From my first conversation with Susan I knew she was going to be such a dream to work with for both my engagement photos & wedding! You can really feel the energy and passion she has for her work and that translates into her incredible photos. I got married at an indoor/outdoor venue during a tropical storm (40-50 mph winds) and she was able to pivot the plan day-of to make sure I got all the best shots (while staying clean & dry). It meant the world to me and was executed seamlessly. I also LOVED how she posted behind the scenes content on social media that I could re-post/save/send to family, and received my sneak peak photos, all by the next day. I felt so comfortable with her and her team throughout the entire process and felt very taken care of on the big day. When you let Susan do her thing, her talent truly shines. Would recommend her to all my friends!

Susan, through my entire experience with her (not just at the wedding), was very personable and easy to communicate with. The day of the wedding, I was pleasantly surprised by how organized, calm, and humorous she was. Susan is a friend, a planner, and a photographer throughout your entire wedding process. Prior to us even booking Susan, she spent a full hour talking to us- learning about us, sharing with us her process, and going through what all the next steps would look like. Susan takes an incredible personal approach to every couple she works with. Susan plans your entire wedding timeline for you – this is a huge help when planning your wedding day. She also guides you with many helpful hints, tricks, and guides- but ultimately respects what decisions you make for your wedding. I ran into many weather challenges and Susan was an amazing help through it all. For our engagement shoot- we had to reschedule twice due to rain and wind- as we were shooting on a beach. During each of these “reschedules”, Susan would call me to go through the pro’s and con’s of whether we would move forward with the shoot or not. For the wedding day, when rain was becoming a reality in the forecast, Susan talked to me on the phone for an hour to help me understand how she would make the day work regardless. I am a very type A/ planner person who loves sunshine, and I can honestly say Susan made the rain a non-issue on my wedding day, and majority of the pictures you could not even tell it was raining. Susan also put herself straight in the rain countless times to ensure I got the photos I was dreaming of- and they were light, airy and incredible!! Susan is also so much fun, very kind, and easy to work with! You become a friend during the process and as Susan is editing she will frequently text you “sneak peaks” which is so much fun to be able to see the photos come to life live. I cannot thank Susan enough for all her help through the entire wedding process, and how amazing she was on the wedding day!!

We hired Susan for our engagement shoot & wedding based off of reviews & checking out her social media. We immediately loved her shooting style & vibe! When we met up for our engagement shoot, we quickly realized that Susan was so cool & my fiancé & I had so much fun! Susan was one of the best decisions we made when it came to vendors for our wedding. We initially hired a different photography company when we first started planning in 2019 and after we had an engagement session with them, we decided we did not want to move forward with them for our wedding day. We were looking for a new photographer and Susan was the first photographer we met with (out of 6) on a zoom call in the middle of 2020. My husband and I both loved her personality and could tell how detailed she was and how much she cared about her clients and the photos she took. After meeting with the other photographers, no one compared to our meeting with her and we decided to move forward. Booking with Susan is an EXPERIENCE. She is truly an expert at what she does and sends you so much helpful information along the way so that you are prepared for your wedding day – she wants your pics to turn out beautiful just as much as you do! On our wedding day, Susan and her team were amazing. They kept everything moving and made sure we stayed on time but still managed to keep a calm and fun energy throughout the day. My bridal party was also raving about her and her team. Even after the wedding, she kept in touch and would send sneak peaks and the turnaround time for her to send us the photos was so quick! The way she organizes the photos in her gallery is so helpful. She is a true professional and I could go on and on about how amazing she is. I would recommend her 10/10!

