the wedding was more than just one event - it was a magical celebration that lasted for days. Chelly and the Sunset Beach Resort staff could not have been more helpful, attentive or responsive and all the units are beautiful and very well maintained. Thank you for your magnificent resort and the important part Sunset Beach Resort played in a wedding week that could not have been more perfect!

primary disappointment was how the rental owners treated the entire wedding party. The company advertises a private house, parking lot, and beach for the use of the renters during their stay. However, this apparently doesn’t include their family members. We found people using the yard to sunbathe—despite the fact there was miles of beach they could use. So two different members of the party staying in the house approached the girls and asked them to leave as the house was being rented for an event. The girls immediate response was, “grand-daddy owns the house and property, therefore it was ok.” We persisted in asking them to leave as the wedding party had paid thousands of dollars to rent the house and yard and beach for a several day stay and didn’t want strangers wandering through or using the facilities. The girls persisted in saying they wouldn’t leave because their family owned the house and turned extremely nasty about it. We gave up trying to get them to leave as they were obviously trying to push buttons and prove they were “special” since their “grand-daddy owned the place.” As soon as we left the girls, the one immediately got on her cell phone presumably calling her daddy—this was soon proven as we got a nasty call from the owner of the place saying we weren’t allowed to kick people off the property, especially as these girls were his kids. Perhaps I’ve missed all the rental etiquette out there that says you have people pay thousands of dollars for a private house, yard, and beach but that there is an exception that family members get a pass for trespassing during that time. Not only this but then we found family members using the private parking lot so they could get easier beach access and also turned snotty to us when we asked them to park elsewhere since the facility was still in use by a private party. I’ve been renting from dozens of different people and companies for over 20+ years and I have NEVER had to deal with such self centered people (and I was just a guest, I can’t imagine what the bride and groom had to deal with) who put their own comfort above their guests. In addition, we found roaches, mice, and termites in several different parts of the house—I was going to give this a pass since it is Florida and pests are much more common down here. But after having to deal with strangers wandering around the house and property during our multi-day stay, getting a nasty call from the owners about his “daddy’s girls,” the pests were just one more thing to have to deal with. I wouldn’t suggest anyone rent from SBR—the beautiful beach isn’t worth dealing with poor customer service. If you’re going to spend that much money on a memorable event like a wedding, I would suggest giving it to people who give a damn about your comfort and not their families first.

Some of our wedding party stayed off-site, but immediately regretted it when they walked in to Sunset Beach Resort. The wedding day: Our ceremony was on the private beach. It can get pretty windy, but not on 11.5.2016. The weather and SUNSET could not have been more perfect! We had the reception on the common ground in the center of the units and it was perfect! I recommend putting up your own lighting (we used 5 boxes of cafe bulbs from Costco and 10 strands of twinkle lights) The evening was magical. I heard from multiple guests that our wedding was like a fairy tale... right out of the movies!! :) Thank you Sunset Beach Resort!! Kim & Kyle

Chelly was very easy to work with and I cannot recommend her and Sunset Beach resort enough. People said our wedding looked like it was out of a movie. Can't wait to go back for an anniversary trip!

n agreement at having it at Sunset Beach Resort. It was everything we could have imagined and more! Our family and friends had such a wonderful time just hanging out the days before the event enjoying the amazing beach, paddle boarding and kayaking and hitting some of the quaint restaurants and bars in the village area the nights before and after the wedding. Everything is so close that we never had to get in our cars once we had arrived. What we heard about Siesta Key doesn't even come close to actually being there. I can't wait to see our wedding pics with the most beautiful sunset in the back ground! We will be back for our anniversary next year for sure!!

r your vision is for your wedding, this is it! The location alone is phenomenal, with being able to provide a beach wedding and then your reception in such close proximity to the ceremony. It truly was a magical place! One note, you have to rent the surrounding vacation rental houses (total of 4 with varying bedroom amounts) for a certain number of nights to use the place for your wedding venue. This was not a problem for me because it allowed family and friends to stay on site with me for a few days before the wedding since it was destination wedding. There is also a place to book hotel blocks right across the street. Honestly, this is an incredible wedding venue. Everyone at my wedding complimented on the venue and how truly unique it was. Don't think about it, just book it, especially if you are a destination bride. You are not going to find anything better in the area!!

