Shawn and Kodi were absolutely wonderful to work with. They did our engagement pictures plus wedding day and videographer. They worked very well together and everyone was very comfortable around them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer or videographer. Our photos and videos came out beautifully and we will cherish the memories forever.

I could write a whole page about how amazing Shawn and Kodi are to work with but I will try to keep it short and sweet. They captured our destination wedding in Florida and the pictures/videos are absolutely breathtaking. Shawn has such a creative eye and they both make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Turnaround time was super quick too which we were obviously excited about! They are also two of the kindest people we’ve ever met and so easy to work with. I definitely recommend them for any wedding and will be sending everyone we know to them!

Our wedding weekend was surreal - it still seems like it was someone else's wedding, not ours. I can't thank Kodi, Joel & Andrea enough for helping make our wedding day PERFECT. I truly appreciated Kodi's militant directing (obviously my family needed that) & Joel was so great with the children. Kodi willingly stepped in as my "Coordinator" a few times, which was absolutely appreciated. All three were extremely helpful throughout the day and everybody that interacted with them has agreed. Booking Swander Photography & Video was one of the many great decisions we made when planning our wedding in 98 days. I researched every possible option & I could not have been happier with our decision to hire this team. Shawn photographed our mini Engagement shoot & once I saw those photos, I knew we had made the right decision. I am SO stinking excited to see the photos and video from our wedding!! Shawn & Kodi showed up early to plan and prepare. All day they really did a great job making me comfortable in front of the camera (which is not easy). They were very professional and have obviously done a lot of weddings we love candid photos and they were even able to get photos that look perfect from the video footage as well! Can't wait to hire them for family photos soon.

Our family completely fell in love with our photos and Shawn and Kodi. They were fun to work with and really kind people. The amount of work they put into the details of our wedding was beyond our wildest expectations.

I couldn't be happier with the quality of the service I got from Shawn and Kodi covering our wedding. These guys took care of everything we asked for and then some. They came to the wedding with a beautiful unexpected wedding gift that we LOVED. My husband has a background in video and even he was very impressed with how much work Shawn and Kodi put into the project. They have so much experience and that really comes in handy because they were by far our most helpful vendor. They helped us with a timeline that let us have a great time and still get all the photos we need. We wanted to select a lot of photos to have shot but our planner suggested we trust the photographer to use their creative eye to decide what photos to take. We are so glad we listened to them!

It's taken me a long time to write this review, as I have just been very upset with the quality of work that I received from this photographer on my wedding day. I am not the one to write reviews, especially not negative, but it's been over a year and I can't help but still feel that I received a half-ass job compared to work I have seen him do before and other photographers. They are very nice people, but I would recommend that you ensure you make it very clear what exact photos you want.

We hired Shawn almost two entire years ago and have been working with him to plan our wedding since. Due to COVID, we had to push out our wedding a lot longer than we originally had planned which is why we have also had the privilege to work with Shawn for as long as we have. Shawn was so flexible and accommodating to us while we rescheduled our wedding. Overall, Shawn is incredible and his photos are even more incredible! Shawn was awesome to work with, and even though it has been two years longer than planned he never once acted or treated us any differently. From the very beginning he has been available and flexible working with us. We did our engagement shoot with Shawn, which he so generously offered as free add on to our original package, and the photos were just as amazing as ever. Shawn listened to the style of photos we wanted, but also incorporated that into his own style. Shawn is very candid and in the moment when it comes to shooting, and my husband and I loved that. For our wedding day, Shawn was right on point awesome! He helped us ease into the day, always providing fun and humor, and took the most incredible of photos. He took care of everything so that my husband and I did not have to run around trying to find people/places for photos. He made it so easy and captured all the amazing moments of our wedding that meant the most to us. As a bonus, we received our wedding photos a lot sooner than we were expecting. We cannot say good enough things about Shawn and his photography and we hope to have the chance to work with him in the future. If you want a fun, personable, very talented, well-priced, and professional photographer then Shawn is your person!

