I was looking for a wedding cake and wanted to stay as local as possible for everything. With the wedding being in Havre de Grace, Sweet Eats was the obvious choice. Their cakes on display are beautiful, and it smells nice in there.
I contacted them about doing a tasting at the beginning of December and they responded saying they’re booked until January, but were available for tastings from 12-5 on January 15th and 16th. I confirmed 12 on the 15th, and they responded “perfect, see you then!”
On January 15th my fiancé and I showed up for our tasting and the girl at the counter said “oh, are you (insert name here)?” And we said no, and she started going through the list in the book for that day. We weren’t in there and she then told us “Well we never schedule tastings during the ice festival, we wouldn’t have scheduled today.” And I showed the email. She said we could reschedule.
We decided not to reschedule because if you can’t get our tasting written down in your schedule, how do I know you’ll get our cake done for our wedding day? I also don’t appreciate that there were obviously other people on the schedule for the day and were then told that nobody gets scheduled that day. What a strange lie. There wasn’t even an apology, the girl at the counter didn’t seem to care about the mistake, but said she probably was the one who did it. I guess it’s good she didn’t blame someone else, but it didn’t help anything on our end.
Samantha was so good at bringing my wedding cake vision to life. The cake was not only beautiful but tasted amazing. She was very easy to work with and allowed us to do a tasting prior to purchasing the cake. I would highly recommend her for any of your cake needs!
Samantha did a very nice job with our cake. our initial meeting was very easy and quick. She delivered on our idea very well! Her prices are extremely fair, they accommodated the time we needed them to drop off the cake plus they go back to get your cupcake stands after the fact you don't have to return yourself (which was awesome for us as we were out of state). She was very pleasant to work with. The only downside is the coloring of cake we wanted more aqua than the blue we received but overall were pleased with the outcome.
When my husband and I started planning, the dessert was not a huge priority to us, but I can honestly say that Samantha and her team made it one of our favorite parts of the wedding. When we all met for the first time at the tasting, she made the experience so enjoyable and had so many amazing options to choose from. The team set up the most beautiful display at the wedding and it all tasted just as amazing as it looked!
Amazing! Samantha did an amazing job from start to finish! She worked with our budget and we had more then enough for well under our budget and the way she set up everything was perfect. Everyone kept asking who we used because everyone really enjoyed it. A dessert buffet is the way to go for wedding guest
A wonderful and beautiful chocolate cake with a fall theme (leaves, pumpkins)! AND, if you are feeling your sweet tooth, we definitely recommend getting a plate of the Sweet Eats chocolate chip cookies! I took several bets beforehand that it would be the best chocolate chip cookie my friends had eaten, and I won those bets. Try them out!
Delicious, delicious, delicious! Samantha was incredible & did everything in her power to make sure that the cake and cupcakes were free of nuts. (A few family members and I are highly allergic). She was organized and made sure that everything was as we had discussed, and even helped us design our cake from a few different pinterest pictures!
The cake tasting went smoothly and we got to taste a variety of different flavors.
Samantha was awesome to work with. She was so responsive to every separate email and question that I had. The bakery items we ordered turned out perfect. Would highly recommend!
I am over the moon with how my cake and cookies turned out for my 150 guests. Everyone raved about the cookies and the display was gorgeous! They were amazing from cake tasting to execution!
Samantha was great to work with. She had great suggestions for our dessert bar and cake and brought them to life beautifully. Plus all of the desserts were devoured by our guests. They were all so delicious!
Here we had great freedom to design an awesome cake that had meaning to our relationship (and color scheme/theme) and it tasted great, too.

For my rustic country fall wedding (held in a barn), we decided to do the mason jar cakes for our guests. We chose 4 different flavors/frostings and each were a huge hit! We also got a small cake to cut and share with each other. The only thing we didn't anticipate was the extremely cold weather so the icing got pretty firm...but it was still delicious! People STILL ask me (over a year later) where I got the idea for those little cakes in mason jars and I credit Samantha and her team every time! Not only were the cakes delicious but Samantha went above and beyond to make them just how I wanted. My sister-in-law made adorable jar toppers to let guests know which flavor was inside with a coordinating decoration hanging from twine (to be tied around the jar lid) and Samantha was willing to add them all. They looked SO amazing!! We ended up paying for delivery since Havre de Grace was the complete opposite side of the state from where the wedding was held. I'm told by my coordinator that the delivery person was not very pleasant but aside from that, I've had nothing but pleasant interactions with Sweet Eats. I would definitely use them again for special occasions.
From the moment we walked in to her shop for our tasting, se was very nice and accommodating. The tasting was very good, and the cake was beautiful. I didn't get to eat a piece of the other 2 cake flavors we ordered in our cake, but they were gone and if the cake my husband and I ate was any indication of the other flavors, then I'm sure they were wonderful!
Sweet eats cakes made mini pies and our top cake for our wedding a few weeks ago. Everything was delicious! Our guests were so impressed with the presentation and of course the taste!
When we first met with Samantha we were a little taken back, but we are so glad that we went with Sweet Eats for our wedding cake. It was so melt in your mouth amazing and the real buttercream frosting just made it over the top. My husband wanted a goofy on the side of the cake and she said she would do it, but what we got was over above what we expected, it was amazing. We cannot wait to order our anniversary tier to indulge in the goodness of her cakes.
Samantha was a pleasure to work with! We tried samples of her cakes and frostings, and we had our heart set on red velvet, but everything we tasted was delicious. She made the cake of my dreams, and even added a little corgi that she modeled after our dog Chancey. It was the perfect fall/rustic cake we had envisioned for our October wedding. Truly talented!
The initial meeting was a little awkward but the cake made up for that! On the wedding day my cake looked amazing and tasted even better. However, I did order a square cake and received a round one. I was refunded $100 and Samantha was completely understanding. I would go there again. Accidents happen.
Samantha was great to work with! She did a BEAUTIFUL wedding cake. Also had a surprise grooms cake, it was amazing, looked so awesome. Excellent value!
Stephanie was fantastic to work with. She was able to do exactly what I wanted (which was very fancy scroll work!) on our cake. We also ordered 3 different kinds of cupcakes for our guests and they were AMAZING. We were so excited we kept telling guests about them before the wedding! Her pricing was far below anyone else I spoke to as well.
The cake was moist and had a wonderful consistency. Icing was fantastic and full bodied in flavor but not overly sweet. Just right! We froze the leftover cupcakes and are still enjoying them!
Beautiful job all around! Highly HIGHLY recommend.
