I had the best experience with Taffeta Weddings for my wedding makeup! From the very start, they were super easy to talk to and really took the time to listen to what I wanted. I knew I wanted something natural yet stunning, and they totally nailed it! Kat gave me great suggestions without pushing anything I wasn’t comfortable with, which I really appreciated.
On the big day, Kat & Nikki were calm, relaxed, and right on time. It made the whole getting-ready process so much easier and fun. The makeup was flawless—it stayed perfect all day, even through all the tears and dancing. I felt so beautiful and confident, and I got so many compliments!
I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I’m so grateful for how wonderful I felt with Kat’'s work. I highly recommend Taffeta Bridal to any bride! Thank you for making me feel like the best version of myself on my special day!
If Taffeta put HALF as much time into communicating with theirs brides as they do posting on Instagram this would be a better review. This salon is all social media, they do not deliver. I was a September 2024 bride and my only regret was booking this company.
I cannot stress enough how UNORGANIZED this bridal salon is. I thought booking hair/makeup at the same company would be easiest, less hectic and better vibes on wedding but boy was I wrong. Require full payment 6 months out and then it’s crickets to get a reply, which is unnerving obviously- you would think since they know they have your money they would be a bit more attentive to their brides. They are an agency so you have no say in your artist, the same 1 artists is tagged in their posts so you cannot see artists portfolios, and all of mine were independent artists so therefore there is no accountability, they don’t even know half the policies Taffeta requires of their brides and Taffeta acts as a conduit for communication- so it took forever to confirm anything. The communication is awful, took weeks to reply on appointments THEY made with me! I left 3 messages to their bridal concierge over summer months as a result of not getting an email reply after 28 days and nobody ever called me back….ever. I was given 4 different timelines from 3 different people literally up to 2 days before my wedding AND STILL ALL 3 ARTISTS WERE LATE ON MY WEDDING DAY and the WRONG amount of Hair and Makeup Artists were sent. There wasn’t enough time for all the services I paid for due to the companies mistakes & hair, makeup adjustments were made to fit the timeline- the owner knew all of this and the apology I received (after asking for one) was basically sorry but it would’ve worked out.
Save yourself the stress and nerve, book somewhere else brides!!
Taffeta's team was amazing! I used them for hair for myself and all my girls and it was flawless! Our hair held all day and looked amazing even after dancing all night. I had Lexi and Alexa and they were a perfect team. They were so kind and so much fun to spend time with. We had an issue the day before my wedding and needed a new second hair stylist and Connie jumped into action to fix the situation. She made it so seamless and immediately made a plan. I would definitely recommend using Taffeta!

September 2022 bride and I could not recommend Taffeta more! I requested Gabrielle as I connected with her and loved her work when I trialed their salon. We also had Jeannine who did an amazing job on our makeup. They were timely and fun to get ready with for the big day! All my girls were happy with their hair and makeup and everyone looked great! I will definitely be going back to Taffeta salon!
Loved working with Taffeta! I had a big bridal party plus flower girls and everything went so smoothly, we were even done a little early. Tressa did my hair and Christine did my makeup, could not thank them enough for making me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! The team was amazing and everyone looked stunning!
poor customer service, not helpful whatsoever. you'll get lost trying to find how to inquire in their website and someone just telling you to inquire and hit inquire button doesn't directly tell you how to get there and where to find it after explaining it's my first time on their website they are still lacking effort or knowledge of understanding customers Yung to find a way how to get to inquire. why make your customer go through all that trouble instead of just asking the customer what they need and what services they can offer and prices. Very lazy approach to customers and if your the bride, don't waste your effort or time. Time is a waste.

