Opal is amazing! I was having an overwhelming time finding a photographer. I reached out, Opal set up a time to chat, talk about what we were looking for and was just so nice/ understanding. Booking her was the best decision! We did an engagement photo session with posed pics as well as candids with our 2 dogs. She was very clear with instruction and patient with the pups. When planning our wedding, the one thing I knew that I wanted was fantastic pictures so I started my search for a great photographer. Opal came highly recommended by our venue, the Bodega Bay Lodge, and after looking at her work and meeting up with her, we decided we wanted to work with Opal. I am so happy we did. Up until the wedding, Opal was so great answering our questions and helping us prepare. When the day came, I was so impressed with her. My husband and I were awkward when taking pictures and Opal stepped in right away, directing us and positioning us so that our pictures would turn out. Throughout the whole night, Opal was everywhere! When people were taking pictures, she would be right there to take a picture as well. Our guests commented on what a great job she did capturing our moments. Then we got the pictures and wow!! I could not believe how amazing they look. We have not even been able to choose which pictures we want because they all look so great. As we have distributed to our family, they too are blown away by the pictures. Besides the fantastic quality, Opal did such a great job capturing every single guest, including taking photographs for the couples who attended. I am so happy we decided to work with Opal and cannot recommend her enough. We will definitely work with her again!

We hired Opal and her team at Sweetbay Photography for the videography and photo booth at our wedding. They are WONDERFUL!! Extremely communicative, professional, and super nice! Our guests LOVED the photo booth and Opal even sent us home with a beautiful album with pasted photo booth photos and love messages written by our guests which was such a special treat to get to see immediately after our wedding day! We received our highlight reel and full video footage on an engraved drive just a few weeks later that also arrived in an engraved wooden box. The video is ABSOLUTELY beautiful!! Wing, the videographer, captured everything we could have hoped for using multiple cameras for different angles and the quality is incredibly professional. We felt like we were watching a rom-com!! Having Opal as our wedding photographer ended up being one of the highlights of our planning process and our big day! She is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but Opal was also a joy to work with from start to finish. I found Opal via research on The Knot. I loved her Web site portfolio, so I reached out - she very promptly responded and offered her availability to have a phone conversation. I found Opal to be knowledgable, passionate, empathetic and a great listener - I knew from that conversation that we'd found our photographer! After that, Opal made it very easy from an administrative perspective to sign a contract and make payment. Several months before the wedding, Opal met my fiancé and I at our venue so that she could get to know us in person and get the lay of the land in order to plan her strategy for how she would best use her time on our wedding day. We walked away from that meeting feeling so confident and happy that we'd have the privilege of being photographed by such a pro. On our big day, Opal arrived early and ready to go! She made my fiancé, myself and our friends & family instantly comfortable - all of our guests who interacted with Opal that day felt exactly the same way we did about her. She was so professional and struck the perfect balance of providing gentle direction and also blending right in. There were moments I forgot there was even a photographer with us! Opal sent us the link to our gallery in less than a week and the photographs far exceeded my expectations. I had said in our first conversation that our biggest desire was to capture the spirit of our favorite people being together and enjoying each other - Opal beyond delivered on that vision and so much more! Aside from the amazing candids that were our primary goal, she also ensured we had more traditional portraits of us with our families and of just my husband & I as well. I cried (tears of happiness!) the first time I looked through the photos. They perfectly capture the many emotions of the day. Opal is absolutely amazing, she photographed my wife and I’s wedding with Vinh as her second photographer. They were both extremely easy to work with from the time we had our consultation until our big day. She made us feel so comfortable during the photo shoots that it felt easy to relax and really get some great photos taken. Our pictures turned out amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She knew exactly where to have everyone stand and even her candid photos during the reception really captured the magic of the day. We hired Opal to photograph our wedding and we are so glad we did! She was friendly, thorough, and was very easy to work with! Never did we feel like she was pushing a bigger package or not seeing the vision we had for our big day. Her prices are excellent and she was amazing with the few kids we had in photos! Opal is the absolute best! She photographed our Napa wedding in November and also did our engagement photos. Our wedding day would not have ran 1/2 as smooth if it wasn't for opal and her assistant. She is so organized, patient, and is great with kids. She also got our photos back super quick and they are stunning. We also used her photobooth and it was totally worth it and super fun. Opal is amazing! She photographed my husband and I’s wedding back in August and did a fantastic job. As soon as we met her we loved her energy and obvious experience. She also photographed our engagement photos which were beautiful even though the weather wasn’t very cooperative. Opal and her crew deserve 6 stars! I met Opal about a year ago to discuss mine and my now husbands wants and wishes for our wedding. She was so easy-going that made the whole process comfortable. She emailed us, in advance, PDF's to complete that was vey helpful, because it completed our special requests. She stayed in constant contact with us, which made me feel unforgotten. The day before our big day, her and her team visited the venue to go over last minute touches, look at the venue for picture perfect spots. It was all so seamless. The day of our wedding the photobooth was a big hit, the actual photographer was amazing! She received so many complements. She even was assisting to mine and my husbands needs for the day, constantly checking in on us. Just amazing-above and beyond. Then literally a month later, we received our photos that we have access to for a YEAR! Opal's prices are so reasonable and does amazing work, deserves every penny! Our photographer Alicia did an amazing job at our wedding. She was kind, funny, and got amazing shots throughout the day! I’m so excited to see the final results. I was not sure about the cost of the photos, it was a big expense. The results were worth 10X what I paid, seriously. We hired Opal for our engagement and wedding photos, and let me tell you how great our experience was! Since I first contacted Opal, she was able to provide guidance on a place and style of photography, since we were new to the area. She also provided a lot of expert advice and was very easy to work with. Communication went very well, and we both felt that everything went smooth from the contract to payments, and receiving our pictures. On the day of our wedding, Opal took great candid photos, making the love storytelling very special! In addition, she also recommended a videographer from her team to do a Live YouTube streaming for our Minimony / Virtual wedding, which was fabulous!

