Susie's Cakes are gorgeous. This vendor was included with our venue package and we were very excited to work with her. Her cakes taste amazing. With Covid restrictions in place we were able to still communicate efficiently virtually to help plan for our big day. We chose 2 types of cake: carrot cake option that has pineapples in it and thought it tasted great and the almond with strawberry preserves. Both options tasted great. We would highly recommend Susie's Cake and Confections for your special event.

Susie's Cakes are AMAZING!! Our wedding cake was included in our package at The Houstonian Hotel and it turned out beautiful with fresh flowers in between each tier! We also had Susie bake our groom's cake which also turned out great. She was a joy to work with in designing our two cakes and she bakes the best wedding cake I've ever had! We cannot wait to come back for our anniversary cake. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make our wedding happen. Thank you!!

Susie with Susie’s Cakes made both our wedding and groom’s cake exactly as planned, delivering during a tight flip window, and with rave reviews from all our guests. No need to worry with Susie! We had a tasting of most her cake flavors (missing a few as she only served fresh cake even in the tasting) and we were sold. She didn’t nickel and dime us like a main competitor did on a quote. The groom’s cake was a redfish which she recreated very close to live and as big as a keeper! She worked with our florist who provided flowers for the wedding cake. She is extremely detail oriented and I would recommend her and her team to anyone. Thanks Susie!

I loved my wedding cake from Susie's Cakes & Confections! It was a pleasure working with Susie and she was able to customize her flavor - I chose her signature white almond flavor and wanted to add raspberry filling, which she did, and it was to DIE for! I got rave reviews about how delicious my wedding cake was. It was not dry at all. It was moist and had such great flavor. Not only was the cake absolutely delicious, she designed my cake EXACTLY the way I wanted. I showed her a series of Pinterest pictures of cakes I liked and we settled on a 3-tier gold/blush cake with flowers. She matched the photo flawlessly and I depended on her design aesthetic as to what would look good based on my color palette and it turned out to be the most beautiful cake; I wouldn't have changed one thing. I was so impressed with her design and flavors that I'm going back for a birthday cake! She's worth booking an appointment with and going to for a tasting.

WOW! What an amazing cake!! When we met with Susie I only had a vision of what I wanted my cake to look like, and she was able to take that vision and turn it into a reality. It had 4 layers, detail accents, and rhinestones on her incredible horse-drawn cake stand. I went with the white almond and buttercream icing, and it was absolutely delicious. We also purchased the groom's cake and she was able to create a Batman theme (including Gotham and a light-up logo!) on red velvet with cream cheese icing. Hands down the best cake I have EVER had!

Our cake was incredibly beautiful and delicious! When Susie met with us she listened to our ideas and helped create a gorgeous custom cake unlike any we had seen before. One of my guests told me it was the most moist and flavorful wedding cake they had ever tasted (including her own from her wedding!).

I had my wedding reception at the Houstonian, and our wedding cake from Susie's Cakes was included in the package. After the cake tasting, we ended up purchasing a grooms cake as well since all of the flavors were so yummy. The wedding cake was the traditional white almond cake with buttercream, and it was seriously amazing. All of our guests were raving about how good the cake was, and I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that my husband and I ate the top tier of our cake within a week (couldn't resist!). Our grooms cake was chocolate ganache with our collegiate logo, and it turned out very nicely. I would recommend Susie's Cakes to any Houston bride!

Susie's cakes are delicious and beautiful. I had one of her cakes 10 years ago at a wedding and always knew I wanted her to do my cake when I got married.

The staff was very professional cake designers! It was amazing and they customized everything the way that I wanted it. Taste was more important to me than the look of the cake, but with Susie's Cakes, I didn't have to compromise either one. They knew my budget and made suggestions on ways to make the cake cheaper. they were amazing and I highly recommend them!

