She and I gathered a bunch of "inspo" to get a sense of my fiancee's style (this was a secret ring-design process): Caroline did some social media sleuthing, and I gathered pictures of all my fiancee's current jewelry. Once Caroline had a sense of my fiancee's style, we went back and forth on different types of stones and settings - my fiancee was geoscience major in school, so I wanted something other than the biggest, clearest diamond. Once we had narrowed it down to a few types of diamond (champagne or milky or salt-and-pepper), Caroline sent me sketches of the stones in different arrangements. I pointed out aspects I liked from the different sketches (rose cut, champagne, split shank), and she came back with more-and-more specific sketches. Once we had settled on a design, Caroline got to work and kept me updated on her progress - I got videos and pictures from the diamond store and updates on the ring. A few weeks later, I received the ring and proposed (successfully)! I highly recommend creating a custom piece with Caroline, and I look forward to working on our wedding bands with her!

My husband is a serious fisherman, and Carrie ended up carving intricate fish scales for his ring. Both turned out gorgeous!