Susan and her assistant, Amberlee, were absolutely phenomenal on the day of our wedding. They considered every single detail and put care and thought into getting every shot so that not a single experience was missed. It is obvious that Susan is a consummate professional who has a true passion for capturing every one of her couple's special moments. We started with an engagement session about 8 months before our wedding. We were worried that we would feel awkward an uncomfortable since we are not great in photos, but Susan made us feel so comfortable and at ease. She taught us the best ways to pose naturally, which was perfect practice to make all of our wedding day portraits flow smoothly. I have said “Susan is amazing” no less than 10,000 times during our wedding planning! I knew immediately Susan was it and we were in good hands! Her honesty is what I appreciated the most. She took the time to chat with me and help me understand and see how certain decisions we made would shape our wedding day. At the end of the day it is your wedding and she supports your decisions but her knowledge and understanding helped making these decisions easier for Ryan and I. She is unbelievably talented and her attention to detail is so on point and amazing. I strongly encourage booking engagement photos too. Ryan and I never had never taken a professional picture before in our lives and that time with Susan allowed us to get to know each other but also prepared us for what to expect on our wedding day. Susan was the first vendor we booked for our May 2021 wedding, and boy are we happy we did. The first time my fiancé and I spoke with Susan, we knew we had to book with her. Not only did we click with her but we were beyond impressed by her knowledge in wedding photography. We had our engagement session in July and were BLOWN AWAY! It was the first time my fiancé and I took professional photos, so of course we were nervous. After talking to Susan for only a few minutes those nerves went away. Susan is an extremely talented photographer. We were so lucky to have her shoot our engagement shoot before covid hit. From the moment we first reached out to Susan our experience working with her was effortless and enjoyable. She is easy to communicate with and worked with us to reschedule our engagement photos several times due to bad weather! My fiance and I were anxious about spending 2 hours taking engagement photos but Susan makes you feel totally comfortable and natural throughout the whole experience. She accommodated all of our last minute requests including getting our dog into photos! She is professional and gets her job done but also can't help but make you (and family and friends!) have fun while working with her. The photos from our wedding are absolutely flawless. Words cannot express how happy we are to have had Susan as our photographer! We came across her photos on Instagram and knew right away we had to see if she would be available for our wedding. Everything leading up to our day was 100% organized from payments to an entire outline of everything we could expect from her for the day to what we needed for her to take amazing pictures on the wedding day! On the day of, she was like a friend hanging out with us while we were getting ready! She captured perfect moments during our ceremony and made us look like professional models during the photos! She also gave us about 30 preview photos literally the NEXT DAY for us to share with family and friends! We got our entire album within a few weeks! Literally every picture was perfect - which I expected based on her amazing instagram (which is actually how I found Susan - thank goodness!). She is worth every single penny and we couldn't have asked for a better person to capture our wedding day!

My husband and I are just a little slow at writing our wedding reviews. I think we were both hoping what to say with time. However, we are both still at a loss for words when it comes to Susan's work. Amazing just doesn't seem to describe it. From creating our photography timeline to our wedding day, she was there for everything. Susan just crushed it, plain and simple! From the first time we spoke to her it was clear that she was a pro. She knew exactly what needed to be done and the photos spoke for themselves. Susan was the first vendor we booked for our wedding (October 2018). She set the tone for the rest of our planning process & it was the best decision ever. Right off the bat, Susan made us feel very comfortable and understood exactly what we were looking for. She was easy to talk to and treated us like friends, not just another client. We first met Susan face-to-face at our engagement shoot. She and her husband were lovely and very easy to work with. Despite it being incredibly windy, Susan made the shoot extremely enjoyable. We had a great time and highly recommend it to anyone who is questioning whether or not they should add it to their package. It was the BEST way for us to get to know each other and for her to get a feel for what we were comfortable with... and the photos were amazing! Leading up to the wedding, Susan was very proactive about confirming the shooting plan and timing with the other vendors. She was always available for questions and was easy to get a hold of. The week of, there was news that a Nor'easter would be passing through the weekend of our wedding (ugh). Susan called and reassured us that everything was going to be fine and worked out a back-up plan just in case. On the day of, Susan and her second shooter were very organized and easy to work with. Even though we had to shoot everything in one spot due to weather, she made the most of it (you'd never know it was storming by looking at the pics!). They worked seamlessly with the other vendors and made the hours leading up to the ceremony stress-free. During the reception, Susan and her team were complete professionals - they got every shot we could hope for and were respectful of giving us and our family space when needed. We never felt like we had to slow down our night for a picture. All in all - WORK WITH SUSAN. She's a professional and I couldn't imagine the day without her! The photos were absolutely gorgeous and something we'll cherish forever! :)

