Located in Washington DC, Taberna del Alabardero is an elegant venue for restaurant weddings. Just steps from the White House, this charming space offers an unforgettable setting for your milestone day. A team of friendly event staff is on hand to help you bring your wedding day vision to life. Taberna del Alabardero first opened in Madrid in 1974 and made the journey to Washington DC in 1989. The first restaurant in Madrid was located in front of the Royal Palace of Madrid and took its name from the royal guard. Back in DC, it was the first Spanish restaurant in the city and won the Honorary Milestone Rammy Award on its thirtieth anniversary. Chef Carlos Gómez Segovia prides himself on his traditional Spanish cuisine, and carefully chooses the ingredients to use. Taberna del Alabardero has several different event spaces that you can choose from for your wedding day festivities. These are the bar, the chic patio, and a selection of dining rooms. The smallest dining room, Amalur, can seat up to 8 people for an intimate rehearsal dinner. This library setting creates a cozy atmosphere where you can spend time with your closest companions. The main dining room can comfortably accommodate up to 140 guests and can be divided into three smaller event spaces. With large windows that look onto the patio, this dining space is filled with natural light. The room's decor exudes character, with patterned drapes, comfortable seating, and walls covered in photos. The culinary team here can take care of catering for both on-site and off-site events, with menu items including tapas, paella, and sangria. Special options are available for those who eat gluten-free and vegetarian.
