We don’t use a cookie cutter approach to our events, we customize everything based on what you want. We also clearly put our prices on this site and we never nickel or dime our clients or gouge them with add-ons.
Our level of customer service has become rare in the DJ business as there are many fly-by-night guys, large warehouse types who train Craig's kids at your wedding and those out for a quick buck. The Pros who work with us are all in the music, radio, sound engineering and entertainment business. No slackers or hacks will ever work your celebration. We had a great experience working with Ted as our wedding DJ! We hopped on a few calls with Ted during the wedding planning process and he was always very professional, organized, and knowledgeable on the industry to provide recommendations where needed. He knows what kind of music will get the audience out on the dance floor and was very accommodating to any of our requests.
He did a phenomenal job at our wedding with combining our pre-planned Spotify playlists mixed with songs (of a similar style/vibe) to keep the audience out on the dance floor and having a good time. He also did a great job facilitating the order of events throughout the evening/announcing the next agenda item, etc.
Some of our friends in attendance who are getting married also thought he did a great job at our wedding that they are now exploring his services for theirs! Would highly recommend working with Ted!

Joel was our DJ and truly knocked it out of the park! He was so professional, looked great, and had everything handled with precision. Starting with our lawn wedding ceremony that had outdoor music and the officiant mic'd up, to the indoor reception with cocktail hour, Emcee announcements, dance music & perfect coordination with our photographer which really kept things moving so smoothly. He was friendly and an excellent communicator. I used to be a wedding coordinator, and honestly he was one of the best I have seen. Ted (the owner) and I had a lengthy conversation before I booked them, and everything we discussed met my expectations on our wedding day. I would hire them for any event, anytime! Ted is so personable - he was made for this job! He was so easy to click with instantly during our first phone call. He was very organized and his spreadsheet made planning a breeze. We could customize things as much (or as little) as we wanted. He was effortlessly social with our guests and made sure the timeline ran smoothly. The music queues were absolutely perfect all day. He did a wonderful job of reading the vibe of the reception and adjusting as necessary as the evening progressed. There was never a doubt in my mind that we selected the right DJ for the job. I want to throw another party just so we can hire Sweet Sounds again!

Ted was an absolute delight to work with from start to finish. While planning for the event, he made certain to know what the timeline for the evening was, what vibe we wanted for the music, they playlist for the evening, and who was and was not allowed to get in front of a mic. He was full of tips and tricks about how to help guests keep a good time rolling, while minimizing any drama from grumpy or tipsy guests. Day of, he was full of good humor and energy, made sure to introduce himself to anyone giving a toast so they'd know who to go to, and kept people on the dance floor all night with some great music. Absolutely would recommend Ted to run your wedding or reception.
I met Ted from Sweet Sounds while attending the Seattle wedding expo in November 2022. What set him apart from the rest of the DJ booths right away was: He was wearing a full suit. He was professional, yet engaging. And he asked me about my wedding, what we were looking for and what style of music we enjoyed. I knew right then as I left, with contact information in hand and his intent to connect with me in a day or two, that Ted would be our DJ.
From the start of planning, until our wedding, Ted was right there along side us throughout the whole process of planning our wedding music, the flow of how we wanted the night to go, and what music and special dancing we wanted. Ted was personable and easy to talk to, answered all our questions, (even the silly ones), and handled our last minute changes with ease. He wanted to make sure we were satisfied with what was set up for our wedding day, and having that confidence made me and my new husband enjoy our wedding without worry. Ted worked well with my friend/wedding coordinator the day-of for set up, where to set up the microphones and speakers, and executed everything perfectly. When we saw that we needed to move certain songs or a special dance up earlier during the reception, (and even end the night sooner than we thought), he made the transition and flow very easily. We felt very well taken care of and everyone enjoyed the wedding and reception! And Ted from Sweet Sounds played a huge role in that. We would definitely recommend Sweet Sounds to anyone, and would hire Ted again for any other events in the future!
Ted Made is an absolute pleasure to work with! His professionalism, courtesy, charisma, character, and witt are top notch. We always felt like a part of the family when talking to Ted. From the MC'ing to music selection, he had it all covered. He is definitely an entertainer at heart and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. I could go on and on about his ability to make the night go smoothly, his stories, and his jokes.

