Susie Peek

I had another cellist/violinist duo booked, one that my wedding venue had recommended. The cellist was a DU student and seemed easy enough to work with, although sometimes he would drop off the plant and wouldn't respond to e-mails for about a week. Then, a week before the wedding, he e-mailed to tell me that his schedule had "rapidly changed" and he was now unable to perform at our wedding. Not to worry though - he said his sister plays the viola and her viola was made by the same violin-maker who made his cello, so she could take his place. Ummm......crap!!! So after a brief freak-out, I was on the hunt for new ceremony musicians - ones who I could rely on to show up the day of the wedding! I was so worried I wouldn't be able to find anyone good on such short notice. One of my coworkers was helping me search for replacements and he sent me Susie's website. She has clips of her work on her site to give you an idea of what certain songs would sound like. I called her to see if she was available and unfortunately she had a prior commitment, but she was willing to work with me and reschedule her other obligation so that she could perform at our ceremony. I had previously decided on a cellist and a violinist (Susie plays the violin) and Susie said she would call her cellist to see if they were available. In the meantime, I kept listening to music clips on her website and discovered that I like the violin/harp duo even more than a violin/cello! I quickly called her back to see if she could schedule a harpist instead of a cellist and she said she would see if her harpist was available and luckily she was!! Susie was very helpful in selecting ceremony music songs and telling me which ones would sound best, etc. On the day of the wedding, everything was so crazy that I didn't have a chance to talk to her for more than a couple minutes before the ceremony, but everything turned out great! The violin/harp duo sounded amazing at our outdoor ceremony and I couldn't have been happier with the song selections. I am SO, SO grateful to Susie for agreeing to book our ceremony at the last minute and reworking her schedule to make it work. Not very many people would do that and I am so appreciative!! If I had it to do over again, I would have booked Susie from the start!!

Susie Peek is very easy to work with, knows many, many songs and best of all has played at weddings hundreds of times. You wont have any premature song endings or missed notes with her and her musicians. Communicates perfectly via email, making everything very easy. And, of course, the music sounds great.

We used a harp / violin duo and it was absolutely beautiful. They were talented and Susie was a real professional.
