Taberna del Alabardero first opened in Madrid in 1974 and made the journey to Washington, DC in 1989. The first restaurant in Madrid was located opposite the Royal Palace, and its name was taken from the royal guard. Back in DC, it was the first Spanish restaurant in the city and won the Honorary Milestone Rammy Award on its thirtieth anniversary. Chef Carlos Gómez Segovia prides himself on his traditional Spanish cuisine and carefully chooses the ingredients to use.

The smallest dining room, Amalur, can seat up to 8 people for an intimate rehearsal dinner. This library setting creates a cozy atmosphere where you can spend time with your closest companions. The main dining room can comfortably accommodate up to 140 guests and can be divided into three smaller event spaces. With large windows that look onto the patio, this dining space is filled with natural light.
