Sweet Dreams created not only the most beautiful wedding cake I could have asked for, but also the most delicious! I gave her a few ideas of things that I liked and she combined them all into something that was even better than I imagined. We had leftovers and even after being frozen for several weeks, the cake is still the best cake I've ever tasted.
Deanna created an absolutely beautiful cake! We had layers of spice cake and vanilla! So yummy! I would recommend Sweet Dreams for anyone looking for a beautiful and delicious cake!
Deanna created a beautiful cake for us as a special request from a picture we found on Pinterest. Not only was it beautiful but we got so many compliments on the flavors! Thank you Deanna!
Karen, Deanna, and their team were amazing to work with. They provided our desserts, as well as passed out appetizers during our cocktail hour. The staff was neat, professional, and very helpful! Deanna sat down with us to make sure that we had every aspect we wanted, and our personal brownie cake was absolutely beautiful!!
Deanna and her staff not only make great food, but the wedding cake looked so amazing. We couldn't have been happier with them. The staff is very attentive and service is second to none. All of the guests were amazed with the food and cake. When we taste tested their food to decide if we would use them to cater our wedding, they sent us home with plenty of extra food. You will be amazed at the selection they have for catering. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.
We went with Sweet Dream Desserts and Catering for our wedding on 9/16/17. Deanna and her staff were great to work with! They did a fabulous job on our wedding cake! I was very pleased with the quality and taste. The design was exactly what we wanted and we got excellent reviews from our guests ad well! I highly recommend using them! Thank you so much for an awesome wedding cake! Can't wait to go back and get our top layer for our one year anniversary!
Our cake was beautiful! And it tasted even better! Deanna and her staff are great. I gave them a picture of what I wanted and the cake came out picture perfect! We had a three layer cake with three different flavors, I couldn't just pick one - they were all fabulous. And the butter cream is incredible! This is by far the best cake I've ever had, and I would recommend them to anyone - you won't be disappointed! Great value as well.
I was very pleased with the quality of the food at our brunch wedding at the Chapel in the Pines on 11/10/12 that Sweet Dreams was responsible for. We met with Deanna for an impromptu consultation when we went to the restaurant for lunch one day to try the cupcakes I'd heard such great things about. My husband is gluten free/dairy free, so it was not going to be easy for our caterers. We had other guests who are vegan and GF, so we knew we had to be strict about this and offer a lot of veggie options. Phil also came out and talked to us and we worked through some substitutions that could be made with oil instead of butter, etc. In the end,. the cupcakes were so delicious as they were, we decided to just bring in some GF/DF ones and let Deanna do her thing. I did my own cake topper and had a little Dr. Who figurine that I wanted included on the side of the wedding cake. She did such a great job on our cake and the little Tardis looked so cute and was a great touch for the groom even though he couldn't eat it.
They were on time and the set up looked great. More importantly, the food all tasted great. Many of the guests raved about the "Thanksgiving in a cup" station and the dessertinis.
The were only a few down sides. The primary being that there was no silverware out and guests kept coming up to me and complaining (there were mini forks, but people wanted full size ones) until my mother went back there and complained and found some black plastic ones to put out. There was A LOT of plastic. If you want to have a green wedding, you need to specify glass water glasses and carafes on the tables (I didn't think of this until I saw). The coffee station was not very elegant (basic push top thermos style). I'm only mentioning these things because they never crossed my mind when working out the contract. If the details are important to you, I'm sure they will work with you to get what you want.
Desserts: We had a 2-tier cake, dessertinis in various Fall flavors, 2 types of cheesecake, and cupcakes galore (the chocolate ganache were my favorites). Everything looked lovely and matched our Tiffany blue with clementine orange and leaf green accents color scheme.
Brunch: I knew going into the wedding that we needed to have BBQ pulled pork for my husband and bacon wrapped water chestnuts for me. I also really wanted a mashed potato bar. Luckily, Sweet Dreams already had all of these things on their menu. But we wanted a variety of options for our guests. My favorite items from the food were the tortellini kabobs, beef kabobs, fruit kabobs, salad, and crab stuffed mushrooms, and shrimp cocktail. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Everything was wonderful. We purchased cupcakes and a small cake for us to cut. The design was exactly what we wanted. We got rave reviews from our guests ad well!
So, the quality of the food is good and the price. However, on my wedding day there were several things different then what was previously discussed. I had an all outdoor wedding and it was a heat index of 110 degrees. There was supposed to be water at the tables and they didn't have any water. Big problem. Then the large container that had the lemonade ran out. When asked if they were going to make more, they said no. My guests ended up going to the vending machines inside to buy drinks. Not ok. Also, we had ordered ice tea as well for the wedding and it was unsweetned. Who serves unsweetned ice tea at a wedding?!?
Also, when the later tables went up to the buffet line to get there food. There was slim pickings. There was plenty of food left over after the wedding was over, the servers just didn't do replenish while guests were still going through the line. Some of my guests went to a restaurant after because they were still hunger. Also, not ok.
I love this place! The food is soooo good and the cupcakes are to die for. They know thier stuff. Do not hesitate to use them...call them right away! I used them for my wedding at Chapel in the Pines and my guests were very happy. We are still getting compliments.
I got my wedding cake from Sweet Dream Desserts. It was the most wonderful cake I have ever eaten. It also looked great. The price was quite reasonable. I highly, highly recommend!!!!
When my husband and I decided we were going to get married in Elgin, IL, choosing our bakery was a no-brainer. I already knew I wasted to do cupcakes so Sweet Dreams was the first place I thought of. The only hard decision was narrowing down which kind to get! All of their cupcakes are delicious but we decided to go with the chocolate ganache (my personal favorite) and vanilla. My meeting with the owner, Deanna, to finalize the designs only took about 10 minutes because her first suggestions were great and she mad it so easy. They can pretty much match any color you want for frosting, and add personalized designs as well. We went with a more standard approach--white rose design on the vanilla cakes and green hydrangea design on the chocolate cakes. We had lots of guests comment on how pretty they were… and how delicious they were, of course! The prices are very reasonable as well: $1.60 per cupcake, with up-charges for delivery or stand rental. They also do traditional wedding cakes, which I've heard are just as good. Overall, I would highly recommend Sweet Dreams to anyone getting married in the Northwest Suburbs or DeKalb/Sycamore area.
We tasted cupcakes at several locations before deciding on Sweet Dream. Their frosting is to die for and our dessert table was a huge hit.
We worked with Deanna at Sweet Dream to create our wedding cake. Despite our changes and questions, she was very patient! The cake was absolutely beautiful on our wedding day. Did I also mention that it was incredibly affordable? You will not be disappointed with Sweet Dream Desserts!!
We visited several bakeries in the search of the best tasting cake and cupcakes. This is where we found them! All the cupcakes made at Sweet Dream Desserts come filled, and are amazing! The hardest part was picking a flavor since they were all so good. We ended up getting Red Velvet cupcakes and all of our guests agreed that they were delicious.
Sweet Dreams worked out really well for us.
The cake was so beautiful and delicious. We got the red velvet cake. Everyone loved it. Very affordable too.
Our cake was delicious and beautiful! Cake was not my number one priority so I gave her a picture and told her I wasn't too picky and to just be creative. It was beautiful.