Tressa and Christine were amazing, and so happy I worked with Taffeta!!! We had to cancel our big wedding and decided to elope on super short notice and Taffeta was so nice and flexible in letting me change my package. Tressa and Christine were amazing on the big day and felt just like hanging with my best girls, plus they made me look stunning!!!! Can’t thank them enough for glamming me up on the most wonderful day of my life!! Definitely work with them!
I would highly recommend Taffeta hair and makeup! They were very accommodating and responsive! We were a group of eight getting hair done, and it was all done very quick and efficiently! Everyone was complimented on how beautifully done hair and makeup was!
Taffeta hair and make-up design were an amazing group of extremely talented women who helped make myself and every other bridesmaid a "better" version of themselves. I had been stressed trying to find a hair and make up team after the first make-up artist I had done a trial with didn’t pan out. I was referred to Taffeta by another bride that I knew personally, and she raved about them. I had a large bridal party, and was pretty adamant that the team would be able to travel to me. As soon as I got on the phone with Gina, their office manager, I knew I had found my girls. She put me completely at ease and walked me through everything, assuring me that I would have enough support to get everybody dolled up in time. She was always quick to respond to all my questions. I felt super comfortable with Lauren and Alex at my trial, and Alex even helped me find the perfect hair piece to match my dress. On the day of the wedding, we had Alex, Lauren, Gabby and Kay handling my party of me plus 10 and 2 flower girls. We’re kind of a chaotic bunch, but they were great, kept things running, and most importantly, everyone looked so awesome! I wanted everyone to be glamorous, but still have it look natural, and they totally delivered. If you are in need of a team to make you the most gorgeous version of yourself on your big day, call Taffeta!
Christine and Tressa from the Taffeta team are the BEST! Both were such a pleasure to work with and all of my bridesmaids and guests couldn't stop talking about how their hair and makeup stayed perfect all day through the night! I had a lot of different hair and skin types in my bridal party, and Christine and Tressa handled all of them perfectly. My bridal makeup and hair looked amazing all night!!

Alex is amazing! I had a destination wedding in Mexico, she flew out the day before & was on time & ahead of schedule wedding morning! Through the humidity, all of our hair held up & everyone looked fabulous all night long! I would absolutely recommend Taffeta for your wedding day services!
Taffeta were a dream to work with. From the initial outreach email, Gina was responsive and made sure I had a clear understanding of their process and pricing. I felt no pressure, but that they wanted to make sure I had all the information and was happy with the decision before signing and putting down a deposit.
I can't recommend Christine and Tressa enough. They were fantastic from the trial to the wedding day. They asked the right questions to make sure they had a clear understanding of what I wanted, and made me feel like the most beautifully elevated version of myself. We took photos before the ceremony, so had a long day, and by the end of the night, everything held up - no need for powder touch-up's and no flyaways or loose hair after outdoor photos on a very windy day, and hours of dancing.
Additionally, Tressa and Christine were a delight to have around on the wedding day. They clearly have a great rapport, and a nice energy to keep your day relaxed and fun! My entire party had a blast spending the morning with them, and all looked stunning!
I truly can't recommend Taffeta and Christine and Tressa enough. Don't waste time looking for another vendor, you'll find their team professional and talented, and pricing very competitive.
Working with Taffeta was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! I work in the beauty industry and am extremely picky and they did NOT disappoint. My bridal party (15 ladies total!!!) and I looked flawless! They were so easy to work with and extremely professional. They stuck to the timeline and all 15 of us were actually done ahead of schedule. It was such a great experience, from the trial to the day of. Alex did my hair and Christine did my makeup and they were so flexible and amazing to work with (Even when I made a last minute decision to wear my hair up) ;) My bridal party is still raving about them.

Booking Taffeta was the best decision I made! Not only did they make me and my 11 person bridal party look absolutely stunning, but they also were professional and so easy to work with. What I liked the most about their team is that they took their time with each of my bridesmaids - each girl looked better than the next! In other weddings I’ve been in, it felt like my makeup and hair was rushed because of poor time management. Obviously the bride comes first, but the hair and makeup people should allocate enough time for each person. Taffeta was great about that and I didn’t have to worry about a thing! Alex, Gina, Kat, Lauren are super talented and a dream to work with!
Tafetta was so responsive and made the entire process so easy from beginning to end. Tressa did an amazing job on everyone's hair and myself and my bridal party were receiving compliments all night. She's so professional and really listens and tries to achieve the look that you want!

