My now husband and I have used Sur La Lune several times - for a couples shoot several years ago, an engagement shoot, and for our wedding in May of 2024. Each time we get photos back we are absolutely blown away, and we haven't even seen the full set of photos from the wedding yet (just a preview set so far). On top of being a talented photographer Carrie is kind, friendly, easy to work with, and an incredible communicator. Based just on the preview set of photos from the wedding, she and her husband/partner did an incredible job capturing the vibe of our Kentucky Derby wedding.

We chose Carrie to shoot at our wedding because we liked their style of candid documentation photography and she put us at ease in early conversations both in working with a photographer for the first time, but also in having an unknown person come to our non-traditional wedding in rural Tennessee. We also traveled up to Bowling Green for an engagement shoot and were so glad we did. Despite our awkwardness and unfamiliarity in front of a camera, Carrie guided us through and came out with amazing photos. The day of the event was fantastic to know Carrie and Ganer were there to capture the day and let us focus on the event and our guests. So excited to see the outcome and relive the day through their photos.

WOW. Carrie was the absolute best! So prepared and professional but super fun and the absolute sweetest person. She was keeping us hyped up and confident while getting pictures. So patient while we got all our family pictures and captured all the magical moments. Not to mention so talented!!!

We loved having Carrie (& Ganer!) photograph our wedding in September. Since we’re based in Chicago, I found Sur La Lune during my research for vendors for our destination wedding in Louisville. I immediately was struck with her commitment to positive and inclusive values that resonated with us. It was important to me to have a vendor that aligned with those values. While we weren’t able to do an engagement shoot given that we were in Chicago, I really enjoyed meeting Carrie virtually and her personality definitely came through. She sent us a full Q&A that covered a lot of our vision for the big day, important people/places/things to photograph, and tips from other brides. We really wanted to be able to enjoy our big day without feeling like we had to constantly be posing for pictures. We wanted to be efficient with those short blocks we did have for posing so we could truly enjoy the time with our guests who’d traveled down for the wedding. Carrie & Ganer were both super efficient with those times – splitting up between locations and blending in seamlessly as the day progressed. I actually ended up being grateful for a lot of those posing sessions and low key wished I actually had more time for posing in between our ceremony and reception. But, alas, I was too busy having the time of my life! We also used Carrie to make an album of our photos and it looks amazing so far. I cannot wait to have it for our anniversary - you can really see the life between each shot and feel the emotions of the day. I can’t stop smiling even just looking at the album proof!

Carrie and Ganer were the most amazing people and photographers we could’ve ever asked for to have on our wedding day. Every photo from our big day was absolutely stunning and captured every special moment. I couldn’t have imagined having anyone else!

We hired Carrie and Ganer through a mutual friend and it was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. From the initial conversation it was clear that Carrie was very invested in getting to know us as a couple and hear our story. In the weeks leading up to the wedding she provided us with a thorough packet of information about what to expect and really helped us hammer out a realistic timeline. Day of the wedding, her and Ganer were ABSOLUTE gems and felt like our lighthouses amidst a crazy (but fun) storm. My husband and I could not have hired better wedding photographers! Carrie and Ganer were thoughtful, phenomenal, and incredibly experienced, and we’re astounded at how well they captured our love for each other in every one of our wedding pictures. They were fun, but professional, and they took care of even the smallest details — even down to bringing hand warmers for us since our wedding day turned out so cold! There surely cannot be a better set of photographers in Bowling Green than Sur La Lune, and I would highly recommend them to any soon-to-be married couple.

Carrie was an absolute blast to work with. She is so professional, creative, and talented. When the second photographer in our contract had a scheduling conflict, she hired one of the other fantastic photographers in our area (Loren Gifford, IG: lorengifford_photography) as her second for the day. We could not have been more thrilled to work with both Carrie and Loren. Carrie walked us through the whole process with great prep documents filled with all sorts of helpful information. She thought of everything and made sure we didn't forget anything on our big day. She also worked super well with our complex family dynamics, allowing space for a variety of portrait groupings. Our posed photos are gorgeous, but it's the candids - the reception, the hanging out photos where folks were caught off guard - where the real magic happens. We have so many amazing photos to choose from to share with friends and family and display in our home. I don't even know where we'll begin. We cannot recommend Sur La Lune Photography enough! An absolute gem of a human and a very talented photographer. Carrie made us feel comfortable immediately, but more importantly she was really great at direction. For a couple that typically like being behind the scenes, Carrie made us feel like we were made for the camera. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience for our elopement. After our wedding, Carrie was quick to get our photos back and she took so many that we absolutely love! How do you pick just a few?!?! I recommend Sur La Lune for anyone who would like all the feels when you look at your pictures.

