They really listened to what we wanted. We didn’t want anything too flashy, just something simple, sweet, and us. They helped us build a dance that felt natural and fit our song perfectly. The lessons were fun, even when we messed up (which happened a lot at first), and we always left laughing and feeling more confident.

My fiancé and I went to Sunset Dance Studio to learn a first dance for our wedding. While the studio seems well-suited for traditional ballroom dancing, we were hoping for somethin...
g more modern and reflective of our style.
Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t a positive one. The instructor didn’t seem prepared for either our first or second class—forgetting the song we had chosen and repeatedly defaulting to ballroom-style moves, which wasn’t what we were looking for. At one point, the instructor even said, “I don’t think anyone in this room, including myself, knows what to do,” which was definitely not reassuring.
To make matters worse, the second class—which lasted only 15 minutes—cost us $120. The instructor mentioned we could apply that toward a 5-class package, but we weren’t convinced, so it ended up being $120 for 15 minutes. Not great.
Overall, the experience felt uncomfortable, awkward, and a bit cringey. If you're looking for a first dance that’s non-ballroom, more modern, or tailored to your preferences, this may not be the place for you.

d we chose a particularly difficult style of dance to learn but Michael was so patient with us and really got us to learn the steps! in lots of aspects. He himself is a fantastic dancer, and he knows how to teach! I was a complete beginner and danced like a robot at the beginning, but Michael was extremely patient, letting me know how to improve step by step. After three weeks' classes, my mom and friends were surprised how I danced so well at my wedding. I am also grateful that Adrienne and Michael worked around our tight schedule, so that we were able to learn and try to make our "first dance" perfect within three weeks.