This guy is awesome! I’m so glad I booked Ted for my wedding. He knew how to work a crowd while he was on the mic as an MC and he knew what songs to play to get people dancing. Feeling swamped when I was planning the wedding, I asked Ted to be in charge of coming up with ideas for what music to play during cake cutting, entrances, first dances, etc and he nailed it. Took a load off my shoulders. He has enough experience to know what works at a wedding. Can’t recommend him enough!
Sweet Sounds was hired as a MC/Dj for my son's wedding and was the key to keeping things on track. His attention to detail both before and during the wedding was perfect -- the music choices were the best for all age groups and he was so accommodating on all last minute requests. Hire Ted!
Ted DJ'd our wedding and was a huge part of making our day great! We had two calls with him before the wedding to talk about what kinds of songs we wanted played during dancing, and then to comb through the playlist. We identified all the must have/nice to have/no-go songs, which was really helpful in making sure all the right music was played. We don't listen to pop music, so we asked Ted fill in some of the blanks in our playlist and he had a lot of suggestions about good songs to add in to get people to dance, while still playing the songs we definitely wanted to hear. He did a great job because our guests were dancing the entire time! It was the perfect playlist and a really reasonable price. I would highly recommend Ted!
We loved working with Sweet Sounds. I can’t believe I’ve forgotten the name of our DJ, but he did such a wonderful job for us and we couldn’t have been more pleased. He was even able to quickly set up a secret video planned out with the groom to surprise me and it was a huge hit! The entire process with Sweet Sounds was so lovely and their system was easy to follow along with while in planning mode. Highly recommend them!
It saddens me to write this review, but Ted was a disappointment. Leading up to the wedding, he was great to work with. Responsive, friendly, witty. But all that doesn't matter when he played the wrong song for me to walk down the aisle. I requested "Halo" by Beyonce, and somehow got a remixed version? I gave him the exact youtube URL to pull from. He also mocked the best man and my longtime friend, shaking his finger at them when they grabbed the mic. Granted, they were intoxicated, but no one deserves to be talked down to like that. Especially not close friends and brother of the bride and groom. Ted also cut out a speech, without even consulting us. We were really looking forward to what he had to say, and now, I guess we'll never know. I'm also not sure why Ted decided to talk to my husband as soon as the venue opened, we had a lot to set up and my husband was trying to coordinate and get everything set up in time...he should have waited until things calmed down a bit to give him your spiel.

s cutting loose and enjoying life, God knows we need it. But, when too much alcohol is involved, the party can quickly get out of control. Doing that many shots does not usually work out very well and is actually not allowed at most venues.
The Beyoncé link you sent would not convert to an MP3 in the program we use. That’s not unusual, so we got another link with the exact title. It did not say remix or duo or anything else. We listen to the first 5 seconds or so to check on the quality, but we cannot listen fully to each of the 700-1000 songs we go through every week. The song did end up being a remix, which started at 25 sec. in. That’s on us and I wish that never happened. We had no idea that was not what you wanted until the review, as you never said anything. We’ll work on a solution to this type of problem in the future. In over a thousand weddings, that’s a first, but still needs our attention so it does not happen again.
Your friend who went to the DJ table and took the mic when I was in the restroom, was in the wrong. It’s not acceptable behavior, ever. When I saw him walking around screaming into the mic, he noticed me and I shook my finger simply to say, please stop. He returned the mic and apologized. He was very sweet about it and realized it was a bad idea. Again, I had no problem with him at all. If shaking your finger at someone from 40 feet away is that horrible to you, then you need to grow up.
Ten minutes later, Thomas, the groom’s brother, who was extremely drunk and belligerent, came to me and demanded the mic to take on the floor. This is the same floor where 7 or 8 men were jumping on each other, wrestling, jumping from chairs and acting in the most disgraceful way. Did you ever wonder why none of the older folks got on the dance floor?
Thomas acted like a spoiled petulant child being told no. As he was getting worse, a woman took him away. I then went and spoke to Julie, your coordinator, who spent much of the time away from all the drunken chaos. She agreed that things were out of control and said she’d say something to you about Thomas and others. Obviously she did not.
In all the weddings I’ve Emceed, I’ve never cut anyone from a speech. You added this person after our final review call. I looked at the history of the document to make sure. I told you to please let me know if you change anything on the timeline. You never said anything about him, even on the day of or during the toasts. It’s not uncommon to add a speech the day of, we just need to know.
And now you must be kidding me with this. As professionals, we need to talk to our client at the beginning of the event to know about any changes and make sure we’re on the same page. This only took, maybe, two minutes and is necessary to make sure things go smoothly, like getting all the speeches.
It’s always easy to blame the one person who’s in the hot seat at a wedding, the DJ, when things get out of hand and people have had way too much to drink. Other than that, you both told me a few times during the night how well things were going, as did many other non-drunk guests. So, considering everything, I’m a bit surprised with your review.

