We first met Sydney in Jan of 2020 with an anticipated wedding date of Nov 2020. Our wedding was pushed back a year and Sydney was still with us every step of the way. Sydney and her partner photographer took control on our wedding day and made things run so smoothly. She listened to everything we wanted and was able to navigate both our families. Our guests loved having her snap photos of them all throughout our reception. From sunrise Brooklyn Bridge engagement photos to Brooklyn sunset rooftop vows, Sydney told our love story through her beautiful art. other words, we didn't want the typical "walking in Central Park holding hands" pictures. We wanted something with more edge and personality, and after seeing Sydney's work and meeting with her, we knew she was the right person to capture our special day. Sydney works half the year in LA and the other half in NYC, but we had no problem scheduling our engagement pictures or booking her for our wedding day. Sydney responded quickly to all of our inquiries over email or text. She always remained professional, but super approachable and casual; even making herself available to help me choose my engagement shoot outfit! She made us feel so comfortable and at ease during our engagement and wedding shoot, and our pictures came out better than we could've hoped. Don't worry, the awkward poses she makes you do will turn out great! Sydney and her assistant were fantastic the day of our wedding. She helped us stay on schedule, while ensuring we captured all the shots we had requested. She is not the "in your face" photographer that will boss you and your guests around. However, if you give her a detailed list of all the moments you want to capture, she will certainly make sure to do it. She captured so many candid moments throughout the night that we will cherish forever. She is also wicked fast at turning around your pictures, so no need to wait for weeks like many of my friends who also got married last year (some are still waiting for their pics)! We are really happy with how everything turned out and highly recommend Sydney.

rom now. A friend, however, did a shoot with Sydney that was so gorgeous, and we decided that we SHOULD be celebrating our engagement - so we reached out to book a photo session. Sydney met up with us while vacationing in Big Bear, and turned our awkward giggly selves into warm, glowy, beautiful photos celebrating our love and this time in our lives. She's laid back and makes the session fun (even for the photo-averse, like my fiance, haha) and she turned the photos around so impressively quickly. As expected, they are drop-dead gorgeous, and she does some super cool and creative prism-y effects that feel like magic. Makes the whole engagement feel so much more real - thank you Sydney!!!

Thankfully I came across Sydney's work which suited the aesthetic I wanted and our meeting went off without a hitch. I booked Sydney for a surprise proposal shoot at North Brooklyn Farms and she was amazing throughout the whole process. On the day of, she helped calm my nerves and listened to what I had imagined the shots would look like. My now fiance is more self-conscious about being photographed but she was also able to make her feel comfortable even though we ended up walking around more populated areas. A month or so later, my fiance also booked her for a second surprise proposal. We got some really fun, whimsical shots around the Bushwick Collective before convening at the Brooklyn Cider House. I had no idea what was planned next but Sydney played right into Paula's plans perfectly and so naturally that I never suspected all our friends were waiting in a back room and Sydney was able to capture the surprise moment perfectly. We will cherish these photos forever and are beyond ecstatic with how they turned out. After all that's happened (and all the secrets Sydney was able to keep!) we feel like we've gained a friend throughout this process. She really took the time to get to know us as a couple and I feel that was reflected in the photos she took of us. The photos are stunning & intimate. We love our dog so much and obviously wanted to include her in our photos, too. To be honest, I am not an extroverted person at all and was a little nervous to have my photo taken and be directed to do certain poses, etc. But Sydney made the whole process super fun & painless. She was incredibly flexible in her schedule- I had asked her a few days before the wedding to come to the ceremony 30 minutes earlier than originally planned. She informed me that she kept her entire day open for my wedding. The pictures turned out amazing, the entire family loved them. Sydney captured the candid shots during the ceremony and then guided myself and my husband around the park for some fun, edgy shots. I loved the mix of traditional and edgy as it suited everyone's preferences. Working with Sydney felt like working with a close friend, she's easygoing, personable, and funny. I definitely recommend her for wedding photography!

arted the day very early at the hotel getting ready. She was there taking photos of our parents, getting my makeup done etc. She made sure to shoot every detail from my rings and dress to my mother zipping up my wedding dress. She caught the most beautiful private moments. My husband having a hug with his dad, my mom looking into the mirror at her suit proudly and my husband and I saying goodbye so that I could my dress on and surprise him. These are the little things that matter so much. She is the kind of person who is so easy to be around and incredibly professional. You really feel like she's part of the family not just a random photographer to shoot the most intimate moments of your day. It just felt right. From the ceremony, to the mini party to the big party, it was a LONG day and she was there for all of it. Looking at the photos makes it seem like yesterday that it happened and not four years ago. I guess that's because she captured all of it perfectly, never missing anything and we are eternally grateful for that.

She also let us suggest photo ideas ahead of time, and let us know what to expect in return, so we'd feel prepared on the day of the wedding. She even drove to NH from NYC for us and didn't complain (what a trooper)! She had all the photos edited and ready to be shared just one week after the wedding, which was an unexpected pleasure, and it was easy to download them and share them online. With two brides at one wedding, there can be a lot of stress, but Sydney handled everything with aplomb. We would definitely recommend her!