Susie did an amazing job with our cake! Not only was it beautiful it tasted great. I can't wait until our anniversary so that we can eat it again and I don't normally like wedding cake. Susie did an AMAZING job on my wedding cake. I was so sad to cut the cake just because of how beautiful and perfect it was. She made exactly what I envisioned. I can't even begin to count how many compliments I got on how the cake tasted. Several of my friends raved that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had...even better than their own. The Almond cake was a definite win. Susie even made us a duplicate top tier for us to save for our 1 year anniversary free. I highly recommend Susie and her perfect cakes!

Susie's Cakes did an amazing job on our wedding cakes, there were sooo yummy and beautiful. We went to 3 other cakes places when deciding who to pick and Susie's was by far the best!!!! Her cakes just tasted so much better than the rest and she is a perfectionist, so she will not give you a cake she is not proud of. I would definitely recommend her to to any bride and groom =]

Susie's Cakes & Confections did an incredible job for our cakes! The brides cake was beautiful, unique and timeless. She did everything I wanted, used our cake topper and it turned out exquisite! The grooms cake totally stole the show!!! She replicated The University of Texas at Austin's famous Darrell K. Royal's Stadium. It was fantastic! People stopped and with jaw dropping expressions all night. Everyone was buzzing about it. To make it even better, they tasted fantastic! So delicious. I am very thankful we used Susie's Cakes and Confections. Hook 'em!

My husband's family has been going to Susie's Cakes for years so there was no question who we would go to for our wedding cake. Having never been there before, all I can say about our wedding cake is WOW. Besides being absolutely beautiful, Susie makes a cake that you just can't help but taking seconds of! We went home with just one tin of cake leftover from the wedding and literally our entire bridal party came over the next day for more cake! Susie's Cakes is a true find and you will NOT be let down!

Susie is awesome! She met with us personally and helped us design our cakes. I had questions about our design after the meeting and she took time to speak with me on the phone to clarify. She was able to match our monogram from our napkins & program perfectly on the cake. High quality - Definitely recommend!

My cake was so delicious. As soon as I took my first bite at my cake tasting with Susie, I knew that she would be my wedding cake vendor. My guests raved about my cake! And it was beautiful...you should definitely taste her cakes before making your decision. I don't even love desserts but even I knew it was a great cake (my friend who lives on desserts agreed, lol).

From the cake tasting to the wedding day, Susie met and exceeded all of our expectations. When we could not decide between flavors- she suggested combining them- which turned out to be delicious. When the cake was smaller than we wanted - she suggested a pedestal. Her creativity and flexibility was extremely helpful- and the cake was delicious and gorgeous.

Susie is so sweet and met with us a few months before the wedding! She listened to our ideas and all her cakes were amazing to try! It was hard to choose one flavor! The cake looked so beautiful at our reception and guest raved about how good it was!

Susie is hilarious and was so great during our consultation. Everything I wanted was perfect and everyone I talked to said it was the best cake they'd ever tasted! She even helped me plan a surprise groom's cake for my husband. I cannot wait for our one year anniversary to get to eat more!

Susie makes the best wedding cakes. Many people at our wedding told us that our wedding cake was the best wedding cake they have ever had. She understood exactly how we wanted our cake to look like and we were very pleased when we saw the cake the day of our wedding. It was beautiful and photographed very well!

I wasn't sure what I wanted my cake to look like, but Susie was very helpful in the brainstorming process. She did a gorgeous job with my cake, and the groom's cake was stunning, as well. His cake was dark chocolate with truffles on top and the dark chocolate was the real deal -- not overly sweet but definitely rich. Mine had a stripe of lemon icing inside, but she has several options available. (I definitely loved the tasting session!) I don't have anything else to compare her to because my reception venue included her services in their package, but we were happy with the results.

I still have guests calling me to tell me how fabulous my wedding cake was! Susie's cakes are so moist and tasty. My cake was almond flavored with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. It was decorated beautifully and the cake was amazing. She is very affordable and worth it!!

