s to our special day, and how amazingly good she was at managing our wedding party and boisterous family. We wanted someone who knew how to capture the magic of our venue and not just take generic wedding portraits and Susan absolutely nailed it. Her pictures are dynamic and unique while still being classy and timeless. She caught EVERY detail of our wedding - the food, the rings, the little moments, the details from when we were getting dressed, the way our parents looked at each other - and still somehow found herself in the perfect spot to capture each big moment too. We hung lights on the ceiling of our venue to give ourselves a "sky full of stars" and she somehow used them to make each picture on the dance floor a dreamy, magical moment. We had over 30 family members for pictures on each side and she had them all marching in and out of shots quickly and efficiently, keeping what could have been a chaotic part of the day extremely organized. One of our nephews is extremely camera-shy, but we finally have pictures of him smiling because Susan found out he liked Pikachu and wore a Pikachu hat during portraits just to make sure he looked at her and smiled. It was TRULY a wedding miracle! We got every shot on our wedding list, which was meticulously planned with Susan, and even plenty of ones we didn't think of until we were in the moment. Our First Look photos were unreal. We also surprised our brothers by making them be our "Flower Boys", and Susan not only captured the moment in photos but also caught the moment we surprised them with the news AND got perfect video of them coming down the aisle. Her team's videography was amazing! They turned around a teaser video within a day and an eight minute wedding recap within two weeks! The video shots were incredible, the editing was perfect and the drone shots added just a little more specialness to a perfect day. The pictures were so amazing that one of the highlights of our honeymoon was sitting in the airport lounge waiting for our flight home and looking at the full set of pictures that she'd cleaned up and prepared for us - in less than two weeks!!! If you want someone who is an amazing photographer, organized, talented, unique, classy, timeless and, most importantly, an absolute boss when it comes to running your wedding photo shoot, book Susan Shek!!! We cannot recommend her highly enough.

work with. Her photos (wedding day + engagement shoot) were beautiful and our video was just as lovely. Her entire team is so talented and they were so fun to be around the entire day. I was nervous before getting the photos that they wouldn't be how I envisioned —  but it was exactly what I wanted! They showed our personalities, weren't stuffy or stiff or too posed, and captured our moments in a sweet and candid way. They even got our dog and baby nephew to cooperate for pictures too - truly magical! Her team was really good at managing difficult personalities (guests + vendors) as well as helping us navigate the chaos and disorganization during the day. A lot of the groom's family was running late for pictures, but we were still able to take all the ones we wanted at the end of the scheduled time — and filled in their original time with other beautiful photos. She also recommended a photobooth company and flower wall rental that were big hits as well. We got all our photos (photobooth + Susan's pictures) within a month of our wedding (we got sneak peeks a few days after)! Overall, I loved having Susan as part of our big day. We're obsessed with our pictures and look at them all the time (even though it's only been a month 😂 ). I would highly recommend her to any bride or anyone in need of a photographer — baby shower, engagement pictures or just because! I can't wait to work with Susan again for all our big life events!

I started following her on IG and in tandem we were interviewing several other photographers that were either travel photographers or based in Las Vegas (our wedding location). We weren’t quite sold, so we came to the conclusion that we wanted to proceed with Susan - for our engagement photos that is. Well those turned out so stunning, with family and friends gushing over the pictures, we were left with no choice but to see if she was available for our wedding date. Lucky for us she was and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. Not only do her and Harrison’s work speak for itself, but they are amazing people. We felt so comfortable with their style of shooting and they are so humble! If you need some direction and guidance on posing, they’re there. If you are having a special organic moment, they’re there (without you really noticing), if you found your friend on the dance floor and want a quick pic, they’re there. Literally everything we could’ve wanted captured was! Pictures were really high up on our list of importance and will just say it was worth every penny. I’m positive if we would’ve hired her and her team for videography we wouldn’t have been let down (our wedding venue came with a videographer already). n my hair on our way to church. We were in NYC and in most of my Central Park photos we look like we are the only people in the park. She was excellent at crowd management, getting the right people in the right photos, and capturing gorgeous shots. The architecture in church shines, the framing in the park, formal family shots at Tavern on the Green, the details of my painstaking planning were captured and the candids from a long night of dancing will be forever cherished. I am in love with everything I have seen and might be a touch obsessed. She had my sneak peak ready for me the same weekend as my wedding and I had 2000 edited images within the month and our video! Before the wedding she was a gem helping me with questions since I was planning from a distance. Always quick to answer and polite, I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

