Absolutely HORRIBLE! My husband and I hired Susan Gilbert in 2015 for our wedding in 2016. To start off we signed her contract and mailed it to her and when we asked for a hard copy with her signature it was never provided. Susan was over an hour late for our engagement session and this trend continued through my bridals an onto our wedding day. As stated in our contract we were supposed to receive a guest book PRIOR to the wedding for use at our bridal/couples shower as well as a framed engagement portrait both of which were delivered the day of our wedding roughly an hour before the ceremony. It has been 2 years since our wedding and we still do not have everything we paid for. Since our wedding we have called, texted and emailed Susan about our photos and we have been ignored and those very few times we have managed to get her on the phone we have been met with nothing but excuses. The photos taken on our wedding day are low quality and the majority of them are blurry and out of focus. The secondary photographer that was there that day left the ceremony WITHOUT giving Susan the flash drive which should have NEVER happened. Roughly 4 months ago we managed to get ahold of Susan about our wedding album that she had supposedly mailed out over a year ago which conveniently we never received so she had to draft a “new” one. The draft she sent us my husband’s name was incorrect.. We brought this to her attention and she stated that she had already sent it to the printer and she would have to pay to get it corrected. After going back and fourth with her the correction was made and we received our album roughly two weeks later. Much to our dismay the photos in our album were NOT what we selected and blurry. Also stated in our contract we were supposed to receive a flash drive with ALL images Susan had taken of my husband and I and SHOCKER we still do not have this either. We have asked multiple times for our flash drive and it has been “lost” in the mail. My husband and I are completely heart broken with the way we have been treated and ignored by Susan. We do NOT want anyone else to suffer the way we have please read this review and heed our warning.

Absolutely pleased by everything from Susan. She ran my wedding (which she wasn't hired for that) when my coordinator fell through. Her pictures are absolutely beautiful and her personality is up beat and great. I can say that if she was not at my wedding it would have probably gone bad considering my coordinator did not help with anything that day... I can't thank Susan enough for everything she did that day to make my wedding so wonderful. Photos are amazing! She gets EVERYTHING. I feel like she captures the real you in every photo. I'm so happy :)

Where can we start....Susan has so much personality and a knack for taking some of the best shots! The moment I got a call from her to start planning our wedding, we talked for over an hour. We loved her ideas and fun spirit while shooting engagements. She kept us all in line at the wedding and made sure not to miss anything or any angle. She made it super easy to work with. My Bridals turned out AMAZING. She does care about each of her clients and is a total animal lover, too (we opted not to include our cats in the engagements though—haha!) She really does some amazing work!

Susan's pictures are breath taking. She has the ability to capture beautiful, natural candid photos that show the true personality of each person. Susan did our engagement pictures, bridals and wedding pictures. We had such a blast doing all of them, and they are pictures that we will cherish forever. Susan does not do digital photos, so do not anticipate to receive them back instantaneously. However, you have the ability to see the pictures she is taking as you go, and when you get back the final product, it will be completely worth the wait. We will gladly be using Susan for any more of our photo needs!

Married on October 8, 2016. We purchased an upgraded package with several inclusions that we have never received. Susan still owes us a framed engagement picture, framed wedding picture, and wedding album. I have contacted her more times than I can count and receive either excuses or promises of receiving it in the future and never do. We were married in October and our pictures were not even uploaded until after Christmas. She didn’t finish our edits until the following July. I am very understanding to health and life problems occurring, but there comes a point where you should make it right if you are incapable of upholding your end of the contract. I would not and do not recommend using her for photography due to her unprofessionalism, lack of timeliness, and for not receiving what we paid for. I have been hesitant to leave an honest review until I received everything I paid for, but after 20 months of waiting I’ve given up. Please save yourself stress, worry, and tears and do not use Susan Gilbert Photography, ESPECIALLY on one of the most important times of your life.

DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! I am so thankful that I chose Susan as my photographer. I chose her because her pictures were the best for the budget that I wanted to spend. Boy, did she impress me! My friends and family have been gushing about how my engagement photos look like they are from a magazine. I was not sure about where to take our engagement pictures, but Susan suggested the perfect place that met our vision. And my bridals...guys, my bridals are STUNNING!!!! Susan has a way about capturing the light in a photo that is breathtaking. My mom came with me to my bridal shoot, and loved how professional and sweet Susan was. I was originally nervous that my bridals and engagement portrait was not going to be ready for my wedding, as it was a quick turn around time, but Susan got me everything I needed on time! Her assistant, Megan, did my wedding because Susan had another wedding booked on the same day, but Megan was also wonderful! She suggested great poses for the bridal party and was very receptive to feedback. I cannot wait to see my pictures as I know they will be awesome! Thank you Susan and Megan!!!

