About this vendor
At Sustainable Soirées, we approach wedding planning with intention, structure, and a deep commitment to creating an experience that feels seamless from beginning to end.
Based in Chicago, we provide full-service planning and design for both local and destination weddings, guiding our clients through every decision with clarity and steady direction so nothing feels rushed, reactive, or uncertain.
Our work is rooted in preparation. From the earliest stages of planning through the final moments of a wedding weekend, we manage the details our clients shouldn’t have to carry—overseeing logistics, vendor collaboration, design, and execution—so the celebration can unfold effortlessly while they remain fully present.
For destination weddings, our approach is further shaped by a background in luxury travel planning and direct collaboration with international hotel teams. This allows us to consider not only the event itself, but the full guest experience—how people arrive, move through a property, and experience each moment across a multi-day celebration.
We carefully guide the flow of the weekend, from welcome gatherings through the wedding day and beyond, ensuring every element feels cohesive, thoughtful, and well supported.
We take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure every celebration receives the level of attention, preparation, and care it deserves.

TL:DR; We do NOT recommend hiring this company.
We don't understand how this vendor has such high ratings. Our experience with them was terrible – for us, there was no commitment ...
to attention to detail, serious miscommunication problems, and a total lack of understanding of the sentiment we wanted to impart to our guests.
We fired them after four months, hoping time working together and more communication would help improve a rocky start, but things never got better. Plus, after paying for the full-service wedding package, they refused to pay back even a cent of our security deposit!
Here are some of the things we dealt with when working with Sustainable Soirees...
> We almost lost our preferred photographer because our planner told the photographer the wrong wedding date
> We were asked by a potential caterer if we "still needed a nut-, gluten- and dairy-free menu", which they said was an instruction from our planner. We never insisted on this, as only 3 expected guests and the bride have food allergies that can easily be accommodated
> The mother of the groom, who DOES have allergies, had them listed by our planner as "personal preferences", and the "preferences" written down were incorrect
> Our planner came with us to a venue tour and took some photos on their phone. When we emailed them for the photos, they never responded to us
> Our first draft of our contract was missing the section explaining the duties of the company in more detail. We had to ask for that to be put in so we could read it
> It felt, at many times, like they were planning someone else's wedding. For example, near the end, our planner asked us for design inspiration, so we sent them a Pinterest collage that was "vintage garden party"-inspired; lots of colorful flowers, rustic table-scapes, many snapshots of smiling people, hand-drawn stationary, etc. TWO WEEKS LATER, our planner replied with their interpretation of our collage.... It seemed to be made of AI-generated images and captions that in no way matched our collage – the new images were cold, stark, white, and possessed no flowers or people. Instead, the images had a bunch of branches with buds barely coming out. This proved to be the last straw after a long line of other miscues, such as...
1. Surprise and confusion when my partner and I said we didn't want "Getting ready" photos,
2. Insistence from our planner to take said photos, along with staged photos of table scapes (which we don't want),
3. Asking us 3 separate times if we wanted our pets involved in the wedding (we don't),
4. Forgetting that our ceremony was taking place at our church and NOT at the reception venue,
5. Asking us about less-important details like color palettes, flower preferences, and the exact time of our ceremony when vital logistical elements seemed to take a back seat (e.g., guest transportation, hotel blocks, Welcome Party venues, music vendors, alcohol vendors, etc.)
We cannot make ourselves more clear; this company did not help us. We got more lined up for ourselves contacting vendors in two days than we could expect to do in a month working with Sustainable Soirees. We do NOT recommend them.
Grace was absolutely incredible leading up to and on the day of our wedding. From the very beginning, she was so organized, prepared, and proactive. All of our vendors even comment...
ed on how impressed they were with the detailed questions she asked and how smoothly everything was coordinated.
When our original rehearsal dinner venue unexpectedly fell through, Grace immediately stepped in and quickly found us a replacement, taking so much stress off our shoulders. On the wedding day, Grace and Alanna were beyond attentive and truly had everything handled. Our shuttle bus arrived late, and before I even had to think about it, they had already worked out a refund with the company for us. They passed out all of our vendor tips, kept the entire day running seamlessly, and even charged my phone when they noticed it was about to die.
I genuinely could not have survived the day without Grace and Alanna. They allowed us to be fully present and enjoy every moment knowing everything was under control. We are so incredibly grateful for everything they did and cannot recommend them enough!