Gina was an awesome coordinator and was extremely responsive, and I found Taffeta’s pricing to be very competitive. Both Christine (makeup) and Tressa (hair) are true artists, but also very kind and fun people. I trusted them both completely and knew I was in good hands. I recently had my hair and makeup done here for my engagement photos and I was beyond impressed! I never felt more beautiful! My hair was even better than how I imagined it to be. The makeup looked exactly like the photo I showed and made me feel like a celebrity. Taffeta’s shop is adorable— very cozy and professional. All of the staff members are very helpful and down-to-earth. Alex and Aleshia went above and beyond! I am so excited to use Taffeta on my wedding day! I wouldn’t trust anybody else!

Taffeta Hair and Makeup design far surpassed any expectation I may have had for my wedding day. Their stylist’s and make up artist’s skills and abilities are unmatchable. I had a trial and absolutely loved everything about my look- I felt like a total princess. After a little time went by I had decided to change my overall look for my big day. (Who does that? I asked myself) Anywho I took a total risk and opted out of a second trial and showed the girls pictures of what I wanted the day of. I was so nervous but when they finished and put that mirror in front of me I was completely blown away. They made magic happen and instead of a princess I felt like a total queen. Additionally each and every one of my bridesmaids looked absolutely flawless. They all raved about their looks and were so excited to walk down the aisle and show it off! I could go on and on but bottom line is Taffeta is the absolute BEST at what they do. Definitely #1 in the industry!!

Absolute perfection!! I had THE BEST experience with the Taffeta Hair and Makeup Team AND the Taffeta Barber Club! They are the best all in one package with pampering my entire bridal party as well as the groomsmen! Their responsiveness during the planning process plus their incredible talent with hair & makeup, and Barber services made for a flawless look on our wedding day! Alex is all around amazing! Not only is she incredibly talented, but she is an amazing person inside and out. She makes you feel comfortable from start to end and can do exactly what you want, even when you change your mind a thousand times (like me) lol! Alex and her team are simply phenomenal and truly provide you with a celebrity glam experience. I was in my cousin’s wedding less than 3 months after having my second baby, so needless to say I felt less than my best about standing up at the alter for the wedding. But Alex and Gino took away all my worries and made me look and feel absolutely gorgeous!!

Taffeta Hair & Makeup Design is not only professional, but also does amazing work and is attentive to each and every girl that sits in the chair to get their hair or makeup done. I've been in a bridal party twice with Taffeta as the hair and makeup provider and no other company compares. Brides are at ease knowing Taffeta will show up and take care of themselves and their girls. Everyone is scheduled and ready to go on time for the big day ahead of them.

I had a great experience with Taffeta and would highly recommend them! After two independent stylists backed out (including one of them twice), I was six weeks out from my wedding with no stylist! My photographer recommended Taffeta to save the day. I sent an email via the website, and within hours I had spoken to Gina and had a proposal emailed to me. She was fantastically responsive, and went the extra mile to see if there was a combination hair and makeup stylist available for the day of my wedding (since we had a small party). Working with Taffeta leading up to the wedding was seamless, and Betsy, our stylist, was absolutely lovely. We had great calm conversation all morning, and she was highly responsive to our style requests. We felt and looked amazing, and I cannot thank Taffeta enough for saving the day! Save yourself the trouble, start with Taffeta from the beginning!