My cake could not have been better! It was amazing both in look and taste! The cost of the cake was included in the package I had from my venue.

Susie made our amaretto cake with raspberry filling and it was seriously the best wedding cake we have ever tasted - SOOOOO MOIST, not overly sweet and a great combination of flavors! So many of our guests told us afterwards how it was the best wedding cake they've had. Many of them had seconds!! Susie was very professional and timely with everything. There was nothing I had to worry about. I requested a lace decoration to go with my dress and decor and she executed it PERFECTLY. I would highly highly recommend Susie's Cakes!!

Susie is the owner and she works with you directly. I loved working with Susie, from the first meeting to the day of! Her cakes are the best I have tasted in Houston. If you want a cake that not only looks good but tastes good, Susie is it!

Susie makes beautiful cakes but she is unresponsive because of her busy schedule which will spike the stress level of any bride during the last month before her wedding. She also wanted ME to prepare and provide the ribbon for the cake...I’ve never heard of such a thing! Only because she is the Houstonian’s preferred baker doesn’t entitle her to be difficult to work with. The Houstonian was very apologetic for her attitude and more than made it up to us. Oh, and be prepared for a guilt trip when ordering your anniversary cake…she will be unhappy if your cake is a different flavor than the cake batter batch she is preparing during that time. The cake was beautiful but the flavor was not memorable at all…not worth the time or the stress.

We LOVED Susie! She was so easy to work with. The cakes looked beautiful; she took what we described and made them even better. The most important thing is the cakes tasted awesome!!! I went to several bakers before deciding on Susie - she definitely has the best tasting cakes!!! We even ate some after our honeymoon a week later and it was still moist!!!

I loved my cake from Susie's cakes. We had a three tier buttercream almond cake with rasberry filling. It was to die for! We paid extra for a large sugar bow - just beautiful.

Susie's Cakes was the best choice for wedding cake! From the start, Susie was professional and great to work with. At the tasting, she had her cakes readily available to try and they were all delicious. A wedding planner referred me to her and said it was the best cake she'd ever had. Of course, I didn't know if that was an exaggeration or not. After trying her cake, it seriously was the best cake I've ever had. We wanted to go the cupcake route and I'm so glad we did! We had vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with a mini cake on top. Each cupcake had fondant hearts on top. They were so cute and delish! Susie picked up the phone every time we called her bakery (totalling 3-4 times during the planning process) and was direct with her information. The cupcakes seemed pricey ($750 for 150), however, it was definitely worth it after everyone at the wedding couldn't stop raving about how good it was. I even had a bridesmaid text me today (a week after the wedding) wanting a reminder about which bakery we went through. You will not go wrong with Susie's cakes. I have nothing but great things to say about working with her for our big day!

Everything about Susie's Cakes was perfect! Susie is adorable and so easy to work with. I didn't really know what I wanted, but she helped us find the perfect cakes. On the day of, they looked incredible!!! The bride's cake and groom's cake were both perfect!

The cakes were perfect. The wedding cake was exactly what I'd imagined, and tasted amazing with a very simple white cream cake and buttercream icing. The groom's cake was a fantastic electrical circuit board in delicious double milk chocolate. Gorgeous, delicious, and a freezer full of leftovers! What more can you ask for?

Susie is known as "the best" for a reason. She is the preferred "culinary cake artist" for The Houstonian and many other venues. Susie is a perfectionist and it shows. She meets with you as often as she needs to make sure your visions are met. The wedding cake was simple and elegant like I wanted. Plus the almond cake and white chocolate cake in the different tiers was yummy! The groom's cake was a crawfish pot turned on its side with crawfish, potatoes, corn, etc. spilling out. It looked absolutely awesome!! We look forward to working with Susie for future cake needs and especially look forward to our mini cake for our one year anniversary. :)

Susie did a fantastic job on our cakes. They were delicious and I have heard tons of compliments on them. All of the detailing was perfect and you can tell that she loves what she does!

