Alicia Permenter has always had a love for baking and never knew she had the gift of baking at a professional level, not to mention owning her own custom cakes and dessert business. After high school, Alicia took her love of teaching further, went to college, began teaching elementary school aged children, earned her Masters in Education, and then went on to obtain a certificate in school administration, but her love and passion for baking continued to follow close behind. In December of 2018, Alicia decided to follow her passion for baking and opened Sweet Elevations Cakes and More.

Mimi Hemphill has always had a love for baking baked goods such as pound cakes, breads, cookies and fruit desserts. When her daughter Alicia shared the idea to just bake and sell a few cakes for the Christmas holiday one year, Mimi never imagined that she'd be assisting with cakes and other desserts for numerous holidays thereafter. Mimi always provides great advice and suggestions when it comes to cake and dessert flavors, cake designs, dessert table set-ups and more!

I highly recommend Sweet Elevations for your wedding cake. The owner, Alicia Hemphill, is wonderful to work with. My husband and I knew we wanted a specific cake flavor/fruit filling combo and she prepared custom made samples based on the exact combination we were interested in. Several other cake vendors would not prepare custom made samples and only provided generic cupcakes upon which to base our wedding cake decision. Sampling cupcakes is not the same as sampling a cake with layers. Alicia was also a great communicator from the cake sampling phase through the delivery of our wedding cake on our wedding day. The 3-tiered cake she baked for our wedding was as beautiful as it was delicious. You can trust Sweet Elevations throughout the process to create and deliver an outstanding cake for your wedding.

Sweet Elevations was the only baker I had in mind to do my wedding cake :) Booking was very straight forward and quick. As far as design went I sent a few inspiration photos and told her to she had creative freedom. My cake was so beautiful and each flavor was amazing. I would recommend Alicia to anyone getting married in the DMV area. She is so friendly, and truly enjoys her craft.

5 stars just doesn't suffice. From the moment we met Alicia it was clear she'd be a part of our special day. If you are looking for someone who listens, is creative, loves what she does and most importantly produces divine desserts, you want to start and end with Sweet Elevations Cakes and More. When I say our cake and dessert table were gone in the blink of an eye, I'm not exaggerating. We met 1 year to our wedding and booked within a week. Scheduling our tasting was a breeze and we coordinated making an at home tasting box for my mom who is unable to travel. Everything!!! Everything tastes phenomenal and the level of detail and precision put into making our wedding cake an original design was spot on. I mean check the photos courtesy of Hunter Scott Imagery.
