Synapse Entertainment was recommended to us by a coworker and all I can say is that I owe that coworker big time! DJ Ivan was so easy to work with, was prompt with his communications, and helped keep us on track with reminders. Ivan used an app with questions about the wedding day and with which we entered our selected songs. The app worked amazingly (no issues at all!) and helped my husband and me keep track of what songs we needed and why. Our guests kept telling us how much they loved the music and how great of a job our DJ did. We cannot recommend Synapse enough!!

Ivan was the BEST vendor we booked for our wedding. We loved working with him and he made our night extremely memorable with a lively dance floor. DJ Ivan helped keep the reception running smoothly, even with last minute changes. He also helped us minimize downtime when I added too much buffer. He kept our dance floor busy, even getting some people up to dance who aren't really dancers! Also the quality of the audio for the speeches was excellent.

Ivan did an AMAZING job DJing our wedding! My husband and I don't listen to traditional "pop dance music" and didn't give him much to go on but he somehow figured out the perfect mix that we loved and our guests loved. We even had some specific requests regarding the timing of the music during the ceremony which he was able to accommodate like it was no problem. During the wedding, every interaction with him was easy, professional, and enjoyable.

Synapse Entertainment was exceptional to work with! From the beginning, Ivan communicated frequently and you could feel his excitement! Our DJ made our wedding a success! I can't say enough good things about him. He was very quick to respond to any email or text I sent, he was professional and organized, he set up a call before the event to go over music choices and make sure everything was in order. I'm not the best person with music so he gave many amazing suggestions and put together a perfect playlist based on the type of music I told him we would like. The day of the wedding he was amazing at gather my guests into the right spots and making sure everyone was where they needed to be. He made the night flow smoothly and announced everything at the perfect time, which was so helpful because there is so much going on the day of the wedding I would not be able to keep myself on track! The music was amazing, every song transitioned perfectly and I have never seen so many people on the dance floor at a wedding, the guests danced and sang along to every song! I would highly recommend using him for any event!

DJ Ivan was great to work with from meeting to planning to the main event. He was professional and courteous throughout, he asked lots of questions to be able to cater to our preferences, and his planning app made it so easy to organize all the songs we wanted in all the specific places. We met again a few weeks prior to the wedding to go over everything we put in the app - so on the day of we didn't need to worry about communicating or checking in with Ivan which was nice since we had other things to worry about! We were mic'd up for the ceremony and that went well, cocktail hour music was good mixing and volume for people to chat and such. The DJing for dancing was great - we had told Ivan our crowd was maybe 5/10 dancy-ness but then almost everyone ended up on the dance floor and had a great time! We're very happy with how everything went and the ease of working with Ivan.

DJ Ivan was the perfect vendor for our wedding reception! The planning process was made easy through the planning app and quick to repond communication back and forth with him. You can tell he genuinely wants to make your wedding reception the best night ever and wants your guests to have a great time. He can feel the vibe of the room and read the audience to make the playlist according to them. Ivan was very professional, organized, friendly, and the price was very reasonable to hire him! Hiring DJ Ivan was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! He is a true professional, so eloquent and bright, and an outstanding DJ. We were so impressed with his initial presentation upon our first meeting and knew we wanted to hire him right away. Ivan did a fantastic job! We loved using the DJ app he had to choose our important songs for special moments, plus the type of music we wanted to hear at the cocktail hour, dinner, and on the dance floor! He was wonderful about directing the night, including speeches and timeline and worked great with our other vendors to make everything as smooth as possible. Plus, he kept us, our friends, and our family dancing all night long!

Absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish. Ivan was attentive to our needs and wants and curated the experience to fit exactly what we wanted for our wedding. He was easy to contact and scheduled 3 calls with us over Zoom before the wedding so that he could understand the vibe we were going for. Down to exactly where we wanted songs cut for dances, Ivan followed up with EVERYTHING to the letter. He is an incredibly kind person, and his DJ skills are top notch - he mixed some of our requested songs together and our guests loved it, multiple 20-somethings who attend tons of weddings each year told us this was the best wedding DJ they had ever experienced. Our wedding was two weeks ago and we are still talking about how wonderful DJ Ivan made our event. Not to be dramatic, but we are his #1 fans. He was the best vendor decision we made for our entire wedding. From the beginning, he was kind, understanding, and listened intently to what we wanted, which was probably not your standard wedding playlist. We were out of state from our venue and he accommodated us and got to know us over Zoom, responded to all inquires very quickly, gave us a very user-friendly app to better understand our music tastes and wedding preferences, and when we got into town he was kind enough to take us out to lunch and get to know us better. He is calm and collected but also has the meticulous nature to ensure that he pronounced every bridesmaid’s name just right and was sensitive to complicated family dynamics during announcements. He was truly the driver of our reception timeline and made sure that everything happened smoothly; thankfully the logistics went off without a hitch with his hard work and it was lovely to have one less thing to worry about during our wedding day. We did not have much money to spend on our wedding, and we DIYed a lot of it. Initially, I naively wondered whether it was necessary to even hire a DJ; I love music and can make my own playlists. I was very wrong, and I’m glad I met with him to learn about everything he does - he runs the logistics, delivers the many announcements that are central to a wedding, ensures that the (often clueless) wedding party knows what they need to do, etc etc. Truly not sure what we would have done without him. The music, most importantly, was perfect. He honored our weird requests, which extended from oldies to Crazy Frog to Lincoln Park, and mixed them in a super fun way. People were on the dance floor literally all night, and that’s exactly what I wanted. He knows how to read a crowd and artfully serve their needs. He is a talented DJ who is responsible, dedicated, and has truly mastered his craft. Though I am based in another state now, I would enthusiastically recommend him to any of my friends who are still in Northeast Ohio. We would make the same DJ choice over and over again. Having Ivan as our DJ was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! He took care of everything, we didn’t have to worry about a thing! Our guests were SO impressed at how efficient and smooth everything ran with him as the MC. They were obsessed with his playlist and it was so easy for him to get everyone on the dance floor. We had a situation where one of our guests passed out and Ivan handled the situation like a pro. He even got the crowd back on the dance floor right after everyone was safe and taken care of, he did the unthinkable! And on top of him being an amazing DJ and MC, he was so kind. Our guests loved talking to him and he made sure to put mine and my husband’s wishes above everything else. You have to book Synapse Entertainment, you will be so happy you did!!

I can't recommend Ivan and Synapse Entertainment enough. Ivan read the room perfectly, knew what songs to cut short and what to play out, and was the perfect blend of mixing and cutting and just playing the hits. We got compliments all night about how good the DJ was and how packed the dance floor was. These guys will make your wedding better.

We used Dj Ivan for our wedding at Stillwater at the Cleveland zoo on Sunday July 3rd! Ivan was so easy to work with and was great at communicating. We met the week before our wedding to do a final music walk through, as well as used his awesome app to constantly add songs to our wedding playlist. I Would recommend Synapse Entertainment to a family member or friend in an instant.

DJ Ivan did a phenomenal job at our wedding! He is very professional, asks the right questions and is very detail oriented. The dance floor was a big hit all night! At the end of the night everyone wanted an encore because we were having so much fun! You can tell that he really loves music and being a DJ. From the first meeting to the day of the wedding, Ivan was excellent at communicating everything from introductions to cake cutting and toasts. He is flexible and caters to your needs. I prepared a special acoustic guitar performance for my wife and he helped to provide sound check, cables and mic to make sure it went perfectly. The speaker system sounded awesome too! No need to look any further for a DJ!

This is your wedding DJ. Ivan was an absolute dream to work with. My husband and I weren't quite sure what exactly we wanted as far as music aside from a few special songs. we went over likes and dislikes and Ivan did the rest. He helped us keep pace for the reception events and kept all of the partiers at my wedding dancing and the older crowd was happy too! If there was an issue, he and his assistant Imani, jumped right in to fix it. I can't recommend them enough.