We rented tents for the back yard and were able to have 150 guests for the celebration following our ceremony on the beach. It worked out perfect to be able to host a brunch the next day on the beach and a BBQ two nights before the wedding. The venue has plenty of beach chairs, tables, chairs and grills to be able to enjoy the outdoor amenities. We loved everything about the venue. Side note: We encountered a few unexpected things prior to the wedding. They resort charges a 5% fee to pay with a credit card which we were not told in the beginning. Also, there is a cleaning fee for each unit which we did not know up front.

We wanted that small intimate feel but also have all the modern comforts, and this resort, by far, accomplishes that and more! believe that we had found both! Our ceremony on the beach during sunset was breathtaking. I don't think that there was a dry eye in the whole group. The property was pristine and the owners, a family that actually grew up in the home, were unbelievable. Chelly, especially, was so helpful with finding vendors that we could count on. She had dealt with the best, most respected ones for years so we felt so comfortable turning to her for advice on many that we chose. The property can sleep over 35 guests, so we had our entire family and wedding party stay with us. It was so perfect to have everyone stay the week with us to celebrate! We have made such amazing memories and will continue to visit Siesta Key and the family at Sunset Beach Resort, every year!

It was the only place that I found that could accommodate my whole family on one property to stay the week, have my wedding on the beach directly steps from the home and a beautiful reception in the yard adjacent to the home. When I say home, I mean estate! There is a huge, beautiful beach home that is now an unbelievable rental property. It accommodated 36 of my family and friends to stay on the property and the perfect location on Siesta Key was great for finding additional accommodations for out of town guests. Now that my dream has come true on my wedding day, I can't wait to book for next year to have my dream Anniversary Trip! Thank you Sunset Beach Resort!

we just knew this was the place to celebrate our wedding and love for each other with our family and friends! This is 100 year old estate that has been so tastefully remodeled and is owned and run by the original family that actually grew up here. The property accommodated us so comfortably with views of the most beautiful beach and sunsets I've ever seen! Our beach ceremony photos look like we're standing in front of a fake backdrop, because it's hard to believe the colors of the sunset sky! The beautiful grounds were so perfect for our reception! Large enough to accommodate us all, but still felt so intimate. The beach is your backdrop with the gulf breezes and the sounds of the tides. The owners were so friendly and helpful with anything at all that we needed, and took such pride in their resort! I could go on and on, but there's no place that would have made our dreams come true like this piece of heaven!! I have highly recommend Sunset Beach Resort to everyone that I know that hasn't been before! Thanks again for everything! Dave

My family and guests all had such a great time and can't thank the owners enough for being available for anything we needed during our stay. The property was so well maintained and the units were decorated in such great colors and beach cottage taste! It was exactly what we were looking for; right on beautiful siesta key, sunset right in front of us was, a one-stop shop for our ceremony and reception, and all of our favorite people staying in one place!!! It is beyond words for beauty and amazement and Our family and friends all staying together in one place was incredible. We now have so many memories to share with each other, and it was truly and experience we are so glad we had with all of them. Chelly and Bill were always there at the drop of a hat if we needed anything, and answered any and all questions we had before we arrived. Inside the units were spotlessly clean, and the property itself was beautifully maintained and managed. We had fires every night, swam in the ocean and the pool, and even took out the kayaks and paddleboards during the day! The location of the beach house could not have been more perfect. Aside from the most beautiful beach being a few steps away, it was also perfect for us to have other hotels close by for the remainder of our guests traveling down ( we had 90 guests!!) and the main Siesta Key Village just a few walking blocks away too. As a bride, anything that relieves your stress is a win- for me, Chelly was always there to help when I needed her with referrals or logistical questions and even after our wedding they took care of any extras we had left behind. I loved being able to wake up the morning of my wedding, looking outside at the beautiful beach, taking it all in and not have to go anywhere to get ready! Our wedding day ran smoothly from start to finish, and all of our guests kept saying it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they had been too, and how this venue was absolutely perfect! The fact that it is family owned and run gave us the exact feel we were looking for on our wedding day and our vacation together. Our whole time there was relaxed, easy going, fun, breathtakingly beautiful and lots of love and positive energy around! We loved staying at the beach house and so did all of our guests!! Everyone said our wedding was by far the best they had ever been too, and without our stay here, it would not have been the same!! Truly and amazing experience and we are all planning to stay here again next year! Pictures of the perfect lit up night (cafe lights hung) in the grass and dance floor and of the palatial white beach house in the background.