I have nothing but great things to say about the Taffeta team. I am a soon-to-be bride and have used the team for my engagement photos, bridal shower, and my bridal trial.... and every time they surpass my expectations. I cannot wait for my November 10th wedding and know I will look and feel absolutely fabulous thanks to Taffeta.
Alex and her team were absolutely amazing. They are the most talented, down to earth group of women and I am so lucky that I found them! Everyone looked so beautiful and natural and I will be referring them to every bride I know! One of my bridesmaids is getting married next fall and she booked them immediately following my wedding. Alex and Kat made the entire process so easy and fun and I can't thank them enough.
I had a really horrible experience with Taffeta and based on a shockingly bad trial have cancelled using Alex and her team on my wedding day. I lost my deposit and trial fees ($500) for cancelling, but really lost a lot of trust at the trial. It was traumatic for me. I chose taffeta because I saw they had a New York team, but that was misleading. I flew in from Los Angeles for wedding prep - and the only weekend time they would accommodate was 10am on a Sunday... In rural South jersey - at the owner's home. So I had to drive nearly 3hours on a Sunday morning. I did not find this accommodating. I found this surprising considering from my research Taffeta is pricier than other similar vendors in the area. But, I made the morning trip work. The first red flag was that when we arrived - Alex (the owner/hair stylist) did not offer me a glass of water. Alex talked the whole time about herself and was literally sweeping like 75% of the trial - while my hair was in curlers and she would occasionally come spray with hairspray. I told her from the start that my hair holds a curl - and I wanted a loose wave. Of course when she took out the curlers I had little ringlets that looked like I was in a high school play. This was not what I expected. When I told her I was not happy with this - I was told it would relax later in the day. It did not. Like I said - my hair holds a curl.
I told the makeup artist that I do not usually wear makeup so I didn't want anything heavy. But he insisted that every bride needs 4 layers of foundation/concealer and an air spray... all a totally different color than the rest of my body. I feel that it is a poor judgement call if someone tells you they don't wear makeup... I think a lot could have been solved if Alex and the makeup artist weren't so rushed - and if they actually listened to me - and did the work in front of a makeup. I just felt like totally ignored in this whole trial and at the end felt just ugly and awful about myself. That is my story. It seems like a lot of people have had great experiences. So maybe it was just an off day - or the wrong fits in terms of the team members - but I just left feeling really sad and anxious. It was a disappointing experience.

m As we explained to prior to your preview, your wedding and location of wedding day services will be in south Jersey; therefore, we chose a south Jersey team for you in order to keep the travel fee for your wedding day as affordable as possible Furthermore, it is important that your preview team is the same team that will be working your wedding As you know from the proposal you signed with us, it is your responsibility to travel to us for your preview when booking our south Jersey team Weekend previews are difficult to schedule due to conflicts with our wedding and event schedules; however, we made accommodations for you since you were flying in for the weekend Your preview day, time and location were mutually agreed upon between you and our team. If we had known this was not acceptable to you, other arrangements could have been discussed to avoid you already feeling inconvenienced prior to your preview even starting 2 Your second concern is difficult to understand Bride's and their families are routinely offered refreshments, the restroom, and anything else they may need during their scheduled preview time 3 It is our practice to set the hair of our Brides,so while it is setting the makeup artist can begin their work 4&5 As you and I discussed during this phase of your preview, the set of the curl should always be tight knowing it will be brushed, combed out, worked with, and relaxed throughout the day. If you remember, as planned, I continued to work with your hair combing it into the style you were hoping for We also took the time to discus any changes and played with other options in the mirror to help achieve the look you want on the wedding day Having never seen or worked with your hair before, the best way to see how your hair will hold up is by styling the hair based off my professional opinion, and then altering the prep and style accordingly for the wedding day (if modifications need to be made) 6 The makeup artist who worked with you for your preview is understandably upset to hear of these concerns a month after your preview took place, rather than addressing your concerns directly that day Unfortunately, neither he nor I were made aware of your unhappiness with your hair or makeup at the time of your preview in early March If we had any indication that you were unsure or unhappy, we would have done everything possible to correct the situation 7 As you were aware when booking your preview, it is normal and expected for a hair and makeup preview to last approximately two hours. Your preview was a full two hours; we are sorry you felt rushed Regarding our policy about deposit, preview, and refund information: this is clearly stated in our proposal which you agreed to when you signed the proposal We sincerely apologize for all your concerns We do take enormous pride in our work and never want a bride, or anyone else, to leave feeling unhappy It is unfortunate that we were not given the opportunity to rectify the situation; as we would have been happy to have a second trial with you to be sure that your concerns were addressed and you were 100% satisfied We strive in customer satisfaction, and feel just as disappointed as you that things did not work out
Wonderful!!! Choosing a beauty team is so nerve-wracking, but when I finally found Taffeta, I could breathe easy!! I trusted their artists completely and everyone was so great to work with. Amazing styles, so welcoming, and my entire bridal party loved them!! Highly recommend!!