ut good things to say. As we hired additional vendors, everyone raved about Bristol when we told them she was our planner. They remarked on her organization and cheerful attitude and how they loved working wedding where she was in charge. We were mentally prepared for something to go wrong on our wedding night, but everything ran so smoothly thanks to Bristol and her team. She made the entire process stress free and as a very type-A couple I never felt that I was working harder than she was in the planning.
Bristol gave us lots of organization tools to get started in planning, vendor recommendations, and was someone to bounce questions off of which gave us peace of mind. She also made sure we weren't missing anything and helped us know the timeline for different steps of the planning process. 3 months out she completely took over vendor communications while keeping us in the loop and helped with so much more than we probably even know the week and day of. We especially appreciated her help moving and setting up the decor we had bought for the wedding. She has been incredibly kind even after our wedding and even helped us book hotels for our honeymoon (and secured us free breakfast!). If you're planning a wedding in Chicago, book Bristol!

wedding and had nothing but good things to say! We hired Bristol as a day-of coordinator to help us keep the day running smoothly. Bristol did so much more than that! As we had booked and planned most of our wedding ourselves, Bristol helped with the final details and meetings by helping to plan them and also helping us with asking questions that we didn’t know to ask. It made the end of our engagement and wedding planning journey so much smoother than it would’ve been if we had done it ourselves. She also helped to make sure that the vendors and everyone were coordinated and knew where they needed to go. It allowed us to be able to take a step back and just enjoy our wedding day instead of fielding lots of questions or trying to be in two places at once. Bristol is an absolute gem and I highly recommend everyone to use her for your big day!
Partnering with Bristol was truly a highlight of our wedding journey. From our very first conversation, her calm, caring, and organized energy made even the tightest timeline feel ...
possible. She took the time to truly hear our story, grasped the vision we dreamed of, and transformed it into a celebration that felt deeply personal, thoughtfully crafted, and stunning in every detail.
Despite our limited time, her communication was always thoughtful, proactive, and reassuring. The structure, planning tools, and steady guidance she offered transformed what could have been a whirlwind into a smooth, clear, and even joyful experience.
Everyone warns that something will go awry on your wedding day, but with Bristol orchestrating every detail, our celebration was flawless. Every moment unfolded effortlessly, thanks to her behind-the-scenes mastery over every vendor, timeline, and transition.
If you are searching for someone who brings genuine warmth, professionalism, and an eye for every detail to your wedding, Bristol is truly exceptional. We are deeply grateful for her and recommend her wholeheartedly.

Bristol was awesome to work with! From the very beginning, she made the entire wedding planning process feel seamless, even when we were living abroad and needed to choose a venue ...
from afar. She was incredibly organized, always available to talk things through, and guided us through every decision with patience and insight.
One of the biggest highlights was the amazing network of vendors she connected us with. Each one was outstanding and truly elevated our wedding experience (we received many compliments from guests on our vendors, most of which Bristol connected us with). Bristol listened carefully to our vision and went above and beyond to make sure everything reflected what we wanted. She struck the perfect balance between offering expert guidance and accommodating our preferences, which made us feel supported every step of the way.
Thanks to her professionalism, creativity, and dedication, our wedding day was everything we hoped for and more. We are so grateful!

ght the most calming energy - exactly what every couple needs during such a busy time.
Leading up to the big day, Bristol was incredibly helpful and proactive. As someone who is very Type A, I was immediately drawn to the detailed planning documents and tools she provided. They made every step of the process feel manageable and seamless, which allowed me to actually enjoy the planning rather than feel overwhelmed by it.
So many people told us before the wedding, “Something will go wrong, just go with it.” But thanks to Bristol, I can honestly say I can’t think of a single thing that went wrong. Everything went flawlessly, and the day was absolutely perfect in every way. We know that wouldn’t have been possible without her behind the scenes making it all happen.
If you're looking for someone who brings professionalism, warmth, and serious organization to your wedding planning journey, Bristol is the one. We are endlessly grateful for her and couldn’t recommend her more highly!

We did most of our own planning/vendor sourcing, so we went with the petite packages for our ceremony and reception.