My son and daughter-in-law were married December 2017. My DIL surrounded herself with an excellent team of professionals - wedding planner, videographer, DJ, florist, caterer, and photographer. My DIL carefully researched each of these positions, as this was going to be HER day and she wanted everything perfect!! All the professionals brought their A game, including her photographer Susan Gilbert!! Susan showed up at 10am the day of the wedding, in order to capture every special moment of the day. Our day started with a mimosa brunch, then hair and make-up for bridal party, followed by groomsmen hanging out...then FIRST PEEK...then all the normal activities. Susan was extremely interactive, never intrusive...went with the flow!! Gave directions as well as took requests. A lot of the time you didn’t even know she was there. She ran up and down the stairs a million times...took pictures inside and out, even though temps were extremely cold (but bride wanted outside photos). She worked well with all the other professionals. She never seemed preoccupied or rushed. But most importantly, Susan knows how to “stage” the perfect photo—-from positioning of hands, bouquet, and people....floating a veil....using landscapes. In addition, she took beautiful action photos that captured all the emotions. Her work is simply beautiful!!!! The first peek picture of my DIL tapping my son on the shoulder is priceless ~orchestrated and executed by Susan. We are extremely happy with the time and energy Susan put into the wedding. Her photography skills are outstanding. Highly recommended Susan.

AMAZING!! What else can I say? Susan was a delight to work with, she was so much fun. There is no doubt that she connected with my daughter and through that connection she was able to capture the most incredible pictures. There had been some significant events in the lives of our family and Susan took the time to get to know us and our special circumstances. I firmly believe that her personal attention was the greatest gift she gave my daughter and our family. Engagements, bridal portraits, the wedding and reception are all phenomenal. There are not enough words to convey how pleased I am with the artistic work Susan did for us. I am sure I will spend hours revisiting the memory of this special time in our lives as I look back at these photographs. What a treasure she gave us. I recommend her highly for your special day!!

Stay Far, Far away!!!! Don’t waste your money and don’t fall into the SCAM of paying up front get the next upgraded package as you won’t see any of your items for years time. I was the Bride and my husband and I decided to pay upfront because we liked the idea of getting extra things, not knowing we wouldn’t receive them until a year + after our wedding. Not to mention we had our One year Wedding Anniversary and still had not received all of our items, When soon to find out I was not the only person who was going through this experience. Does she take good photos (sure) but that’s all you can expect. Don’t expect her to ever be on time and I mean ever. Late to our engagements, my Bridals and most importantly was over TWO hours late to my wedding. To the point she is snapping photos and guests are walking up, not to mention didn’t get any of the actual photos requested that would be taken before, such as I purchased all the robes for bridal party none of those. Also the engagement portrait that should have been out front she forgot to bring it. The list seriously goes on and on, not a single side by side photo taken of my husband and his mother that they actually posed For. Then when it comes to getting your photos for the albums, she had her partner there with her taking photos as well and hers were up a little over 3 months, not the 8-10weeks that is stated in the contract. then when it came to getting the rest of the photos up she claimed she couldn’t reach her partner which later got those images took about 4 months. So to give an idea Wedding was in September 2016. The photos weren’t All up online until January 16-17th 2017.Which after she had those up I immediately went and picked all the images I wanted for the album, which I submitted end of January because she said it takes a few months. However I did not receive my album until End of September, which at that point she stated she would be sending my USB of all our albums and rights to our photos. We did not receive the USB until January 2 2018. After months went by of her lack of responses. Would sent texts, called and left voicemails and would not return any of my responses until months later. I have the screen shots to show all of this information. Now did she print some photos for us sure and give us a Small canvas don’t get confused that it’s a big one because it’s not. That was a nice gesture but did not make up for any of the stress we had to go through. Did I mention the way she spoke to my Mother and my Mother in Law and guests at the wedding?? Or my Maid of honor never have a met someone who speaks to clients this way.