Such style, class, and artistry! Taffeta has it all. They made my daughter's wedding day just perfect. From the flower girls, bridesmaids, bride, and grandmother of the bride, everyone was thrilled with their results. Geno, Lauren, and Courtney were amazing. As for the mom of the bride, Kat and Alex worked their magic with me. The entire group was great to work with, from booking to trial to wedding, all was seamless perfection. Their compassion and understanding helped to make what could have been a stressful day into a fun and happy occasion. Taffeta is just wonderful - I can't say enough great things about this company!

I have been a bridesmaid in ten weddings and have never really liked how my hair and makeup looked when done by the provided stylists--until now! I had my hair and makeup done by Taffeta for our engagement pictures and I knew then that they were going to be the perfect vendor for our wedding day! I even had Alex put in extensions for me the week before our wedding because my hair is very thin and I wanted to wear it down and it was all still curled at the end of our reception! I had so many people compliment my hair and makeup and my bridesmaids were all ecstatic with how theirs turned out! The BEST experience of my life! If there was a sixth star I would add it. From the moment I spoke to the owner Alexandra Jenkins, I was impressed. She was knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and confident about what she does. I booked her for my best friends wedding reception ( April 2016) and my wedding (October 2016) we had hair and make up done in April and couldn't have been happier. I have used various "glam squads" throughout the country and consider myself more particular. Alex and Lauren walked into the room and immediately understood what we were looking for and created it. They had a schedule to keep us on time ( which I need) they were friendly, caring and beyond talented!! Experts in all areas of hair and make-up. Since April I have had the privilege to work with them 2 more times including my wedding. I absolutely couldn't have been happier or found anyone more qualified. Alex and Lauren did my bridal party and my hair & makeup for my recent wedding in Stone Harbor, NJ. I knew from the moment I met them during my trial in August they were "it". I showed a few pins on my Pinterest board and Alex & Lauren knew exactly the vision I was going for on the first try.

Taffeta Hair + Makeup did my engagement photos, hair extensions and everything for my wedding day and I could not be more happy with how all three were done! I had such a wonderful experience with Taffeta Hair & Makeup Design from start to finish. Gina was such a pleasure to work with over the phone and via e-mail. She answered all of my questions regarding pricing and services in a timely matter, and was always extremely friendly and accommodating. She even helped me with a stylish question regarding my hair. On the day of the wedding, Tressa and Ali arrived about 30 minutes early, which was awesome, and set the appointment off to a great start. I was a nervous wreck and they were able to calm my nerves. They were both so talented and clearly knew exactly what they were doing, which also help put my mind at ease. Tessa did a fantastic job with my hair and Alexandra did the best makeup on me that I have ever seen in my life. Eyelashes, airbrush, and shadow was 100% flawless. Both my hair and makeup lasted all day. They were both just really cool people. Loved getting to know them, I felt like I wanted to even invite them to my wedding, that's how cool they were.

Alex and Lauren did my hair and makeup this past weekend for my wedding and my guests would not stop complimenting myself and my bridesmaids. Lauren went above and beyond with makeup. She is SO sweet and truly took her time. She knew what would look good on my TOTALLY different bridesmaids and my mother! My mom wanted a natural look and she looked stunning. Alex did our hair and she is so down to earth and made us all feel very comfortable. My hair actually ended up falling out because it was so windy on the big day but it did look beautiful for pictures. I actually had to re-curl my hair after the ceremony but Other than that, everything was great.