Opal is amazing at her job! She got some really great shots of the party, the ceremony, before the ceremony. She got really important and loving shots which looked so natural and alive. Also she is very vocal on what she wants during the wedding for pictures so you don’t have to worry about people stepping all over to get a picture with you. She has everything in order so that people get their picture and wait their turn. Definitely hiring again.

Opal was amazing to work with! She photographed our "mini" ceremony as we had to change our big celebration to next year. She was great at communicating and was very easy to work with. She was calm and laid back, but very good at giving everyone direction and getting the job done. Our photos are incredible! Our friends and family that couldn't join have raved about them. She got all the photos done we had talked about and then some. The lighting was excellent and not over exposed in the photos. She is great to work with and we would definitely recommend her!

Opal was everything we wanted and more in a wedding photographer. We booked for her a 3-hour session to cover our intimate ceremony and take family photos. Communication with her was extremely prompt and easy going. Opal showed up 30 minutes early before coverage was set to begin to scope out the venue and was fully prepared to begin right at the time we had set. The venue was extremely windy, so much so that one of the large vases we had completely shattered. But the high wind situation was not a problem for Opal. She handled it with such professionalism and captured shots where our hair seemed to blow perfectly in the wind. During the ceremony we hardly even noticed her. But somehow when we received the photos, she had managed to get photos from every single angle. After the ceremony, Opal was quick and efficient with directing the party for family photos. Knowing that we had a short window booked, she made sure to fully utilize the time we had and returned to us a generous amount of photos. We not only appreciated the quantity but also the quality of the photos. There were so many emotions captured, it really helps us relive the day. Without us mentioning anything Opal realized that the photos were potentially time-sensitive and she made it her priority to return us the photos asap. For that, we are forever grateful. Opal was a doll!! We had to completely change our wedding plans due to 2020 being an insane year I was worried I was not going to be able to find a photographer but Opal saved the day! She was able to fit us in before another late afternoon wedding and took great pictures. She was kind and had a great attitude, she even helped my mom figure out what side the boutonnières go on :) Her photos were beautiful and a great blend of candids and posed images. She never "got in the way" I hardly realized she was there most of the time. She turned around the photos so fast! When we need to take baby announcement photos I'm going to hire her again!!

We cannot say enough good things about Sweetbay Photography. We had a change of venue for the wedding reception (thanks, Covid) and had to get a photographer who could travel to St Helene on short notice. Opal was so terrific. We communicated over phone and email as I live in the midwest. She spent the time to get a real sense of what we wanted, showed up early to scout the location for perfect shots, got some terrific detailed photos of the settings and ambiance, and made sure that she covered everything we had hoped for and more. The photos were delivered quickly, and honestly, there was not a bad one in the bunch. She even identified some selects and converted them to black and white, which was really striking. She is truly outstanding and we recommend her without reservation!

What an amazing photographer! Not only is Opal kind and easy to work with, but she’s also extremely good at what she does. While we were all running around, preoccupied with pre -event activities and stress, she came in and got great photos and, well, it just felt like she belonged there with us the whole time she was there. She was great with my cantankerous baby, managing to get him to smile for tons of beautiful photos throughout the day. Her experience is evident by the way she seamlessly made her way around the event, all day, got all the photos you never even realized you needed and she even bustled my dress for me at the reception.