Martin is AWESOME! He showed up early, got everything all organized & kept the timeline moving. On top of that, he’s so fun and easy to work with. The night was perfect & the party was a ton of fun. We got lots of feedback from our guests that the music, vibe & Martin’s hosting was on point. We absolutely recommend him for anyone's event!

We hired Sweet Sounds as our DJ for our wedding this past November. Ted was our DJ and MC, and he did a wonderful job! He was extremely personable and easy to work with from the start. We were put at ease right off the bat with his experience and guidance, which made planning really stress-free. He worked with our budget and also was able to work with and execute, our vision for our special night. Great selection of music, which kept people on the dancefloor all night. He was also great as an MC and kept the night flowing smoothly. Overall couldn’t have been happier and would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding DJ!

He has some excellent planning documents that you are able to collaborate with him on which made coordinating with vendors and syncing timelines so much easier. We really appreciated his care and attention to our guests and how flawlessly he made adjustments on the spot in response to what the mood of the reception was. His experience and knowledge of what works well was so crucial to our day going so smoothly. Sweet Sounds is a team of DJs led by owner Ted Mase. We had Martin as our DJ for our wedding in September. He did a great job getting people onto the dance floor, including his idea to welcome couples to join the second half of the mother-son dance instead of just fading the song out, leading people in some steps for one song, taking a few requests, and keeping up a great flow from song to song. There may have been some miscommunication between myself, Martin, and Sweet Sounds owner, Ted, in the initial arrival and set up time, so I started getting nervous when Martin hadn’t shown up 2 hours before the ceremony start like I thought he would. But he did show up with plenty of time to get setup and ready, so no harm there. We ended up making a few on-the-spot changes with our dinner timeline and moving toasts later to accommodate for sunset photos, and I appreciate how flexible and accommodating Martin was to any changes we wanted to make. Sweet Sounds made everything easy, providing a microphone and stand for the officiant, and having their own small dance lights that could fit on a 6 foot table along with all the sound equipment. It was less than $1,300 for 6 hours of music, which seemed like good value compared to some other DJs.
We got married in August of 2018 (I'm a horrible person and only now reviewing) Here's the deal. The music is not even half as important as the MC work. If you get a good to great DJ, you're going to hear the same music no matter what. Its all the little details that matter. That's where Sweet Sounds shine. From the getting difficult names right every time to keeping us on our timetable, Martin was on top of it. Funny enough I was so worried because we didn't get Ted (the owner), but man Martin did so good. They made our day. I will scream from the mountain tops: Hire these guys!