Hiring Susan was one of the best decisions I made in the wedding planning process. Your photographer is one of the most important people you will hire. They are with you ALL day. As soon as we finished our engagement session with her (which I highly recommend doing), we knew we were in the best hands. She made us feel SO comfortable and her directions are specific that you can’t possibly mess up. She knows how to pose you in a way that looks natural and organic. When she tells you to point your toe, trust her and point it. She has this natural ability to know what translates well through her lens and what doesn’t. TRUST her! Her personality is upbeat, fun and she makes you feel so comfortable. You spend so much time taking photos. You want someone there who will keep the mood happy and fun and she does! I also need to mention her detail shots. Susan is just as good at capturing these and she is at photographing people. Susan was absolutely wonderful to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and really guides you through the process every step of the way. She sends out questionnaires along the way to get to know her couples, and creates a timeline that is very helpful in planning the wedding day. She is extremely responsive to emails, and will give you advice on anything you ask for. We did both our engagement and wedding photos with her, and were so beyond happy with the results. During the sessions, she makes you feel very comfortable, and coaches you so that the poses look and feel natural, and makes the long photo sessions fun. She is so creative, and has so much experience that she really knows how to find the best locations and lighting to give you amazing photos. Her second shooter for our wedding day, Amber, was also absolutely wonderful to work with. All of our family and friends were so impressed with their professionalism and expertise. Susan is also very excellent at delivering photos as soon as she can. Our engagement photos were ready within days of our session. The morning after the wedding, I woke up and Susan had already posted 16 sneak peek wedding photos on my Facebook page so that we could see them before we went away for our honeymoon. Hiring Susan was the very first thing I did for our wedding. I didn’t even want to meet with any other photographers and I’m pretty sure I texted her on our way home from meeting for the first time and told her “we’re in!” There is something super unique about Susan in both her personality and photography. She makes you feel like a long-time friend in such a short time. She was more than an amazing photographer for us. She was a wedding planning, a décor expert and always there for any of my wedding planning meltdowns. I felt like I could ask her anything and valued every word of advice she gave me. Her photography is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Our engagement shoot was so fun, Susan made us feel super comfortable in front of the camera and my husband ended up being a real ham during the shoot! Our wedding day was amazing. She kept us on schedule, got every little detail shot I hoped for, and dealt with some bridal party shenanigans like a true professional. Susan has this amazing ability to make any picture, in any setting look beautiful. I can’t express enough how much I am in love with our photos, and how many compliments we have received from all of our family and friends on how amazing they look. I would plan a wedding every year if it meant Susan was there taking pictures. For a girl who had never envisioned getting married, much less know what she wanted her wedding to be like when the time came, Susan was a dream come true. There are several things, big and small, that you'll see repeated in all the other reviews, which I can’t stress enough how true all those statements are, but I’ll try to capture some of the highlights that we remember the most: - Her infectious bubbly, sassy personality. Susan has a way of making everyone feel at ease while being honest in her feedback, no matter the situation. - Susan isn’t just your photographer; she’s also part cheerleader, decorator and event planner. She wants everything to go as smoothly as possible because it gives her more things to photograph and more time for her to photograph all those details & moments! - She created a Facebook group for all her brides to ask questions, share ideas and look for items to buy & sell! She also sends out her own magazine of tips and tricks, how the couple can best prepare for the bid day. - Her eye for finding things you never saw, and using them to create your favorite pictures! We walked into our engagement shoot and wedding with an idea of what we thought Susan would like. Susan walked around for 5 minutes and found backdrops and angles that we never saw and would become the backdrops of our favorite pictures! - Timeliness. Susan knows how eager couples are to receive their pictures and she works hard to try and deliver them as fast as possible. We ended up receiving our engagement shoot pictures within 48s hrs, and she sent us our wedding pictures almost EXACTLY a month after our wedding date. From the moment we met Susan, we knew she was the one and, even still, she exceeded all of our expectations. She sent the sweetest gift of champagne and other goodies to welcome us after we signed her on, and after our engagement shoot, she sent us a keepsake locket with a picture from the shoot too. Susan just consistently went above and beyond to make us comfortable in front of the camera, kept in contact despite a 16 month engagement, was a joy to be around the day of and delivered photographs that I will forever call ‘the moments we peaked’. We had an incredible experience throughout the process and now have pictures that we’ll treasure forever. Thank you Susan!!!!