What can I say about Susan... not enough! Susan did my engagements, bridals, and wedding and I would work with her again for every event in my life is possible. I told her my vision and she knew exactly what I was thinking, sometimes without me having to go into detail! For bridals we did a fairytale theme and they were even better than what I had dreamed for them to be! Susan is so personable and kind but isn’t afraid to speak up when your wedding party is rowdy, which they too appreciated. Susan stayed with me for as long as I wanted with each session and made them fun. I fully recommend her to anyone. Thanks Susan Hannah and Jason Buchan

I don't even know where to begin. First of all, she was over 2 hours late for the wedding with no phone or text which meant lots of missed photo opportunities. So when she did arrive everything was rushed. She was very rude to some of the bridal party. She was supposed to bring the bridal portrait but "forgot" to bring it. She was "sick" the whole shoot and even going in detail about it which was not very professional. The wedding took place in 2016 and my DIL just received the photo album about 4 months ago and just received the thumb drive of photos 1 week ago. Every time my DIL would text her, she would give excuse after excuse why she hadn't finished the photos. and some of her responses were very rude and unprofessional. The wedding photos were good (although it took her months to send to her) however, I know there are plenty of wedding photographers that also do good work and are more professional, honest and make the wedding date unforgettable. Unfortunately for us, our experience was not a very happy one but one filled with frustration and disappointment.

My husband and I got married on November 9th at Balmorhea Events in Magnolia, and it was beautiful! Susan had recently broken her arm, and she showed up with her cast and all to photograph our wedding, if that's not dedication, I don't know what is! We got a sneak peak of our pictures a couple weeks ago, and they turned out amazing! She got great angles, captured everyone very naturally, and did a beautiful job capturing sunset pictures (my husband and I really wanted these!). Susan and I have a great relationship. Occasionally she'll text me to see how my husband and I are doing or to see how our Huskies are behaving ;), she's truly a great person inside and out. Overall, Susan has gone above and beyond to make sure our pictures were everything we wanted, I can't wait to see the rest!

We booked Susan just a month after we got engaged. I looked at so many photographers and fell in love with her portfolio. She is amazing to work with and we established a friendship over the course of 10 months. She has a great eye and perspective and everyone at my wedding had fun with her. She didn’t just play the part of a photographer... she helped me with my bustle among other things. She even arrived early for me! I would totally recommend booking Susan for ANY of your photography needs!

Susan took photos at our wedding on 12/28! She arrived at the time we discussed and was on her feet shooting from our rehearsal brunch to the moment we made our exit!!! Our guests adored her, she found a way to get the perfect angle and capture the moments we felt near to our hearts!!! Throughout the night she asked how she was doing, what she could do, and if we were satisfied! She really cared about our thoughts and making our day what we had dreamed it to be! We haven’t received photos back yet (it’s been 3 days haha!!!) but from the screenshots she sent they look AMAZING!! We are so eager to see some finished products and share them with family and friends!!! I’m sure I will be following this up with another 5 star review when we get our pictures back!!! All in all we were so pleased with Susan!!! We would recommend her services to anyone needed a photographer for their event!!!

You will not find a photographer more talented than Susan!! She did my engagement, bridal, and wedding pictures. Not only does she have an eye for perfect shots, she takes the time to edit them so perfectly. Everything has been done in a timely manner. She spent the time to put together a beautiful and interactive guestbook for us. She went above and beyond on bridal portraits- having them edited and framed and brought to the wedding. She is not only talented, but has a very positive attitude, making the whole experience so fun!!! She is just all around awesome. She understands how important these moments are to you and she does whatever it takes to make it perfect. One more thing, she acted as a second coordinator at the actual wedding!!! Making sure everybody was doing what they were supposed to be doing, even helped bustle my dress after pictures, and made sure everything was flowing on time. I️ can’t say enough about Susan. She is fantastic!!!

Susan was absolutely wonderful!!! I had a last minute bridal shoot and she was able to schedule that in and help me out! On the day of my wedding, she literally was my fairy god mother! Anything that went wrong she helped out and fixed it because I didn’t have a wedding planner! The photos she took were outstanding!!!! I couldn’t have gotten through my day without her! I will definitely be using Susan in the future!

Terrible, stay away. Susan is a con artist. She presents sincerity on first impressions. She took payment in full for additional services. When it came time she had excuse after excuse on why she did not call back or had to cancel appointments. Who does that to a nervous bride to be?? We had to get another photographer at the last minute at additional expense. We are proceeding in small claims court. Take your chances if you want but we found Susan to be a mess, a liar and a cheat.