We absolutely loved having Ted emcee/DJ our wedding. Finding a DJ was one of the stressors in my wedding planning, and I had no clue where to even start. We met Ted at a wedding show, right from the start he was so personable and seemed like a great fit. He had worked at our wedding venue lots of times, and reassured me that he knew exactly what he was doing. Having him there took so much stress off of me and my bridal party because he kept the day flowing perfectly. If you are debating between DJs, Ted is an amazing pick. He was attentive and listened to exactly what I wanted, and he was flexible on the day of when we wanted more time for pictures and videos. Martin was our DJ from Sweet Sounds and he did a phenomenal job! Communication was great, he was on time , set up was very efficient and he supported us through every aspect of the day with music and audio help during the ceremony and reception. We had an unfortunate incident occur during the reception and Martin was by our side as we had to change things minute by minute. He was there ready to help, offering suggestions as needed and a unbelievable support! Can't thank you guys enough for doing such a classy job and making the night a success! Ted was the perfect wedding DJ – he managed the sound, timeline, and music of our wedding. Prior to the event, we had several phone calls to discuss the timeline and specifics of what we were looking for him to do. He provided valuable suggestions and helped us think through the details of our day, asking many questions to ensure he understood the setup and which equipment he needed to bring for the ceremony and reception. On top of this, the prices were very reasonable.
On the day of the event, he coordinated smoothly with our officiant, ceremony musician, photographer, caterer, and wedding party to facilitate the evening’s events. We provided him with an eclectic playlist (non-Top 40), which he took and utilized to keep the party going. He was a fun MC and truly felt the crowd, adjusting as the evening progressed to keep people dancing. I can’t imagine a better wedding DJ and wholeheartedly recommend Sweet Sounds as a wedding DJ.
Ted Mase is absolutely AMAZING! We met him at a wedding expo and my daughter and I knew right away that we wanted to book Ted. He listened to everything we wanted and he has the best personality! Very easy to communicate with. He arrived early and was well dressed for the wedding and I loved that he was so honest and didn't try to nickel and dime us. I thought we needed more up lighting, which would have cost more, but Ted said what he had would be enough and I'm glad I listened to him. Our daughters wedding was perfect! Ted made November 3, 2018 a day we will never forget! If you want to have the time of your life... Book Sweet Sounds! You won't regret it!!! Thank you Ted for all the wonderful memories!

Ted was a pleasant DJ to work with for our wedding. He's laid back yet professional and there was no pressure from him at all during our search for a wedding DJ. We decided to go with Ted because he was within our budget. We had a call to go over the music timeline before the wedding to ensure we were on the same page. He showed up on the day of the wedding a few hours in advance of the reception to set up. He played the music cues for the reception at the right times. The only thing that didn't go to plan was that the dance music play list was different from our selection which was more house music, but more pop, top 40s and hip hop were played. Ted didn't want to accept the 30 minute over time he worked for our wedding, but I insisted so he finally took it - which he should. I want to make sure he's compensated correctly!
I would recommend Sweet Sounds (company) name to those out there in the PNW searching for wedding DJ that isn't over priced.