Così abbiamo fissato una chiamata e si è subito mostrata super gentilissima e disponibile, ha risposto a tutte le domande che avevamo e ci ha inviato un foglio da compilare che ad essere sincero ha aiutato anche noi a capire come le cose si sarebbero svolte in quel giorno. She sent us a sneak peak with almost 100 photos two days after and all of our wedding photos were sent to us less than 3 weeks later! We also are so happy we went with the photobooth provided by Susan's team as the photos were gorgeous and our guests loved it. When I reached out to Susan asking about hosting our wedding on zoom for guests that couldn’t show up, Susan’s response was “of course” and it was executed perfectly. During our wedding day shoot in Central Park, I was starving and really wanted a classic NYC pretzel from the stands in the park. Without any hesitation there was Susan handing us cash from her wallet to go purchase a pretzel. Need I say more? Susan not only knocks it out of the park on a personal level she is also incredibly professional. She comes EXTREMELY prepared with a whole lot of photography “stuff” (I am unfamiliar with appropriate terms). Basically .. Susan brought an entire carful of things to our venue (The Foundry in LIC) to make sure the photos came out perfectly. You can tell she truly thinks about when and where your wedding photos will be taken and brings all the necessary equipment for those locations and times of the day/evening. Susan’s turn around is like no other. I have received numerous texts from people saying how shocked they are that I already (the next day) have a handful professional wedding photo sneak peaks. Former brides have messaged me saying how jealous they are because they had to wait about 8 weeks for theirs! The email from Susan at 3:30AM after the night of my wedding saying, “Here are some sneak peaks!!!” just sums her up entirely. Don’t mistake this for her not putting effort into the editing of the photos… because they are flawless. She turned around my engagement photos wildly quick as well. I don’t think this lady sleeps! Harrison was an incredible person to have with us on our wedding day. My husband fell in love with him. He keeps things fun, he’s hysterical and both him and Susan know how to work a large crowd. He also did an incredible job at capturing all the moments and he’s an expert at making sure you’re positioned well in photos and that you’re looking good! Both Harrison and Susan will not hesitate to fix your hair, or guide you on how to walk so the photos come out well. Both Susan and Harrison really know how to work a large crowd. Family photos went flawlessly because Susan had her list prepared on her phone and just constantly shouted out who needed to step in next. It was quick and efficient.. Something I am incredibly grateful for! We did bridal photos later on in the evening… Yes once people were drunk. Susan and Harrison worked the drunk crowed amazing and captured the most incredible bridal party photos. It was something that many photographers could have found frustrating and overwhelming however Susan and Harrisons response at the end of it was, “that was so fun!” I am telling you this is the best wedding photographer duo there is.

Susan was responsive and positive and clear in all of her communications via email, phone, and text. The expectations, collaboration, and payment were clear and fair. She was totally on board with our idea to transform a portion of our apartment into a small event space for our Zoom wedding. The most important thing to us was someone who would respect our home and privacy and safety during the pandemic while still supplying the equipment we needed to get the resolution via Zoom that we wanted - and Susan absolutely did that and then some! She totally saved the day when I overlooked an important equipment detail. The ability for our family and friends to see us clearly on Zoom was our biggest need, and Susan was able to provide that so our guests could see our wedding details like flowers, cake, and dress, even via a screen and be part of our intimate ceremony. and the reception was held at the Park Savoy in Florham Park, NJ. I was googling photographers that have photographed in those locations and came across a video from Susan’s team. We were instantly drawn to it. It just seemed so fun to watch – she clearly was able to capture the vibe of the evening. I did a lot of research regarding photographers. To me, it was a major decision because the photographs/video are tangible memories that you will have forever. I wanted to make sure we hired the right person. We met with and spoke to so many photographers but none made us feel as comfortable as Susan. She was knowledgeable, professional and easy-going all at the same time. And, of course, her work is simply amazing. The pictures on her Instagram are simply stunning. She and her team exceeded our expectations. Susan was always responsive and informative (even after the wedding!) On the day of, she arrived on time and kept us organized. Susan is an empathetic human that cares to make sure EVERYTHING goes well on your big day, furthermore she has crafted a dream team that shares a smiliar ethos. 1) When we met for our engagement shoot in Dumbo, Brooklyn waterfront, she realized that I was having trouble parking and she made sure to go out of her way to find me secure, and nearby parking. 2) It rained during half of our big day, Susan and her team assured us with a smile that they will capture spectacular shots and kept us on schedule during a hectic day that was thrown off due to weather. Harrison (one of her team members) worked in sync with my best man to assure that I didn't have to life a finger for anything. The team arrived to my wife's room and mine early to get us going and captured impeccable behind the scenes moments that view like a movie. 3) Car service rescue... I had an issue getting from the hotel to the venue, without question Susan and her team were able to get me and a couple of buddies to the venue(early and in a well appointed luxury SUV). The impromptu help that her team provided didn't end there, Susan and team made sure that photos that were taken a few minutes away off venue were done on time in the pouring rain, her team went out of the way to keep the bridal shower dry. 4) By our standards we had a large wedding (200), it seems after going through hand selected photos from Susan and her team they were able to capture everyone candidly while we enjoyed the best night of our lives. 