I am so thankful that I found Susan and was able to get her as our photographer for the wedding!! She has been so patient with me and was able to make me comfortable in all of the sessions that we have had. I have been able to spend a lot of time getting to know Susan and not only is she an AWESOME photographer she is such a loving and great person in and out. She has made this process so smooth!! Any bride who is not sure who they should hire as their photographer should definitely consider Susan Gilbert. She will become a part of your family before you know it!!

What can I say... We LOVE Susan! There are literally no words to describe how amazing she has been! After meeting with Susan I immediately knew she was the perfect fit for us! Besides the fact that her portfolio is exquisite, her fun-loving personality had me sold right away! Susan has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I have ever met! The whole process from engagements to the wedding day Susan was amazing, she had me so excited for every upcoming shoot. She also was super quick about getting me all of the images back, including going above and beyond, staying up late which started by sending a few sneak peaks and ended up getting all of my photos! She made my husband and I so comfortable, knowing we are the type of people who are awkward at getting pictures taken, she was able to capture some really incredible photos! I was absolutely honored to have her play such a large role in my wedding. Every guest who had a chance to meet her raved about her sweet, fun, exciting personality! I will use her again and I would recommend her to anyone I come across. She is amazing!

Hiring Susan was the BEST decision we could have made. Not only is she incredibly talented and made me feel so beautiful, but she had my back on every aspect of the wedding and encouraged me throughout the whole process. She became a dear friend. During my bridal portraits, Susan noticed that pieces of lace on my dress were the wrong color. She helped us to inspect the rest of the dress, finding other pieces of the dress AND she made sure to take pictures of the discolored lace in case we had any trouble with the bridal salon. She arrived on time for my wedding and, I kid you not, surprised me with a book from the bridal portraits that she and her daughter put together for me. It was the most wonderful experience. I have given her name to several brides and I genuinely recommend her to anyone.

Susan has been sooo wonderful to work with since the very beginning. Her work is truly amazing and thankful I found her. You can tell from her passion she truly cares about making your day soo special for you. From all types of work she does she there to cater to your needs whatever it maybe. She helped us capture such beautiful moments I will always cherish forever... including when the Best Man pulled out a RING POP instead of our rings at the altar!! lol Thanks Susan for everything. I contacted Susan to shoot boudoir photos less than a month away from my wedding. It was very last minute and I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find anyone. Luckily Susan's schedule had just cleared up and we were able to schedule something a week before my wedding. After our shoot, Susan was able to turnaround pictures THE NEXT DAY for me to choose from to create the book to surprise my fiance. And then the book was ready THREE DAYS before the wedding instead of the day before. She completely surpassed my expectations with delivery. Amazing customer service! I do also have to mention how amazing it was to work with her. Boudoirs can be very intimidating but she made me feel very comfortable. It's not easy trying to come off 'sexy' in pictures but Susan was able to produce that. Would definitely recommend!

Susan was fantastic! We had engagements done as well as wedding day. Our big day was August 27th and she did a great job and had many ideas. We haven't received the pictures for the day of yet but they will be perfect. Also I love that they all go online so you can view and take any of them. She will be doing our maternity ones here soon and I can't wait!! Great choice for any occasion! *** EDIT Editing my review as I posted that so long ago. As I’m reading other reviews I’m starting to think I am in the same boat. It is about a year since we got married and I have yet to see any promised framed pictures, our album or edits. I have texted her to ask for updates and I don’t even know if I have the right number at this point or maybe she is ignoring me. Who knows. Anyone have any advice on what to do at this point?

Where to even begin! Besides Susan's obvious talent for amazing photography she is a wonderful person. We just finished taking our engagement pictures and we're at a loss for where to take them. She offered up a lot of options and was willing to travel to wherever we decided to take them. During our shoot she helped with direction and made the whole experience very fun and laid back and I think caught our personality perfectly!! Oh and even let us bring our fur-baby along!! After the shoot it only took about a month to receive our pictures back and we could not be more thrilled for how they turned out!! I cannot wait for our wedding day and to be able to look back at all the amazing memories for years to come!! We love you Susan!! Thank you!