First of all, the price that he charges for the service is reasonable and well worthy. He served as a DJ and MC at our wedding day, which made things easier for us. He helped to warm up the guests during the open-mic section. He is funny and has a good sense of humor.
Secondly, we had sufficient and efficient communications before the wedding, and Ted also gave lots of practical and thoughtful advices. We never met until the wedding day, but we talked over the phone and message via emails. One thing I love the most is Ted provided a work sheet, which serves significant purpose, it lays out all the information you need your DJ/MC know at the wedding day, so nothing will be overlooked or missed.
Last but not the least, he played great music that match the guests ages and genres. It was amazing when he played some Chinese songs that I requested (I just sent him the list of the songs’ names). Guests were surprised and loved it! One of my close friends came up to me and asked if I chose the songs, I said just a few and the rest were chosen by the DJ. He said the DJ is GREAT, the songs he chose were perfect for the night! They loved the music!
Overall, Ted is very easy to work with, well organized, punctual, and professional. I would highly recommend him!
We hired sweet sounds for our wedding in July. Ted is great! He is friendly, flexible, professional and fun! He is responsive during our communication and met all of our requirements. He really played an important role for our wedding and made it special for us! I would highly recommend him to everyone!
Ted was a wonderful DJ and guided my husband and I throughout the entire process. The timeline we created didn’t go exactly as planned when it came to showtime due to the rain, but Ted made everything flow seamlessly. Everyone enjoyed the music and how he emceed. Ted is incredibly fantastic. We needed a lot of guidance and he was incredibly helpful in picking songs and creating a timeline. He was absolutely hilarious and kept us and our guests laughing all night long. Everyone commented on how wonderful he was and how amazing his playlists were. Ted of Sweet Sounds was so incredibly fantastic! I cannot recommend him enough. He went above and beyond in so many aspects. There was a very unique song that I wanted to play at my wedding, and he researched and downloaded a version for me. I threw him a few curve balls during the event by changing some things last minute, and he handled it with ease and grace. The most amazing part came when our photographers left quite early in the evening, and Ted brought a very nice camera and continued taking photos for us throughout the night. He understands how special a wedding day is, and you can tell how much care and thought he puts into each event.
WOW and SWEET! We were not going to get a DJ for our wedding until we saw Ted at a friends wedding. It was obvious to us that we not only needed someone to handle everything that day, but Sweet Sounds had to be the company and Ted & Darian had to be the MC & DJ. They were incredible with all they did from helping us with songs, plans, games and other matters. Ted added a wonderful sense of humor and touch of class to our reception with great humor and engaging with guests and family. We were blown away and consider Sweet Sounds our best vendor by far. If you want a class act at a great price, go with Sweet Sounds.

My Husband and I were just blown away by Sweet Sounds and how they worked
with us to create the party of a life time. We knew from the start we were in
good hands with Ted, the owner, after talking to so many other DJ's that left us feeling
like they only cared about money and doing as little as possible. Darian and Shade, our DJ's,
were not only very professional, but so sweet to our guests and family. The music was
perfect, they never talked too much on the mic and were always doing something
helpful. We still get complements about our DJ's and how great they were.
You really can't go wrong with Sweet Sounds and the price is right.
Sweet Sounds was awesome in every way possible and in ways we never expected. The help we got before our wedding was priceless and took so much stress off us. Our parents had special requests for an event they wanted to surprise us with and they took care of it perfectly. Ted and Darian were the perfect team and sure kept the party going. No cheesy stuff on the mic and the music was just want we asked for. We had an issue with our caterer and removing plates from the tables. The next thing we knew Ted and Darian were helping bus tables. They did things like that the whole time and were so professional and fun to be around. Sweet Sounds was by far our best investment for our wedding. Believe us, you want them as part of your vendor team.
Sweet Sounds started out great with unbelievable customer service while keeping us on track
with our planning, music and time line. We were a bit lost with it all, but with their guidance,
it took so much pressure off. The day of, they started early with the music to welcome our
guests and never charged us. They didn't charge us for travel or any of the equipment we
asked for in fact. Pretty cool! Our MC, Ted, was so full of energy, humor and style that our
guests were blown away. We sure did not think we were getting that level of service but were
super surprised with all we got, and at the best price of who we spoke to. We had
some delays that could have been awkward but Ted kept things going and no one ever noticed
any of the little issues. We could not have been happier with Sweet Sounds. Great Company!
My wife and I had gone to a couple of wedding tradeshows and we're feeling pretty discouraged after talking to a dozen DJ companies. It's nothing personal, just that most of them seem to want to do as little as possible and charge a fortune. A lot of the personalities were not so good either and we had a hard time trusting what they were saying. Yes we were not feeling the groove, until a friend's Mother mentioned Sweet Sounds.
The owner, TED, was happy to do a FaceTime with us and within a minute we knew we found our MC and DJ. They helped us with the planning and our timeline from the very beginning and it was exactly what we needed. The day of our wedding could not have been better and we are both thankful we had someone to handle a few issues that came up. The music was great, cool lights, and the service was beyond anything we expected. Ted and Darian make a great team and will definitely be entertaining for your guests, and not in a cheesy way. If you want to save yourself the stress of looking, just go straight for Sweet Sounds.