My husband and I recently got married on May 13th and we couldn’t have chosen a better photographer than Sur La Lune!! They photographed our friends’ wedding and they highly recommended them because they loved how Sur La Lune was able to capture every moment, but also enjoyed working with Carrie and her husband Ganer. We decided to go with Sur La Lune as well for our engagement and wedding photos, and they did an AMAZING job!! Carrie is such a great person to work with and made the whole process super easy. When we did our engagement photos, she made it super fun and enjoyable to where we didn’t feel awkward at all. She was very patient as she dealt with us and our German Shephard puppy at the time lol! But, once we got those back we knew we made the right decision in picking them to do our wedding as well. Leading up to the wedding, she was very organized and was very helpful in lining out what was expected for the day-of. When our wedding day came, Carrie and Ganer tag teamed the whole day and did an amazing job at capturing every moment!! They are such great people to work with and just made the whole day fun and easy for all of us. We loved working with them and just love how our photos turned out! Even while we were waiting for them, Carrie kept us updated along the way and didn’t make us feel worried at all. We just love our how them and our photos so much and couldn’t imagine having any other photographer!! We cannot recommend them enough and really appreciated all the work they put in to capture our special day!!

I can't recommend this team highly enough. I reached out to Carrie after seeing that her photos were more cinematic which was what I was looking for. I am still in shock and awe at the level to which she delivered on that. These are the best wedding photos I've ever seen, and they are mine!! When it comes to delivery, simply put, the lady will outperform all of your expectations. The sheer quantity and attention to detail will leave you both baffled and delighted. Months later I'm still finding new favorites when perusing the collection. I can't recommend her enough. Do yourself a favor by booking her immediately and not spending a second longer worrying about the photography on your special day.

Carrie is the most wholesome and down to earth photographer I have ever worked with. She is so adept at making everyone in the vicinity feel calm, welcome, and happy. As a covid bride, she was so helpful in any rescheduling that had to happen, and was dedicated to making our vision come to life. Her aesthetic is beautiful, light, bright, and open. She is down to get fun shots and she’s not afraid to use color. I could not recommend Carrie and Sur La Lune enough.

We worked with Carrie and Garner for over a year; they shot our engagement and wedding. Both sets of photos absolutely blew us away. Every single shot could be put up in my house somewhere- they’re that good! Beyond their stunning work, they are just awesome people to work with. Our engagement shoot was so fun, Carrie was always giving us something to laugh at. At the wedding, they got all the shots- the ones I asked for and even ones I didn’t know I needed. They were so professional, prompt, and fun to work with. I would book them over and over again.

My husband and I got married in September 2021 and we could not have chosen a better wedding photographer than Sur La Lune! We did engagement photos with Carrie about 6 months before the wedding, and she was instantly so friendly and warm. She made us feel like rock stars in that photoshoot even though I normally hate being in front of a camera for any extended period of time. It was really great to work with her before our wedding day and trust that she’d capture things the way we wanted. On the day of the wedding she and her husband Ganer (photography dream team!) were prompt and split up to cover the girls and guys at their respective airbnbs. Carrie was amazing at getting both candid and (fun) posed shots of my bridal party while I was in the makeup chair, and Ganer was really engaging and made the guys feel at ease while getting photos of them getting ready (drinking). We did family photos before and after the ceremony, and during both Carrie was great about keeping us on schedule and being efficient so we could get back to visiting with guests and enjoying the party. She was also really flexible with us as we decided to skip sunset photos and did a quick nighttime session under the bistro lights on the patio during the reception (which came out SO cute). Overall, Sur La Lune was an easy choice – we loved working with Carrie and Ganer, they were extremely kind and accommodating, and the photo editing style is still natural but so vibrant! We love love love our photos so much and highly recommend Sur La Lune!