Susie's Cakes is wonderful!! She was very flexible when we made our appointment and did not rush us while we were making our decissions. The cake was excellent and she had a wide variety of flavors. I would highly reccomend Susie's Cakes!!!

Bottom line: Susie's cakes are the best. She's direct, efficient in helping you with the selection process, and followed through perfectly. Our cake was beautiful AND delicious.

She has great tasting cakes. We would have ordered from her if only she had a few more minutes to answer my questions. I feel I am entitled to having my questions answered before placing an over $500 order. Since I felt so rushed at Susie's, we went with Julie's Cakes instead and were thrilled that we did!

We got both our bride's and groom's cakes from Susie's. The chocolate groom's cake was a bit dry, which was disappointing since it definitely wasn't at the tasting, but still seemed to go over well at the reception. The bride's cake was- without a doubt- the best cake I've ever tasted. We selected an almond flavored cake with butter cream icing and it was so unbelievably moist and rich! We're still getting rave reviews from guests.

The cakes at Susie's Cakes taste great. We had a great experience while tasting and plenty of photos to look at with good ideas if you didnt already have some in mind. She definitely knows what she is doing since shes been in business so long. The only issue I had with Susie is that 5 days before the wedding (the cakes are not even made yet) I called to ask her to leave off the filling for the grooms cake. She told me NO! That she will not make any changes this far along. I thought, well this is my cake and we are paying you! She ended up calling me back later and had a change of heart I suppose. Also, I they were supposed to monogram the cake and at the reception we noticed it was missing. Bummer. For someone who is such as stickler on her clients she should be more of a stickler on the final product.

Susie did an amazing job with our cake. I came in with a specific design in mind and she nailed it. Her cakes are moist and delicious. Her prices were much better then many of the other cake vendors we met with and that were recommended from the Knot. And the options for the cake stand were great. We loved working with her.

Susie like a true artist was not the easiest person to deal with...but let me just tell you put your OCD aside and trust her to do amazing work. We hired her to do our wedding and a grooms cake (Duke Coach K basketball court), and let me tell you that both came out incredible! Particularly the groom's cake which had so much detail and looked like a perfect rendition of the real thing. My husband and I both went to Duke and Duke basketball has been a large part of our lives together, so it was amazing to be able to have it be part of our wedding day. Also it turned out to be perfect timing as our dear blue devils were in Houston the weekend we got married playing in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 and went on to win the championship. I should also mention that both cakes were delicious!

Both our wedding cake and groom's cake were delicious and beautifully done. Our wedding cake was elegant, and the groom's cake was exactly what we had envisioned (it was a runway that we had a model airplane on).

My grooms cake looked and tasted AMAZING! Everyone is still talking about it. The main cake tasted great and was pretty but the top tier was put on slightly crooked, you can really tell in the pictures which is a little sad. The cakes were also brought to the venue late, so unfortunately they were seen being carried in by all of my guest which I did not like. Susie was hard to get ahold of in the months leading up to my wedding and seemed to have her paperwork confused most of the time. She also lost the record of one of our payments so we had to get a copy of the check from the bank so that she knew we had paid. Susie was very nice and makes fabulous cakes but she needs an office manager, I think that her buisness has simply gotten to big for her to handle alone while baking as well. She was un-organized and I felt nervous about my cakes even on my wedding day because I didn't feel that she was reliable. But again the cakes were sooo yummy and pretty. The prices are also on the high side.

Susie was great from choosing a cake to designing a custom mold. She spent so much time designing the Aggie Ring that went on the top of the groom's cake. It looked amazing we got so many compliments. It was by far the best A&M cake I've ever seen. And the bridal cake was amazing as well. It was beautifully piped and decorated with flowers. They tasted as great as they looked. I would definately recommend her for any event. I've had her cake at another wedding and a baby shower and they were all amazing.