Booking Susan as our wedding photographer was easily the best decision we ever made. From the moment we first met with her, I know there was something special. Her personality was so vibrant, she was sassy, and had such talent as we sat in awe looking at all of her photos in her office. As we continued to get to know her through social media, occasional texts, and our engagement session, there was no doubt in our mind that we had picked the right person. Two days ago, our wedding day finally came! I sat in the morning watching my bridesmaids and family get ready. The silent nerves of the day began to set in. It wasn't until Susan showed up that it really hit me. She embraced me as if we had been lifelong friends and her excitement truly showed. She cares SO MUCH about her clients. She is the glue that holds the entire day together. There were moments when we inevitably ran off schedule or were running behind. Susan NEVER made me feel stressed or overwhelmed. She was flexible and patient. She was honest when we needed to move around some scheduled pictures and always had my best interest in mind. She was SO FUN and had us laughing the entire day! She has this calming vibe about her while still being hilarious and always willing to crack a joke with the bride and the groom. We trusted her judgment and even left our reception to get some final shots as the sun was setting. At this point, I wish we were getting married again just so we could hang out with her all day! Susan is a true professional and now someone that will be a lifelong friend to us. She is down-to-earth and stands in a league of her own in her profession. I even heard her say "we can find better lighting" several times while we were searching for the perfect spot with natural light to take our photos. This proves how much Susan cares about her passion. She will NEVER settle for anything less than the best. Literally, 10 hours after our wedding had ended, she already sent me some teasers...one of them being the BEST PICTURE I COULD HAVE EVER DREAMED OF! While I would be honestly be happy with that one, single photo that captured our love...I know that there will be tons more than Susan sends our way. I don't even know where to start with Susan. She was the photographer at my husbands cousins wedding and from the second I saw the pictures from wedding, (not to mention, I wasn't even engaged at the time!) I knew that when I did get engaged, she would be the photographer I chose. Shortly after that wedding, I got engaged. Before even booking a venue, actually 2 days after I got engaged, I contacted Susan. Not even minutes after contacting her, I had a response in my inbox and we immediately hit it off. I had no doubts about Susan even with only a few messages back and forth. She became my right hand in wedding planning. We would text back and forth about Pinterest pictures we found and she immediately became the inspiration for my pastel colored spring wedding. She took our engagement pictures in Branch Brook Park and I don't just love them, I adore them. Days after we got the prints back, we printed about 50 of them and she made that decision very hard. The pictures are absolutely stunning. So this leads us to our wedding day and let me tell you...my husband and I are blown away with the pictures. We fell in love with every single one. Susan posted a few pictures the next day after our wedding and I immediately became impatient for more. She had our blog the following day on Facebook and the pictures are flawless. I can sit here and talk about Susan all night. She isn't only an amazing photographer, but an amazing friend. I can't thank her enough for capturing the love between my husband and I. We love you!! As soon as we met with Susan a year before our wedding and she offered us a beer and a smile in her awesome office, we knew we had found our wedding photographer. Our engagement session was outside on a cold, rainy day and the photos not only came out amazing, but she had them back to us literally the next day. Her laugh and professionalism helped us ease our awkwardness in front of the camera. At the wedding, (another rainy day!) Susan and her team let my husband & my personalities show and we cannot wait to see the final images. She got in a muddy river ditch to get an awesome shot of us, and I don't know many photographers who would do that! The quick views we got on the small screen of her camera throughout the night were amazing, so I can only imagine how good they will look full size. Her team had our entire bridal party cracking up the entire time. She also provided us with a photobooth that people flocked to, and the props provided were a hit. There was a line for it almost all night. Susan - thank you so much! We are so glad we had you as part of our day, and can't tell you how much we appreciate you!

Where do we even start?! We were referred to Susan by my cousin who also hired her and the Something Blue team for their wedding...From the moment we met Susan and saw her artistry we were completely sold! We didn't even look for another photographer! Aside from her easy going personality and all around awesomeness her photography skills are ON POINT!!! We were recently married on 9.9.16 and Susan and her team made sure it was a day we will never forget! She and her staff were professional but FUN and made the process and day that much easier! Susan and Jae were great to work with! Susan answered all emails and text messages quickly and help to stop those last minute jitters. Their positive energy matched perfectly with our crazy and wonderful bridal party. Susan truly knows how to work with angles and lighting, and she held her camera inches above water on a moving dock to get the perfect shot. Also, her price is amazing for her quality of work. When my husband Pat and I first started wedding planning the first requirement that I had was that Susan would be our photographer! I had met Susan when I worked with a DJ company and we worked a wedding together. Her commitment, creativity and bubbly personality stood out in my mind and I knew that one day I would be asking her to photograph my wedding. Forward to about 6 years later... our wedding pictures have exceeded what I would have hope for them to be 6 years ago. Susan did an amazing job capturing all of the details of our special day. Susan is an AMAZING photographer! The BEST! When we first met Susan we knew immediately that we had to have her shoot our wedding!! Pictures were the number one most important thing to us when it came to our wedding so we knew we had to have the best. Her work is amazing. She will do whatever it takes to get that "PERFECT" shot!