Carrie and Ganer were AMAZING! We met Carrie because she had photographed our friends’ wedding, and they highly recommended her. From the first contact with her, she was so communicative, great at setting expectations, and we loved her photography style. Sur La Lune was the only choice for us. After reading their bio, their approach to wedding photos, and seeing the fantastic quality of their work, we immediately reached out. They were so accommodating to us and our needs. They answered questions that we had, they provided us with resources to help us better plan our wedding, and helped us keep our wedding on track. They were timely, patient, and utterly kind. Our wedding photos were beautiful, plentiful, and provided to us very quickly! The photos were honest, were not heavily edited, and really captured our special day. A lot of variety was provided, too! Sur La Lune photography is amazing! My husband and I used her for our engagement photos and now our wedding. She listened to what we wanted and I love that she wanted candid photos. She did a great mix between traditional wedding photos and the candid photos. It was very important to us to find someone that was also LGBTQ+ friendly and Sur La Lune/Carrie is that. She made us feel comfortable and be free to be us. Just simply amazing!

I cannot thank Carrie and Ganer enough for making our wedding day so spectacular. I had seen her work through a friend’s wedding and contacted her the day after I got engaged. She was the one vendor I knew we had to have and found her availability before we even had a venue. They live in Kentucky but came to Florida to photograph our wedding. They love to travel and their rates for out of state are so reasonable and affordable. They stood by our side through two postponements and three different wedding dates due to the pandemic and were so supportive and understanding with all of our changes. Carrie even helped ensure our timeline with smooth enough to allow for all the pictures that we wanted. Come the day of the wedding, we never felt like we were being photographed. It felt like we were just living the best day of our lives and got to have that captured by two friends. The photos are beyond amazing and there is not a single one that we don’t love. She was so communicative throughout the entire process, even following the wedding, and kept us up-to-date on how the editing was going. She even sent us teasers (like 100) before our full album was delivered. I cannot sing their praises high enough.

I can't thank Carrie enough for going out of her way to help capture my wedding day. We originally planned for a 150+ person wedding in Chattanooga, TN in October 2021, and unfortunately, Delta cases were rising rapidly enough in that area that we decided to pivot and have an intimate 35 person wedding where we live in Colorado. Without hesitating, Carrie made it work for my husband and I logistically and financially (now that a plane ticket was needed!) and before anything else commended us for following what was right for us. This example truly encapsulates Sur la Lune Photography's spirit in my mind - compassionate, honest service that puts people first. You can absolutely see that in the amazing work Carrie produced with our beautiful photos, which several friends and family (unprompted) have said are the best wedding photos they've ever seen. So much love, fun, inclusivity, and whimsy was captured that day, which originally drew me to Sur La Lune's style. Carrie truly goes out of her way to make her clients feel supported and listened to while providing fantastic guidance and direction on the day of the wedding. Choosing Sur La Lune Photography was hands down the best wedding vendor decision we made. I can't stop looking at our beautiful photos, thank you Carrie!!

While I was lucky to have had a lot of really good wedding vendors, Carrie and Ganer are by far my favorite. They are incredibly talented. That is evident in their photographs and, boy, did they deliver with a wedding album that they went above and beyond on just like everything else. They captured the most genuine photographs that I will cherish forever. They caught the raw emotions and the photos really let us relive that day, which we will do over and over for years to come. I had seen enough of their photos to know that was the kind of product I would be getting when I booked them, but I didn’t fully know then the kind of people that they are. After working with them over a very long engagement, I can tell you that these two are the best of people. They stuck with me through 4 date changes, worked hard to accommodate me each time, and were always great communicators through the whole process, even providing encouragement when the pandemic would cause another date change. When I had to switch wedding venues at the 11th hour, they went above and beyond to give me the lush green outdoor photographs that I had been envisioning at the prior venue for two years. When I switched to a venue with a more industrial look, I had accepted that I would not get the green, outdoor backgrounds that I wanted. But true to form, Carrie and Ganer got creative and found multiple ways to give me the backgrounds I had always wanted. They have an eye for that kind of thing and the pictures truly blew me away, but that is just the kind of people they are. They care deeply for their clients and it shows in everything they do. If that isn’t reason enough to book them then how much fun you’ll have with them is. They effortlessly make everything so comfortable and natural and it ends up being an absolute blast. Even my husband has mentioned several times, how much fun he had taking pictures with them. We genuinely cannot say enough good things about them and can guarantee that we will find a way to have more photo opportunities with them!

