Owner and Pastry Chef Andrea Schulte has over 20 years of experience making stunning wedding cakes.
Sweet Butter Baking features specialty cake flavors that Andrea created for NM weddings, such as The Land of Enchantment Cake, NM Chocolate Decadence Cake, and New Mexico Champagne Cake. Please ask about these when you inquire. A few other popular cake flavor choices include Raspberries & Cream, Luscious Lemon, Vanilla Creme Brulee, and Honey Lavender.
All cakes are made using the highest-quality ingredients, most of them organic, non GMO, and free of seed oils. These delicious cakes are finished with Andrea's light, buttery Swiss Meringue Buttercream.
Sweet Butter Baking allows couples to create a custom cake or choose a cake style from their online cake shop. Design options can include classic & smooth, textured, vintage piping, painted & piped buttercream, rolled fondant, stencil overlay, or edible gold leaf for a contemporary aesthetic.
Sweet Butter Baking also offers Heart Shaped Biscochitos, French Macarons, Mini Pies, Raspberry Linzer Tarts, and Cupcakes perfect for a dessert bar.

As a classically trained Pastry Chef, I have been making wedding cakes for over 20 years. I’m here to make your wedding cake dreams into a reality. Celebrate and eat cake! I went to pastry school at Johnson & Wales University. Throughout my career I have worked as Pastry Chef in many hotels and resorts, as a private chef, catered special events, and owned the New Mexico Pie Company Bakery. I also teach Advanced Baking and Pastry Arts at a culinary school in New Mexico. My passion is to make your cake the most beautiful and the most delicious for your special day!

company was that all of the flavors had a connection to New Mexico. We ended up going with the honey lavender cake that was sourced from Los Poblanos in Albuquerque and added blackberries. We highly recommend booking a cake tasting as well, so that you can sample all of the delicious flavor options and be able to take the time to go over the design of the cake with Andrea, the owner of sweet butter baking. For our wedding cake, we gave Andrea inspiration based on our wedding theme and colors as well as the design used for our wedding website and through that, she was able to make the custom color palate and design. Andrea is extremely professional, precise, and makes sure all the details are correct before the big day. For instance, she gave helpful instructions on when best to cut the cake, how to cut the cake and thaw time to make sure the cake was ready to cut after the ceremony. Can't recommend Sweet Butter Baking enough!

Andrea's cakes are absolutely delicious! She provided our wedding cake and cupcakes in her chocolate raspberry and Land of Enchantment flavors, and did a beautiful job arranging the flowers I provided to fit my vision. I had multiple guests tell me that it was the best wedding cake they had ever eaten, and I agree. Choosing Andrea and Sweet Butter Baking was one of the best vendor decisions I made, and it was worth every penny! Would highly recommend!

She had so many delicious flavors that it was so tough to pick just one! We ended up picking one for a wedding cake and a second for my bridal shower. My bridal shower cake was stunning and perfect for an intimate shower! Everyone absolutely loved it! For my wedding cake, we came up with a design that was beautiful and then we decided to go in a different direction. Andrea was very patient and very accommodating with this decision. She absolutely captured the vision for my dream cake in every way possible! The cake turned out absolutely breathtaking! icking up or they were ghosting me! A friend of mine even offered to start reaching out to other people outside of the list and was experiencing the same treatment! Luckily, I stumbled upon Andrea at Sweet Butter Baking. She was super responsive and very thorough the entire process. So easy to work with! The tasting was amazing - my now husband and I are not big on sweets but even he was blown away by the cupcakes that we got to taste! We ended up going with her Land of Enchantment cake, we got mini cupcakes that she put a little of the biscochito cream inside, as well as heart-shaped biscochitos as little favors for our guests! All the cake and cupcakes were gone and I received nothing but compliments about the taste! I hope to get another cake from her when I'm in town, possibly to celebrate our anniversary :)
