They were able to do a different flavor for each layer of cake, and really pulled out a one of a kind cake for our Halloween themed wedding. They are incredibly affordable too. I was so intimidated by the prices of cakes in Northern Virginia but we got our three tier cake for less than $500. Definitely call and at least schedule a tasting! You will understand why you need to go with them after you try their amazing cake!

big day, she was responsive and helpful. During our in-person planning session, I loved the way she sketched out what she had in mind. When I forgot to tell the florist that we wanted flowers for the cake, Nikki was quick to reassure me that everything would be ok. On the big day, the cake was a work of art. It was beautiful outside and the alternative lemon and chocolate layers with raspberry buttercream were even better than at the tasting. My only regret is that I didn’t get to eat more cake during the wedding!

ly priced: only $84, and we had leftover cake for a week. If you want a custom design, with more than one layer, their prices are still very competitive. But I strongly recommend their "regular" cakes (as in, not wedding cakes) if you are not too picky. The white buttercream design was beautiful and sophisticated, and they can even decorate it with buttercream roses for no additional cost.

about what kind of wedding cake I wanted and Nikki (the owner) was able to talk it out with me and put my vision into a cohesive design. I went with a lace design and the yellow cake with chocolate buttercream and the marble cake with white chocolate buttercream. The cake turned out beautifully and the guests couldn't say enough good things about it. Sweet Ladies also does an option that you can choose to have your 1 year anniversary cake (the top tier) made for you at the time of your 1 year anniversary, so you can have it fresh and can re-live all of those memories (instead of it taking room in your freezer for a year!) My only thought for improvement is that I sometimes had to wait a few days for an email reply. Nothing fell through due to it, but compared to some other vendors, it seemed to take longer to hear from the team. Otherwise, flawless execution and a wonderful place for beautiful and delicious cakes.

The only thing that I didn't like was having to run around for the cake accessories, I would have loved to have the baker do this because I have no clue what I was doing and didn't want to keep all the accessories afterwards but at the end of the day, it was the cake that matter and it was on point!

had a backup generator so the cake was fine! And she delivered the cake to a new location only a few hours before we arrived. It was so special for us to be able to have our cake on our wedding day, even though nothing else we planned for the day remained the same- we still had a tasty beautiful cake. Also, her cakes taste wonderful! We couldn't decide from our tasting which we like best so we had three different flavors. I recommend this vendor hands down. Thanks Sweet Ladies!!!

I am not kidding when I say that Nikki worked with me tirelessly and in the end, I gave her the toppers, the ladder, the cupcake stand and said, "Make it pretty.". And that's exactly what she did! Amazing detail, awesome presentation! I wish I could post a picture here :-)

cake while keeping it traditional (which was exactly what I wanted). I also asked Nikki to make a groomsmen cake for my now husband. It turned out fantastic, he is really into snowboarding so that was the theme. Everyone at the weddign was blown away by both the cakes, and my husband thought the groomsmen cake was the best he'd ever seen!

l. We got a lot of great praise. Unlike a lot of bakeries in the area, these wedding cakes are actually CAKE (as opposed to tiramasu or custard), and all the flavors we tried were fabulous. I can't wait for my first anniversary cake!!

ittle cupcakes as samples of each of the flavors we wanted to try. It was no problem to have two tiers of red velvet and one of almond. The icing was beautifully done and looked perfect. The price was in the middle of the three bakeries we looked at, but we felt the quality was almost as good as the highest-priced bakery (and we heard that Nikki had actually trained with that baker). We felt comfortable that she would do a good job, and she did!

In retrospect, it doesn't matter because the delivered on time, and all three cakes were fantastic artistically and delicious. I first contacted Sweet Ladies for a retirement cake, and it was better than I anticipated. The whole group raved about the cake and design. Next we ordered the grooms cake (red velvet in baseball theme), and again the crowd raved. (I'm not a red velvet fan so I couldn't tell you, my hubby said it was a little dry. The few bites that I had were fine. Our venue put it in the fridge, and I think they taste better at room temp.) Finally the wedding cake....I am biased, but it was the most wonderful cake. It was gorgeous and oh so delicious. I will use Sweet Ladies bakery for all of my specialty cakes in the future.