In the stressful weeks leading up to my wedding there was one thing I was not stressing and that was knowing I would look absolutely beautiful because after my trial and following Taffeta on social media I was confident they would achieve the look I envisioned. I was married this past weekend, and the first review I felt compelled to write was for Taffeta. I booked with Taffeta early on in the wedding planning after having an amazing conversation on the phone with Alex. She was so sweet and professional during the call, but also had so much confidence that her team would be able to accomplish any look I wanted to achieve. Throughout the months I periodically checked in with Alex and every time I spoke with her it was an absolute pleasure. When it comes to hair and makeup the professionalism of the owner of the company is important...but really...the most important thing is-did they deliver? YES! YES! YES! I literally had the dream team on my wedding day. For hair I had Shime and for makeup I had Kat. Upon meeting them at my trial my first thought was "This is exactly what you want the girls making you over to look like" They are both super gorgeous and had incredibly sweet and bubbly personalities. Their talent was absolutely awe inspiring. I have never looked or felt more beautiful in my life than I did on my wedding day. My guests at my wedding kept telling me that they had never seen hair as good as mine, and my makeup was natural, understated, and beautiful-exactly as I requested. Alex and Lauren were amazing! They were friendly, accommodating and efficient - we got everyone in our party done plus some last minute add-ons and everyone looked amazing from my 65 year old mom to my 25 year old sister and everyone in between - everyone's make up and hair were spectacular!
I cannot thank Taffeta Design enough for all they have done for me, the bridesmaids, and the MOB/MOG. Alex and Lauren did my hair and makeup for our engagement pictures and I was so happy with how it turned out. They made me feel so beautiful and I love my pictures because of how amazing they made me look! Alex, the owner, and Gina, the communications specialist, were both so easy to reach and talk to throughout the entire planning process. They helped accommodate a time/location for the hair and makeup trial around my busy schedule and being out-of-state as well as Alex and Lauren's busy schedules with work and children. I had so much fun on the night of my trial. Alex helped me find the perfect jewelry for my bridesmaids and the hairpiece for my wedding day hair. She has stunning taste in wedding jewelry and hairpieces! The day of the wedding, Alex and Lauren were so amazing to work with! They made everyone feel beautiful and everyone was so happy with how their hair and makeup turned out. My hair and makeup came out even better than the trial! I felt absolutely gorgeous. AMAZING is the only word to describe Taffeta <3 From day one, Alex was so sweet helping me through the whole process of getting ready for my big day on August 8th. She was kind enough to have my hair and makeup trial in her very own home welcoming my mother and I with open arms. Alex and her team did my hair & makeup as well as my 8 bridesmaids and 3 flower girls in an ideal amount of time on my wedding day. The team was wonderful and all of my girls looked stunning. They were so kind and warm hearted fitting right in with my family and friends making our morning relaxing and stress free. Finding out that Alex is not far from my home, I will most definitely be using her now for other special occasions for hair and makeup in the future.

