Sweet Pea Designs

Kurt and Paige at Sweet Pea made my wedding flower Pinterest dreams come true! Kurt was the only florist I found in the Vail area who I felt wasn't trying to take advantage of me and had reasonable prices. Kurt is very detail oriented down to every flower and even the colors on the ribbons that wrapped the bridesmaids' bouquets and mine. My bouquet was enormous and exactly what I asked for. I couldn't have been happier with the bouquets and the table scapes they put together for me at the Sonnenalp. My mother-in-law hired Sweet Pea to do flowers for the rehearsal dinner and the arrangements were very playful and fun, exactly what she wanted. I would hire Sweet Pea again if I had the chance.

We only had bouquets, boutonnieres, and flower girl petals for our wedding. Kurt did a wonderful job choosing flowers and shades that went perfectly with our wedding colors and fit within our budget. I really loved the bouquets, they were absolutely beautiful. My only complaint is that we ordered a basket for our flower girl, and the one supplied barely held half of the petals and also had a $3 price tag on it even though we were charged $12 for it.

Overall disappointed with Sweet Pea, especially for the price we paid. If I could rate a 1.5 Stars, I would. They did a decent job picking the perfect flowers based on what I liked and our wedding colors, but the bouquets were too "stiff" for what I had asked for. The bride's bouquet was just barely larger than the bridesmaids, and did not stand out as I would have hoped. Boutonnieres were lacking color and very, very limp. Halos for the flowers girls and petals for the flower girl baskets were WAY over priced. Other mishaps: the table center pieces got thrown away because "they were not fresh and already started to die" when they were picked up the day after the wedding. Sweet Pea never bothered to call us asking if we wanted to keep them anyway. The flower arrangements in the two stands at the alter were not attached properly and one the arrangements fell off the stand in the middle of the ceremony, causing a huge commotion. Very disappointing.

We got married in the middle of July, which most are aware that it's a very busy time for weddings. They always got back to us promptly and never made us feel that we are bothering them with ideas or questions. Wendy is wonderful to work with. She listened to what we wanted and gave great, cost effective ways to help us achieve it. My bouquet was exactly what I wanted and it was gorgeous! The bridesmaid bouquets were amazing as well. All the girls gushed about how many vibrant colors were used. We also wanted to incorporate ceramic-like skis for the boutonnières, since we did a ski themed wedding and they bent over backwards to make it happen for us. We were so thrilled they were able to find a way to attach them to the boutonnières they already made. We are very impressed with their work and are very happy we chose them as our florist for our wedding in Vail.