5) Harrison to the rescue--- Susan was doing a few last shots of us with another team member, Harrison saw that he could be of assistance and I witnessed him run from the balcony through the venue to the beautiful NYC skyline where they took some of our favorite photos. Susan truly knows how to take serene pictures regardless of the lighting or weather. Susan and her team emitted confidence and enjoyment regardless of how the day started for us. Susan Shek photography kept a smile while defying the odds. From the time we met Susan she has been a rockstar and still is, prompt follow up and extraordinary craftsmanship. r wedding at the Cayman Islands and the one thing I knew for certain was I couldn’t just settle for any photographer on the island, I knew I needed to hire the BEST and that we did. Susan’s professionalism was what initially drew me towards her. Upon our first meeting, Susan greeted us at the comfort of her own home and we expected it to quick and short. But, it was neither or. We immediately felt a connection with Susan. An encounter I expected to be no more than 30 mins was nearly 2 hours and I knew we just had to book her. For our engagement shoot, we told her we were hoping it would snow and Susan wanted to make it happen for us, so she was constantly eyeing the weather. Though it didn’t snow (due to my busy schedule) we still moved forward with the engagement shoot in the dead of winter and Susan was beyond incredible! She endured nearly 2 blistering hours in the frigid weather with us, not just snapping away but guiding and directing us to produce photos I never knew could exist! Not only is Susan an amazing photographer but she’s simply an amazing person at heart. To name a couple things: 1. Because we had our wedding on the Cayman Islands, Susan needed a work permit. And without any hesitation or complaints Susan went out of her way to get all the paperwork done to ensure she can be there for our big day. 2. Our wedding was held at the Ritz-Carlton and we had quite a few rooms blocked as our wedding was relatively large in my opinion (85 guest). My husband and I insisted that Susan book a room at the Ritz with our discounted code. However, Susan not only didn’t want to take away a room from our family but she booked at another hotel at a lower cost because she was being mindful of our wedding cost! (Most people would have taken advantage!) Fast forward to the week of our wedding, Susan, her husband and Fernando (our videographer!) travelled to the island early to capture clips for our video and to stake out the best places to take pictures on our wedding day … who does that?! I am in awe of her commitment and loyalty to all her couples! On our wedding day, I was nervous not because I was marrying the love of my life but because Susan was going to capture my ugly cries. But somehow, Susan was able to capture every beautiful moment and yes even my ugly crying face looked beautiful! The amount of amazing pictures captured was unbelievably impressive, as I sift through the photos every now and I then I still can’t believe Susan was able to capture those moments for us! Videography … where do I even begin … I didn’t care for this initially but my husband really wanted it. Susan knew instantly who would be able to make our wedding day look like a fairytale, Fernando! I spent countless hours looking up videos and there was one thing I knew I truly wanted for our wedding video, I wanted a cinematic wedding video. Funny thing is, I never once expressed this to Susan but I FULLY trusted her expertise and skills. Our wedding video was exactly what I envisioned! Captivating, emotional and CINEMATIC!!! John and I, cannot express just how grateful we are for all that you did for us! That is one of my favorite things about Susan - she is always so communicative, which given the complexity of a destination wedding, is a very important trait for a wedding photographer. We worked with Susan on two separate engagement photo shoots in addition to our wedding. We had a 2-year engagement, so we did one photoshoot each year leading up to the wedding. That wasn't our initial plan, but we absolutely loved the initial photoshoot so much so that we opted to do another one. It provided us with time to get to know each other which created a relaxed and trusted relationship with Susan and the whole picture taking process. Not only did Susan perform the expected wedding photographer tasks, but she went above and beyond by participating in discussions of the wedding venue, flowers, outfits, shoes, hair, etc. In fact, since my parents don't live in NYC, Susan offered to go wedding dress and veil shopping with me. She helped me pick out the most perfect Nantucket lace Mermaid style wedding dress and accompanying veil. Furthermore, leading up to our wedding weekend in Nantucket, Susan created a checklist to ensure everything was thought of in advance and nothing went un-noticed. This was incredibly helpful to me, as there were so many things I had to think through in the weeks leading up to the wedding. She also took the time to attend weekly calls with my wedding planner, and even met with my wedding planner upon arriving to Nantucket to review the planned pre-wedding and wedding day activities and associated photo location options. Her eye for best photo opportunity shots and the lighting given the time of day for specific locations was impressive. She is exceptionally gifted in seeing ordinary moments and turning them into extraordinary memories whether through her photos, videos or even Drone usage. Finally, we utilized Susan for videographer services for our wedding. We added this service later as an add on, thinking it might be a good idea and with some encouragement from Susan. Watching the finished video was mesmerizing. Throughout all the excitement of our wedding day, we realized that it was only by seeing it happen again in slow motion that we caught the details of that glorious day. I can easily say we’ve watched that wedding video over 100 times and have shared with all of our family and friends.
