Melisa was so very sweet and helpful! She was very responsive and organized. She made my vision of my wedding cake even better than I could imagine! Also, her cake sample platters are very cute and really help envision how your cake will taste and to mix and mach flavors. Her cakes are moist and very flavorful, everyone in my wedding loved the cake! I can’t wait to use her again, I need more of that cake!!

Melisa made the best desserts I’ve probably ever had. The desserts were gone by the time the dancing/partying even really started and we even over did the amounts to order for the number of guests we had!! She was an absolute pleasure to work with and designed the cake I had envisioned. Has down will be ordering all my sweets from her in the future!

The Sweet by Design cake was one of our very favorite parts of the wedding planning and the wedding! From inquiry to receiving tasting boxes to the day of, Melisa was a dream vendor to work with as she went out of her way to deliver the tasting boxes to us, took the time to plan out our vision and created the most beautiful cake for us. She was so easy to communicate with and made planning easy, including her sending tips on the tasting combinations and the cake table set up. All of the cakes and icings we tasted were incredible. It was nearly impossible to narrow it down to our final choice (champagne with almond buttercream). Every flavor was perfectly moist and flavorful. At the wedding, our cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious and we received so many compliments, especially for the unique, flavorful taste. I am so happy we chose to work with Melisa and I would absolutely recommend Sweet by Design to my friends and family!

From start to finish, Melisa was an absolute pleasure to work with! My husband and I began the cake tasting process right in the middle of COVID, so we knew that were not going to have the same experience that most brides and grooms get to have when choosing a cake vendor. My husband and I had tried two other cake bakers before we met Melissa and when we scheduled our tastings, the vendors would have us drive to their store, they would hand us a cling-wrapped plate with different cake flavors, and send us on our way to taste the cake at home. This was obviously not any fault to the vendors as they were trying to remain safe in the middle of a pandemic, but it still didn’t give us the cake tasting experience we had hoped to get. Our experience with Melisa was a complete 180! Despite everything going on with Covid, she still took the time to meet us outside at a local Starbucks to give us a great tasting! She brought multiple plates that consisted of various buttercream and sheet cake flavors. It was wonderful and the experience felt “normal”. Aside from her samples tasting absolutely delicious, the time she dedicated to us is one of the main reasons we chose her as our cake vendor. My husband and I order a 3-tier cake, two dozen cupcakes, and 4 dozen cookies (I have a big sweet tooth :P) and the price was unbelievable for everything that we ordered. We really wanted to give our guests a full dessert experience and Melisa delivered! When Melisa came, she set up our entire dessert table and it was stunning. As a bride, I couldn’t have asked for anything more!! Not to mention the desserts were DELICIOUS. There wasn’t much left on the table so that’s a pretty good sign our guests loved the food. I would highly recommend Melisa to any bride and groom looking for a cake baker for their big day! You won’t regret it. ❤️🍰

I had an absolutely amazing experience with using Sweet By Design for my wedding cake. We started our wedding planning during the COVID-19 pandemic which made our process a little bit difficult. Melisa gave us a very organized take-home cake tasting box with several different cake flavors and frosting samples. My husband and I still were able to get that wedding cake sample tasting experience this way. Our wedding cake tasted absolutely amazing and was very beautiful. She completely matched our vision and ensured that the wedding cake was exactly what we wanted by sending us sketches of her vision to ensured it matched with ours. She was also very responsive and professional throughout the whole process. I definitely recommend Sweet By Design!

I cannot recommend Sweet By Design enough to other brides and grooms out there! Not only did our wedding cake turn out beautiful but it was SO DELICIOUS! We got so many compliments from our guests. Melisa was so responsive and made the entire planning process so easy. She took our inspiration photos and florals and created exactly what we were looking for. From our initial tasting (a super easy take-home box!) to the design and execution process, I am so grateful I found Melisa. We had three smaller cakes at our wedding, and they looked exactly like the inspiration pictures I sent over and tasted incredible. A personal favorite of ours was the stacked cookie cake! So yummy and so cute!

We loved working with Melisa and Sweet by Design. It was such a pleasant experience from day one. Even when the pandemic hit, she still met us to provide a boxed version of our cake tasting and provided cards recommending certain icings with certain cakes. The flavors were all so amazing it was really hard to decide which one we wanted. Not only that, but she was flexible with changes in cake design and was 100% willing to add a grooms cake later on in the process. We received raving reviews on both the design and the taste on our wedding day. I could not recommend her enough!!

