew she was prepared 🤩.
I wouldn’t think twice about booking with her again and recommended her to family and friends, she is a great person to work with and just a great human being in general.