Susan definitely has a very artistic eye! I was super happy with the photos I was seeing as she'd show me throughout the shoot they were coming out gorgeously! I had my maternity photos taken with her a few days ago (which I thought I wasn't going to be able to get done bc of my time line with delivering thinking I had more time than I actually do, lol) She definitely made me feel super comfortable. She coached me through the entire shoot with what poses to do, what to do with my hands etc. My boyfriend and I definitely enjoyed shooting with her. Looking forward to booking new born shoot with her when our little girl arrives!! Would totally recommend her to friends and family she's amazing! Can't wait to see my album and final photos

Susan takes amazing pictures and is so fun to work with!!

Susan has been not only an amazing friend but photographer from our engagement all the way to our big day. We had our wedding in colorado and Susan traveled all the way there for us. The weather on my bridal shoot day was not the best but she stayed positive and kept my energy up even though I was down about the cloudy conditions. Her shots were creative and just what I was looking for. I am not a model by any means but she instructed me how to pose to get the best shot. On our wedding day Susan was just as excited as I was about the wedding. She took some really cute and memorable photos with my girls and I. She got our girl pictures at the venue done quickly so we had time to go back up and put any finishing touches on before the ceremony started. Susan was able to get my husband and his rowdy college friends together to take some amazing and fun shots for them before the wedding. At the ceremony Susan was discreet and did not distract from our ceremony at all. After the ceremony was over she got our family photos and wedding party shoots done very quickly so we had time to focus on just Calvin and I. She asked my opinion before hand so we had shots we wanted already picked out so there was no stress or rush after we said our vows. Overall I have to say that Susan has an amazing artistic ability and she is polite and professional to work with. I would not hesitate to get her to take more photos for us throughout our lives together. If you want amazing, timeless photos get Susan as your photographer!

I got married on October 18, 2014. I received my album from Susan June 21, 2017. She did my bridal pictures as well, that were edited and posted in a timely manner. She even got some printed and framed and brought them to the wedding. The day of our wedding she brought an assistant, at no charge to us and together they took close to 3,000 photos. For the most part I was pleased with the pictures she took, but the only pictures I have with my mom are her zipping up my dress and us hugging as her and my dad gave me away during the ceremony. Up until this point I was happy with Susan’s services. It went downhill from there. It took longer than promised to get the pictures uploaded from the wedding. None were edited. I contacted her about the quality of the photos, as I was under the impression we would be getting some edited. She was understanding about the matter and said she sends us all the pictures then we pick the ones we want for “artistic editing” and she does roughly 30. She uses those 30 plus some to fill the album. So over the next few weeks we picked out those images. After that, it became incredibly hard to get a hold of Susan. At times I would get no response for weeks and months at a time. When I finally got a hold of her she would inform me of something tragic that happened to her or her family and that she wasn’t working due to that. This happened SEVERAL times. I’m in no way implying that she had a tough few years, however getting no response for months at a time is very frustrating. I was promised that my album was shipped multiple times and yet it still took almost 3 years. I was extremely nice and understanding. During that time I asked her to at least post the pictures she edited that were going to be in the album, and I didn’t get those till 2 weeks after we got the album. It finally took my parents seeking out a lawyer and my husband being straight forward and letting her know that if we didn’t get our album by the most recently promised date, we would be taking action. He was NOT rude about it but honest and stern. Immediately after he got off the phone with her she sent me an ugly text about how rude he was. Again, it had been almost 3 years, 100 excuses later, her being unreachable multiple times AND calling her from a different phone as she stopped responding to my calls/texts. Over the next 2 weeks while we waited for our album to ship there were other brides posting similar stories on her facebook page. I made a few comments about MY situation in response to other bride’s reviews. Susan emailed me more than once asking me not to do that and that she would appreciate everyone staying out of everyone else’s business. Finally, as promised we got our album this June. She included 2 extra albums and 5 large portraits for us as well. They are all beautiful. Her work is wonderful; however our experience with her was not. I have had several brides contact me with similar stories. I would encourage anyone looking to work with her to check out her BBB reviews. Great photography, terrible business/professionalism.

We can't say enough how pretty our pictures have been!! Susan took over 400 for engagement, 600 for bridals and on her camera at the wedding over 2000. She has given us a sneak peek of the wedding and we can't wait to see them! She has been a pleasure to work with and we would recommend her to our friends.