I've been in wedding parties before where I felt like the stylists were just trying to "get it done" and didn't really bother to take the time to make sure I was happy with it. These girls did such a wonderful job with making sure everyone looked and felt amazing! My hair and makeup looked exactly as I hoped and envisioned that it would on my wedding day. Out of everything related to the wedding, I was probably the most nervous about hair and make-up. I had an awful experience when I attempted to get my make-up done for my engagement pictures, so I was very worried when choosing someone for the wedding.
When contacting Taffeta for information, they were always very quick to respond. Even though most people do their hair and make-up trial at the same time, I asked to do them separately so I could do the make-up trial as soon as possible for my own peace of mind, and I wasn't ready to decide on a hair style. They had no problem with it at all. Randi did both my hair and make-up. She was so laid back and always asked me what I liked and didn't. When I asked her to change some things, she understood exactly what I meant.
When it came to the wedding day, everything was perfect! Randi arrived early and brought everything she needed. It was so wonderful and relaxing to have her at my home and not have to worry about going anywhere. It was just her for the hair and make up for me and a bridesmaid. I was a little worried about time, but we finished with time to spare! I had left the trials happy and satisfied, but she totally upped her game for the wedding day! I felt so confident about how I looked the entire day, and that;s something that I'm sure every bride wants and hopes for. I would absolutely recommend Taffeta to any bride. Thank you, Randi!
Taffeta Hair & Makeup Design is absolutely great! My bridal party, my mom and I all had Alex and Kat for hair and make up. They showed up in Philadelphia, PA where my girls and I were getting ready. They arrived on time and ready to go! I could not have been happier with their service. They were able to perfect the style that each girl had explained. I had an amazing experience with Taffeta and would highly recommend them to all brides-to-be! It was the first company I was interested in contacting and I ended up booking without interest in looking into anybody else. I initially based my decision on their online portfolio as they really had the look I was going for, and once I heard that Alex was also married at the same venue my wedding was going to be at, I took it as a sign! Their pricing is also very reasonable - having them come directly to the hotel we were getting ready at was extremely convenient. Alex was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions that I had throughout the process. I had Courtney for hair and Geno for makeup, and they were both incredible!! The trial was extremely beneficial and made the wedding day a breeze, knowing exactly what I would be getting. Taffeta is amazing!!! They did my wedding party's hair and makeup for 10+ woman ... They not only had us all relaxed and ready before 1230 ( when photos were coming ) but they knocked it out of the park! Alex and Randi are the absolute best! My bridesmaids, my mother, and myself could not believe how gorgeous we looked! We got tons of compliments on how amazing our hair and make up were. I had a trial with Alex and Randi and I loved it - but on my wedding day everything turned out even better!! they both made sure we were 100% satisfied with how we looked after they finished and did touch ups if there was something we weren't crazy about. Amazing! Taffeta Hair and Makeup was absolutely incredible! After having a trial at the home of Taffeta's founder, I felt completely comfortable and at ease with with Alex and Geno. Alex did my hair while Geno worked on makeup. My mother and sister came with me to Alex's home for the trial and we were greeted into her home with home arms and absolute joy! Alex was amazing to work with and made you feel immediately at ease, as if you had known her for years. After completing my hair and makeup trial, I was so excited for my wedding day, not only because I was confident in the job they did on me but because my mom, my sister and my bridesmaids would be able to experience the same pampering too! On the day of the wedding, Alex did our hair and Geno did our makeup. All morning we laughed, listened to music and chatted with one another while ooohhh-ing and awwww-ing as my sister, cousin, mom and in-laws got their hair and makeup done. It was such an awesome experience for us all. From the bottom of my heart, I thank Alex and Geno from Taffeta Hair and Makeup for truly being the best at their job and all around wonderful people! I felt extra beautiful on my wedding day because of you two! Thank You!
Unfortunately I have to give Taffeta a poor rating. I was just married two weekends ago and worked with them. I was disappointed with a couple of things that i think Bride's need to know about, that i wished i knew.
1- The first thing that i didnt like was that for the trial, though they say the try and make it convenient for everyone, they were actually not accomodating whatsoever. I had to go all the way out to the stylist home in NJ for the trial. I live in a city and depend on public transportation as many of us do. I also dont have any family in the area. To get to this appointment was extremely inconvenient.
2- Day of wedding, the stylist went to the wrong location after it had been confirmed with the owner more than one time. Lack of communication and coordination between their team was evident. This delayed our day by at least a full hour.
3- Day of wedding, the stylist did my hair wrong 3 times in a row - and all i wanted was a simple low bun. THREE times. Get this - i ended up doing my the bun myself that day. This also contributed to us being late for the ceremony. Needless to say i was LIVID.
4- Day of the wedding, once again, after confirming multiple times with the owner on the parking and prices at my location for the stylists, and then paying in advance for their parking - the stylists charged their parking costs to my hotel room. Luckily, the hotel was nice enough to absorb the cost since i told them it was already paid for.
While the makeup was just good - i was extremely disappointed with the listening skills having to do with my hair, and the unprofessional nature and lack of coordination between the Taffeta team members. They continued to display unorganization in their efforts, while continuously inconveniencing me at the same time.
I would not recommend Taffeta.
The Taffeta team was more than I could have ever asked for. They made my crazy hectic wedding morning so fun and professional. The girls arrived early to the hotel, which helped with my large bridal party. The trial was exactly what I was looking for. My bridesmaids absolutely loved their hair and makeup, my guests were complimenting them and myself all night long! They truly made me feel like a princess. I couldn't have asked for a better team to make my wedding day incredible. Alex was amazing to work with, and kept in constant contact with me.