upport, she was an absolute game changer. She brought a calming, reassuring energy throughout the process and especially on the big day—exactly what I needed.
Things will go wrong on a wedding day (as everyone says), but thanks to Bristol, I’m confident our guests never noticed a thing. She helped bring order to chaos and handled everything with such ease and professionalism. Her decor templates were super thorough and made it easy for her team to bring my vision to life seamlessly.
On the day of, Bristol was amazing. She new I wanted a private first look with my partner and amidst the chaos of family and friends hovering around our first look location she managed to politely, but efficiently, shoo everyone away. She put us as a couple first all day and made she we had everything we needed throughout the day - she really runs a tight ship!
Truly, my only regret is not having hired her for one of the full-service packages. I can’t imagine how much more peace of mind I would’ve had! If you’re even considering hiring Bristol—do it. You’ll be in the best hands!!
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hire a wedding coordinator. I went back and forth for a while and a friend of mine pointed out that on my wedding day, I’d want to be able to focus on ...
being in the moment and enjoying the experience, not on coordinating with vendors, solving last-minute problems, or dealing with emergencies.
Hiring Bristol made my day a BREEZE! Bristol was great from the beginning - she’s got a calm, cool, and collected demeanor, which put me at ease right away. She’s incredibly organized and communicative and was willing to help me with questions I had before she officially came on board for wedding-day coordinating, which starts 3 months before the event date.
Her expertise in this industry is invaluable. There were lots of places in the planning process where we had questions or got stuck and Bristol always had great suggestions for how we should proceed. She made sure she understood our vision and coordinated with all of our vendors to make sure the day was flawless. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!
We had a smaller wedding, with the intention of keeping it pretty simple so didn't feel that we needed full wedding planning service. But this being our first rodeo & a collective ...
history of procrastination, we hired Bristol from Sustainable Soirees as a consultant. We met with her every few weeks to help keep us on track & to be a resource & sound board for all our questions/comments/concerns/ideas/fears/etc. Literally all of it. She was such a huge help for us. Knowing what I do now, I'd likely have hired her for coordinating day of services, just because there's so much going on and to stay on top of, but we were otherwise really happy with our experience with her. We're lucky to have found her & to have had the pleasure of working with her!

ore and on the day of -- to minimize stress and make it so that we (and our family members) could enjoy our day without worrying about little details. She is extremely knowledgable and experienced about working with vendors in the area, which was so helpful with booking. She was also available and responsive far before our contracted start date (since we had booked day-of coordination) for any questions that arose. Her checklist that she sent 3 months out was immensely helpful in wrapping up details and making sure we didn't forget anything. She also did an excellent job behind the scenes communicating with vendors on our behalf. We truly could not have asked for a better coordinator, and we strongly recommend Bristol & her team to anyone looking for a wedding planner/coordinator!

ot of ideas and schedule details we had already generated, and she executed our plans perfectly! Prior to the wedding, she supplied us with several very helpful documents to complete regarding details we (as two highly organized people) hadn't even considered! She takes charge of situations gracefully in a low-key way that did not detract from the event, but rather added to the smooth flow of the day. Her communication is expedient and crystal clear. We could not possibly recommend Bristol enough to any couple who is looking for anything from heavy guidance on the planning and coordinating process, to light input and expert execution. Thank you, Bristol!!
Words can’t describe how grateful I am for finding Sustainable Soirres for the day of coordination on our special day. As someone a bit overwhelmed by planning big events. Bristol ...
was a lifesaver. She laid out all the steps and walked me through the process with some much knowledge and enthusiasm. Asking questions I never would have thought of myself. She really makes sure you think through every detail to make the day uniquely your own. On the day itself, she was cool as a cucumber and kept us to our timeline masterfully and offered such a peaceful energy. She was so prompt with communication and truly helped me stay on track with all my planning! I will recommending her and her wonderful team to all friends that are tying in the knot and are in need of such a thoughtful and kind wedding planner.
One of the first questions Bristol asked us was what we didn't like about the wedding planning process and the day of activities/schedule. That question revealed so much about Bris...
tol's professionalism, thoughtfulness, genuine curiosity, attentiveness and detailed approach to event planning.
We knew we wanted to hire her.
Beyond that, when we explained our needs and vision to Bristol, she was up for the challenge. It required communication and coordination across multiple locations and multi-faceted logistics, which were all executed beautifully.
Secondly, the team knew several of our sustainability-minded vendors, which was a huge plus for us, as it made coordination and communication easier. Even without those connections, the detailed documents provided helped us stay organized while giving the team the info they needed to ensure everything ran smoothly.
We appreciated Bristol's professionalism, creativity, flexibility and support throughout our wedding planning process. Her company's values aligned with ours, which we wanted to display through the various elements of our wedding. She brought it all to fruition and understood exactly where we were coming from.
Bristol helped us solidify the vision and execution of our "playfully elegant" theme, gave her honest and expert opinion when solicited, ran on schedule, and picked up, set up, and packed up all of the decor items we had. The team even sent us some of the photos they took of our venue and wedding day details.
We felt completely free to enjoy our wedding reception and are so glad we selected Sustainable Soirees. We would absolutely hire Bristol for future events and couldn't recommend Sustainable Soirees enough -- especially for those who care about the sustainability of their event.
Sustainable Soirees was an incredible partner for us during the planning and execution of our wedding. Bristol and her team worked hard to make sure the process was as painless as ...
possible while keeping us on-track and realistic. We particularly appreciated Bristol's design plan, which wound up influencing a wide variety of thematic elements and giving our concept some much-needed clarity. She also helped us locate several of our amazing (and eco-conscious!) vendors, some of whom we wouldn't have otherwise even known about. She was communicative and easy to reach throughout the process.
But perhaps most meaningfully, we appreciated her willingness to jump in and help us catch up. Since as a queer couple neither of us had been planning our wedding since childhood, there was a lot we didn't know, and her immense expertise and experience were invaluable to us.
Several of our guests said ours was one of the best weddings they'd ever attended, and (biased though we area) we'd have to agree. Bristol deserves the lion's share of credit for that.
Bristol and her team were phenomenal. We chose Sustainable Soirees over a handful of other vendors we had met with, as we liked her detailed, organized approach, and the profession...
alism she displayed on our first meeting.
We viewed Bristol as an ally in anything we needed leading up to our big day. She always felt present yet she did SO much work in the background, which led to a very organized day with our schedule and all of our vendors. We had the smoothest day because of the Sustainable Soirees team! Thankful for Bristol and Amanda's support leading into our wedding and on the day of.
Bristol was a lifesaver. We connected with her in the month before our wedding because things were starting to get overwhelming. She quickly acclimated to what we had already done ...
and was able to pull everything together. She's responsive, kind, and thoughtful. Definitely recommend her services!
Bristol was VERY helpful as our day of planner, and the day would not have come together as well and low stress without her. Thank you! Leading up to the wedding, Bristol provided ...
great resources to help us organize and plan. Day of, I didn't need to stress about any vendors thanks to her setting us up for success day of and running with all comms. One thing that was a MAJOR help was her taking the lead with our catering team on the event layout. With their expertise, I let them decide how everything would be setup, and I didn't have to think about it at all. (And, good thing I didn't have to think about it because I'm sure it would have taken me FOREVER.) Bristol was available, friendly, & helpful with all types of advice and perspective.
Bristol and her team were a dream to work with! We hired Bristol about a year before our wedding and honestly are so glad we did. She was so helpful in finding us the perfect venue...
even though I was dead set against a hotel she found us the perfect one for our wedding and it was a dream! I never once felt super overwhelmed or beyond stressed through out the entire process and even when I did Bristol was always willing to text or schedule a phone call with me asap to help ease my worries. 10/10 would recommended for any of your events!