This has really been on my heart to write what I have experienced with Susan thus far. I know we have not made it to the wedding yet, but I just have to share. We hired Susan after our consultation with her, not just because of her talent and her willingness to work with us to get what we need, but because of her heart. My dad passed away the month before I got engaged and have sense experienced the loss of two more people and of my pet. We sat with Susan at our consultation and talked business, but soon the conversation turned person and as she sat across the table listening to what I was sharing, her eyes filled with tears. I have never known someone who could not just understand someone else's grief but could feel deeply for them. Through this whole process, Susan has been attentive and so kind and helpful. Planning a wedding when your dad has recently passed away is a very daunting and painful thing to do. Susan has not only been flexible with rearranging session appointments, but she has been a constant source of encouragement to get me to my wedding day and to have a wedding celebration that my daddy would want me to have. I am so thankful that she is who we chose to go with, because there are so many moments that my life has been blessed just by knowing her.

My fiance and I have really enjoyed getting to know Susan and we have come to truly appreciate her creative ability. We completed our engagements with her and have loved the results! Trying to pick a handful of images for our guest book is difficult... which is a good thing as we have liked all 700 photographs! In addition, Susan went above and beyond at the wedding. She arrived two hours earlier than normal in order to capture bridals and sweet moments with bridesmaids, groomsmen, and family members. She was very excited efficient and managed to capture over 5000 photos from the day of the wedding. I am excited to see the final results. Susan does a wonderful job communicating with her brides within one or two days of a text and I look forward to future photography sessions with her!

Susan is amazing at what she does! She has an eye for creativity and what you think may look awkward, actually turns out amazing! My fiancé was not sure about a few poses, but once we got a sneak peek at them on her camera, we saw how amazing they turned out! That's one of the perks to hiring Susan as your photographer; she will show you your pictures as you go along throughout your photo shoot, so you can make sure you're getting all the pictures you're wanting. On top of being a great photographer, Susan has a contagious and joyful spirit. You can tell she loves what she does and truly cares about those she is workig with. She even stepped up for us when a woman accused my dog of using the bathroom and us not cleaning it up, when that was not the case at all! She is not afraid to speak up for you, which is great when you're shy and timid like myself! If you want a photographer who not only does amazing work, but also cares about the people she is taking pictures of, Susan is your best fit! I am so sad she will not be able to do our wedding photos since she already had a wedding the same day, but I know our engagement photos are going to turn out amazing!

First impressions, Susan appears very sincere and kind. Taking out of the equation her lack of punctuality, you leave the initial meet and greet with no reason to doubt her professionalism. The nightmare begins once you ask to see the finished product, i.e. edited photos and/ or albums. Overall, collaborating with Susan was extremely laborious. She was late to our initial meeting, engagement shoot, and my boudoir shoot. When the wedding concluded, Susan displayed behaviors and a lack of follow through as if her contracted services were finished. Contacting Susan by phone call becomes nonexistent and text messages are often returned with multi-day delayed responses. Only exception is when she responds with abrupt and bad-mannered messages filled with anger. My initial wedding photos were promised within 6 - 10 wks, but were delivered after 3 mos. My wedding album was promised within 10 wks from selecting the desired images. The wedding album should have been completed by the end of 2016 at the very latest, however it has yet to be delivered or even processed. Today officially marks 1 yr since my wedding. I've contacted Susan's vendor, MpixPRO, they stated orders take 24-48 hours to print and are overnighted. Susan knows no level of any accountability, she fills every empty promise regarding my wedding album with excuses and delays refusing to accept any fault. One excuse was simply not having enough funds even after I paid in advance. I'm just a bride that wants her album.

If I could put more stars on this review, I would! Susan was by far our most favorite vendor! She was beyond talented, artistic, passionate, professional, responsive, super fun, and most importantly, she made us SHINE through her camera. I had a very specific photography style that I was looking for and Susan had it. I was 100% satisfied and would HIGHLY recommend her! Susan has gained us as lifelong clients and we'll be using her for our future life milestones. We loved her and her spirit so very much! Thank you Susan for an AWESOME photography experience with you and your team.

Just had my first shoot with Susan and I couldn't be more impressed! Not only did she come to the shoot the day after having surgery with a big smile, but she made me and my fiancé (who are awkward at being photographed) have a blast AND the pictures turned out AMAZING! Then she sent me a sneak peak when we left because she was just as excited for us as we were for ourselves! I can't wait for my next shoot and our wedding because if the engagement shoot went that well I know the wedding will be even better!