We had the pleasure of knowing Carrie & Ganer before we booked them for our Tampa, FL wedding (later adjusted to a vow renewal due to COVID-19) so we knew they were talented. But let me tell you, they blew our expectations out of the Tampa Bay water!! Wow, wow, wow!!! Through their photos we are able to see and FEEL the emotion, energy and beauty of our vow renewal. Somehow Ganer & Carrie were EVERYWHERE at all times. It is so incredible to look back at all the moments we remembered being apart of and moments that didn't include us, but we got to be made aware of and live in because they intentionally chose to document them. We are not a couple that loves posing for photos but Carrie and Ganer have this amazing ability to help you focus on being in the moment instead being in front of the camera. And because of that ability, all of our photos feel so organic instead of posed. We whole heartedly believe there's not another photographer team that could have done a better job capturing our vow renewal in a way that represented US as a couple. If you want organic, creative, fun, and thoughtful photographers that aim to capture your day in a way that is authentic to you - stop looking and book Sur La Lune Photography! This was easily the BEST vendor decision we made.

I won't go into details about the talent of Carrie and Ganer because their photos speak for themselves. What you need to know is how compassionate, positive, and loving these two humans are. We initially hired Carrie and Ganer for our wedding which was cancelled twice due to Covid. Eventually, we decided to use them for a lifestyle shoot to showcase our new house and our sweet baby boy. HOLY COW THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Their flexibility on rescheduling and their understanding nature brought me to tears... twice. They truly wanted to support us in anyway we needed. Without any judgment and with nothing but love, they penciled us in when we requested and changed their focus to match ours. Then the shoot came. My husband and I are not familiar with being in front of a camera, but Carrie and Ganer made us feel like models. We were so comfortable around them, they almost felt like family. We shared so many laughs and they played with/babysat our one year old while we had some couples photos. They didn't forget our pets either!! They captured the personality of our house and our family. We were so weepy going through the photos. If I could give them 2000 stars, I would. Their photography skills are amazing, but truly, if you're looking for someone who wants to understand and support you, look no further. You will not be disappointed.

I don’t have enough kind words in my vocabulary to describe Sur La Lune… Carrie and Ganer are just absolutely wonderful people in every sense of the word! Looking through our wedding photos for the first time transported me back to those moments on that day even though it was weeks later in my living room. Carrie’s artistry is perfection! She’s so detailed oriented and every photo is absolutely incredible! The angles, the lighting, the posing, the backdrops, the candids, BAM, nailed it! I literally just shared our entire wedding album with my family and friends because everyone deserves to be touched by the joy Carrie and Ganer captured on our big day! Every photo is so authentic, and we couldn’t be more thankful! Our wedding was held on my family’s farm in Edmonton, KY. My family and I created our little wedding venue from scratch and Carrie and Ganer were able to capture EVERY DETAIL! When you spend so much time putting together your day, it’s so important to have thoughtful, meaningful, BEAUTIFUL documentation of all the details and little moments most might miss. Along with this, my husband and I are really free-spirited, easy going, and family oriented, so it was extremely important that our wedding photos captured the essence of “us” on our big day. Carrie did the prep work necessary to make sure they were able to capture all the important parts of our day, big and small, and it means the world to us that we get to look back on them whenever we want! She took the time to get to know us as a couple and truly understand our vision for the day. I can’t wait for more of our next big life events to happen for a lot of reasons, but also to have an excuse to work with Sur La Lune again! Even our guests were like, “wow they were everywhere and so freakin’ kind!” - Kindness is important y’all! Thank you again Carrie and Ganer! It isn't often that you regard a wedding vendor as more of a friend than a hire. Carrie and Ganer are the exception to this. From the moment we met them (I think over two years ago at this point), I knew that we had made the right choice for a photographer. When COVID forced our original wedding plans to be discarded, Carrie was so accommodating and supportive of our plans as we pivoted, adjusted, and embraced the disappointment that early 2020 brought to the world. Carrie and Ganer ended up photographing our tiny immediate-family only ceremony, and did a beautiful job of capturing our love and the sweet memories created. Then, when we were able to have our "Happily Ever After" (or Wedding 2.0), where we renewed our vows and celebrated with all of our loved ones at our wedding reception, Carrie and Ganer showed up again! I feel so lucky to have had the unique privilege of getting to work with them twice. Nobody captures emotion, love, and pure joy like they can. If you're going to splurge on anything wedding expense-related, splurge on a good photographer who you know will fulfill your dreams (and probably surpass your expectations as well!). I will recommend Sur La Lune to everyone I meet, for the rest of time. These are good, good people. We love them!