ng frequently to respond to questions and to check in with us during the process. Bristol was very engaged with us, and sent reminders and questions to make sure we were on task with planning, and reminded us of small details that we often overlooked or did not consider since we've never planned a wedding before! I found her and the team to be responsible and calm on the day of, as well as cheerful to our guests and other vendors, and considerate of the venue and other folx working our event. Bristol and the team were respectful of our needs and wishes, and generous with their time to support us pre-wedding day. Everything went smoothly on the day of, and she and the team were available and hardworking from the start of the day through to the finale. We had such a pleasant experience working with Bristol and her team, that we hired them again to plan our anniversary party! They are incredibly resourceful and pleasant to work with, and we highly recommend Sustainable Soirees to plan your special day- they will make the process flow with ease so your day is magical, light, beautiful, and true to your vision.

ol was so easy to work with, very helpful and professional, contributed a ton of good ideas. She and her team set up our wedding venue with a really personal touch. We highly recommend Bristol and her team and will definitely refer our friends to her as well.
We couldn’t be more thrilled with how Bristol helped us plan and execute the wedding of our dreams. Over the last 12 months, Bristol has provided her planning expertise from venue ...
selection, giving excellent vendor recommendations, and turning our vague inspiration into a cohesive and gorgeous vision. Bristol was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had and also helped resolve any vendor issues that arose, all while remaining professional and pleasant. Planning a wedding is stressful and Bristol was a calming presence every step of the way. Working with Bristol gave us so much confidence that we were making the right decisions and we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out. Sustainability was important to us when planning our wedding. Sustainable Soirees is a member of the Green Wedding Alliance and helped connect us to other sustainably-minded vendors. A very warm thank you to Bristol and her team for all your hard work creating our special day. We would highly recommend Bristol and the team at Sustainable Soirees!

I found all of our vendors and was very satisfied until about 90 days before the big day. I started to get overwhelmed with day of coordination because I did not want any of my guests to have to set up or flip the venue (or tear down!). Bristol and her team took and listened to all of my requirements, concerns and visions and made them come alive! I was so nervous that everything would fall apart, but once I hired Bristol all of my fears went away! She was unbelievably organzed and asked all of the right questons. She asked for details I would have never even thought of, but am so glad she did! Our fall wedding last year has been talked about by all of our friends and our family still raves about that day. I have to give credit to Bristol and her team for this! Thank you a million times over. We would hire her in a heartbeat again.

the wedding. Bristol handled all the craziness of a COVID wedding with such ease that we felt at ease. She recommended the BEST vendors that completely made our day.