s for a week for our 11/9/14 wedding. I don't even know where to start - I can't say enough good things about this place...but I will try. First –the units. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice. Each unit is well kept and decorated in a light, airy, "beach chic" style. The 4br/2ba house (pool house) is a single story and is right next to the pool. It has a game room - perfect for my husband’s older parents and his 3 young nephews. The 3br/2ba houses (beach houses) are literally oceanfront. Less than 20 steps off the property and your toes are in the sand. These units are in beautiful condition, but are in an older home than the pool house, so the rooms are a bit smaller. All these houses have laundry in the unit. The 2 1br/1ba units are cute and cozy – they are set up to sleep 4 each, but I’d say 2-3 would definitely be more comfortable. The upstairs unit (hubby and I stayed there) has an ocean few from the kitchen and a small outside patio with a table. The lower unit has no ocean few, but has a large patio/backyard (perfect for my sister, her husband, and their 1 year old). Second – the property. The setup for a wedding and reception is outstanding. Being beachfront, it’s perfect for a ceremony on the sand, and a large lawn for the reception. We had approximately 100 guests, and the lawn easily fit a 30x50 tent (for dining tables), the buffet, a 12x12 dance floor, the DJ (there is power around the property, which makes for very easy set up), the bar, and a fire pit area (there is a permanent fire pit on the property...we weren't originally going to use it, but the weather was a tiny bit cooler than we were expecting and it was a huge hit). The lawn is also framed by many trees – palms and mangroves and sea grapes – and the owners have strung lights from some of the trees, which create a nice ambiance. We had DJ music going until 10pm, and about 15 guests playing acoustic guitar and singing around the fire pit until past 2am, and didn’t have any issues with noise complaints. The pool has a removable fence around it, which we removed for the wedding. Third – the location. Guests LOVED this. The Tropical Breeze Resort (clean, mostly updated, reasonably priced, a little kitschy, service was hit or miss, but it worked beautifully) is literally across the street. Siesta Key Village is a short stroll up the street. Our guests (all from out of town) loved how they could get there and not have to drive to anything. Fourth – the owners. Very accommodating and flexible. One of them meets you on the property and shows you around (we met with Bill), and they are available for any questions via email or phone. The property has been in their family for generations, and they treat it as such. That said, they do come around to the property to do various things – they’re certainly not in your business, but you will see them popping around every so often. Cody, the maintenance guy, is also on the property a fair amount (takes a lot of work to keep it looking great!) and he’s quiet but friendly. He actually did a lot of the remodeling work in the units, so he is pretty talented. Running out of characters, but in short, if you have your wedding here, you will not regret it!

ave all our family stay in all the different units and everyone could be together, right where we were getting married and having the reception. It couldn't possibly be any more of a perfect set up. We were married right on the beach, steps from the home we stayed in, then had the reception, followed by a bonfire on the lawn. It couldn't have been a better day! The location is also perfect-just 2 blocks from Siesta Village, with lots of restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Even though you're close to the village, the location is so quiet and cozy, with just the sound of the waves hitting the beach. We couldn't have found a better place for our wedding day, and will be yearly visitors to Sunset Beach Resort!