My fiancé and I were looking for a photographer to take our pictures at my brothers' farm in Texas (we live in Arizona), and I stumbled upon Susan's site here on The Knot. Not only did I fall in love with her work, but with her spunky personality as well. Susan is an absolute gem! A rare find these days. She truly cares about her clients, and has become more of a friend than a photographer that we hired. We had a BLAST taking our engagement pictures with her. She was flexible with the crazy Texas weather we experienced, and the pictures were ready to view within the week that we took them. We have too many favorites, we can't decide which ones to put up! Susan is an incredibly talented and Godly woman, with a huge heart that I'd recommend to anyone. We loved her so much, we booked her for our wedding in Arizona (even before we took our engagement pictures). We can't wait for round two, Susan! We're so thankful that God put you in our lives. After searching through endless options for photographers and reading hundreds of reviews, I feel like I hit the jackpot with Susan! We recently had our engagement shoot with Susan, and truly enjoyed every second of it. My fiancé was less than excited about sitting and smiling for pictures for a couple of hours- but Susan made this very easy!! She made us laugh the ENTIRE time. She also made us feel extremely special. She set aside 2 hours for our photo shoot- and never rushed us. She ended up encouraging us to keep going for another hour (3 hours total of photos)! She is extremely talented and has a special eye for the photos every girl dreams of having in engagement pictures. We will be getting married this November and cannot wait to see the magic that Susan works on this special day! :)

Be very cautious and think before booking. Susan Gilbert currently has my pictures hostage. She has yet to complete what she was hired to do and contracted to do. She will not return my phone calls, messages, emails, or ect. in MONTHS!! It's been over a year I have been dealing with this... Its always one excuse after another. However she continues to do work before completing work she has already been paid for!! She also did not stay for my entire wedding, due to another wedding she found to be of greater priority. Instead her assistance stayed and the quality of pics were not great. Not to mention she still owes me a whole other photo session that was in our contract. I am very stress out and sad by this situation. Don't know where to go with this except to possibly a lawyer. Be very cautious, please!

We were very pleased with Susan. As the groom I was not looking forward to having to stand still and take a bunch of pictures. But Susan made the engagements a blast. I ended up having a really good time and liking all of the pictures - we had tons of good ones to choose from. And she made the mandatory wedding ceremony pictures as painless as possible. She has her system about how to get the large group shots done as quickly as possible so my bride and I could get on and enjoy the reception. Her and her assistant were great at the reception. Every time I looked they were taking pictures of details, guests and the dance floor. I can't wait to see the wedding photos as I know there will be so many to choose from! Susan is also very affordable which my wife and I really appreciated as we were trying to stick to a reasonable budget. She made us feel special as a couple and we enjoyed her very much!

Susan blew me away with her ability to capture the most fun moments! She has an eye for finding the most unique spots that photograph so beautifully. She coached us into poses that felt like us and that look FANTASTIC on camera AND she was able to keep my fiance intrigued and having fun during the entire shoot. She really has an amazing eye for capturing the emotions we felt as well as the scenery. All of her ideas looked great on camera and the shoot was a blast. She kept us laughing and energized the entire morning. Susan is able to capture the sweet, classic pictures, as well as unique personal photos that I could never dream of on my own! She has been easy to communicate with as well which I love. I have only seen a few clips of finalized photos and I am already obsessed with the art she has created for me and my fiance to hold onto forever. I am beyond excited to see all of the finalized photos and see what she is able to do with our wedding photos. Thank you, Susan. We love you!

When looking for a photographer for our big day I made sure to read every review on every website and when I found Susan, it was like hitting the jackpot. Me and my fiance are getting married this November and we recently had our engagement session with Susan, it was a BLAST. Not only is Susan an amazing photographer but she is also a great person with such a huge heart. She captured who me and my fiance are as a couple and as individuals which is very important to us. I could not be happier with our choice of photographer and I am so excited to have her as a guest at my wedding. She started off as our photographer but quickly became one of our friends. Susan is very professional, fun, energetic, loving and creative. We honestly could not have picked a better photographer!!