She created custom wedding and grooms cake designs based on our personal style, wedding colors, and the style of our venue, and the cakes she delivered for us were literal works of art. And not only did they look amazing, but they tasted amazing! We still have friends and family raving about how delicious the cakes were. We were unsure with how much cake was enough and thought we'd need way more, but she was 100% accurate with her advice otherwise and ended up saving us extra money! Let me start by telling you I usually hate wedding cake.... I really didn't want one but my planner suggested I meet with Melisa and then decide. WOW WOW WOW. Seriously the best cake ever. I even went with a fruit filling, no not the gross jelly kind.. she made an amazing creamy fruit filling that was the perfect touch. My husband also isn't usually a cake fan so she created us the most amazing cookie/brownie layered cake and it was soooo good and unique, everyone was raving about it! Melisa was amazing to work with designing my geometric cake & while rescheduling due to COVID-19. On our wedding day everything tasted just as good as the day of the tasting and I'm so happy we gave Sweet by Design a chance. Just book the tasting & I guarantee you'll book Melisa!

I can’t even explain how great it was working with Melissa. She was so professional yet so down to earth and really captured what I wanted for my wedding cake. My husband wanted a hunting cake and he definitely got it. She created custom cakes for the both of us and we were more than impressed!

Melisa with Sweet By Design made the cookie cake for mine and my husband's wedding. I originally came across the idea of a cookie cake on Pinterest and fell in love with the idea! I'm not much of a cake person and neither is my husband, so we reached out to several vendors concerning a tiered cookie cake. Melisa not only responded faster than most other vendors, she set up a consultation right away, and made our cookie cake dreams come alive for our best day ever. It was a huge hit and just as good, if not better, than when we had our cookie tasting at our consultation in 2018. Melisa exceeded our expectations when she delivered our tiered cookie cake (within plenty of time), set it up and decorated it with the flowers left on the cake table. We highly recommend her for any special occasion, no feat is too big for this cottage bakery. Choosing Sweet by Design for our wedding cake and cookie favors was the BEST wedding decision we made! Melisa is an artist and true professional! Our cake was incredibly beautiful (completely Instagram worthy!) but more than that, it was insanely delicious! The cookies and cream wedding cake is what dreams are made of!

Melissa was amazing! We ordered cupcakes for our reception for her and they turned out amazing! The flavors were a huge hit with our guests! Melissa was perfectly punctual and very responsive throughout the entire process. Very enjoyable experience!

Our cakes were AMAZING!!! We had so much fun meeting with Melisa and trying out the different flavors of cake and icing! My husband wanted a cookie cake for his grooms cake and she delivered a masterpiece!! It was delicious and gorgeous!! Our wedding cake was stunning and so delicious! THE BEST MOST AMAZING WEDDING CAKE EVER! we received tons of compliments on our cake, it was MOIST and DELICIOUS! don't settle for bland dry wedding cake, Melissa literally made my vision come to life and wow it was so good. Melissa was absolutely amazing to work with. I did not eat cake until my cake tasting with her and after, I literally couldn't eat any other cake. Every single sample was delicious; she was even kind enough to share samples with my parents and aunt who came along with us. She worked with us throughout the whole process, answering questions and being willing to make changes along the way. When I saw our bride and groom's cake on our wedding day, I was in awe; it was absolutely beautiful! Besides how gorgeous they were, they tastes heavenly and I had people asking me all night who made these cakes. I can't wait to find another reason to use Melissa again!

Melisa from Sweet by Design did our bride’s and groom’s cakes, and they were AMAZING!! She was so easy to work with, captured our ideas perfectly, and the cakes were delicious. We had her create a custom design for the groom’s cake (college rivalry), and she did a great job!!! We got so many compliments on the taste and look of the cakes. She was extremely efficient, prompt, and organized. She has an amazing knowledge on cake sizes and designs, and her prices kept us on budget. I would recommend her to anyone!!

Melisa was amazing to work with! She was thorough, attentive, quick to respond, and had an arsenal of helpful advice when we were unsure what we wanted. Both the wedding and grooms cake were perfect and exactly how we imagined :) Most importantly they were DELICIOUS! Our wedding cake had two flavors: 1) white chocolate with raspberry buttercream and 2) lemon with lavender blackberry buttercream. Our grooms cake had chocolate fudge with chocolate buttercream. They were all incredible!! I can't recommend her enough :)