Wow! All I can tell you is wow! Ted was an amazinf DJ and emcee. We were absolutely thrilled with his ability to get the party going and his incredible flexibility and great sense of our crowd. He even made sure we had enough to eat and drinks and really went above and beyond his role. His equipment was great! No technical issues and his lights were super fun. He even helped me plan a special song I sang for my new husband which went off great!! His pricing was also very affordable. If you are reading this to try and decide if you should hire him, read no forther. He is 100% the best investment we made in our wedding and he will be the best for your event as well!! Ted from Sweet Sounds was an amazing choice for our wedding. We booked about a year in advance, and he was always available to talk anytime I had a question. He helped me with creating a timeline and choosing songs, which made the whole process way easier on our end. He is more than just a DJ. He knows so much about the social aspect of weddings and is really a great addition to any type of wedding you have. He gets the crowd into whatever mood you would like and we highly recommend him as a vendor.

We were not going to get a DJ for our wedding but kept hearing horror stories of weddings that
were boring, chaotic, confusing and without any direction or flow with no MC or DJ. We then went to a friends wedding a few months before our date and saw first hand what not having a professional MC/DJ looks like.
It was not at all what we wanted for our wedding so we started calling around. Most DJ companies seem
to not care about what they were doing or about what we were asking or wanting.
When we called Sweet Sounds, all that changed. Ted, the owner, was the only one who asked questions, gave suggestions and resources and he obviously enjoys what he does. The help he gave us during the planning and keeping us on track was priceless and so needed. The day of, Ted and his assistant could not have been any more professional, helpful, funny and so sweet to us and our guests. It's like an award show but he does not make it about him, he shines the light on you and your family and guests which makes everyone feel special. Never cheesy or annoying which we've seen in the past. Our parents were even blown away at the type of service we got and at the best price we saw. Sweet Sounds you rocked the house!!!
During the entire planning process, working with Ted from Sweet Sounds was such a JOY! Unlike most other DJ companies, Sweet Sounds went out of their way to provide many services, knowledge, advice/help at no extra cost. Ted added a lot of CLASS and FUN to the wedding and reception with his dynamic, wonderful personality, charm and attention to detail. I celebrated my wedding in France last year and Ted was our Emcee. My husband is American and I'm French, and we rented a small Château in Southwestern France for our wedding reception. Ted did a beautiful job playing a mix of American songs and French songs for our mixed audience. He helped us organize our timeline, and it was flawless, even though he had to deal with both French and American speakers. He was just so charming and helpful. Doing a wedding yourself can be intimidating but sweet sounds took the intimidation and stress out of the planning. They helped me make a plan, walked me through the process, and took the pressure off of me. They were friendly and energetic and kept our party going until the very end. Ted was so thorough during the planning process, and his pre-made forms helped us in creating a clear schedule for the wedding, starting from the pre-ceremony music to the last dance song. He is very experienced and knows his stuff!
Ted helped everything go smoothly during the wedding and made sure that guests were kept entertained, even when the venue was running behind with the dinner entrées. He always knew what to say/do and was never too attention-grabbing. We never felt rushed, and he kept reminding us to take our time. Seeing him so calm and organized, knowing that he had everything under control, helped us feel more relaxed. Even though we had a separate venue coordinator, Ted became our go-to guy if we had any issues come up or needed to take a quick break from the reception.
Also, the music was really important to me, as I love to dance! The dance music/lighting was perfect (he played a combination of his and our songs), and he kept the guests on the dance floor the entire night!
Looking back, I can't believe we almost decided against having a DJ and to just use an iPod playlist! That would have been such an inferior/disastrous experience! Ted does so much more than just play music - he is an entertainment event planner, he is a sound engineer, a lighting/design technician, a professional wedding MC, a wedding coordinator, and a problem solver.
We couldn't have asked for a better DJ, as Ted helped make our wedding so incredibly special and memorable!