I do not recommend this photographer at all. She showed up late not only to our engagement photos, but she also showed up an hour and half late for the wedding. We had to pay in full up front and it has been a year and a half since my wedding and I have had a baby since then. I still have not received my USB proofs or wedding album. She has had one excuse after another why she has been unable to get me my pictures. I have constantly called, emailed and texted her and still nothing. The last time we spoke, she was going to have my pictures hand delivered by yesterday and that has not happened nor has she contacted me about why she did not have them sent. She has been completely unprofessional and if I could take it back, I would have definitely gone with a different photographer. My next step will be a letter from my lawyer, which it should not have gotten this far, but a year and a half after receiving her money in full is too long to wait.

Susan is such a blessing! She is an amazing person and even better photographer!! She was the first photographer I talked with and I was sold, she is that special and stands out! She makes you feel so comfortable taking pictures, and you are constantly laughing. She has the best personality! She always wants to make her photos unique and original! She is so creative! She is such a hard worker, and work around the clock…literally!! I could keep going on about how awesome she is! Can't wait to use her for all the big events in my life besides our wedding day!

Susan is a great photographer. She is very fun and spontaneous during the shots. She also works very hard to get all of pictures you wanted (or didn't know you wanted).

Susan is an amazing photographer but what more she is an even more amazing person. She has been very accommodating for us from the very beginning. We had the absolute joy of moving our wedding up 6 months in schedule...which is every photographer's nightmare. Susan accommodated us, and will be working through a national holiday to get her Bridals done. Thanks so much Susan!

Susan is a superstar!!!! She has a talented eye and can take gorgeous photos from any ordinary scene. She is so much fun to have as a photographer and she makes every photo shoot a total blast. On the day of the wedding she helped ease my nerves and was completely organized and structured on a timeline. Susan was the greatest photographer ever ! From our first meeting we knew she was the one! She is always full of energy and super hilarious and fun. All of our pictures came out amazing thanks to her skills! The day of the wedding she was such a great help as well. She did so much more than just take pictures but she also helped make my day go super smooth as well! I recommend her a million times!

Susan has been such a blessing throughout our engagement and during our wedding. She is a bubbly and fun personality that never lets the chaos get in the way of doing a wonderful job. We LOVE our beautiful guestbook and portrait that was displayed at the reception and we could not be more grateful for all of Susan's wedding expertise. Hopefully we'll have an occasion to work with her again in the future. :)

Susan is an awesome person, and an even better photographer. I am so glad my fiance and I chose her. She took amazing engagement photos. She asked us what WE wanted and what WE thought- versus telling us what to do, etc. I never imagined my engagement pictures would be so great. I recently took my bridal portraits. I was having SUCH a bad day prior to picture time. Susan did all she could to calm me and tell me every thing was going to be alright. She made me feel beautiful and the photos were AMAZING. I cannot believe how beautifully amazing these pictures were! She turned my day around and I realized everything would be okay. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done. Susan is an amazing photographer! She did such a great job on our engagement photos. She made us feel extremely comfortable and did a perfect job of capturing exactly what we were looking for! On a personal level, Susan is a kindhearted and driven person that will stop at nothing to make sure that her clients are happy, even if it doesn't have to do with photography. Susan Gilbert is an incredible photographer! We just recently had our engagement session with her! We were so comfortable the entire time. I have been VERY pleased with Susan throughout my wedding process. She has taken my engagements and bridals so far and what a fun experience both were! Susan has fabulous ideas of what makes a photo great, she loves props, and she loves animals - what a fun combination for wedding pictures! For my engagements - she spent several hours with me and my fiancé while we changed outfits and picture positions and we received over 450 photos to choose from! Same story for my bridals - she spent more than two hours with me while we made sure we got every shot and angle that we wanted before we were done with the shoot. What I like about Susan is when she is taking your pictures she is purely focused on you and your experience. And the results are incredible - she is very focused on details and lighting - and she knows exactly how to get them in the shot. Something I thought wouldn't look good in a photo ended up being one of the best shots of the day. Another thing about Susan is her customer service. When she heard that I was having issues with the venue coordinator at my venue she called the owner of the venue directly and explained that I was having a difficult time with one of the employees. The venue director reached out to me and agreed to meet personally with me so that all of my needs were taken care of. I was so thankful she took time out of her day to do that when she didn't have to. Finally - Susan is extremely reasonable priced which was the first thing I liked about her. I was very pleased with her package options (she has several). I felt like I had a lot to choose from and the fact that I got engagements, bridals, and wedding in one reasonably priced package was not something I saw with other photographers. I am getting married in a little over a month and can't wait to see how she photographs my wedding! Thanks Susan for all that you do to make a bride feel special!