Ivan was the easiest person to work with and made our day incredible! We had to make a last minute call based on weather at noon when our ceremony was at 4 and he was incredible! Highly highly recommend!

We hired Synapse for our wedding. We were so happy with our decision! Ivan was great to work with. He was prompt, courteous and easy to work with during the planning process and the day of. He had an app to input songs into which made choosing songs for the wedding easy and quick. Ivan was willing to assist with a lot of the timeline details for the wedding too. We didn’t need him to due to having a day of coordinator however we were thankful to have the option. He worked really well with the coordinator to ensure things went off seamlessly. Ivan had never been to our venue, at Happy Days Lodge before our wedding but made every effort to become familiar with it. We had our ceremony outdoors, cocktail hour in the on-site screened in porch and reception in the hall. Ivan was able to provide sound seamlessly from one part of the day to the next. He fit himself to exactly what we needed for our day and provided great music selections to add to our picks. We even received a little gift after our wedding from him in the mail. I hired Synapse Entertainment for my son's wedding. DJ Ivan worked closely with my son and his fiance in the planning stages. Emphasis was placed on the playlist, special movements and the manner in which he would present himself, to refect the couple's style. Ivan was professional, courtious and easy to work with at a reasonable price. Guests had a fantastic time and we rocked the dance floor all night long.

Ivan was so excellent to work with!! He kept consistent communication with us, let us give him a playlist of our preferred songs, and added his own to match our musical interests! Guests were on the dance floor all night, he had smooth transitions from each song and we loved working with him! He was so nice and professional throughout the whole experience!! We highly recommend him, you won’t be disappointed!!

If I could give more than 5 stars to DJ Ivan, I would. He was an incredible DJ. He had great suggestions for ceremony music and accepted versions of songs that we cut ourselves. For the reception, the dance floor was packed the entire night. There weren't more than 15-20 people of our 140 person wedding that were sitting down and not dancing. We gave DJ Ivan a lot of freedom in his choice of songs, so he ended up playing more classic, older songs that everyone loved (mostly early-mid 20 friends and older family).

Ivan was really, really a fantastic DJ. He was very professional, from start to finish. There were no issues with set-up. Ivan was happy to accommodate whatever dress code we had. He was also extremely kind and accommodating with respect to our music of choice. We planned the wedding in a relatively short period of time (6 months), so we chose our music within the two weeks or so before the wedding. He didn't complain at all and in fact was very supportive. He also didn't stray from our list of requests (specifically, there were some songs we asked NOT to have played, and he didn't play them). Finally, he transitioned the songs nicely- we had classical/jazz types of music during the cocktail hour/dinner, started with oldies that our whole group could relate to during the initial dancing part of the reception, with more modern songs later (after our parents' generation needed to rest). There was a lot less of the get up/sit down that occurred for guests due to poor transitions between songs than I have experienced at other weddings. One of the most important things to us was to not have the music be loud or intrusive, especially during the dinner. Ivan did a wonderful job; he really gauged it just right. He was also receptive to requests from people. I was also so happy that he didn't spend a lot of time talking; I never like it when the DJ spends a lot of time gabbing at the mike during wedding receptions. His voice, when he did talk, was also gentle and unintrusive. In short, he was a fantastic DJ. His prices were also much more reasonable than for many other DJs we looked at. I would hire him again in a heartbeat- easiest decision I would have to make were I planning another wedding!

We couldn't have asked for a better DJ than Ivan to emcee our big day. He was kind, thoughtful in the questions he asked, and diligent in how he prepared; meeting with us before the wedding, attending our walkthrough, and making sure that we operated as a team in deciding how his work would be executed. The wedding itself went off without a hitch, and the positive energy that Ivan brought was a huge part of that. It's also worth mentioning that while Ivan was prepared to put together his own playlist for the evening, he allowed us to instead provide him with a list of all the songs we wanted to include. He took that list, and placed it into a mix that allowed the night's festivities to evolve perfectly. To this day, our friends almost unanimously point to our wedding dance floor as having been the best they had experienced.