Oh my--where to begin! I'll start by saying that Shawn and Kodi are incredible, and the photos are of equal caliber. Now to jump into the details... We were initially going to get married in Kansas City, but then we opted to get married to somewhere closer to us. I reached out to Shawn to let him know we weren't getting married in KC any longer, but he said they would be willing to travel to Savannah, GA to shoot our wedding. I was a little hesitant about using a photographer who wasn't from the area and not meeting them before the wedding (my husband wasn't up for engagement photos), but I loved their photos and knew we were in good hands with how responsive he was every time I reached out to him. They were great about working with us on the package, and we immediately felt a connection to him during our pre-wedding call. Shawn had great ideas about our "sparkler" photo timing and had great insight on the timeline. When we met Shawn and Kodi a couple weeks later at the rehearsal, we knew we had made the right decision based on their professionalism and the demeanor between the to of them. On the wedding day, Shawn showed up in a tuxedo to shoot and was the definition of professionalism. I knew he was incredibly talented the minute he started taking photos of our rings and other details, and I was blown away by how quickly he got through wedding party and family photos. (Either my family was on their best behavior or he was completely keeping them in line--going with the latter!) We had some ideas of where to shoot photos, but Shawn had the eye for where we should setup and how we should pose. I thought it would be awkward, but it was so much fun since he was great at giving instructions and kept us moving at a seemingly natural pace. Kodi served as the second shooter, and her energy was incredibly calming that day. She was an amazing support to Shawn (or so it appeared to us) and also to me--from reminding us when to bring flowers, coordinating timing details, making me feel at ease for being AN HOUR AND A HALF BEHIND SCHEDULE (Yikes!!!! All my fault, not theirs!), and so much more. Their ability to work as such a strong team was so wonderful to watch, and it enhanced the experience for me because they were able to play off each other's ideas and personalities to come up with the best shots and provide the most perfect experience. We are in the process of getting the photos back now, and I've been so blown away by everything they caught, their creative eye on some shots, and how they were able to make my husband and me feel so comfortable so we had "natural" smiles in the photos. I also love how they caught moments that may have seemed small at the time but are so precious now that I'm looking back on them. The only sad part of this process is that we don't get to hang with them again, as they were truly such a joy to be around and work with throughout the entire process. I cannot say enough positive things about Swander Photography and am so grateful I stumbled across them on the Knot! Please book them--you won't regret it!

We hired Shawn and Kodi for photography video and planning We were blown away by the images! We decided to spend a more than what a lot of our friends thought was average on our collection and we are so glad we did! They went above and beyond our expectations. Worth every penny.

I’ve researched several photographers, and Shawn was the best one I found that gives us the pictures and style we want for the price we can afford. I knew a few other couples that used him as well and had nothing but positive reviews to say. We got to know each other when he did our engagement pictures, which is included in his package. He covers the whole day with two photographers total. We were a little skeptical when Shawn asked if we would mind if two other photographers did our wedding as he had another engagement to attend to. However Jorge and Ryan stayed for the whole wedding and captured so many beautiful images. They got most of the photos we wanted and were very friendly, polite and easy to work with. I understand that not everything can be captured, but I have to admit I was disappointed that with two photographers, neither captured a shot of my husband seeing me walking down the aisle. A good chunk of the photos we got of us walking down the aisle weren’t the greatest either. That being said, we have plenty of great other images to make a good album out of it and he had the best bang for our buck. Shawn got us over 1000 images in a 3-week turnaround.

Kodi and Shawn are absolutely wonderful to work with! I could hardly wait for them to arrive on my wedding day. Everything was perfect! We even got a sneak peak right after the wedding! I felt so lucky to have had them photograph my husband and I. They are incredibly talented and passionate about what they do! I felt an instant connection with them when we first met, they are warm, friendly, and inviting. If you are looking for an incredible photographer and even better person look no further! Great photographer and videographer Shawn definitely under promised and over delivered!

Amazing photos and they covered everything with three people because they can capture photos from the video footage. We love how many belly laughs and candid photos we got that I don't think most photographers could have captured. Also the sound on our videos is much more clear than the video captured at other weddings I've been to.

Amazing from day one. They helped us with our wedding plans so we would get photos during the best time of the day. Very personal I like that it's not a huge company that just subcontracts all their work the owners are the ones doing all of the weddings hands on. They photos were BEAUTIFUL our friends are so excited.

Shawn and Kodi were wonderful and captured the memories from our wedding perfectly. They are able to take really high def videos and pull pictures out of them. The quality of the pictures is remarkable! It was so great to have one vendor to take care of the photos and video and their team was able to video all the moments we were hoping for. Shawn responded very quickly to all questions before and after the wedding. He showed up in a tuxedo at 9a and stayed until midnight. I couldn’t believe his dedication and the pictures are proof of his passion. I had all photos and multiple videos available to me within one month which is a great turn around for any photographer, especially considering this time frame included the Christmas holiday. I have smiled, laughed, and cried all 100 times I have watched my wedding video and I’m so grateful for Shawn’s incredible work. He is best choice for photography and videography for your wedding!! Shawn was WONDERFUL! He and his assistant were fantastic. Shawn and Angie were so great! There were times in the night that I completely forgot they were there. There were unobtrusive and understanding about some of the things that didn't quite go to plan. They tried as best they could to keep all of us on schedule, and did it in a way that was not pushy or rude. We both have large families and wrangling all of us together for photos is a challenge. I really appreciate that they were there and a part of our day.