as the perfect backdrop for my wedding pictures as my bridesmaids and I were getting ready. The ceremony took place outside under the seagrape trees and the ceremony on the lawn. The perfect location for the cocktail hour is in front of the main house overlooking the water. The owners were a breeze to work with and very accommodating. Chelly provided us with all the information we could need and she's so friendly. Overall I was completely satisfied with Sunset Beach Resort for my wedding.

iesta Key is close to everything and offers local amenities for guests that are very hard to find. In planning our wedding, Chelly was very helpful. She let us walk the grounds as much as we needed to plan our beautiful day. Along with beautiful, newly renovated houses to stay at, there is a fire pit, hammocks, kayaks and paddle boards for rent, a pool and beach front to the ocean with the most beautiful sunset. Our photos taken on the resort came out amazing, I feel so lucky to have been blessed with this resort for my wedding day. The cost of renting this place is much cheaper than renting an establishment for a day that does not include costs of having your wedding. We made our wedding a little mini stay-cation. The resort family and owned and operated,very clean and well maintained. Chelly, who is the main contact for the resort made our lives much easier because she was involved as much and as little as we needed. She has many contacts that help if need be as far as flowers, cakes, organizers, photographers that are locally appreciated in our community. I would recommend this place to anyone because every bride deserves to have as special day as I did. In addition to our wedding day, my husband and I feel that we made a family of friends that truly cared about the entire process of our wedding.

d. Siesta Village is in walking distance with great restaurants, bars, shopping and activities for everyone. The resort is right on the beach, you can't neat the amazing views/ pictures you will get. Chelly was extremely easy to work with, we were able to bring in our own vendors, alcohol, food, decorations, everything.

As the mother-of-the-bride and wedding planner, I walked the sandy road from Access 5 to Access 3 looking for any property where we could legally use the white, sandy beach for the perfect beach wedding, my daughter's dream. An area motel owner suggested Sunset Beach Resort. Everything came together perfectly! Chelly Serrano, owner/manager of Sunset Beach Resort, provided excellent advise and support for our wedding. The roomy and well-appointed, two-story rented house was ideal for the bride and her bridesmaids to stay together and get ready before the wedding... plus so convenient for the bride and groom on their wedding night. The pool house provided ample room and privacy for the groom's large family. After the ceremony on the beach, our 200 guests had plenty of room in the treed area next to the beach and adjacent to the houses for drinks, food and dancing. Our vendors brought in all of the tables, chairs, flowers and decor, food, music and lighting to create just the right ambiance for our daughter's perfect wedding. The ceremony was on the beach right in front of the property at 3:30p. The celebration and FUN lasted until 11:00p. Wedding photos on the beach and inside and around the impressive white house captured how special the day was. It was the PERFECT location for my daughter's dream wedding and I can't say enough about how easy it was to work with Chelly! It is a very popular location for weddings, so book early!!

We were amazed with the views and the quality inside and out. The owners were so easy to work with and the prices were affordable. Everyone keeps talking about the wedding and sunset beach resort homes and all our guests want to go back there again. My husband and I have decided to make it a yearly tradition we loved it so much. Can't say enough good things about the venue it truly helped make our day special and unique.

They also sent recommendations to my wife for preferred vendors which was helpful as we lived out of state. The location is as perfect! Beach front, literally sand is steps from the door! And there are so many amenities on the property and the village of Siesta Key is within walking distance which was convenient for dinners. Overall, I cannot say enough great things about this place and I can definitely tell you that we have already discussed with our friends and family that came to the wedding a trip back to stay here because of the awesome value for what you get! Most places cost $5000-$10000 just for a venue!

It rained the whole weekend but we had a blast and would recommend this property to anyone for a wedding or even just a great family vacation! Lots of sleeping room, pool, steps to the beach, game room, walking distance to Siesta key village, and lots of room to set up for a reception in the yard!