My husband is in A/V and was super picky about sound quality, lighting, and everything in between. DJ Ivan listened to our needs, had patience, and really made sure our event went off without any hiccups. It was perfect - he got the crowd going, listened to us in the styles of music we enjoyed, and made it all inclusive for all of our guests. Everybody was telling us how wonderful the music was! It was impossible to not have a good time. Thank you so much!!!

Fantastic DJ that understands flow and tempo. DJ Ivan was fantastic! Not a single person was in their chair the entire evening (and we had 180 guests!). We had a last minute request for additional AV equipment which we ended up not using, but he stepped up to the plate to make sure our needs could be accommodated. He understands the flow of crowds and how to keep things moving throughout the night. Additionally, he will work with you -- and only you-- to make sure your favorite music doesn't get overtaken by guests with requests. He really made our evening into something special by playing a diverse set of fan favorites and by meeting personal preferences! 10 out of 10 would hire again (plus the price is RIGHT!)! Update: I wrote the above review two years ago after our wedding. My wife and I are still getting rave reviews about our dance floor and we have gotten numerous inquiries about DJ Ivan. People are always sad to hear that the DC region has lost him to Ohio. He was that. damn. good.

Ivan of Synapse Entertainment was the DJ at my son's wedding reception and I have nothing but praise for him. He is personable, professional, experienced and polished. Ivan is a clear and confident speaker and a very creative music mixer. Our guest were kept entertained on the dance floor as evidenced by their smiles and sweat on their bodies. You can't go wrong by hiring Ivan for your next event.

DJ Ivan was awesome from start to finish. We didn't have to worry about a thing with him, which really relieved us and allowed us to cross one thing off the very long list of preparations early on. Our venue was the National Aquarium - an unusual layout for good audio setup - but he contacted the venue and figured it all out without adding any stress on us. He's very professional and an EXCELLENT communicator - which, as it turns out - not all vendors are. We had one casual in-person meeting where we discussed our tastes in music, which songs we absolutely wanted and which songs we absolutely didn't want to hear. He was very knowledgable and shared valuable advice from his several years of experience. My husband and I are both metal-heads, I also really enjoy trip hop and my family is from the Caribbean so they love them some Soca. Somehow DJ Ivan was able to accommodate all of it seamlessly, adding in some more well-known music here and there so that everyone had something to enjoy. DJ Ivan really set the tone for a truly magical and ethereal night.

We could not be happier with our choice to have Ivan as our DJ. He was cordial, organized, friendly, and fun. His music taste is fantastic and was perfectly suited to our recommendations for the reception (and we are both extremely picky)! Our guests packed out the dance floor, which was largely thanks to Ivan. Thanks, Ivan! You did an amazing job.

DJ Ivan made our wedding day run flawlessly. His management of ceremony audio and reception music were perfect. DJ Ivan also served as a great MC. He is the definition of a true professional. From the planning process through execution, he was punctual, professional, communicative and polite. He made the music and audio portion of our wedding easy and worry free for us.

Ivan is a professional, and knows how to read a crowd. He consults ahead of the event to make sure that your every request is met. Once the evening started, I never worried about the DJ. That in itself is a tribute to his skill! He played every song we requested ahead of time, took requests during the evening, and even stayed an hour later without complaint. ...there was a charge for OT, which is fine - but we never had to discuss it during the evening. Very professional. I will hire him again for ANY event!

We first met DJ Ivan at a small wedding Open House event hosted at a photographer's studio. He was easy to talk to and was play some great music, so we took note. When we contacted him about being our wedding DJ, he was very responsive. When we set up an in-person introductory meeting, he was prepared with all the right questions, forms to help us plan our music, questions about us/our family/traditions, etc. We felt very comfortable working with him. Ivan was always available by phone or email, worked hard to find our music selections including some polka numbers for a wedding march. With fairly short notice, he even helped source and set-up our lighting (uplighting, vertigo lights, cake light), all while staying within our budget. Ivan is pleasant, flexible and responsive; we highly recommend him!
